She's definitely not going to be blushing when unwillingly violated.
Less meme spouting, more actual Chaika
What do you even gain from spouting this bullshit?
The only similarity in the LN conclusion is that Gaz dies.
The story in itself is mostly different anyway.
I think i speak for everyone when i say Blue chaika is the best chaika.

That's a funny way to spell "slut".
Ending is fine. Of course Gaz is going to die. What was "anime original" was how everything was rushed and how things were cut in order to fit into 10 episodes. For example, brainwashed Gillette is actually a threat and he wrecks Toru instead of losing to Vivi and gaining his memories back in 2 minutes. Chaika has always been about the character interactions and the journey
Could you post p225? I'm only missing that and the sp pages
Toru, Chaika, Frederika and Niva are missing. They lots lots of memories and 6 months later Akari and Red are still searching for them.
David is with Selma. Selma is pregnant.
Gillette gets his arm back thanks to Toru.
This is bullshit
Pic happens half a year later. Toru/Chaika/Frederika/Niva are still missing. Akari and Red are living in an inn in a village near where Toru and Chaika are supposed to have landed after defeating Gaz.
Akari decides to go back to that first town where they met White Chaika and start searching from there. Akari doesn't want Red to follow her but Red decides to hire Akari as a saboteur. New goal is to find Toru and "her sister".
Or maybe a quick wrap up where they find everyone in Vol XII.
Still underwhelming compared to the satisfactory anime finale, especially because Kadokawa advertised Vol XI as grand conclusion of the Chaika saga.
How's that? There's another volume coming out in march.
The "new goal" part is there for comical effect. The whole epilogue chapter is mostly funny exhanges between Red and Akari.
I thought the actual ending of the anime was fine and that the problem was how we got there. In general the whole second season had pacing problems and some dumb decisions, but Episode 10 was total nonsense where everyone just abandoned motivations and logic and did a bunch of stupid actions without consequence to force the parameters of the ending.
I was sure that this was because the ending was set in stone by the light novels and Bones had been fucking up the second season so badly that they had to rush to make the ending happen. So it really was a Bones original ending after all.
The main story.
>Still underwhelming compared to the satisfactory anime finale
Nothing can be more pathetic than 20 minutes of Bones quality ending with a pointless "personality" instagib. Nothing was explained in the anime and there was no development around anything.
There's the ending and there's how we got there. The ending is just the state the story leaves off. In the novels, apparently four of the main characters disappear and the journey continues. In the anime, you get some closure and you know that the characters got a happy ending, finding romance, parternship, and things to do in peacetime.
at least you didn't go full retard and pick the worst Chaika
>How did they go missing to start with?
Gaz is trying to ascend to godhood and has prepared a spell for that. There's a tower-like structure which gradually desintegrates the body and separates the mind as you go up. While Gillette and the others stay below, fighting against Shin and his Subaru saboteurs, Toru, Chaika, Niva and Frederika ascend the tower to chase after gaz. At some point they no longer can maintain their bodies properly so they start using dragoon powers to constantly regenerate themselves (Toru has the contract, Chaika has Niva).
After they defeat Gaz, they don't have any magic fuel left and have to start using their own memories. Toru starts to forget some important things (Frederika exhausted her own memories and started using Toru's) and asks Chaika to fire a final shot and destroy the tower. Chaika is barely responsive (Mui?).
The next scene is Akari and the others, who stayed behind, see a flash of light and the tower starts to collapse. They also see another trail of light, separating from the tower and falling somewhere far away. Akari and Red think it must be Toru.
Toru can use Frederika's magic. He can bite people and heal them.
When they (Toru, Chaikas, Akari, Selma and David) were resting for the night after Gaz's proposal, Toru asked Frederika to heal David's wound. She refused because she didn't want to "bite other men than Toru" (Akari then starts the usual bullying). Then, Frederika taught Toru that he can actually heal people himself.
In the anime you get a happy ending where everyone lives together. If you like that kind of things, then good for you.
