What did /a/ think about it?
Not the kind of story I'd expect from Uro, I liked it though though.
>no Material Body as a Christmas gift
I went on ANN to look some stuff up and there was a big banner ad for a review of this that called Urobutcher a "superstar scriptwriter".
Let it sink in for a minute.
To be fair, they're not wrong. "Urobuchi" is a recognised name that even only casual fans will probably recognise. He's a celebrity figure and you can't say the same of the vast majority of anime staff even amongst the weeaboos.
Are you referring to a movie titled superstar?
He might be a celebrity among otaku and weeaboos, He can't compare in terms of recognizability to someone like Mizayaki, and there's still no way I'd call Mizayaki a superstar.
I'm at the first third of the movie and I already like it.
Hopefully this will become a series.
>tfw you will never live as an immortal bodiless hivemind inside cyberspace and get cloned and 3D printed to go out on a stroll on a post apocalyptic planet.
fuck my life.
Is not even bad enough to become a trash cult or something.
Is just plain and boring. The main girl is one of the more generic and forgettable characters ever.
Seriously why people is keep spamming something so bland and average?
I want to stick it into Angela.
You'll need it.
I came without stroking.
That gal is just too sexual.
How would take care of her body once she no longer needs it?
Angela was pretty useless when it came to the mission, all she really did was getting sick and following Dingo around as he was doing all the work and reporting it back afterwards.
Class 3 agent my ass.
Have they fixed up the subs yet? Are about a dozen different sub revisions on nyaa.
dat ass tho
I used v5 of the fish subs and they were fine aside from a few grammar mistakes (maybe fixed in v6) and a bunch of retarded TNs. Certainly serviceable since who knows when an actual group will release.
Yeah all she did was fight at the end and give me a boner every time her ass was on screen.
I cant get over her feet. It's too damn weird.
Did they just "give birth" to her like this?
>tfw you will never listen to the beautiful the sound of gamma-ray bursts from 10 billion light years away and advance humanity's science and understanding of the universe while being part of something greater than each individual, to become a space faring hivemind.
No normal feet can walk around and fight while bent like this.
My money is on their genetical design being made with maximum sexuality in mind. I mean, they can design and print basically everything.
Kinda like naturally 'bount feet' as the chinese used to do.
>tfw no own clone tube girl to pat the head
Funny thing is that Deva are the degenerate ones. Humanity giving up their human bodies for transhumanist indulgence and effectively terminating the basic Human drive of expansion is very degenerate.
I'd want to see the Glorious Galactic Alliance of Humankind purging these transhumanist evolver scum.
why is her costume so unreasonably slutty?
It was complete and utter shit.
I have never seen a single good argument about this movie besides some pathetic mouth-breather praising the girl's body. It was a complete disappointment, it didn't feel like something created by Urobochi at all
The setting was cool and the story was interesting (even though it was kinda simple). The music was good.
The animation was surprisingly good too, I expected total crap. Angela is the weakest part imo, Dingo and background characters look nice.
I detest CGI a lot, but I gave in to curiosity and watched it since i had nothing else to do.
I HATE the movie since it made me feel like a fool. It was actually pretty entertaining, and I ended up enjoying it. 8/10
Literally 10 fps there, fucking disgusting
It would certainly be to its benefit. I liked the movie, but the plot was way too back-loaded and focused too much on constructing the outside and not enough time constructing Deva.
Very enjoyable movie.
A solid plot with a nice, though a bit predictable, twist at the end.
I really liked it. Not a letdown like the other anime movies from this year.
Also, Angela is 10/10 waifu material.
I really gotta say, the end touched my feels.
See you, space robot-kun ;_;
>I liked the movie, but the plot was way too back-loaded and focused too much on constructing the outside and not enough time constructing Deva.
Yeah. Kinda how Gargantia missed its biggest potential in developing the space war between the Humans and the Transhumans more and instead focussed on brown girls, this movie would have been better if they added 10 or so minutes more in developing the Deva world.
But let's hope they will develop them more in a possible series.
she must be the best Rie character to date.
If you said best this year then I might agree but best to date is where I disagree personally.
Does he sing his own backup track at 0:51 or is that robobro?
