Well, that was some unfortunately sloppy typesetting.
Nearly every fucking fight in Bleach is;
>This is MY MOVE!
>MY MOVE does X, because Y!
>TAKE THIS HA!
>*smirking eye shot*
>I have NO SELL'd your MOVE!
>SIMPLE SLASHING COUNTERATTACK!
No, the point is that it's fucking boring. We've seen this type of "nothing you do will work because I always have something to counter it with" comeback with Aizen a billion times, repeating it on another villain is shitty Kubowriting.
>I have toe power to take your name and give you shitty names
>no you can't
literally the worst. At least it was kinda interesting when he had the power to give or retake powers. Now he apparently has the power to never lose. Because he said so.
Why do you fuckers think there were "special war potentials"
These are the guys that Yhwach would have trouble fighting
Ichigo - has the power of main character
Aizen - has the power of fuck you
Kenpachi - has the power of murder
and I forget the rest unless they were never named, but its likely Urahara is also one because he's way too smart
Learn to read. Juha can restore his powers. We've known this since chapter 607. No one can take anything away from him. You can call it lame or whatever but to say it's an asspull is just inaccurate.
>most killings on Quincys are by other Quincys
>almost all of them, minus Ichigo and his mom, are ruled by their emotions or muh Quincy pride(dik)
Seriously do Jap mangaka do this intentionally?
I just want a shinigami who's shikai allows him to generate cups and manipulate them at will. Countless cups, millions if need be. Porelain, plastic, whatever the situation calls for.
I want that shinigami to show out of nowhere without any introduction, to just start drowning enemies in cups. And for his bankai: mugs. Like cups, but heat resistant.
That guy ought to win it all. Jeff, the shinigami that makes a lot of cups.
Urahara probably isn't a war potential given that Opie ("J") never made any mention of him being a war potential in Hueco Mundo.
Ichigo - his power cannot be stolen, absurdly powerful
Aizen - immortal via hogyoku, broken ability, strong as fuck
Kenpachi - Kubo has basically stated his powerlevel can match anyone he's fighting, strong and broken.
At least one of the SWPs isn't a shinigami. I'm bound to say its Ginjo because of powersharing and that every non-shinigami that isn't Ishida Uryu (who isn't a SWP) is weak as fuck. Halibel is currently the strongest Arrancar. Orihime isn't one. Chad isn't one. That only leaves Ryuken and the Fullbringers. Although I guess technically Ganju isn't a shinigami either...
I think there were 5 so if Urahara was one then there is one more.
>mfw its Chad
That's a good guess, forgot about him.
I'm not sure I'd cross Orihime out, remember Aizen said her powers are hax as fuk so maybe we haven't seen her use it to her full potential.
>I don't know why I have this feeling he married Ishida's mother just because.
You know I'm kinda inclined to agree that. It's obvious she loved him but that faggot has shown no real emotions to anyone but Ichigo's mom.
REMEMBER WHEN HOLLOW IS LIKE POISON TO QUINCY? I MEAN WE HAVE A HOLLOWFIED QUINCY RIGHT OVER HERE BUT THEY ARE POISON, KAY?
Are you for real? Or are you just pretending?
>a nigger says he isn't a nigger
>obviously he isn't a nigger
Mayuri vs the trap was more fun. With him I can understand the long, convoluted explanations because he's a mad scientist and at least we had some funny character interactions.
>Guy get mad if you call him a hollow
>Never used any Hollow power
>Mostly use Quincy power
>Yeah pretty sure that is a Hollow guy
Also his mask grows, similiar to Ichigo
I wish Kubo would do this instead of always coming up with new OP abilities, just something plain ridiculous and see them win fights in a porcelain store using their power to control mugs.
You should be used to this by now
For a second I hoped that maybe Nel would be restored to her older self and she and Grimmjow would bust out Halibel and the three of them would provide back up but at this point there's no reason for them to show up.
>Don't name something that I can't immediately discredit you for
I would not be surprised if the quincy already have something to counter vaizards, those guys were behind soul society for 1000, they already knew everthing about SC, how could they not know about vaizards and have prepared some counter measure?
So Rose and Kensei are for real dead right? What about Rangiku?
Not that anon, but
>Explains why he is mad when getting called an Arrancar then
Cause he doesn't see himself as just being some arrancar anymore, he feels he's more evolved, he doesn't fight like one, he doesn't use ressurecion. He thinks he's above that shit and something special, doesn't mean that he isn't physically and biologically?/soully? an arrancar
I think Rose and Kensei are dead for real though. They were killed by that little shit who plays with his imagination. Rangiku could be either. Last we saw of her she was wounded. That and the fact that she's a fairly popular character with a lot of screen time tells me she's likely alive but who knows, this is the last arc.
Also, which hair color do you guys prefer for her? Regular blonde like in the manga or strawberry blonde like in the anime? I prefer strawberry blonde.
Strawberry blonde is much better, for sure.
Also, even if he weren't fighting the final boss, the paintbrush guy with the name I can never keep in my head was destined to lose. He literally just started throwing and explaining his powers in his first fight, that is a fucking death sentence.
Everyone in this thread complaining about Yhwach winning are chumps. He's the fucking BBEG--he's got plot armor. Why do you honestly think anyone except Ichigo with the help of literally everyone and a need to save his friends because Yhwach is about to kill everything can stop him?
