Stylized armor. She's playing a maid, so it works flawlessly.
Doesn't actually work realistically (except for glancing blows, but those aren't hurting you anyways), but they're in a video game so realism is irrelevant.
I think FFXI had an auto-name feature (at time of launch), where you could press a button and get a random name filled in automatically, from a database of pre-populated names.
Early generations of bots were mostly named this way, and only later began to have keyboard-mash appellations.
>Why would a farming bot be specced as a dual-shield cleric?
Prioritizing survivability so the programmers don't have to deal with them dying (because then, they would have program them to walk back to the farming area) I would assume.
Also, obscene amounts of survivability means you could probably just autoattack something to death instead of dealing with spell CDs and rotations (once again, more pain in the ass to program).
I doubt that. It was most likely just laziness.
Plus, some older games didn't allow you to directly report players or copy their names, making it a massive pain in the ass for people to report bots or throw goldspammers into ignore.
A random string of length X is easy to generate and almost guaranteed to not collide with a previous name.
Technically 'Coppelia' refers to the class of bot. There were like two dozen Coppelias, and a bit over half were caught in the Apocalypse. The Coppelia we see is one who happened to be wandering around France.
Maybe you can, but so far no admin has given signs of life except the guy who's not in his admin account.
Computer programs are people too, you know.
It wouldn't be "hard" but it would require more effort for absolutely no reason. It's easy as hell to detect bots anyway, botting companies don't make a profit through the stealthiness of their bots but through their sheer quantity.
I'm more surprised the japanese server isn't full of australians, it's the only servers aussies can use unless they get one in their own country.
Why would BRs be on a japanese server?
>not wanting a bot-waifu
She's sapient, so there's nothing wrong with that.
She seems awfully concerned for a bot after Leonardos COWABUNGA scene.
Is she really self aware though? Yeah she knows she's a bot but she is still following someone else and seems fixated on her creator. It seemed like she showed little to no freewill.
Do we finally know what made Elder Tales real? Was it magic? Technology? Is it a seperate world? Or reality overwritten by the game world? Was it a phenomenon or a person that caused this?
Easy enough to program.
I had played SWG ages ago and it was simple enough to set up a macro that would heal anyone who gave you some cash in a trade.
Entertainers were able to do the same thing, and 99% of those were simply macrobots dancing in cantinas until the servers went down.
She was obviously designed to heal herself, while also having a sky-high defense, so she could solo-farm sustainably over long periods.
Now that she's not alone anymore, she uses her healing for other people, too.
>can't make a turtle ninja look with armor in the game
>make a frog ninja, since it's the next best thing
Truly, it is a glimpse into the mind of the video game gimmick builder.
when I think of it, can a healer wield shields? It's not specified but I never saw one. Why isn't the fucking wall a fucking tank?
I'm assuming in-universe, there was a TMNFrog show instead of the TMNT we know.
Gotta avoid dem legal shits, y'know
Like I said, hope we get more from him.
That chart says bucklers and plate for clerics, so yes.
It's probably not all inclusive, though.
And she isn't a tank because the self healing capability enables longer farming with less down-time
IIRC, Everquest 1+2 had it's clerics with plate and such, and that's fairly modern.
Best interpretation of a cleric, by the way.
There was this MMORPG I played once called ArcheAge. You can choose up to 3 classes, and wield any equipment. So you could easily get a Healer/Archer/Swordmaster with plate, a bow in case of need, shield and sword.
Graphics and art direction was shit, and quest were soon repetitive so I never got much into it, but I thought it was very versatile and nice.
m still waiting for Black Desert Online, i mean its f2p but its pretty interesting too see what it gives, just free roam with no loading screens in between with a constantly made maps makes me have interest in it and also cant wait for horse carriage pvp battles and having a guild war and sieges
What happens when she dies in-game? She wasn't a real player, so she doesn't have any memories to give up, other than what little she's acquired since becoming sentient at the time of the Event.
At best, pre-sentience her "memory" consists of Log Files, probably loaded with entries like "Obtained 50gp. Obtained 25gp. Obtained 2x Rabbit Pelt..."
> name Coppelia
> similar to Copulation
> She's a sex bot
>Dies after a fatal shield bashing accident
>Has to sacrifice a few strings of her code in order to resurrect or otherwise die for good
>comes back missing several of her functions, can no longer recognize or remember things she does.
>Leonardo forced to care for his now retarded waifu who can't even recognize him.
It's like an adam sandler movie.
Then by definition, she's not a "waifu bot" that you so claimed and is in fact only a "bot" which primary functions have already been lost since the apocalypse started. Congratulation, you have just proven that she is in fact not a "waifu bot".
Something about that whole episode felt disturbing to me. Like it was some cheap
Chinese versionof Log Horizon. I hated all the people involved, the bosses involved, and the desert that China is. I hope we don't see too much of them. Also why is Nureha so ugly compared to her art?
Nah, I'd rather have a fucking dragon.
>Also why is Nureha so ugly compared to her art?
Because anime a shit.
>Leonardo falls in love with the cute shield cleric
>She reveals she's just a robot
>Leonardo is shocked
>Coppelia pulls off her face
>She was actually a Shredder bot all along
>The Apocalypse was Shredder's plan to trap the ninjas and defeat them once and for all
>Rest of Log Horizon is about Leonardo going on a quest to find the other ninjas so they can defeat Shredder and save everyone in the Database
>I'm assuming in-universe, there was a TMNFrog show instead of the TMNT we know.
>Gotta avoid dem legal shits, y'know
Also, the Turtles were often called frogs in various cartoons.
