Bakemonogatari.
Crab almost got raped because of her mother, got cursed into a weirdo, lost shitload of money on numerous scammers that she trusted will help her. She was lonely, scared, and couldn't trust anyone.
Then some guy comes and finds out about her curse, she then physically assaults him to shut him up(this pretty much indicates that she probably did the same thing to others that found out, but others don't have vampire powers like Araragi to ignore it), he ignores her death threats and helps her. I know a lot of people wouldn't do that, but he went through some crazy shit himself, I don't think it's that unreasonable to think he understands how she somewhat feels.

While that sounds extremely fucking generic(especially if you haven't watched it), he's overall a much more interesting and entertaining character with his sharp tongue and interesting dialog(crab specifically said that she is having fun talking to him when she confessed)

If you watched the show, think about it this way:
if you were any of the girls that loves the nice guy generi-kun, would you even be friends with him? I sure wouldn't.
But imagine if it was Arararagi and you were Crab, I'd be all over him.

I know that it's hard to imagine that such a beautiful girl is that lonely, that's she'd use a motherfucking stapler, and that both characters are so perfectly witty and charming, but it's fiction after all.

Too bad the series after Bake completely butchered the relationship and turned the show into a generic harem.