So right now who's left from the Zero Division? The fat chick, the spiderchick, and the sauna guy right? And now the Elite 4 Quincies are back, presumably for Ichigo and his friends to fight.
You would think such rules could be bent in times of such crisis.
It was pretty lame.
>You would think such rules could be bent in times of such crisis.
This is the Gotei 13 we're talking about. People have restricted their powers for whatever reason countless times through out the series. I don't know why anyone would be surprised by now.
At this point, it's stupid to even have him fighting anyone. All of this asspulling should be saved for an asspull escalation against Ichigo. That's literally the only way to make either of them interesting.
Of course not, Ishida is the man. He's easily the strongest of the Karakura crew aside from Ichigo himself.
True I guess.
Of course not, she is pure. She probably fantasizes about massaging Unahana's feet after a long day of work.
You're fucking retarded. Yhwach forced the arrancar into his army. Any arrancar/hollow was killed mercilessly meaning they were seen as niggers. Ivan as a nig sees himself above that (despite the fact that he is one) and part of a special breed of Yhwach's army.
TL;DR kill yourself
Seriously, what the fuck is happening on the left panel? Are his eyes merging or something?
Will Ishida die? Or will he be saved by the power of love?
>his name is literally the Jewish God YHWH
>hurr durr how can he be the "almighty" durrr
>Kubo literally throws out Judeo-Christian theology at you and sets up Yhwach as some sort of deity-king
>there are retards out there who will still complain despite Kubo forshadowing the shit out of this crap
This isn't even reader level 1, this is just retardation at this point.
It's probably the next OP power behind 'Almighty'
I think no matter how powerful the enemy is, he can use the 'Balance' to literally equalize the playing field or maybe "tip the scales" to his favor by controlling the reality around him and his opponent or increasing his strength/reiatsu to be able to cut the enemy (as seen against Jackie Chan Wolverine)
Has anyone asked the important question?
If Yhwach has this Almighty ability, how the heck did he lose to Yamamoto 1,000 years ago?
I mean from what we know, Yamamoto didn't even have or use his Zanka no Tachi West, East, South or North in their first fight.
this was the shittiest chapter of bleach i've ever read. literally 6 weeks of fighting for fucking nothing
fuck kubo and his retarded fucking asspulls. even naruto doesnt do this stupid shit
He technically didnt lose to Yamamoto. Yamamoto couldn't kill Yhwach and it was probably due to the Almighty ability.
Maybe his powers weren't mature enough back then when he looked like Fake-Zangetsu since he was still growing.
>Its just that the execution leaves a lot to be desired
Besides the whole Yugioh you activated my trap card battle, how else is Kubo suppose to show Yhwach is literally God?
Not only that but it's not like he's invincible. He still isn't at the transcendent level like Butterflaizen and edgy Ichigo were seeing as how he couldn't sense the reiatsu of Monk's Shikai and got BTFO for 90% of the fight. And Aizen was still able to fuck with Yhwach.
I feel like Orihime had way more screen time in the HM arc than Ishida has had in this arc. Hell I think Orihime had more screen time in the Fullbringer arc too and that was supposed to be Chad's arc.
I'm just saying man, Kubo could've shown that he was a god in two chapters. Instead he decided to waste 7 chapters on a bullshit fight that hyped up Monk Geatsu winning. The "A" almighty bullshit is an asspull because he should've restored his powers in the second fucking chapter of the fight
i wish reading level faggots would fuck off, this is a fuckin' manga.
>Besides the whole Yugioh you activated my trap card battle, how else is Kubo suppose to show Yhwach is literally God?
Maybe a little back and forth fighting between the two? That would've been nice.
It was mostly Monk slapping him around and explaining his powers. And then all of a sudden, I am become God and BAM, fight over.
That's a lie. The Monk was jobbing Yaweh the entire fight until he pulled he used his bullshit lackeys.
And that also brings up the question as to why the Monk didn't use his powers on his lackeys. He could've stomped them in fucking seconds, and then finished off Yaweh. It's not like he wasn't informed of what they could do. Fucking kubo
You kill yourself you fucking cuck, and stop putting text in my posts
Any good hentai on apacci or halibel's fraccion?
AAAAAAHHHH!! WHAT THE FUCKINH FUCK??!! HOLY SHIT THAT?S SO FUCKED UP!!! OMG WHAT IS THAT SHIT???!! FUCK IM' NOT SLEEPING TONIGHT THANKS TO THIS GODAWFUL PICTURE HOPE YOU'RE SATISFIDE YOU FUCKING FAGGOT!!
>mfw 7 weeks wasted with plot shit that couldve been condensed into a single chapter
>until he pulled he used his bullshit lackeys.
Learn how to fucking write. No wonder you can't understand a simple shonen battle manga.
>Monk didn't use his powers on his lackeys
He didn't need and by the time he did Yhwach had already confronted him.
REMEMBER WHEN BANKAI IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUCKING GIGANTIC? YEAH ME NEITHER
>fights too short
>waaaah we neva get to get good fights, fuck kubo!
>fights more than a couple chapters long
>waaaah we knew he was going to be jobbed, fuck you kubo!
Here's a solution, dont read shonen.
>Learn how to fucking write.
its 1am in the morning you euroshit, go fuck yourself
>He didn't need
the pot calling the kettle blue, fuck you
>He didn't need and by the time he did Yhwach had already confronted him.
thats bullshit, its known that the monk's bankai can splatter everywhere. he could've easily defeated them, but no, they were essential to kubo's asspull
>Here's a solution, dont read shonen.
