The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan staff...wat, Satelight?
As I said in the last thread if KyoAni continues to work with KadoKawa like they did for Amaburi we may see S3 of Haruhi soon. In the mean time I'm torn with this news. Satelite was bad enough but this fucking staff is not impressing me at all. The only silver lining here is the original voice cast coming back but judging by this staff they won't have the balls to deviate themselves from the source material to make the characters more like their KyoAni Disappearance counterparts and just stick to Puyo's shit characterization.
>hey won't have the balls to deviate themselves from the source material to make the characters more like their KyoAni Disappearance counterparts and just stick to Puyo's shit characterization
Of course they won't. It's an adaptation of Yuki-chan so it'd make sense for them to stick to it.
>It's sad that nobody on /a/ really read this manga. Though it's quite fun.
Well, shoving ten dildos up your ass while eating shit can be fun, for some people. That doesnt mean it's a quality time activity. Same with media. Just because its fun doesnt mean it's good.
I'm sure you think it's a fun manga, but that has absolutely zero percent to do with whether it's actually good, and a hundred percent to do with your shit taste.
Basically, it is very apparent that this is work of author of Haruhi-chan. And that way you should take it. In other words if you're like Haruhi-chan, you will like Yuki-chan too.
I'm guessing that's where people like Yuki-chan huh?
The thing about Haruhi-chan is that it's based on the original story. Yuki-chan is taking one part of it, going in the opposite direction the original story, and creating a completely new story from it. As a comedy, it's decent but as a romance manga, it's par for the course in the sense that it drags on through misunderstandings. The biggest problem is that, as a Haruhi fan, it's like a diabetic having to use artificial sweeteners.
tl;dr: It's a shitty substitute
Shoushitsu Yuki wasn't airhead nerdy moemblob, she was shy and quite moeblob. Kyon was still sarcastic Kyon in Shoushitsu and in Haruhi-chan, in Yuki-chan he is blank and average schoolboy MC.
Daily fucking reminder that long haired Haruhi in a bunny suit is a thing in Yuki-chan. Now if you think that isn't something to look forward to then you can go and fuck yourself.
Fuck that I'm curious at Satelight's version of Endless Eight.
there's nothing to be curious about. The director is new to anime, and the rest of the staff doesn't seem very competent. Expect 0 creativity and trolling. They're going to adapt as much as they can and stay faithful to the manga.
Well, they definitely doesn't skip naked long-haired Haruhi.
Yuki recreated the universe how she wanted it to be. In Disappearance she specifically left out Kyon for there to be a chance to go back. This series is more of a "what if?" where she changed Kyon as well. He's probably blank MC because of all the animes she read.
Yall niggers need to keep in mind that Yuki-chan is a comedy manga, of course it's going to exaggerate and/or warp certain aspects of characterization for chuckles. Yes, it actually has a plot, is fairly heavily romance-laden, and you might not find it funny, yes it's not Haruhi-chan, but it is a comedy.
It's more the content that would have been season 3 if Kyon had not gone back. They still meet all the characters from the books and go to the same places. It's just slightly different.
Reminder that Sasaki will be animated in Yuki-chan to foreshadow her appearance in
Haruhi S3in representation of multiple realities, such as the alpha universe and beta universe.
>everyone complaining about Satelight
you wouldn't complain if it were Dogakobo though right? So why complain about Satelight?
Dood, I wouldn't complain if it was fucking Dogakobo. Their animation is god-tier, and they are currently the best studio for the comfy genre.
Then there's Satelight, who has so many consistency issues that they can't even make a OVA series look good.
I have a job now so I can't, I'm afraid I need to play Toradora anyway afterwards
Because Satelight primarily makes underfunded big action anime with CGI that look like shit.
>Because Satelight is literally who?
Hellsing Ultimate I-IV
Fairy Tail S1
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse
Log Horizon S1
White Album 2
Madan no Ou to Vanadis
Fucking brilliant. Both adaptions airing at the same time to foreshadow reality splits with alpha reality and beta reality in the Sighs.
First time in five years that I'm not going to be able to watch Disappearance on the 18th.
Oh god no, I can forgive DEEN doing LH, but DEEN doing Haruhi?
Why cant kyoani just make the rest of haruhi already
See, if KyoAni was doing it you could see this happening. They'd pull some wild shit like Kyon having an identity crisis and pushing the emergency escape key midway through the series, and then it continues with S3.
It's not the same. I watched the raw camrip with /a/, I watched the subbed camrip with /a/, and I watched the BD with /a/.
The only thing they've done right is bring back the original cast, but even then it doesn't guarantee anything. I have no idea what the nip haruhi fanbase is like now, almost 5 years after Disappearance.
