Friendly reminder that Yuuna IS still highly likely a hero
Note that wa(わ) in Japanese, which basically means 'is', can be used to imply that it 'is' while the others 'aren't'
Previous Thread >>118941610
She still hadn't fully recovered. Give it up. There's already been plenty of valid counterarguments to the theory. Speculating until we get any sort of official confirmation is just fanwank at this point.
>wa(わ) in Japanese, which basically means 'is'
Well the fall itself is really nothing but its one of a string of things that were different with her recovery from the others that probably forshadowing
Really though when you think of it, there is no reason why Shinjuu cannot chose any of them to be a hero again just as easily as any of the other hundred or so hero candidates
Why on earth would she tell the lie that she's got her sense of taste back, go to the celebration dinner, then be surprised that the meal is tasteless?
Can we have a less shit thread, please? Just put "Yuuki Yuuna" in the title, and save speculation and theories for the replies.
It's more than the Fall. There are a number of weird things in episode 12 that don't quite make sense.
I think the Yuuna is still a hero theory best explains all of them, even if it doesn't explain everything.
So she got her taste back. Doesn't absolutely mean that she isn't still a hero or something, it just means the system got better.
No I think the difference is in some way related to her touching the vertex core barehanded and to getting out of sange- if it was sange that was even affecting her and not something related to her contact with the vertex- that is making her different.
Why are you linking to the last thread? That's what they do on /u/.
Why are you posting pictures of girls? That's what they do on /u/.
Why are you posting in English? That's what they do on /u/.
I want /u/ to leave
Look on the brightside, the sales didnt actually tank and there is high chance there will be a sequel.
You can't continue a story with the whole cast being dead and crippled. I mean can you even imagine a story where they all lie on their bed for the whole day?
Currently the only the anime higher than YuYuYu in stalker rank is frozen, expelled from paradise, love live, origin and boatslut.
I dont think the creators even imagine this kind of success when they decided to make a gochiusa type SoL.
Is it a news that someone said to be staff of this animation posted a lengthy background setting info onto internet that include infos like 2023 is the last year of AD before switch to era of god 1, the time yuusha system first used is 2018, and there are actually 88 type if vertexes can be form but just these 12 around japan, and also a few setting about the background of what those god do and such?
The post from the storyboard guy seems to make like the Yuusha are a form of militant Miko. Pure young girls who eventually age out of it if they survive long enough.
However in the LN they treated miko ability and Hero ability as two different things.
But the qualities to be a hero candidate still seem to be mostly the same as the traditional ones for a miko.
They may have thought that basing a show so heavily on history and folklore would turn people off.
They should never have underestimated the power of cute girls to sell.
All history should be taught with illustrations of cute girls.
I'm interested in what touching the Vertex core is going to mean, since it's apparently never happened before. If Yuuna has some of the Vertex's power, maybe that would let her move during a Forestize like they do (or at least get affected by one enough to feel dizzy), but not be returned to a Shinju shrine since they're anathema to it?
I wonder if we'll ever see any of the other constellations. Shinju-sama blooms and sends god-seeds to grow and protect other areas?
>can be used to imply that it 'is' while the others 'aren't'
No, that would be が.
>What is Yuuki Yuuna?
>Yuuki Yuuna is a hero.
>Who is the hero?
>Yuuki Yuuna is the hero.
Why do people keep saying Yuuna touched the Vertex's soul bare-handed?
When I first watched it I thought it was just symbolical and I still can't see it in any other way.
You people might just be crazy.
I was going to make a picture like that myself. Rewatching that scene, it's not hard to imagine that she was only pretending to be okay.
I really hope this shit gets properly continued because all the floating speculation makes me feel shitty and I just want them to be okay.
Even if it's symbolic, we'd have to explain the meaning of the symbol. Especially since the show hasn't done anything symbolic like that before. So, it still brings up the question, why is Yuuna shown touching the vertex
If the Vita game's "that girl" who can shows up and can move during forestization is actually Gin like a lot of people seem to think, maybe having touched a core in her final battle is how.