I wonder what a mutliboxer would be like. For example back in the day in WoW I saw a guy running around AV with 5 perfectly syncronized shamans, they'd just frost shock people and explode them.
When juggling large numbers of characters, many multi-boxers have at least some degree of automation.
For instance, they might manually trigger some healing specials on the healer, but routine cures would be automatically cast by the script.
Likewise, they might have some movement AI to handle the group following and positioning, while just moving the lead character around.
Okay Anon here's the deal.
You've just been told that in twelve months your favorite MMO or the last MMO you played will become real and you along with any other player will be sucked inside for the rest of eternity or until you plot device your way out.
You have twelve months of time. If you creat more than one character then they'll also appear in the world with their own personalities. You can invite your friends and tell them of what'll happen. You can get grinding right now and hope you'll be a god for when the time comes.
What's your plan?
I don't know what to feel about this.
>my healer friend I've been playing games with for the past 13 years
oh god yes
Damn you China for making qt bots!
Nope. I die too much.
start getting out the excel sheets, learn game mechanics, learn glitches, fill my warehouse to the brim with legendary items. And create a female character obviously. Undead if possible to have immortality on my side. Oh, and get all the frilly deco-items that I can get.
Max out int/wis to avoid being reduced to dumb muscle
>This is /a/ so I suspect many will trick their bro into making a female character so he gets gender swapped to fuck her.
Meanwhile, your bro is doing the same thing. Both of you end up creating your characters as the little girl.
no way, I'll play my one male character and then live in a house with all my female daugtheru alts but one will have to pretend to be the mommy because I'm a troubled soul and I'll eventually turn to liquor
>Implying that's bad.
Every doujin I've read basically states that becoming a girl turns your whole body into one giant pleasure zone and that fucking feels like heaven compared to being a man.
that's way too fucking easy.
Get all my friends, sell everything we have except the clothes on our backs. Pool the money, pay for game devs. Make our perfect world (in my case, Dog Days: The Game). Finish game in 11 months. Give ourselves really strong powers and items with GM power. Not enough that it wouldn't be fun anymore, but strong enough so that we can handle ourselves no matter what gets thrown at us, at least in the beginning.
Login, play a little to get used. Wait.
You can't deny this is objectively the best plan.
>Developing a good MMO
>In 12 months
Yeah, if this was fantasy land
It doesn't need to be perfect. We know focusing on gameplay is useless, we just need to make nice skills, safezones, and a giant map that is "filled with awesome things" only in the lore (lore becomes real).
Since I'm copying something that already exists that's even easier. Get the Devs to read all the dog days material available. Make Flonyard. Leave most of the thing to the lore as a copypaste. Write the players in as incoming heroes summoned by the Biscotti/Galette/Pastillage kingdoms. Write about all the characters.
Seriously, you basically only need to do a sketch and have the lore fill in everything. That's what happened to Elder Tales, it wasn't as interesting as it is now.
Your waifu isn't real that's not healthy. It's time to go back home
Best I think you could do is grab one of the MMOs that have been reverse-engineered, so you can set up your own servers. Replace the graphical assets and do a little customization.
There is still the problem of having a critical mass of players though.
NA and EU version is licensed by trion.
Sadly the labor points system makes it pointless to play for more than about 2 hours a day every 5 or so days because even if you buy cash shop labor pots you go through that labor in about 15 minutes.
If I got into a western MMO, I'd spend the rest of my life regretting not getting into a JRPGMMO instead.
I want my kemonomimi, my lolis, my japanese RPG cliches, muh powerlevels, muh fighting spirit, muh anger/love/friendship powerups.
If I didn't care for that, I'd go for Tibia.
I'd post it on /a/, /v/, /m/ and /vg/ I guess (since Pastillage does research, it's not far fetching for crystalline magic mechas). Even if not many come, I'm fine with just all the NPCs and my buddies.
The USS Bangbus is ready to launch.
Plus, I'm already a fucking rear admiral, I've got fucking pull.
I am now a craftsman that raked in the dosh when it was popular.
Read as: Before the combat update.
There is something i dont understand, Kanami moved to italy and started playing again, so did she walk all the way from the European server to the Chinese server? and how did she get there without leveling past 90?
Awesome idea, would gladly be trapped in for eternity. Send invite.
Except that when you consider that most of the mechanics and graphics get auto-updated to 'near-realism' after the apocalypse most of the time consuming parts disappear. I mean all the imagery of pre-apocalypse ET is like something from the early 90s.
I also find it cute that you think that time spent in development equates to a better game, as though that isn't proven wrong constantly.
that's cool too. Just would make less sense since I'm the one playing buff manly tank classes and he's always a little cloth healer.
>I also find it cute that you think that time spent in development equates to a better game, as though that isn't proven wrong constantly.
No shit that's not true, nor is that what my post implied. Furthermore, the mechanics are not 'updated to near realism' - there are plenty of mechanical artifacts left over from the game phase in Elder Tale. The graphics get a free update, sure, but nothing else does.
If you want to create a not shit MMO in 11 months, you'd still probably have to make it a MUD.
So, take that as you will.
Sub based ones are definitely better.
I'll go back to late 90's/early2000's MMOs and deal with the shittier internet before playing modern F2P grindfests, given the choice.
And yes, I do realize that the sub-based ones were only really better because it gated out the shit people through a paywall
I think I'm definitely gonna have to use this as an enemy when I get around to running the RPG. A five character hivemind, capable of synchronizing perfectly as well as independent action.
Depends on your definition of dead. EVE is as alive as ever and is techincally a subscription based game. WoW is still has over 10 million players (who knows how many are bots). FFXI still has 16 active servers, somehow.