But everything else is moeshit
Why do you keep reading? What's her name?
But he doesnt always have a counter. Anything he sees is counterable as an ability. The only way to win, therefore, is an ability of nothing but raw physical power and speed. That means the top two candidates that don't rely on beams or abilities for 99% of their combat ability are also the two strongest in Soul Society and one is on the warpath at this moment.
Juha can still be killed. His power is more along the lines of countering any OP abstract ability. He can still get jobbed around by a being with more reiatsu or at a higher dimension as was shown by most of his fight with the monk
Definitely for Orihime
and also Mayuri
>pot calling the kettle blue
This has to be on purpose.
I never claimed to not make any errors, but at least my posts are coherent.
>thats bullshit, its known that the monk's bankai can splatter everywhere. he could've easily defeated them, but no, they were essential to kubo's asspull
Yeah obviously no other RG member could easily defeat Yhwach's elite guard. It's not like there was an entire chapter dedicated to Nimiya easily cutting them down or anything.
You still haven't explained how it's an asspull.
Sad to say but I think he's had his last great moment. We'll probably get a little of him near the end but probably just a page or two.
>talking about your technique during the whole fight
it doesnt bothers me when its only here and there but during the whole chapter?
It was always pretty obvious Ichibe couldn't really kill Ywach - if you kill the final boss, the series ends, and there's obviously a lot left to resolve. The fact that Ichibe was succeeding against him so thoroughly should have tipped anyone off that the tables would be turned pretty quick - if he had just been holding Bach off, it would have boded better for him.
This is just after he kills Ivan.
There is one question though - if Hollows are poison to Quincies, then why doesn't Ivan's Hollow power destroy him? He has at least some Hollow reiatsu in him, and just some was enough to nullify the bankai stealing emblem things.
Unlikely. He knew about uryu succeeding juha before even the other quincy did, got to lead his own expeditionary force, and was tasked with holding off ichigo during the invasion.
Opie was priviledged even smong the sternritter.
So what matchups are we gonna have besides the obvious Ichigo vs Yhwach?
I can't even remember which quincies are left, but we still have yet to see the bankais of Kyouraku, Ukitake, Urahara and Yoruichi. Also I guess Grimmjow must have acquired a Segunda Etapa or else he's gonna get shitted on.
I understand you logic, but it doesn't seem to work. If you give an arrancar Quincy powers, they are Quincies. I suppose you could say "Because humanity is dominant in an arrancar, they are able to become Quincies" - but if that was the case, then giving the captains with stolen bankai hollow-pills wouldn't be enough, because humanity predominated in them even after the pills. Also, the antipathy between hollow and Quincy doesn't seem to be exclusive to the Quincy - note how White immediately left his fight with Isshin when he sensed Masaki, the Quincy.
House niggers think themselves not a nigger. More news at eleven.
Oh, and juha stated that he was an arrancar when discussing with toofsy that he can always recruit a few more from mexico if need be.>>118227168
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet. How the hell are Ichigo and co supposed to get to the Royal Realm?
They're not taking the kido route, instead opting for the direct route by flying there, but here's a catch, they don't have a King's Key at present. Unless Ichigo's entire attire is a King's Key then the one he had was destroyed by Candy's Galvano Javelin.
Did the RG make him into an honorary member, or something? Did he too get one grafted into his bones for good measure by absorbing its reishi somehow?
bleach arcs are so ridiculously long, I sort of miss the old days when Ichigo just went hunting for that ghoul of the week with his buddies.
This probably happened like, once in the entire series, but it was still enjoyable
I know I'm late on this but
Was anyone else mad that they killed Candice off screen? I sort of figured those fights would be rushed a little but it was still disappointing.
I thought she was killed? So she was only down but not out?
Me too. I liked Bambietta but there's no hope for her.
That was BS. I did notice that Renji seemed worried when Bazz-B was being killed. Maybe they had become bros during the course of their fight. Or maybe he was just surprised.
>if Hollows are poison to Quincies, then why doesn't Ivan's Hollow power destroy him?
Cause Ivan's not a Quincy, he's an arrancar (hollow) so it's not poison for him to wield a quincy cross or whatever it was that he had and which was given to him as part of joining (being forced into really) Yhwach's army or whatever
That's what I got too.
After Mayuri's fight for me so pretty much once things started to get heated up in the RP. At that point you know Ywach is going to waste a bunch of people until Ichigo arrives.
Liltotto said the girl group was naturally the stronger group of quincies so it's more likely that she's alive. Also, Accutrone Colonel Sanders lived and appeared just fine so she should be fine.
It's also implied that there's going to be a rebellious group of quincy so they might be used for later chapters
I doubt they are aware of all the people currently headed to the Royal Realm to help them and they were also present when they granted Ichigo passage the last time, that might be a condition. If anyone is granting passage right now it must be Ichigo.
>Liltotto said the girl group was naturally the stronger group of quincies so it's more likely that she's alive.
I think she meant that the ones left standing were the ones who were considered stronger beforehand so it wasn't surprising that they had survived. Candice didn't so it seems she was one of the weaker girls.
>Liltotto said the girl group was naturally the stronger group of quincies so it's more likely that she's alive.
No, she said the Quincy left in Soul Society are the stronger side when compared to the Shinigami in the war, but that was before His Majesty took away their powers.