I don't particularly like how Toru and Chaika are missing because I'm a sucker and actually somewhat like retarded harem-tier happy ends. But still, there will be another volume with maybe a conclusion for that part..
>I don't particularly like how Toru and Chaika are missing because I'm a sucker and actually somewhat like retarded harem-tier happy ends.
I find the rest of the volume (and the rest of the story) satisfactory.
I'm not sure how I would feel if Toru and Chaika returned safely, without memory loss. It feels kind of underwhelming and somewhat generic.
>I'm a sucker and actually somewhat like retarded harem-tier happy ends.
Damn. What's it like, being able to enjoy so much anime? I've gotten so bitter when it comes to those endings.
The prologue is Gaz making Shin a new Emperion. He bites him in the neck and injects something. After that Shin has (pre-revival) Gaz's powers.
Chapter 1 is where Gaz asks Toru and Gillette to reign over 1/3 of the world each. The other 1/3 is for Shin. Gaz wants a perma-war because he thinks without war, the sociaty will stagnate and degenerate, and that too much peace will end up being harmful.
Gillette asks for some time to think about it. Gaz accepts as his next spell will take half a day to complete. Team Toru and Team Gillette go separate ways to find a place to spend the night. During that time Frederika teaches Toru about his healing powers. In the end, Toru and Gillette conclude that if they reject Gaz's proposal, they'll most likely be killed.
I'm still pretending that Chaika has themes, and to me, the natural thematic conclusion to everything is that Toru learns to live and love in peacetime despite being raised for war and Chaika sheds the past and realizes she can be her own person after giving her father a funeral.
Ultimately, from the anime at least, the whole point of the story was about people who had lost their role in a peaceful world, and the conflict came from people dealing with that. People either clung to the past and wanted war again and were destructive and ultimately died, or found new roles which was why Red Chaika working in the vineyard was such a nice little thing in the ending. A conclusion where Toru and company disappear and Akari and Red go chasing after them doesn't really say anything about the main theme.
In chapter 2, Gillette and Toru announce that they won't accept the proposal and get ready to fight. Shin is there as well as several of his Subaru saboteur buddies.
Gaz tells them to no fret and starts caughing blood. He looks exhausted and says that his body won't hold much longer. His revived body had removed limits and during his fight against the apostles, the body got damaged, just like when you overuse the Iron Blood transformation.
Gaz reveals that he plans on taking God's place. His spell is ready. It looks like a tower with a spiral staircase. He starts ascending the tower.
Gillette wants to stop Gaz but Shin doesn't let him get close. Everybody start fghting. Toru heals Gillette's arm back.
Eventually, Toru asks Gillette to take care of Team Shin and decides to pursue Gaz with Frederika's help. Chaika wants to go too. They ask Niva if she can do something but she says she can't and that her role is already over (can't use God Slaying spell anymore, can't stop the ascension spell because she isn't the one who maintains it). Niva sees herself as a tool, which gets Chaika mad. Chaika then makes a speech about how much she disagrees with using people as tools. Then Toru, Chaika and Frederika decide to go after Gaz. Toru is on top of Frederika, he grabs Chaika, then Niva grabs Chaika too. There's no time to argue so Toru just pulls both of them on top of Frederika and they all fly off.
Volume 10 summary for those not caught up
Chapter 3 is where Team Toru fights Gaz.
Team Gillette finishes dealing with Shin. Shin is just like pre-rebirth Gaz. Overpowered as hell. He has a gundo in his left hand, a short sword in the right hand. He can almost instacast magic. Plus he has 7 or so of his saboteurs buddies.
Zita, Vivi, Mateus and Nikolai take care of the Subaru guys.
Gillette, David, Selma and Akari fight Shin.
David gets his hand wounded. Gillette gets slashed too but also managed to stab Shin's thigh (which doesn't do much in the end).