It's possible that she's still a hero, or something else altogether, but not having her taste back just makes no sense. Why would she be surprised at something she already knew?
>t's not hard to imagine that she was only pretending to be okay.
I think a it makes more sense to think that the Hero system just changed.
Like after Gin died, they introduced faeries and offerings. Maybe there's another system now.
She wasn't pretending to be ok, her vegetative state and her sange symptoms were separate, something else was affecting her when she was vegetative and until she overcame that her sange symptoms didn't start to heal like the other girls.
She was doing her best to finish that vertex, her best attack with everything she has.
That's why everything is dropping of her, the mankai, the hero suit, the clothes, she's leaving everything behind for that single attack.
Even her words express it, "Reach it", all she wants is to touch it and destroy it no matter the costs.
That's why she went coma, because she sacrificed everything for that one move.
Judging from what they've shown of the game Gin's final battle didn't happen, or didn't happen in the same way. They're talking about it being Christmas Eve in this screenshot. Canonically the 1st gen team, uh, didn't make it to Christmas.
Gin, why are you trying to be a boy.
>wait till the thread is about dead to reply to get the last word in so you can pretend you win
Absolutely pathetic. Of course you don't care. Most people try to block out when they're shamefully put in their place.
I agree, from what we know, it doesn't make sense. It's just that we already know she's the type to suffer alone if given the option, the only reason anyone knew she lost her taste in the first place was because Tougou was being attentive to her.
If this face is just her being glad that things are back to normal, I'd be happy.
It doesn't make sense why the show would put in a symbolic scene at that moment when they have shown the actual destruction of vertex up to that point. There's no thematic continuity where a symbolic expression of that last fight, specifically with yuuna, that that scene would fit into. It would seem more odd its symbolic rather than not because it would be the only example of such a scene in the show.
For the whole of yuyuyu, we were continuously fed Yuusha punch. We knew she is going to do for the final fight.
In the end, the yuusha punch were used for Tougou and we got a symbolic (adam and god) scene for the vertex.
Well all of this is still just speculation until we get a sequel. There is more to it since thematically yuusha punch would be more hot blooded and a better way to show a heroic feat than a single touch of death.
Jesus Christ, this idiot is still going?
>And don't use "subtext"
Go fuck yourself. You have no right to tell anyone what not to do. Even more when you don't even know what the word subtext means.
In fact, you stupid fuck, it's already been explained to what subtext is. Subtext only means something is never stated explicit, it does not mean the yuri isn't real. You are ignorant as all hell, and have no clue what you're talking about.
The only thing you know how to do is degrade the quality of these threads with your shipping faggotry and spiteful shitposting.
I don't think it's a free interpretation.
Yuuna destroying a vertex by touching is weird, but explaining it as symbolism is weirder given what this anime has done already.
It makes more sense she actually touched it then something happened, because none of the girls have ever touched a vertex before. At least, not without transforming.
Shinju-sama, ain't gotta explain shit.
However, she aged like the milk she holds in her city.
She is only starting, we don't know what her portfolio is going to be. Right now she is duplicating Hachiman as a protective deity of warriors, so it would be trying to find what makes her different from Hachiman.
>Note that wa(わ) in Japanese, which basically means 'is'
>Note that wa(わ) in Japanese, which basically means 'is', can be used to imply that it 'is' while the others 'aren't'
How about no.
Yuuki Yuuna wa(topic/context)
Yuusha de(most likely the means/cause of action)
Aru (is and/or will exist; note: usually an inanimate object's)
Yuyuyu event on Monday at the Minato Soft booth.