In Badkarma/Cnet's translation Liltotto said that she was taken out but that nor Candice nor Meninas should be dead.
So how many chapters do you guys think are left? Will we get to chapter 700?
I'm pretty sure it was Meninas who said that Liltotto and herself were stronger than the Quincys that Byakuya cut down with Senbonzakura.
...Which means that they're stronger than the guy who fought on par with Shunsui and blew out his eye. We never got to see them fight seriously either which is pretty disappointing.
In order to be as long as the arrancar arc it would need to continue to around 2016. Apparently this was supposed be the longest arc, unless there's been some drastic change in plans.
I can't recall if its said but I believe it was implied to be Byakuya. He took down three Quincies, chances are poor Catnip was one of them.
Pretty sure he did during the Fullbringer arc.
Kubo decided that it is easier to have a guy describe what his attack at length does instead of just showing it.
Whatever. With the cool monk out of the way, we are one step closer to seeing the Soul King and the ending.
Just got caught up after a 2 year break from Bleach. Marathoning it was pretty fun. Question though. After his fight with Bambi Komamura is seen reverting back to a wolf. Is this how he will spend the remainder of his life? I thought he was going to die since he, you know, ripped his fucking heart out. I guess we didn't see what will become of him though so it's still up in the air. If he does survive, does this mean his time as a captain for the G13 is over? Doesn't seem like he will be able to do much at this point. At least he got a cool fight to send him off.
considering kubo does care about half the sternritter, it would have been cool to see Bromamura flatten a couple of ritters with his immortal dog powered bankai, rather than just bambi
Yeah seriously, I mean Byakuya and Kenpachi both took out 4 Sternritter each. Komamura barely took out 1 and even that didn't really count because she's still around. He got gipped hard.
He'd easily be the most dangerous if we ever saw practical uses for any of these powers outside 1-on-1 fights. If Kubo ever got around to showing us how the gotei handled swarms of soldat running around the place, he'd easily have been the most effective person aside from Yama just setting the entire landscape on fire. When he's only trying to smash one little person all his benefits are just wasted. I'm kind of surprised that between him and Bambietta Kubo didn't make a point to emphasize how the fight between the two of them probably should have totaled the entire landscape.
The Almighty power is just a fancy way of saying "Hyper Adaptability". Essentially, since Juha Bach can distribute powers, take away powers, and understand powers, his power would be the ability to become immune to other's powers.
It's much less of an asspull and more of a built up reveal. This also explains why people like Gremmy AKA "The Visionary" just can't overthrow Juha Bach as he is immune to his powers.
The only drawback is that Juha Bach has to see, understand and feel said power happen to himself.
I think it would have been more interesting for Yhwach to die in this battle and then resurrect himself through Ishida's body as a vessel.
these "lol your attack didn't work on me" tactics are way beyond old.
>Monk: My power makes your power not work and makes me win instantly!
>Bach: Well my power makes me immune to your power and also win any fight instantly!
Holy fuck, it's like they're schoolchildren.
Ichibe's power is the power to cut names, blotch out names, and rename things into something different.
Juha Bach's power is to give power, take power and become immune to other's power once he understands it.
They both have a bit of triforce of power going for themselves.
>become immune to other's power once he understands it.
It wouldn't be bleach without 'characters would easily win if they didn't fucking explain exactly what they were doing the enemy'
to be fair, I think Anon is 100% incorrect
I don't think it has anything to do with adaptability.
I think it's just that he's doing a hail mary with this assault on the soul king. We know that he basically went into a coma the last time he fought (and, didn't he say covered in darkness?) and so now he's clearly conserving his energy as much as possible, and only using enough power to deal with the opponent at hand.
It's also the reason he has amassed an army when he's so powerful.
He's slowly powering up as he gets closer and closer to his goal, where before he wasn't even willing to FIGHT.
I think the almighty is just literally, his might cannot be overcome.
It doesn't have to be explained by the user. Juha Bach just has to figure out said power himself. Like for example, Juha Bach didn't understand how Aizen's power worked and when he went over to talk to Aizen, Juha Bach was affected by such.
However, once Juha Bach understood what happened to him, he instantaneously was able to adapt himself with Aizen's power.
I am still waiting to see what happens with halibel.
Also waiting to see what have become of komamura now that he is a doge, what happened with ganju and the fullbringers and most important of all Kenpachi
I'm sure one the final arc is inevitably animated there will be a slight resurgence of Bleach popularity. Will we get some more doujins? We can only pray and hope for the best.
The Aizen fight had plenty of good symbolism
Your "third eye" is a symbol of clairvoyance. But at the time of his fight with Ichigo he was blinded by his arrogance. Its pretty damn ironic
It's fucking stupid, and I dont even care.
The writer basically wrote a character that wins, because "I win." is his ability. Why is he strong? Because. That's his power.
Not because of abilities, or technique, or counters, or ANYTHING based on the concepts written about in the series (bakudou, shunpo, reiatsu, reishi manipulation....)...no, he wins, because he does.
THAT IS SO FUCKING BORING AND ANNOYING.
What's worse, is that obviously, none of that will matter, because, of course, because, Ichigo will win. He'll win, not because of techniques, counters, logic, or being smart, clever, stronger, faster, better-he'll win because the other guy's 'I Win" button wont work againts Ichigo's hidden main character "I Win." button.
FUCK THIS WHOLE STORY.
But for some reason this feels more stupid. I couldn't place exactly why, something about this chapter just felt incredibly dumb to me, way more than any chapter recently.
