LotGH could never be made today. Not because of it's themes those are still strikingly relevant. Not because of the scope of the project because a lot of sure sell anime run a lot longer than LotGH has. I think what is truly unmatched about the Legend of the Galactic Heroes is the intricacy of the setting and the character, it's broth of genre makes it almost ... like a simulacrum of reality.

For what purpose? In the original each character's voice fit them perfectly. Bittenfeld's rough voice, Wakamoto as Reuental was perfect, Yang's voice was kind, humble and gentle, which perfectly reflects him, Annerose's voice was motherly and almost brittle.
One of the main things I'm worried about, concerning the upcoming adaptation, is the VA cast. Like I said, the VAs in the original were perfect.

Tanaka just finished writing the final novel. It goes on sale pretty soon. I doubt we'll ever get another anime though. It didn't do so well.

Yeah, I there's definitely room for improvement in LoGH, which the remake could fix.

There's been some negativity in previous threads about the animation and sure that's a first step. But I would like to see a kickass original soundtrack and not just use classical music which was although was great and fit the show lacks originality.

You're just noticing it more now since the amount of anime produced per year has increased, and the ratio of moe:non-moe seems larger. It isn't. The ratio is exactly the same as it was back in the "golden age", just look at any chart of releases for the 90s.
Anime has always been a medium whose target audience has exclusively been otaku. I'd say the target audience is broader nowadays than it ever was in the past. You're new to anime if you want people to take your hobby seriously, and get angry that they can't because moe anime exist.