If I remember correctly,
Yuuna is Yoshino Cherry (Prunus x yedonensis)
Tougou is Japanese Morning Glory (Ipomoea nil)
Fuu is Wood Sorrel (Oxalis acetosella)
Itsuki is Solomon's Seal (Polygonatum biflorum)
Karin is Tsutuji Azalea (Rhododendron indicum)
I'm not 100% certain on Fuu's and Itsuki's flowers, so someone correct me if I'm wrong with anything.
>Note that wa(わ) in Japanese, which basically means 'is', can be used to imply that it 'is' while the others 'aren't'
Please kill yourself or at least stop posting
Yuuna = Yamazakura
Karin = Azalea
Sonoko = Blue rose
Fuu = Yellow Viola
Togo = Jap Morning glory
Itsuki = Solomo seal
All their flowers can be seen on their respective episode title.
Porn game with 14years old girls confirmed.
は doesn't function that way though, it signifies the topic vs saying that something 'is'. the state of being is implied by the interpretation of the sentence vs being outright stated. Nothing functions as 'is'; if you say something is the topic and then an adjective anyone can assume that you're describing what you signified to be the topic.
Reposting from old thread. A guy from the staff leaked some information about the setting on his blog. Said post just got deleted from the blog actually.
YuYuYu is inspired by a chapter in the oldest Japanese written document, the Kojiki. The story goes as follows:
A long time time ago, Amaterasu, the great God of the skies, believing that he should preside over the land realms too, demanded that Ookuni-nushi, the great God of the land, handed over the land of Izumo, over which Ookuni-nushi presided, to one of his descendants. Ookuni-nushi accepted on the condition that a great palace worthy of the heavenly gods was erected to him. This palace is an actual shrine in Japan called the great Izumo shrine, or Izumo-Taisha.
This much is actual Japanese myth. The rest is his account of the YuYuYu storyline. Also, at this point he says that instead of referring to Ookuni-nushi and Amaterasu he'll simply write Gods of the land and Gods of heaven.
2015 A.D. - The gods of heaven seeing how mankind has prospered, decide that they have to purge them because they are growing impudent. They send the Vertexes to do execute that task. The gods of the land sided with mankind and took the form of Shinju-sama.
>Get a wallpaper for each flower and cycle between them
>In the hard occasion of someone seeing my desktop
>"Anon, what are those flowers?"
>"Ah, just the some theme that already came installed"
All according to the keikaku.
>Said post just got deleted from the blog actually.
The harder they try to bury stuff like this and the sequel LN announcement the more likely it seems that there really is going to be more to Yuyuyu.
2018 A.D. - Vertexes invade Shikoku. Some humans are granted the power of Shinju-sama. The first heroes appear. The following year, mankind has managed to repel the vertexes, but they barely have any defenses left. They get the Vertexes to stop the attacks on the condition that they never leave that land. (T/N:It's not made clear who laid down these terms for them.)
I'll omit things that aren't really new.
2023 A.D. - Taisha and the Gorvenment establish a new system. The Anno Domini era ends. The following year is year 1 of the era of the gods. The era of worshiping Shinju begins.
298 - The events of WaSuYu take place. Because of Gin's death, Taisha requests Shinju to make it so that they don't have to die. Shinju gives them faeries and starts demanding body parts as offerings. The new Yuusha system is born. The final battle at the bridge happens.
Taisha increases the scale of the Yuusha system. They take almost 100 people with good compatibility and station them in groups of 4 and 5 along the coastline.
Yuuna's parents are healthy, even if they aren't even mentioned in the anime. It seems Yuuna learned flower pressing from her mother and martial arts from her father.
There is one type of vertex for each one of the 88 constellations.
well in the nature of the particle it would be wrong to assume anything without context. With just the language, no implications can be made about something else being right/wrong. It would have to be made off of the situation. There's nothing about the language to suggest otherwise.
>The gods of heaven seeing how mankind has prospered, decide that they have to purge them because they are growing impudent.
TL;DR being fedoracore will cause your world to be fire.
>I created this with the intention of not showing any male characters
How did you even come to the conclusion of it having any boy in the first place?