Who said he didnt complain? he's complaining about the new stupid bullshit.
Seriously, there's no wonder why no one really cares about Bleach and it's always nearly canceled. Is there even an anime anymore?
The writer just fucking gave up.
And just after I posted>>118233940 and>>118233971 explained exactly why, putting my thoughts into words better than I ever could.
It's like, monk guy spends all this time explaining his absurdly powerful power, and Bach wins because fuck you his power is just better.
I personally hate that.
It's completely out of reason and logic. Why bother explaining all the tenents of the fucking series and how each one works, like reiatsu, reishi, shunpo, sonido, and spellcasting with bakudou, and then just go "FUCK THAT SHIT, HE WINS BECAUSE, HE'S JUST SO COOL.".
it's like a teenagers's vision on coolness.
Seriously, if at least they explained a reason why he's so fucking omnipotent, I'd be down for it. Just...explain that... "as a higher dimensional being, he's actually untouchable by lower dimensional folks- they're just harming his avatar for lower dimensional interaction, and that he can just recreate it at will out of pure reishi. He's literally sentient reishi, and as thus, beyond physical entities."
Done. You establish rules, and how they are broken or surpassed. You just dont go.... I dont know...."FRESH" and win.
His power was pretty clearly explained.
He becomes immune to any ability he understands. He can understand anything if sees it. The solution?
Hit him with a power he hasn't seen before.
"The Almighty" is obviously hyperbole.
What the fuck is 'understanding', and WHY is he understanding it?
Does that mean that by understanding punches, he becomes immune to punching and physical force? If he understands a sword slash, which is super fucking simple to comprehend, he cant be slashed because LOL IMMUNITY?
That's fucking stupid.
Maybe if they explained, within the context of the series -bakudou-, reishi, reiatsu manipulation, that he's doing SOMETHING to counter other people's skills? COOL.
He's literally going "Naw, dawg. Naw."
I'm not sure where you guys are getting this "I win" button is Yhwaxch's power thing from, cause it['s not
The ability to understand all aspects of something just likely lets Yhwach know it's weaknesses, limits, range, how to counter it, the best way to counter it and whatever, it's not just some "I get it now" and the opponent just dies out of nowhere, Ichibei just wasn't fast enough to react to a holy arrow attack (not entirely sure if that's what it was but I'm guessing).
It's kinda like a much faster and improved version of how that espada guy studied the fuck out of Renji and Uryu and came up with ways to fight them, in this case Yhwach just gets an understanding faster and likely also knows how to counter stuff using his own regular abilities/quincy power.
You're jumping to conclusions. For now, we can assume that it mainly deals with specialized reatsu based abilities. Let's wait until the next few chapters where we might get a more proper explanation.
Again, what if there's nothing to 'understand', like just a dude doing punches and slashes like Kenpachi?
Will he UNDERSTAND his sword swings and just become immune to physical damage?
There is NO WAY to "counter" the power of Ichibei's bankai. There is no way to reject it or get your name back. Except Bach does it anyway, because his power is an automatic counter to whatever happens to him, regardless of what that is and whether it makes any sense to be able to undo it.
>yfw Ichigos Getsuga turns into a bow that shoots a sword that makes a bow
Guys, if you read the chapter where his past as a blind kid still let him do miracles, he clearly says that because of his godlike power people around him started calling him YUHHABAHHA. So his almighty power doesn't come from its name, it's the other way around. Monk erasing his "nickname" had no effect because his asspull power is not related to it.
He could probably come up with the perfect counter to his fighting style. But there still isn't sufficient evidence to suggest he can just make himself immune to basic physical harm.
>However, once Juha Bach understood what happened to him, he instantaneously was able to adapt himself with Aizen's power.
But he didnt. Even a while after meeting Aizen, he still wouldnt understand his power. When about to leave SS after the first invasion, he was like "He must have thrown off my sense of time or something", he clearly didnt understand Aizens powers well enough.
My theory is that the war potentials were primarily the people whose powers were a mystery to YHWH, so he wanted to personally meet an study them. As such, i think we can safely write off anyone who he had a chance to meet and didnt. That includes everyone who was in SS and wasnt visited by him.
How can you not understand this when it was spelled out? In the quasi-philosophical realm of Bleach, not having a name means something has no power. That's all there is to it.
>"I get it now" and the opponent just dies out of nowhere
This is exactly what happened. Bach went "I understand how your power works", and Monk's power instantly stopped working and then he died. AFTER Monk specifically spent a while explaining how his power makes it impossible for Bach to win. It's two instant-win unbeatable powers clashing, and Bach just wins because, well, plot.
It's like does that thing like a kid does when play fighting-
"I got you behind your back! I SHOT you, you're dead!"
"NUH UH, I AM IMMUNE TO BULLETS, and , and, they bounce off me and you're dead! DOUBLE DEAD."
Fuck, this is just stupid.
Why even write a character like this?
Whatever Bach's power and whatever happens next chapter I think we can all agree that a) it was an asspull, b) if there were any justice in the world the monk would have killed Bach and we find out that Ishida and Haschwald have slipped off to the Soul King or something.
>people are actually surprised that Juices Box is broken as all fuck
He'll gain an understanding of how Kenpachi fights, how he swings, when he swings, how much force behind it, how his torso, legs, whatever else move when he's about to do something, and also the best time to strike, when to dodge, when to go in for the kill, etc.
