They didnt let Takahiro do his thing. This should have ended with Yuuna as a cripple. That would have had so much more impact. But no of course not we cant dare do that. Lets instead just massive asspull ourselves into a good end. Biggest waste of potential I have ever seen. This might even be worse then Kotoura-san in wasted potential.

>>
>>118840082
This doesn't make it better. I said it in the other thread too.

If I accept the ending, it would make it hate most of the other episodes instead. There is no liking of both.

All the previous suffering hinged on a single piece of information that wasn't even true. It is stupid.

They were always improving the system, but they need data, which they got from Gin for the fairies and now Yuuna.

Yes because we didn't clearly saw the effects lasting less on her.

>>

>>118840339
You're right, still, not like this Burger King is a nice place, like, you get there and you don't know why you're there but inside they explain to you why you're there, and this there are the subs.
>>
Reposting because I am a faggot.

The entire thing now hinges on the fact the adults/people running it lied and never explained shit to the kids. With the kids then going off and spreading false information to each other, either to encourage change by manipulation or because they really don't know either.

So misunderstandings created a rather pointless amount of suffering and everything (but fixing the outside world) was daijoubu from the get go of the anime with too little time spent on the atual meat of the setting (the previous girls who died, production of the hero system and exploring what the sacrifices of the girls over the last 300 has been like). So instead it just kind of falls flat, not an asspull but everyone in the process is full retard.

>>
>>118840408
Exactly, that was the deal, Taisha's big mistake was to not fully inform the Yuusha about the stuff, or give them updates about their improvements for the system, then again, What can you expect from a bunch of people that praise a Tree?

GOD FUCKING DAMN IT.

Because if she isn't fucking different, it's not optimized or an improvement.

Therefore, the entire fucking argument (proof) that there was a mention that the system is being upgrades is wrong and not in the goddamn anime.
And you could easily fucking assume that the anime gave no shits about the LN and ignored the past system; that everything was always the way it was.

We wait for subs before that. But I understand those who are disappointed, even though I'm not.

Series spent a lot of time on the characters, allowing us to connect with them. That was great, but this final episode seemed to suffer from a lack of breathing room between the highs and lows. Karin's suffering benefited from the week break between episodes, so most people seemed to feel that shit pretty strongly. Hard to feel the same level of pain in this last episode because there wasn't any time to soak that shit in.
>>
>>118840443

She clearly had low hero aptitude. Made up for it by having huge actual heroism.
>>
>>118840295
Not him, but there are obvious things that haven't been explained.

What happened to the remaining Vertexes outside?
What happened to the hole?

And this is just my guess, but if you take the plot from the VN to be canon, then what happened to Fu and Itsuki? Their living money comes from the Taisha.
Is the Taisha tsun enough to give them their living allowances but not reply to their messages?

>>118840625
Yeah and? I can list a few different anime listed as slice of life that ended up being massive grimdark style suffering fests.
>>
>>118839752

Everyone that survives stays a cripple.

The argument between togo and yuuna does not end in a beat down convincing. Yuuna subdues togo but neither change their stance. Yuuna logs herself to kill what made it in and somewhat patch the hole.

>S2

Few year time skip, everyone is still depressed and in combat. Nothing is completely fixed, but they are more open with what being a hero entails (LN is animated here, finally showing viewer the backstory).

From here I don't really know where to end it. It's up to your interpretation if you think the taisha were not lying about 'just wait it will heal' or if the whole sacrifice process feels cheap. No one dies anymore, but it's down to how you feel about consequences sticking which will determine if you think the ending we got was acceptable (because it was mentioned multiple times that everything was fine) or if it's bullshit because it's no long a sacrifice and goes against information and preconceptions on what we were told early on.

For the most part it just needed 4~ episodes more. With time to deal with taishi, being cripples and rolling the dice on pretty much the same ending.

Not that anon but when Gin died they mentioned recruiting people from all the country and someone else from the families, that one is Karin, maybe she just happened to be the girl with most hero aptitude than the remaining girls from the families, but Karin still has less than the other 3, also she couldn't control the Axes at all so maybe it's also that.

>>
>>118840769

>>118840527

this. should have been like an hour long episode with Yuna maybe recovering SOME functionality near the end (but not all) giving hope. Should have probably shown more of the heroes trying to get back what they lost, maybe Karin trying and having a lot of trouble doing her sword dance again or Togo going to physical therapy. But slowly they would get better and put on the play. Maybe wheel Yuna in so she could watch it, and afterwards with Togo she could start her recovery.

I dont think it's an asspull because we are shown that Shinju is not cruel or a dick god. After watching the fight like they did it's not out of the question for a merciful god to decide they deserve something better.

it's also clear the vertex are still around. their would is still just a little bubble of heaven for them in the middle of hellfire, but they were willing to sacrifice everything to defend that.

The Taisha went full retard when Gin died and Sonoko and Sumi were crippled, they were so shocked that they felt they had to keep the truth secret and avoid all unneccesary contact with the girls because they couldn't get over their own emotions caused by the girls suffering. They were trying to help them but it was all solely material support, no emotional or moral support from the Taisha and no chance for any from anywhere else because the Yuusha's existence was secret.

We did see them getting better, but it was important that the culture festival sketch was the capper, too. I wouldn't mind an OVA showing them slowly recovering in more detail, though.

I actually had the feeling for a while that it would turn out their disabilities would improve, but only if they kept trying to use them rather than giving up and trying to get on without them, hence Itsuki starting to mouth words rather than write them.

Needed either an extra episode, or shift in pacing.

