LNs usually have 5+ volumes by the time it gets an adaptation, but only 4 or 5 of these volumes will get properly adapted, so the juicy parts or the climax of the story will be left out.
In the end all you get from the show is "Yeah, it was fun. Buy the LNs for more fun!".
From the top of my head, I can remember Inou Battle and Mondaiji-tachi being like this.
Not all LN adaptations have this problem, sure, but from the comments of this thread it seems like this might be a case.

I'm not sure if you watched any of these, but using those two shows as examples: Mondaiji-tachi ended just before they were about to go retrieve their banner/organization name/terminology I forgot, which was the main point since the beginning.
Inou Battle ended just after all the characters had been introduced and the first contact with other power-users.
Basically, the whole anime feels like an introduction or a prologue, so I say the "juicy" parts are the main point of the story, the real "happenings", and I just get disappointed when it ends right before it truly begins.