>There is NO WAY to "counter" the power of Ichibei's bankai
Except you don't know that, everything has limits and nothing and no one has absolutely no weaknesses anon. Yhwach's ability let's him get a grasp of that. For all we know there's a certain reiatsu vibration you can achieve to get the black/white off, a certain way of changing/shaping/using reiatsu to make the black and name come off, whatever, Yhwach just happens to know it because his ability lets him understand and know it.
>Bach went "I understand how your power works", and Monk's power instantly stopped working and then he died
Yhwach likely just used the knowledge he gained to do something to counter the Bankai thing, everything has weakness and a way around, to stop it or counter it, Yhwach just exploits that.
>AFTER Monk specifically spent a while explaining how his power makes it impossible for Bach to win
Lots of people wll tell you how it's impossible to counter their attack, how they're power has no limits, can't be countered, how it's perfect "this" or "that", blah, blah, blah, doesn't make it true, not sure why you think there's no way around something cause the guy who has it says you can't. For example, Shinji sure as heck thought his sense thing was impossible to counter, Aizen sure as fuck proved him wrong. That Fear quincy sure as heck thought his ability was impossible to counter too, and where is he now, he's dead.
>Yhwach likely just used the knowledge he gained to do something to counter the Bankai thing, everything has weakness and a way around, to stop it or counter it, Yhwach just exploits that.
Great, fucking tell me what the weakness was, because the way it happened and the way Monk explained it I'm not seeing any. Even the best you can do is say "for all we know" or "everything has a weakness and Yhwach exploited it", and that's a really, really bad defense.
>Great, fucking tell me what the weakness was
We don't know yet, they'll probably explain it next week, but the key is that Yhwach knows however. But not sure why you see this as any different than the other times we got no explanation for stuff though. For example, how did Aizen counter Shinji's sense switch, we have no idea, all we can throw out is that maybe he used Kyoka Suigetsu in some manner, but it's all just theory
>that's a really, really bad defense.
Why? Cause you say so?
There are lots of examples of a character thinking that their ability was the best, the strongest, impossible to defeat, and time and time again they got beat when the protagonist (and sometimes antagonist, like Starrk understanding Ukitake's shikai) or whoever they were facing, understood and got a firm grasp of the opponent and their ability and found a way to counter it and beat it. Shinji, Fear quincy, Barragan, Mask de Masculine, that arrancar that Uryu beat back in Mexico with the wings and that Mayuri brought back to life, and a shit load of others, including those who's powers though they didn't hype them as being the most powerful, were very tricky and you needed to understand things quickly if you didn't wanna die, Kyoraku and Ukitake.
>Why? Cause you say so?
No, it really is. Saying 'everything must have a weakness and that's how a character won, by exploiting', is a terrible explanation for how a character beat another one. Every single explanation you've came up with for how a character managed to beat another character is baseless speculation (don't even try to pretend 'there's a certain reiatsu vibration you can achieve to get the black/white off, a certain way of changing/shaping/using reiatsu to make the black and name come off," have any basis in anything), that's a major issue. Even if we DO get an explanation for how Bach won next week, while definitely better, that's still pretty bad, because a month-long fight should be resolved by things introduced and used in the fight, not just explained away afterwards.
> But not sure why you see this as any different than the other times we got no explanation for stuff though. For example, how did Aizen counter Shinji's sense switch, we have no idea, all we can throw out is that maybe he used Kyoka Suigetsu in some manner, but it's all just theory
I don't, both are awful.
Essentially, I don't see how this is any different then Monk getting hit with a nuke then dying, then Bach explaining afterward that his power is actually to summon nuclear missiles, because both are bullshit ways to end a fight. Is it too much to ask for things to be set up in a story before they happen?
In practice, this is similar to Adam VS say Lucifer.
Adam named all things under the sun, as allowed by God (in this case, Ichibei)
Satan has his own intrinsic nature. Knowing his name allows one to understand him, but his name is a natural continuation of his existence as an aspect of God. In this case YHWH.
Which is apt since Lucifer passes himself for God.
>Saying 'everything must have a weakness and that's how a character won, by exploiting', is a terrible explanation for how a character beat another one
so it's bad, because you say it's bad? NYou're not backing up anything you're saying, you're just repeating the same thing
>how a character managed to beat another character is baseless speculation
U wot m8?
Rukia countered Fear Quincy by freezing herself to the point that his fear couldn't affect or have a noticable affect on her, she or he even says it
Uryu beat that arrancar chick by understanding how her wings I think it was, vibrated at a certain speed, Uryu then promptly made a blade of reiatsu or whatever that vibrated even faster and used that to beat her, he also says so
Starrk "studied" and observed both Kyoraku and Ukitake, he even says so and Kyoraku and Ukitake even point out how he picked up on stuff fast, Ukitake's shikai after like three shots (then Starr pointed out how based on his understanding of Ukitake's shikai that it can't take multiple shots, that's when Starrk used cero metralleta, he even says that's why he's doing it) and Kyoraku's irooni game
Renji noticed how Mask got stronger and healed the more the James cheered (weakness), he even tried to kill James to stop Mask from getting stronger/healing, he even says it (pic related)
>don't even try to pretend 'there's a certain reiatsu vibration
That part is speculation, never denied that, doesn't mean that there isn't in fact a way to counter Ichibei's bankai and that Yhwach doesn't know exactly how
If you don't understand that having things happen then coming up with explanations for how they happened after the fact is bad writing I don't know how else to explain it to you. If you have to resort to speculation about why one character beat another character in a fight, there's a really big problem there. I'm not talking about any of the past fights, I'm talking about this one. The only justification anybody has provided so far with how Bach won this fight is speculation about weaknesses and saying it will probably get explained later, and that's bad writing. I legitimately don't know any other way to explain it.