He says that this part is just his personal opinion. He believes the sacrifices were returned because they were released from duty after destroying all of the vertexes that were threatening Shikoku. He also believes that even if Karin didn't know Gin, Gin's feelings live on through Karin somehow. Don't know if he was trying to say something with that or if he's just a Gin-fag refusing to accept her irrelevance in the anime like the rest of us.
To finish, he says that he only knows the basic setting and he can't really say everything he knows, so he'll leave it at that. He also says it might be nice to re-watch the anime or the software (I assume he meant the VN) with this information in mind.
I checked his previous entries in his blog. And even if he doesn't say his name anywhere, he looks pretty legit.
>A girl in the Jukai where only "heroes" can move!?
>Yuna and her friends are the "heroes" chosen by the Shinju to protect daily life. During a certain battle with the Vertex, they spot another girl inside the Jukai. But nobody but them, the heroes, are supposed to be able to move in the Jukai when time is stopped. When Fu questions the Taisha, they merely reply that there are no heroes besides them. Concerned, the girls search for that girl each time forestization happens, but...
>◀▼Could the girl Yuna and Itsuki saw be a "hero"?
>Itsuki: Onee-chan, I've got something to ask too... There was a girl back there, wasn't there...?
>Yuna: I wonder if that girl from before's still around. Vertexes attack humans first, so we gotta defeat them quick!
Godspeed JP anon
More like she tamed the monster with the power of her will. Remember that Strength card?
>When Fu questions the Taisha, they merely reply that there are no heroes besides them.
So, does Sonoko not count as a hero since she doesn't have free access to her phone, or is Taisha outright lying?
I love how the sales numbers dropped like a rock after the last episode lot's of people are cancelling their orders as well.
Blunder of the year.
So what's Gin's flower? Azalea, like Karin?
I was thinking of getting myself a flower patch in our family garden and if it doesn't require way too much hassle with it I was thinking of planting Gin and Karin's flowers as a tribute to them.
Nobody knows unless we get a prequel movie.
Only reason we know about Sonoko is because of ep8.
What if the unknown girl is Washio?
I want to see Washio vs Tougou.
>he reposted it but with everything cut out
That he did. However he added a new bit which wasn't in there.
Please wait for an official announcement to see how things will unfold from now.
That'd be interesting. Maybe when the Vertex clunked her in the head it intercepted the sange offering before it could reach Shinju and they used her memories to recreate her as a Vertex Hero
>Note that wa(わ) in Japanese, which basically means 'is'
>Yuna: I've learned how to massage from my father. Back in elementary school, he'd have me massage him after a nice workout.

>Please wait for an official announcement to see how things will unfold from now.
I wanna play this VN now
How do you qualify as a hero with a mind that dirty Fuu?
>Yuuna will never massage you into orgasm
Why live ;_;
>Please wait for an official announcement to see how things will unfold from now.
Is there anything else in that erased post? Still got that tab open just in case.
Out at C87 which is happening right now
>They get the Vertexes to stop the attacks on the condition that they never leave that land. (T/N:It's not made clear who laid down these terms for them.)
This probably refers to when Shinju put up the barrier. Shinju would keep the vertexes away, but no one was allowed to leave.
Well, I left out anything that wasn't new info and I sort of simplified the part about the Amaterasu and Ookuninushi myth. But I translated everything I thought would be relevant.
You could always paste it in a pastebin and post it here in case somebody wants to see the original. I'd appreciate it.
You can see Shinju appear behind Yuuna during her mankai
Just saw someone mention that while usually playbacks on niconico decrease over the course of a series, Yuyuyu's episode 11 has the most of all its episodes.
I found that weird too. Yuuna is clearly facing the other direction when she hits the sun thing so how is shinju-sama behind her?
Hm, so we lost around 50 people after episode 12?
Good riddance, since they turned the threads to shit for a few days.