Eventually, Zita finishes preparing some big whirlwind spell (the same she used to stop Vivi's transformation rampage) and they manage to finish of the saboteurs. After that, Shin starts getting his shit gradually wrecked, as he is now too outnumbered, with Akari eventually landing the final blow.
Toru's worries were already practically resolved some time ago in the LN. He already stopped seeing himself as a tool and basically now does whatever he wants, without forcing himself to follow some "fate".
Team Toru is inside the tower, chasing after and then fighting Gaz.
The tower slowly decomposes the bodies and grants transcendence. But it's only guaranteed to work on Gaz as he is the one who designed the spell. What will happen to other people who enter the tower is unknown. Toru's and Chaika's body slowly start going translucid and Toru's movements are much slower, even with IB. They had to start using dragoon magic to maintain their bodies. Toru has his contract for that, Chaika has Niva.
They fight Gaz. Gaz is obviously overpowered as hell but he eventually get careless and Toru manages to subdue him: Chaika was constantly firing at Gaz, which did nothing, but it eventually started to annoy him. He gets on top of Frederika and grabs Chaika (and tells her how she could have lived happily with Toru as king). Frederika then shifts into her human form which breaks Gaz's stance. Toru uses IB a second time (double, overlapping IB), rishes towards Gaz and manages ot stab him, extending his daggers with dragoon's magic. He pins Gaz to the ground and asks Chaika to shoot him (which can also harm Toru). After that emotional scene, Chaika finally decides to shoot Gaz with her Annihilator spell thing. That kills the Gaz, his body dissolved.
Please keep going, I'm making a pastebin of these
Then Team Toru starts descending the tower. Frederika goes as fast as she can but Chaika eventually runs out of magic fuel and starts using her own memories to maintain Niva's dragoon regen magic.
Frederika looks dreamy as well and takes time to react to what Toru says. He asks if her memories are okay and that she should just use his as well, if necessary.
Frederika jokingly says that if she exhausted her memories, she would use her last spell to transform into a cat, or some other animal, and that Toru should take care of her and love her very much.
Eventually she starts using Toru's memories. Toru starts forgetting certain things. He still can rebuild/recall some of the missing memories from his other memories. But he still starts to panic and asks Chaika to just shoot and destroy the tower (since Gaz is dead, technically there's nobody to regenerate it). Chaika seems dazed and takes ages to react. Toru is at maximum level of panic and just tells to shoot.
Next scene is Team Gillette looking up at the tower. They noticed the tower slowly decomposing into raw material and understand that Gaz was defeated. They worry for Toru and Chaika and wait for them to return.
Eventually they see a flash and pieces of tower getting destroyed. There's also another trail of light, just like after using magic, separating from the tower and flying off in the distance. They think it was probably Toru and Chaika. Akari suddenly rushes toward where that trail of light might have landed. Red does the same.
Gillette then tells his suadmates that they should probably go back to the Klimann Agency and report (it's funny, because he doesn't know that his squad isn't part of Klimann anymore).
>Gillette then tells his suadmates that they should probably go back to the Klimann Agency and report (it's funny, because he doesn't know that his squad isn't part of Klimann anymore).
Did the go rogue? In the anime they were still part of Kleeman. When did they go off on their own?
Then there's the epilogue.
Half a year later Team Toru is still missing.
Akari and Red lived in an inn in a village near where Frederika might have landed.
Selma and David were living with Red but eventually Selma got pregnant and they moved to the village (they were offered a house there because the village is in the middle of nowhere and a lancer and a magician like David and Selma could help in repelling the thieves and marauders).
So what note does the LN end on? Akari and Red leaving on their journey?
Akari decided to go the village where she and Toru lived before meeting Chaika and start searching again from there. Red wants to come too. She says she wants to find Toru and also "her sister". Akari is reluctant but then Red says she wants to hire her officially as a saboteur. Akari accepts.
The epilogue is mostly for fun. About how Red embarrassingly calls White "her sister", about how Akari bullies Red and about how Red tries to lead the way even though she doesn't know where that Akari village is located.