Oh and now I'm going to sleep, it's damn near 5:00am here in the East Coast, don't think this thread will even still be here by the time I wake up so I won't be able to reply to anything
>That part is speculation, never denied that, doesn't mean that there isn't in fact a way to counter Ichibei's bankai and that Yhwach doesn't know exactly how
That's what I'm trying to fucking say. If there is, it should've been introduced before he used it to win.If there isn't, and Bach just won anyway, that's even worse, because it means Bach's power is legitimately a "fuck you I win" button and he beat Ichimonji just because. The fact that you cannot provide any evidence beyond speculation is the best demonstration of all my issues with this chapter.
What is a cliffhanger?
Its a weekly series, of course some things happen and are explained the following week.
Nevermind the fact that we know all Quincy abilities come from YHWH. He gave them, they happen when he gives a piece of his soul.
He was named because he has that capability, not the other way around.
All that was shown prior to the fact. Perhaps we will have a more in-depth explanation, but every Quincy who talked about how YHWH gave them their powers did so knowingly. He understands who his powers are given to, and what they do. Everything has been foreshadowed here.
The cross and the sword are not his powers, so they can be taken away. Not something intrinsic to a being that has no equal, no other known instances.
I don't have this problem. I just take what I'm explicitly told, read between the lines, take in subtext and cues from the art, and use my imagination, and I end up with a pretty coherent understanding of everything that goes on. I do not experience any disconnect while reading Bleach, because I insert possibilities to make connections between characters, mechanisms, and events. I'm never left feeling, "why did this happen this way? there was no indication", because the art is so communicative and the subtext is so heavy that I have a lot of material to draw conclusions from, even if things aren't outright narrated.
Look, as much as I think these past few chapters were bullshit Bachs powers were adequately explained. It was stated many chapters ago that so long as he understands a power it loses its effect on him. At the same time, not only did Aizens power work on him but old Yama had the potential to kill him (presumably because he didnt understand the full extent of Zanka no Taichi) hence why Yama is now dead. New Bach got a chance to read him from the sidelines at full power while Yama got worn down by Lloid who I think was also bullshit too.
The last few chapters were full of shit though because it didnt show Monk and Bach on equal footing or something similar. This was a stereotypical Bleach fight where the winner sandbagged while the loser explained his power which plays into Bachs dumb power.
Yes its a shitty power but it was already introduced sufficiently. The storytelling can be much better though.
1. Don't trust the mangapanda translation.
2. Yhwach apparently has the ability to see things in many dimensions and fully comprehend the mechanisms and conclusions of what is happening. His eyes do a weird thing when he is explicitly using this power. It seems like he does get an extra pair of pupils.
I have a question!
The LD50 guy was promoted to Ywach's elite squad at the last moment. Does this mean Gremmy was originally part of it (before he accidentally killed himself against Kenpachi)?
Him and Soifon. I was kinda mad that Infinite Shunko turned out to be worthless.
They're actually solidly mid-tier when you think about it.
Upper: Yama, Shunsui, Ukitake, Unohana, Aizen
Mid: Kenpachi, Byakuya, Gin
Low: Tousen, Komamura, Soifon, Hitsugaya, Mayuri (in terms of raw spiritual pressure, since Ishida thought he had a chance against Mayuri at first glance)
I could see it.
Insert Sharingan joke here
Ganju is in Urahara's rocket with Ichigo's group. Same team as the original SS invasion, minus Ishida.
And I think Komamura died.
Doesn't need to be. BG9 didn't get hit with her bankai until later, so if she had defeated him with shunko first, the contradiction wouldn't come up.
I really dont get how a nigga walks with shoes like this
I used to bone a shinigami like you, then she tuk an arro 2da knee!
But seriously ayy grl, u wan sum fuk?
But even for an ichigo fight it would be boring as shit. His fights are all about I'm behind you and throw more/heavier mana juiced swings. He's not the conceptual asspull spammer, and comparing that sort of fight against ichigo's is just boring. Bach will be able to go toe to toe with ichigo's beam spam and speed whilst also being able to pull out conceptual powers.
This shit was better when it was normal over-sized and incredibly unwieldy weapons with a few elemental powers thrown in. The scales only gotten fucking ridiculous.
I just feel that in a series where characters info dump their powers, then act like full retards (sending mooks by the thousands to die, not going full power right away, explaining their power) combined with the sheer volume of lying both from character we know could be bullshitting and from unreliable sources (narration and info dumps from characters who 'don't know the real truth') the series becomes a complete clusterfuck where nothing can be taken as truth or real ever, because at a moments notice (rather masterfully I guess), a few lines from the 'latest truth talker' can change everything.
I just don't like this kind of writing because there's always some long off master mind or liar pulling everyone along and it's technically perfectly fine from a writing standpoint.
>I'm never left feeling, "why did this happen this way? there was no indication"
But do you never think "Really? REALLY? Fucking is this real? KUBOOOOOOOOO" because there's just so much that should provoke such a reaction especially everything concerning Aizen.