So was this the end of Yuki Yuna's Chapter, or is the next chapter Yuki Yuna's Chapter and this chapter was "Yuki Yuna is a Hero" meaning that next chapter she isn't a hero?
Man, I only watched each episode once as they came out and pretty much loved every minute of the series from day one; I really want to wait for BDs to rewatch but it's really tempting to just go for it, especially after all that delicious LN exposition.

>goddess of the sun
The previous thread did hit 83. But it was the half of that for a good time.
One of the things that was neat when you rewatch is about transformations and mankai.
When ep 5 first aired, Mankai was the coolest shit. But if you rewatch it now, it's pretty painful to watch.
When ep 6 and 7 aired, it was SoL shit and we were all kind of waiting for shit to go down. It was like filler. But when you rewatch it, they're all having so much fun. You know what they're gonna end up facing soon and you just want them to never leave these SoL episodes.
Saved the page but I think this will do. Tell me if I missed something.
Oh boy not again.
So when Togo was offering to show Yuna stories of the heros who protected the country in the past, she was referring to the girls of the 2018 war?
They didn't have fairies or mankai, so how many of them died?
What's your favorite Togo hairstyle?
I kind of miss how she put her hair over her left shoulder.
When she got out of bed and first started to move her feet.
She is a computer nerd after all.
How can she not a play game that glorified jap ww2 past with her yamato damashii
Togo is a dude's wet dream come true.
Too bad she's gay and the target of her affection shares none of her interests besides cosplaying, which isnt something you can do often anyway.
Every other time anyone mankai'd they visibly pulled power from Shinju, but that last one Yuuna did came from herself. She went into a coma because she partially awakened as a god and it took her a while to find her way back. That's why she agrees when Tougou insists that she saved herself instead of getting helped by Shinju.
>but that last one Yuuna did came from herself.
holy fuck, I never noticed this. There wasn't that whole exploding flower/white strings/branches flying up to her event that has happened with other mankais
>that last one Yuuna did came from herself
H E R O
I don't know but Yuna is fucking adorable. Tougou a shit though. Fuck. I would marry Fuu, Yuna or Karin. Hell Id probably even be okay with Itsuki. Why are most of the girls in this show so great.
Gin was the shortest of the bunch, but she probably would turn out to be the tallest if she was still alive.
Hurt as they were, the Heroes never gave up.
It was 64 almost exactly 24 hours ago.
Judging from how awesome Gin, Karin and Yuuna were, I'd stay it has to do something with how badly you want protect the smiles. Fuu's rampage when she thought Itsuki had lost her voice was thrilling in its own right, and let's not forget how Itsuki never gave up when Fuu gave up.
If I could into webms, I would change the subs to read anons, instead of heroes, and edgelord instead of demon king, would be pretty fitting. Also, Tougou doesn't want to lose her precious happy end, and Yuuna promised her she would be her hero, always. Cue to Yuuna saying I'm your hero. Always. Then they promise to marry.
Have some Niboshii so that my post is not completely worthless.
There are three spoken parts of this series that I think will stay in my mind forever
Yuuna's "Watashi wa yuusha ni narrrru!" in episode 5
and Fuu's megalopolis laughter
>poster count crap
I hate this new feature, it's the worst, I wish mentioning/discussing it was a bannable offence like announcing reports. It is just so useless.
You might not be shitposting, but the majority of people who bother to post about it are scum.
It's incredible how many ways you can make a bowl of noodles.
I don't get this much choice at fast food restaurants.
Just know, it's not you I'm mad at, it's moot.
You can also see Gyuuki turn into a bunch of petals after that flash of light, the same thing that happend to the other fairies after they beat the fireball.
Gyuuki wasn't shown then because he already had vanished when Yuuna mankai'd out of her own sheer willpower.
That reddit-anon with his "Yuuna is still fighting"-theory annoys me so I looked for clues to refute his most important arguments including looking for Gyuuki's last appearance.
I don't know what to make of this.
