Who's hyped for Tubagirls?
Place your bets on if it's going to be more music oriented than K-On or not.
We need to wait for any moon-readers to drop some info on the novel(s?).
I'd hope and expect KyoAni to put a lot of effort into the soundtrack, OPs, and EDs like they did with K-On. (I'm not referring to the actual in-story music performance.)
(continuing humble, not-too-thrilling image dump)
Having read the novel this is being based on and being a fairly big fan of it I'm really just put off by this design choice, a more realistic style would have suited this series much better.
It'd be hard for it to be less music oriented than K-ON, wouldn't it? From the preview stuff at least it makes it seem like it'll actually be about music club drama, which could be bad.
>He thinks this was more realistic
Like, it would be fine if you thought a realistic art style suited the series better, but let's not pretend the original designs have anything on Shoko Ikeda.
>there's a guy
KyoAni almost found their way again.
I hope not, maybe the manga was different, but the show was a sad excuse for a manga published in a Seinen mag.
Drama can be interesting and add a lot to a show.
That would only be if it it's done realistically and doesn't require me to suspend my disbelief into autistic ranges, see: anything by PA Works.
So, I tried to update this image. But I don't really know what does adapted design and original/loose design mean that this picture shown-- I mean in Lucky star's design, why is it in original/loose design instead in adapted design? AFAIK original design is like that.
Anyone knows what does it mean?
I don't think I've ever seen a marching band with a big violin
Maybe they can put wheels on the bottom of that big violin and just push it around as they march
So, then adapted design almost looks same with original design
But I wonder why clannad is in adapted design instead loose adaptations
Well, the point is where do I put kyokana's and amagi's design? adapted design or loose adaptations?
I don't think the original creator of that image did a very good job. It should just be adapted and original designs, because whether something is just "adapted" or a "loose adaptation" is very open to interpretation.
To answer your question, I'd say both KnK and Amagi had adapted designs.
Best raifu. I miss the show and the /ak/ threads. ;_;
But if they do any marching on anything that isn't pavement then wheeling that thing around is gonna be a bitch
>This is the first time
why do people who "watch" anime in the background without even looking at the actual screen feel like they can have opinions about the drawings and that stuff
These three are by Horiguchi
This is Chiyoko Ueno
This is Nobuaki Maruki
>Yamakan was in a brass band
>he wanted to make a brass band anime when he was at kyoani
>kyoani didn't let him
Fuck you, KyoAni.
>just wanted to listen to more piano music
>instead I got girl with cancer
Thanks, done (again) now
Also, since this is only for currently active designer. I didn't add Chiyoko and Nobuaki in the list
No more tears, only WUG
it's Spring 2015, just 3 very long months to go.
The main girl or this girl?
Any other euphonium players here as hyped as I am?
I'm so happy that my instrument is getting instrument
and that theres gonna be an anime about cute girls blowing and emptying thier spit valves
>Kyoani will never make an anime about a swag mecha Geisha protecting Kyoto City with her dance and cloth while handing umbrellas to children.
Done, is there any problem (again)?
Since I'm still having free-time
Yamada and Horiguchi
Yamada is black hair, and Horiguchi is the person who Yamada waiting for
Whoops, meant Spring.
I didn't realise until tonight how badly I need an anime about cute girls
practicing long tones and lip trills.
Not OP, but go on..
>all these euphonium players
don't we have any tuba players on /a/? or even any trumpet players?
even though another anon beat me to it
Sitting on the sideline like the pit does ya moron
I love that this show will give me an excuse to talk about the euphonium. Euph is the best instrumentfu and anyone who plays it is automatically cool as fuck
>tfw you will never help a cute girl practice her
triple tonguing and flutter tonguing techniques
don't worry, there's a baritone saxophonist with twintails for you to instrumentfu when the show comes out.
Are you this guy?
Sadly no mains playing woodwinds
This is a devotion to an instrument that I do not have. I want to buy my own horn so I don't have to use the school's 50 year old beat to shit miraphone, but they're so fucking expensive it's nuts.
