I watched the 90s' mainstream as anyone else but then I stopped in the early 2000s since I started caring only about PC games, last I remember was DBGT (a rerun most likely).

Then, in late 2011 I started watching random series on a crappy streaming site and the first I can remember is: Dokuro-chan.

I loved it and before I knew it, watching anime became my full-time job, now at 3 months and 3 weeks of life on anime, according to AP.

I'm almost 40 and I've been watching anime throughout my whole childhood. Stuff like Grendizer, Mazinger and Devilman. However I can't really say I've been an anime fan back then, I liked american cartoons like Transformers too.

The first anime I've seen that wasn't the usual kid show mangled by pointless censorship was Video Girl AI.

I guess Bebop, but even after watching that my interest was more or less casual. What really started it for me was Lain, which I thought was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen. Needless to say, anime has been a consistent disappointment ever since.