The girls' faeries disappeared and they were covered in flower petals after the battle when the girls presumably were relieved of their Hero Roles.
So, if the same thing happened to Yuuna that happened to the other girls at that point, Yuuna stopped being a Hero as we know it at that point and became something else entirely.
Her mankai at that point was a new kind of mankai.
Additionally, during that scene you can see a silhouette of shinju-sama right behind Yuuna for a brief moment.
What does it all means?
If she lost Gyuki right there and then, she should still be suffering from disability since they only got back their power when they returned their fairy.
Yuuna can't because she has no fairy to give back. So we are back to the yuuna-vertex angle?
It might be possible that Yuuna became some kind of shinto-god, though I'd prefer the theory that she became an avatar of the Shinju-sama itself, a vessel, for a short time and then returned to being a human. That would explain why Gyuuki is being released in that scene and why the Shinju-sama appears behind her.
Also notice that at first her legs were paralyzed by her last mankai, the moment Gyuuki disappears she can use them again and jumps up.
I think it's an amusing stat line.
I wish we had this when Akuma no Riddle threads were active. Or maybe even earlier, during the waning days of Strike Witches threads. God knows I wasted so much time in those dead as fuck SW threads, that stat might have kept me away from those festering corpses.
She pretty much flies up at the sun, really. But what I found interesting was that the bits of leg you can see in that scene seem to be void of cripple ribbons, and they seem to bend up as if they were usable again.
Well, she hasn't fully transformed yet, she's still in her school uniform.
But I guess you're right, and it's impossible to tell, it happens to fast.
Indeed, they really put some thought into this and it's enjoyable finding the clues.
Realized a jpg would be better.
There are no supports at her legs like Karin has. Her legs are either paralyzed or she moves them because fuck everything WIL ∞. Or she like I proposed before, she became a vessel/avatar of the Shinju-sama for that short moment. Would explain why she was in that vegetative state for a while, a god's consciousness is something too big for a human to handle properly.
Interesting detail, why did Tougou get those tentacles instead of support for her legs?
Fuck damnit Japan, for every good thing you produce you dump tons of shit on us...
They know exactly what needs the more attention.
>Even the official art has Tougou with a derp-face
I want to
rubYuuna's tummyafter she stuffs herself silly with udon.
How can I possibly control such lewd thoughts?
That whole series of 4koma is hilarious.
Rewatched and reinterpreted the episode with Gyuuki's disappearance in mind. I think that by overexerting herself with the activation of her final Mankai, Yuuna ended her connection with Shinju-sama, losing Gyuuki and regaining her lost body functions. The strain of touching the vertex core put her into a regular coma, which she later recovers from. The script about the hero being alone but not giving up refers to the moment where Karin/Fuu/Itsuki were knicked out and Yuuna is trying to convince Tougou. Yuuna's collapse during the play was just because she was still recovering. Her friends rushing to her, and the following applause, highlights the friendship that drives the Hero to never give up. Then the ED with all of them singing together plays.
It's on pixiv untranslated, I'll dump the translated ones.
Yeah, pretty much this. Though it wasn't a normal coma but a vegetative state, but that is just nitpicking.
And an all new version of the oldest joke in the book.
That doesn't explain the death touch and Shinju appearing behind her though.
Rather than ending connection I'd say she borrow too much power from the Shinju.
I still think that Gyuuki disappearance doesn't
seem like releasing Yuki.
>Though it wasn't a normal coma but a vegetative state
Maybe cognitive functions still worked, just everything else didn't. It's hard to say from the outside.
>A persistent vegetative state is a disorder of consciousness in which patients with severe brain damage are in a state of partial arousal rather than true awareness.
... well said like that it just sounds dirty.
>state of partial arousal
I don't agree with this idea about the script. The descriptive qualities of the hero in the script I think are focused on Yuuna, backed up by the panning shots they specifically use during those lines.
This theory has a lot more holes than Yuuna being a hero during her vegetative state.