Is she even a she? You know anyone coming from that civ can literally be anything they want.
>leave digital utopia and come down to earth
>immediately catch the horrible japanese cold
There is no escape from this evil.
I'm really enjoying Rie actually using an older sounding voice for once. It's so nice.
The chemistry between angela and dingo was great.
I'd enjoy if this became a series.
Why would it suck? You are free from all the shitty limitations of a physical body. Also, the "real world" you are experiencing right now is just the result of your sensory organs giving your brain signals in 1's and 0's. So why not just cut out the middleman and input the signals directly into your brain?
There's no reason virtual reality is any inferior to the real world, nor is there a reason to believe that one is so different from another.
When, like the story shows, the resources are controlled, then yes, it would suck.
So just don't be a bum and work hard to survive, which really has not changed from the real world.
In fact, it's better than the real world since there won't be sickness, discrimnation, or natural disaster.
Yet the never ending grind to produce more. Fuck, I think I'd go with Frontier for the sake of new adventures.
I like how Angela single-handedly ruined it for everyone on Deva because of her actions. Now everyone on Deva is going to be governed and policed harder thanks to her. T-Thanks Angela...
They are terrified of AI. It seems as if a AI war was what caused the world to be fucked in the first place if anything of that Nano Hazaard Angela was talking about makes any sense. Sounds something like Moonlight Butterfly or something.
is there a full version of this? I kinda prefer his singing over ELISA.
Think of the money you could make on the black market on abandoned agent bodies. Well granted you would have to find them pretty fast and put them on ice.
What I don't understand though is they're supposedly fully organic since they're clones but they're somehow able to accept personalities through wiring and electronic signals. How the fuck does that work? They gotta have some mechanical parts somewhere for that to happen.
Think about taking all electrons on your brain being taken. Heck there is even a developing project for that these days so that you can still talk to your dead loves ones or some shit
>caring about Deva
>generic utopia #3041
>They should have gone with Frontier Setter if they didn't like it.
Honestly I don't know how they could have. Even though his message was clearly "I come in peace," DEVA propaganda painted FS as some dangerous hacker and probably would have cut off reply communications if they were able to reply at all. Not to mention I doubt citizens in a permanent virtual beach paradise would consider abandoning their complacent lives if someone dropped by and asked them to give it all up.
Literally 20 seconds in and my dick is already diamonds.
It would be possible to arrange something with more freedom than Deva provides though
It 's kinda possible that the suit itself works kinda like that brainwave helmet thingy they used and the bodies itself aren't modded, if you cloned Dingo you could upload his personality into the clone too.
When Angela downloaded her personality from the mecha she did it by pluging cables into the suit, not attaching stuff to her body directly. That helmet thing (I swear there was a specific term for this shit but I forgot) worked wireless too.
Of course she might as well be modded, they did speed up her aging by fucking years.
I liked it, probably partially due to going in with low expectations. Opening scene was cheesy, rest was pretty good. Some nice character development squeezed into a relatively short runtime. All the philosophy and sci-fi concepts were extremely basic ghost in the shell for babies, but I didn't get the impression it was trying to be something more. Good cinematography, some nice action scenes too. I'd watch it again.
But... what kind of 16 year old has tits that big?
and why did it have to be CG ;_;
>Not a letdown like the other anime movies from this year.
There were plenty of girls with breasts like that and bigger in my high school. I don't think it's particularly uncommon.
She looks a little awkward with big breasts since she's kinda petite, but it's not uncommon either.
>Angela is considered loli in their future world
This future is both scary and arousing. I guess DFC must be super rare in their world.
I guess it makes sense when you put it that way.
>feel when no clint eastwood knock off husbando to travel the fallout with
>design body with maximum fertility
>abandon it after completing the mission
this is soo inefficient, I dont know anymore.
couldnt they just send to earth some robots controled by remote by the digitalized people on Deva?
Mentioning this, I believe that this movie would be fairly awesome as a Hollywood remake with western actors etc.
Kinda like Edge of Tomorrow, which was the only socially acceptable way to enjoy light novels, it pains me that there arent socially accepted ways to show this very good movie around my normalfag friends.
But well, why do I even have them.