Nishiya girls are top tier.
With him and Kadowaki emerging, Kyoani is set for the future.
well I'll assume Kyoani draws it right later
Yeah. The things that have been interesting me lately are these refurbished old 6/4 Conn horns that I've been seeing on ebay like pic related.
does Conn make good horns? I know F horn players who say that the Conn instruments have been losing their touch since they're mass produced now.
Besson is always a good way to go with brass instruments unless you really like rotary valves
takes me back. Tubafag here
So is this a harem show about a guy joining a music band in his school and for some reason it's all-girl and only him can play that instrument which makes all girl fall for him every story arc?
Please tell me there's more guys in this than one poor male self-insert material.
No, its show about new teacher becoming club advisor for music club with over 100 members, and trying to make them win competitions and not slack whole days drinking tea. All with teacher-student illecite relationship, bitch drama in club and instruments war.
Pretty much the only instruments I've ever played were, Miraphones, Kanstuls, and a Yamaha so I'm not really qualified to speak on Conns, but I'm sure for a casual they'd be fine horns.
>So is this a harem show about a guy joining a music band in his school and for some reason it's all-girl and only him can play that instrument which makes all girl fall for him every story arc?
Nope. This is a full orchestra with many many members. There will be characters who get focus, but knowing KyoAni they are probably going to individually design and name each background orchestra member AND their seating arrangements, even though they would never have any spoken lines. KyoAni had always done that with shows like this.
>Really? I would think it's a concert band considering euphoniums aren't really regular members of the orchestra.
I have only ever been in involved with orchestras back when I was in school, so forgive me if I am unfamiliar with terminology concerning other types of bands.
>tfw you will never gently
explain how her posture is affecting her tone
>tfw you will never train her to
develop her lung capacity and improve her support
>tfw you will never lube up her
valve casings when she neglects to maintain her precious instrument
>tfw you'll never tell her that she should use her fingertips
to develop better technical skill
>tfw you will never slowly drip your
valve oil into her instrument's valves
>tfw you will never tell her not to tongue so hard
with her staccato notes
>tfw you will never
have hot, passionate sex with her
Why even live anymore?
Storyline seems like serious high-school business:
It's first year high-school in spring. Kumiko and her classmates Sapphire and Hazuki went to tour around this Brass Band club in their school.
In the tour, Kumiko noticed her former classmate Rena. And while Hazuki and Sapphire decided that they want to join in the club, Kumiko doesn't. That's because she remembered about an "affair"/scandal involving her with Rena in a Brass Band contest at middle school.
>Place your bets on if it's going to be more music oriented than K-On or not.
I hope it will be more toeriented, if you know what I mean.
Fuck yeah orchestral drama.
Of course, it's gonna be bitchy teenagers instead of a mature, well-paced romance.
>that character design
I'd play her Big V.
I like the way you think.
Is this cage hell or paradise?
They wake up in a white room remembering nothing――
The protagonist Takato Keisuke and 6 others are locked up in these hidden white rooms. His childhood friend Hokari Kanae, classmate Andou Miyako, underclassmate Makiba Rika, English teacher Aoi Natsuki, same year Byakuya Rinne, and classmate Manaka Nemu. While still confused about their unusual situation, a “mystery voice” suddenly speaks to them: “A game has now started.”
In order to escape the room, Keisuke is the “unlocker” and one heroine the “keyhole”. With an assigned act, he must “use the key”.
After hearing the unreasonable and immoral requirements to win, Miyako gets pissed and snaps on the “mystery voice”. Suddenly the lights go out. The girls scream. The lights come back on, reilluminating the white room. They can see Miyako bound to a grotesque torture device.
“Anyone who quits the game will die”
Her screaming begins in tandem with the electrical current. With eyes wide open in fear, she pisses and shits herself. Everyone else starts freaking out. However, Keisuke seemed to be getting aroused by Miyako’s appearance. That was his secret, his urge to assault and humiliate girls.