>When did they go off on their own?
I don't remember when exactly. It was after Gillette was dead, that was the main cause. I don't remember if they officially resigned, but in volume 11, Nikolai jokes about what kind of face their superior will make and how is he going to punish them.
She tried to land a hit on Gaz while in her human form but failed miserably.
She's much better at assisting.
When Toru gets bullied after asking Frederika to heal David.
He tells Frederika to bite David. She says "yeah, no.". They start arguing. Frederika says she doesn't want to bite men other than Toru.
David, who has no idea what's going on, asks if it's some kind of lover's quarrel. This triggers Akari and she goes into her sexual harassment bullying mode, making Toru look like a NTR fetishist.
And then he bites David (no homo).
Then Akari has a super idea of faking injury and asking Toru to bite her.
And then Toru bites her in the neck.
Or when Toru and Gillette bro it up during the initial fight. Toru actually saves Gillette from Shin first (sort of surprise) attack. He stops a shuriken with his hand and then cuts it off to prevent the poison from spreading (dragoon magic is useless if the poison has permeated the body).
They call each other by their first names (no homo).
I hope vol 12 will have more interactions between Team Gillette and Team Toru. That is, if Toru is still alive and didn't lose too much memories.
So anime ending is complete shit, and the LN is mostly shit, unless the epilogue saves it. That's why I said he should have kept going and made one or more volumes and not rush to the ending.
Pretty much. I don't particularly like how Toru's and Chaika's fate is unknown, but the anime pandering "everybody lives together" ending is no better.
The LN wasn't rushed, it just ends kind of abruptly, but that's also because people nowadays aren't used to this kind of exotic endings. I hope for a bittersweet resolution in vol 12. Something like: Toru and Chaika have lost enough memories to not be able to remember where to return, so they returned to the place where they first met and lived together with their dragoon cat for 6 months.
The final scene is one of the only enjoyable parts of S2 (the other parts being Niva's scenes and the vineyard filler). Other than that, the anime is completely bland. There's nothing to like or hate. There's zero substance. Zero development.
She didn't betray Gaz. She finished her mission and then she had nothing to do with Gaz anymore. The only attachment to the world she had left was White Chaika.
>Same reason as the anime?
What would that reason be in the anime?
Well it's not the TRUE ending if there's another volume which covers the epilogue. It's the climax to the main conflict. Everyone is mainly here for the characters though so we'll see how that turns out.
Thanks a lot. Do you know what happened in Volume 5 and 8? The anime skipped over those for the most part
This is a pastebin of his Vol 11 Summary for those that want to bring it to future Chaika threads
I don't think Chaika's cuteness would translate over well with an english dub. No kanshas, muis, ouis, or any of that. They could give her a russian accent though. Toru would probably be voiced by JYB or Yuri Lowenthal
Delicious no-chaika is delicious
Is this month's Chaika chapter translated yet?
We get this this month, and then the final in February
I don't remember vol 5 and I don't have raws anymore.
Vol 8 has the first part of the tournament arc.
The tournament is a big martial arts festival. It was a tradition of the Hartgen family.
The preliminaries are like a battle royale among some old ruins. There are about 1k people participating in teams of 2. The whole thing is broadcast magically to the viewers.
Toru is with Frederika, Red with David, Vivi with Nikolai. Toru actually meets Vivi while waiting with Frederika with their turn to register. He thinks it's White Chaika and follows her to her butt for wandering alone. In the end it was Vivi and they chat a bit about chaika stuff.
At the end of the preliminaries, Toru, Red and Vivi casually help each other and team up against the Subaru saboteurs. Red gets herself in a dangerous position and Toru finally decides to ask Frederika for help for the first time. She heals him and the enemy flees.
Then Akari, Chaika and Niva gets kidnapped by Shin. And that's it.
There is also a fair amount of Twins but they don't do anything special. Stephan is crazy and the twins seem to manipulate him in order to hold tournaments every year.