Should have been
>Episode: Karin's suffering(ep11)
Breathing space
>Episode: Yuuna confronts Tougou, takes more time on bringing them all to stop the giant fireball instead of just suddenly everyone and Karen throwing themselves at it, maybe add more combat
>ends with them all lying in the circle with Tougou going "Yuunachannn!" with her not responding
Breathing space
>Last Episode: Goes back to SOL roots with the cripples slowly getting back to form and processing Yuunas condition until blah blah she's fine again, END

Basically split last episode in half, airing with a week span in between. I'm not sure an hour block finale would have the same impact as that week of suffering that came after Karin, so not that.

Agree. Kari's thing was so powerful because we didnt know what would happen with her. ending the ep with Togo screaming for Yuna would have a similar effect, then week breack with everything freaking out. Then the last episode of them slowly getting back to health.
>>
>>118840550
They Taisha were not right and were not the good guys. They were improving the Hero system all along out of self preservation and were only working on the material side and not treating the girls properly as people. And probably this was because of their own grief over what happened to the first three girls and their inability to overcome the problems before the vertexes appeared again, requiring them to send more girls out to fight with defective equipment.
Sonoko's refusal to transform when the Taisha came begging was her bringing home to them the point that the couldn't go on treating the girls this way. And when she did that no one, Taisha included was sure that the handicaps would go away even though they were working hard on it. Really its irrelevant that the girls were cured in the end, they were put through excessive mental torment that almost broke them and ended the world.

I think the problem is using the world sacrifice and then talking about sacrificial rituals to gods for power. When the final result is not a sacrifice, but an inconvenience to these girls for a few months. That leads the viewer on and is a lie on the concept and the whole basis of the drama and suffering.

A little more focus and exposition on the fact 'it's a crazy prototype, magic and shit we don't know how or why it werks, it just does' would have been better. Because it comes off as if they know they have the solution of no longer needing to actually sacrifice people for power anymore and just horribly mishandle the situation completely demeaning all the sacrifices before these girls who just recover.

No, the Taisha was treating them with uneeded cruelty by keeping the girls isolated and in the dark about both the past and the future because THEY couldn't face the emotions of making the girls fight with defective weapons they couldn't figure out how to fix or how to heal the damage caused.
Sonoko got Tougou to rebel in order to make them face how they were treating the girls and, hopefully they have changed, that the girls WERE cured was pure luck for them. It didn't change that the Taisha's behavior was bad and nearly undid all the work they were doing on the material side by breaking the girls before the system was fixed.

I loved it. Most series don't manage to make you care about and really fear for the characters' safety like this one did, so you're too busy experiencing their relief as if it were your own to be caught up in analyzing it as a work of fiction. It was always going to end with an emotional rather than story-based payoff.

so far we dont have any way to know if the 'sacrifices' where permanent or not at the time they were made. I think they were, but something happened in that last fight. Either they got enough data that an improvement in the system could be made or Shinju, after watching these girls fight with all their hearts decided that a change was needed. in that case the only reason it improved at all was because of what they did, because as far as they knew it WAS permanent but for the sakes of their friends they were still willing to go that far.

Can you fuck off? The only reason people hyped this show so much was because of the dark and edgy suffering.

When the ending makes itself happy by revealing the characters were just overreacting morons working off of misinformation, that sucks.

I do not mind happy endings. I would have liked it if the characters did something that caused the healing and they earned the happy ending.

But the way it is set up now: There was no way the heroes could lose because they were immortal and Mankai is more than strong enough to kill all the Vertexes. And all they needed to do to be happy again is wait a few months instead of flipping out like a bunch of psychos.

I wanted an ending that did not make everything in the show pointless.

>It was equally as good
You must be out of your mind.

It had terrible pacing, useless characters, with a lot of filler stuff happening until the last 3 eps where everything started to go way too fast. Ruuko also turned from a socially inept girl with a slightly warped mind -more prone to do things because society saw it as the good thing to do rather than something she really wanted to do- to your generic "Friends are awesome" MC
>>
>>118841873
>>118841411
It was only told from the girls point of view. So there was no way they could of known this.
You are right though that the whole conflict in the story is the Taisha's refusal to face up to the defects in the system. But we did get to see outside the barrier, they did have no choice but to have the girls go out and fight to buy time.
The girls (and the audience who care about them) got lucky that the Taisha's engineering and medical sections apparently found a material solution that healed them. There was no foreshadowing of this because they got lucky this time, it did not have to happen this way.
>>
>>118842108

2) Not like a retard.
That Anon falls into 1), can't be helped.

Are you describing yuuki yuuna?
>>
The only problem with the ending was that Yuuna didn't kiss Tougou.

Probably Spread.

But its real life anon.
Soldiers come back from war crippled, with no guarantee of recovery.
Modern medicine, spurred by the number of wounded coming back devises new treatments and does, in the end, physically heal them.
But mentally? This is left unanswered, deliberately.
If there is a sequel they will have to address it.

>I wanted an ending that did not make everything in the show pointless.
Translation: wars should never end with peace treaties.

/a/ is full of idiots, as always.

The fact that it showed the Taisha to be lying and for the reason why everyone was saved was because they were telling the truth is really just annoying.
Especially since we know literally nothing about what they're doing and it wasn't foreshadowed in any way.

She did lewder things.
>>
>>118842210
Yeah, well, I'm not saying it's perfect but I don't see how they'd address that now, they did it well enough during the rest of the show though.
>>
I want a 4-episode OVA series. An episode about them slowly recovering, an episode about Tougou and Sonoko, an episode about them finally finding those FUCKING KITTENS a home, and a super-subtexty episode about Yuuna and Tougou.
>>

Real ending as in suffering?

You'll have to wait for the LN movie if you want suffering ending I imagine.

They got so close to each other, and did interlocked fingers too. Watching it in the stream was one thing, but I'm gonna doki doki all over the place with the 780p and subs.

Maybe kiss in season 2 or vita game.
