It's kind of different. Shirou comes off as dense due to his complete lack of self-awareness, which is also his strength in battle in a way, while Bazett is self-aware to the point of being awkward. Regardless, combat is the one thing Bazett knows well, it's what she's spent her life training, so I can suspend my disbelief for that. If you know you're good at something, you're going to be really confident when you're doing that thing.