I'll gut you. Kind and caring and perfect.
I'm really hoping this will get picked up for a dub with all of the same VAs. I mean, I'm going to love watching it subbed, but getting an official dub, hearing Lee and Freeman and Ruff again would make me overjoyed.
it was actually may 2011, which was almost 4 years ago. And yes it sold 500k+ copies but I heard there was quite a shit ton of advertising done on Kadokawa's part. Nonetheless yeah it did amazingly well.
I can understand wanting to watch some series' dubbed but ever replacing Sugita's voice is terrible. There are just some VAs that can't be beat.
That's the problem. Crispin Freeman is fucking based, but Sugita is fucking based as well. Both are brilliant
Reminder that Freeman is perfect gaijin transfer student
He is great as a dub VA because of how relateable and down to earth he sounds so it's great for people that watch only dubs, but the thing is there's no reason you should need to watch a dub. Sugita is just amazing, watch Kyon's introspective scene in disappearance with both voices and Sugita's voice carries way more weight with everything he says.
Freeman's still good.
>they decide to pick Satelight instead of any of the above
this probably means that the budget for this show is so low they couldn't afford anyone else
Soon anon. Once Haruhi S4 hits, it'll be bound to happen.
>Because it's a sub under Sankyo
>Sankyo handled that Pachinko craze shit
>All Pachinko earnings went to Yuki-chan adaption
>Yuki-chan in the making since Disappearance 2010, meaning this shit's gotta be good
>None of his monologues
Who wrote this shit?
>you will feel all love for series in new anime.
Highly doubt it but we'll see. The fact that this has been in production for 5 years and we have an underwhelming staff isn't reassuring.
Better than Ordet for sure
At least they created Shugo Chara, which was a decent shoujo romance long time ago.
Is it only me who thinks that Blade Dance's MC looks like Ikuto?
Same episode as in they make a single E8 episode and air it eight times, or same episode as in they just slap Satelight logos on the KyoAni E8 episodes? Because the latter would be far funnier.
They sure did.
>episodes leading up to finale look like shit
>turns out the finale doesn't even look good either
All these clueless casuals who are petty enough to be arguing about the studio like it matters are in for a rude awakening once they realize that Yuki-chan is shit and absolutely nothing like any other part of the Haruhi franchise.
The animation is not going to be enough to carry this show and you are going to be mad when they obliterate every incarnation of Yuki's character.
>The animation is not going to be enough to carry this show
You're the one that sounds like a hipster because even the animation in the Haruhi show isn't that great. Especially in the Season 2 "Sigh" episodes.
>You're the one that sounds like a hipster because even the animation in the Haruhi show isn't that great
what the fuck are you on about now
I'm saying that even if the animation in this show is best of the year amazing movie quality it is not going to make up for the writing. So it can be an ugly slideshow for all I care.
And in case you're wondering I own 3 volumes of the manga.
I'm somewhat worried about QUALITY but Satelight did Hellsing Ultimate and White Album which both looked great so I'll stay hopeful
Atleast she has a phase where she seems like the good ol' quiet Yuki. Maybe it'll become a recurring theme, where she becomes more and more like herself before Disappearance, inevitably to the point where she is completely unemotional like old Yuki. And then some sort of data boom errupts, where realities collide, then
Don't worry, satelight found a way.
So it'll only be 12 episodes right?
I've read the manga and there seems like enough content for it but I don't think it's popular enough for 24
S3 won't ever happen.
And even if it did, it would be so shit you'd wish it didn't.
>There's a reason why this franchise is the worst hell on earth... hope.
>Every fan who watched Haruhi Suzumiya all these years has looked up at the light and imagined Season 3.
>Like shipwrecked men turning to seawater for uncontrollable thirst.
It's kind of funny to see everyone complain about changed character personalities in this manga when KyoAni themselves changed up Haruhi's character in the anime, for instance.
The only people I understand are those who wished KyoAni was doing this because they'd probably change the entire thing to be closer to their portrayal of the characters, which I guess is what people would want to see.
Somewhere lost in the internet who knows.
So what we have here is a well animated, sailor moon-esk character driven anime however with the same voice actors. Music from some random guy who composed Lucky Star I guess and a director that is going to have to surprise us.
Y'all better love it.
This suprise director really fits the ideology of Haruhi. New, different, and spontaneous. Hopefully he executes this well; making Yukifags, many others, and maybe even Haruhifags happy and satisfied enough to buy shit ton of BDs to once again reign Haruhi into the market, thus pressuring and supporting the idea of an S3.