However, Nemu could see right through him and knew. Nemu takes advantage, forcing the protagonist to submit to him as she brings her lips up to his: “This is a contract kiss.”
Keisuke was surprised by Nemu’s behavior but he wants to protect Kanae and decides for the sake of escaping, he will violate the others. Can Keisuke escape the white rooms and return to his normal life? Or will he hold back his own dark urges…? ―――It is you who decides in the end.
No it is not a show about a new teacher. The main character is the girl playing euphonium ffs. Stop trying to make either the guy in that picture or the teacher the main character.
Why is /a/ so dumb
Okay then, changed
I changed it with Nishiya's design in first CM before Utsumi involved
Original Free designs were much better. Alas.
I like Kadowaki's KnK.
What's /u/ about pointing that out? I didn't say she's a lesbian, I said she's the main character, not either of the two males.
Seinen manga don't have to be all about sex and suffering.
There's plenty of cute SOL serialized in seinen mags.
Well now it has Free (CM), Free (TV) and Hyouka, instead of Hyouka, Hyouka, Free (CM). The current is objectively more representative since Free CM and TV have different styles.
Pretty much every other Free character has a less generic design than the girl.
Use Kisumi if you want diversity.
Well, That's not me through
Nishiya has been drawing nothing but guys these past two years and you put the only female character on the chart?
At least its not the show promoting "How to whore yourself" paradigm as pop-music/idol shows do.
Even K-On is guilty of it, showing innocent high schoolers overcoming their inhibitions to act like sluts on scene and sell their sex appeal.
>Even K-On is guilty of it, showing innocent high schoolers overcoming their inhibitions to act like sluts on scene and sell their sex appeal.
That's just your twisted perception, kimoota.
>At least WUG handled it better
You must be the resident joker.
Keion wasn't about idols anyway, it was about a high school club.
Not much of a difference. Group of sheltered girls becomes local stars, wearing sluty outfits, whore make up, showing of rice bowls, and corrupting their speech to include FUCK after every 2nd word.
Wait.... that last one was Kira Kira, but rest is correct.
WUG exposes dark side of entertainment industry, and instead of painting sugary dreams like every other music/entertainment industry show does, shows it like it is.
Band named after love hotel pleasing old men in run down inn.
You are mixing cause and result.
They became popular because they were whoring themselves out. The fanclub dedicated exclusively to Mio`s rice bowl.
And if you still doubt they became sluts, read the mange where they come to college.
Imagine WW3 starts, and all electronic in japan is disabled by russian EMPs while chinese troops are landing on shores.
And only one girl with Trumpete can save japan by warning the people in vicinity of incomming invasion and mobilize troops with her song.
>being around people who doesn't know what a euphorium is
This whole project is a huge risk since it's not their IP and they are the biggest contributors.
I don't know how much of a calculated risk this but judging from how things are going, they know what they're doing.
2009 = 55M JPY Profit from 1.135B JPY Sales (Keeps 4.84%)
2008 = 160M JYP Profit from 1.258B JPY Sales(Keeps 12.78%)
2014 = 143M JPY Profit from 2.127B JPY Sales(Keeps 6.76%)
2013 = 68.74M JPY Profit from 1.816B JPY Sales(Keeps 3.79%)
Their sales have doubled but they're still shouldering a bit too much compared to back then. Do keep in mind that they're still waiting for that K-ON/Haruhi moment of their own. If they hit gold they'd be rolling in dosh with the Royalties held by them.
The wait continues to whether they get lucky.
Yeah man it really just goes to show, all those retards at each others' throats in the sales thread squabbling over BD numbers which only paint half the picture.
Meanwhile for every dollar Kyoani gets from BD, they're probably getting five more selling random crap like erasers shaped like Haruka's butt.
Easy sales easy life
Double-Bell Euphonium episode when?
Ah, so the 2013 fiscal year? I was at a bit confused at the naming.
2014 had much lower disc sales than 2013, yet there is a big jump in revenue just from doing the IP business.