Also, Stephan never explicitly offers the remains as reward.
No you retards, there has been a epilogue volume 12 announced since the anime started airing. The main conflict in the story is over. All that's left is wrapping up the character's individual stories.
>Does Vivi get her happy end with Gilette?
Gilette's pretty dense. Volume 10 says Gillette might not understand Viivi's feelings yet.
>What's going on in >>118660455
It's when Gillette & co think about what do to about Gaz's proposal.
Gillette doesn't want to accept, but still considers it because otherwise his subordinates will be in danger.
Zita says she doesn't want Gillette to become a monster like Shin and then pushes Vivi to confirm (as in, "you feel the same, right?").
Then Vivi gives her opinion on the matter, spilling spaghetti everywhere in the process.
Is it just me, or when I watch the show I never really notice the "mweee".
I can't even hate BONES Arigatou end after that.
Best end? Best end
dat small tight
>Then Vivi gives her opinion on the matter, spilling spaghetti everywhere in the process.
Vivi a qt. Thank for the summary anon.
I didn't neither, guess I need to watch everything again and focus on it
Well thats the end of it. Thanks to the anon who gave us a quick rundown of the last novel.
I would still like to read the whole adventure someday, despite the ending sounding like it would leave me feeling empty.
Well we still have to wait for the prologue.
But yeah, I totally would like to read everything some day. Like >>118660455 said
Chaika has always been about the characters' interactions and the journey after all
I'm less and less sure about that. I wonder what kind of content the author will put in a limited edition volume bundled in a 50€ BD package.
Unless they also release a standard version for plebs.
Could that mean it won't have really important info?
good news then.
>Frederika jokingly says that if she exhausted her memories, she would use her last spell to transform into a cat, or some other animal, and that Toru should take care of her and love her very much.
I would take care of Freddy and lover her very much
Thats why I sexualize Freddy instead
Got the Raws for Vol 5 right here if you want to read it. I mainly want to know the context of this
I hope so.
I can already see the book covering 6 months of memory-damaged Toru and Chaika living peacefuly in Delsoranth, or whatever that village is called.
It's real in my mind.
She's checking if he's healthy.
I think they try to find a way to get on Soara and Chaika suggests asking Frederika for help.
Frederika pops up, hanging upsidedown from a branch, then gets down, asks Toru if he's alright, then licks him because she can assess his well being from his "taste" (she's used to biting/healing him).
Didn't that happen in S1 too?
You know what Bones is lacking in their shows? The OST, it isn't really great. None of the music really stand out, and it is not bad, but very bland. Not talking about the OP/Ending song by the way. The only show that I can think of that had pretty good music overall is Eureka Seven.
holy fucking shit I always felt there was something odd about him, how did I never notice
Totally agree with you. If you asked me to sin g one fo the songs from the ost I can't remember any of them. Which is weird because you usually get at least one stuck in year head, or one you really liked.
What was Toru's fantasy illusion in the LN? I heard it involved lewd things
Which Chaika would you Chaika?
Blue is a mangled std riddled corpse. So no.
White, yes. Gently, tenderly
Red, yes. Also gently and tenderly.
Viivi, yes. Aggressively, forcefully, until she accepts her inner chaika
I actually like this. The main conflict got resolved more or less how I expected it would and we get a whole volume dedicated to an epilogue, which will hopefully have Toru and Chaika getting together.
And to be honest, with an entire volume we /should/ get this otherwise it'd be a pretty fucking big disappointment, even more so than the woefully underwhelming BONES ending.
Red and Akari will journey for a long time before they come across a legless Toru and a pregnant Chaika living in a remote cabin.
Like >>118684154 said, it was only translated up to the first part of Volume 3.
I'm trying to get raws and upload them to mega so people won't have to deal with those shitty file sharing websites that only let you download one thing from them an hour. I'm still hoping someone will step up and translate, but it the meantime we gotta generate interest in it