I'm guessing double iris's mean something in nip mythology or whatever
GODDAMMIT, why is Bleach so slow? Nothing happens every chapter.
How many chapters have they been countering each other? In the end, none of Ichibei's moves matter because he's just a fucking Juha Bach fodder. All this shit could've been compressed in 1 chapter. Goddamn.
>That was a good attack!
>It's a miracle you stabbed yourself in the foot by accident instead!
Even if there is an explanation to it and its foreshadowed its just not a very fun character to watch. Gigi with her zombies and Mayuri with his crazy drugs are fun. Byakuya with his kido and Senbonzakura are fun. Ywach just doesn't seem as fun to watch.
>every woman has either cowtits or FC
I was kind if bummed their meal happened off screen, it would have been kind of fun to see byakuya break character and do the cliche shonen hero eat all the food really fast bit
>This shit was better when it was normal over-sized and incredibly unwieldy weapons with a few elemental powers thrown in. The scales only gotten fucking ridiculous.
Pretty much. At this point a lot of these powers just don't lend themselves to actually interesting fight scenes a lot and instead devolve into turn based explanation based fighting.
The thing is I actually like a lot of what he does. A lot of the concepts are interesting, his characters, at first, are fairly interesting and have neat designs. Its just that at the core a lot of interesting characters and concepts and ideas are held together by really weak writing.
>Kubo is literally worse than Kishi
Are you retarded?
Kishi's problem is that he had a solid theme but drove it into the ground with one hand and started beating a dead horse with the other
Kubo's problem is he has a lot of great ideas but has the writing skills of a 13 year old
So I've heard. Nips once again confirmed for shit taste.
You forgot no backgrounds.
That said I do enjoy his art. I'm not going to pretend there isn't same face and some similar looking characters but for the most part I like it. Maybe its because I've been reading it so long that it's just inevitably grown on me. Also the grills are cute.
>Kubo is literally worse than Kishi when it comes to writing
I beg to differ.
Kubo's main sin is the glaciar pacing, that's for sure.
Kishimoto might not be worse than him in that regard, but that doesn't mean Kishi is a better writer.
Kubo has yet to shit upon the foundations of his story and LITERALLY have a villain be defeated by the power of friendship. Kishi has done this.
Kubo has written some stupid shit for sure, but he doesn't come close to Kishi levels.
>I do enjoy his art. I'm not going to pretend there isn't same face and some similar looking characters but for the most part I like it
At least you admit it
there is nothing wrong with liking the art style but it pains me when fans can't admit that their favorite things have problems
the issue is when idiots try to make it sound like kubo ~can't~ draw different faces. He very very clearly can, the choice to make certain characters with certain faces is just a matter of pumping out the kinds of characters that will do well with his readers. There's no other reason we've gotten a Byakuya and Renji clone every arc. It's because the fans like the generic cold an wild pretty boy combination, fans like the generic inflatable chest bimbo, fans like the angry faced loli. But when it comes to the comedy and occasional freakshow characters you'll notice Kubo just does whatever he wants and almost always far from the generic pretty faces he sticks to for the sake of readership. (Szayel may have been the one big exception to that, and Aaronierro if we count Kaien's face)
I'm the first to admit my favorite things have problems. Sometimes I don't notice them myself and even when others point it out it doesn't bother me but that doesn't mean I won't admit its potentially a flaw that can turn some people off.
The backgrounds thing is a good example. I never really noticed surprisingly but when it was pointed out to me I saw it everywhere. It didn't bother me too much but whenever I see an egregious example of it I chuckle.
Same face is same face though, regardless of the reason. If anything its more of an indictment on Kubo that he's willing to pump out generic faces for the sake of fan service when he can do better.
The girls are cute so I don't mind too much but I can see why ti would bother other people.
He is the only character in the series whose powers are inherent to himself, and not awakened through different methods (Asauchi, loss of heart, broken mask, a piece of his soul,
being the MC)
That's all there is to it, and it was explained.
No, we didn't. We know his powers have limits but we don't know the specifics. Why didn't he try imagining Kenpachi's bones as cookies? Why did destroying his body cause his imagination to "reach its limit" How come Yachiru's cookie bones went away when he lost focus been then he claimed that the meteor would stick around even if he died? I could go on.
Also, as an aside, his imagination generally sucked. I want skyscraper sized regenerating acid demons and rapid fire nuke launchers. Not lava and machine guns.
Ywach apparently has every power except the ability to make me give a shit about him.
They did explain it. What he sees, he counters. it's literally how it sounds. It's probably due to his level of reiatsu and the only clear weakness will be physical speed and force which the old guy in charge of soul society had in droves. It's just he got played like a deck of cards and Ywatch knew how he'd act. Problem with guys like Ichigo is that he has Quincy power, Hollow power and Shinigami power all in one package and is effectively uncounterable when he goes all out, and with Kenpachi is the sheer combat tolerances he pressures. Think about EVERY fight that Kenpachi ever had before Gremmy and how his fight went. He is literally nothing but a powerhouse and his release does nothing but ease his cutting into foes. It has no counter because it doesn't have a scary ability like 4 different states with different damage abilities or the power to totally remove all abilities by wiping out your name. It's just sheer brute force and a brute force multiplier. Ywatch's ability will be solely against those weird things like Aizen and Wabisuke where it has an additional effect.
All the special potentials we know about are purely about physical power and I imagine thats how Ywatch was wrecked before. He has no solid counter against it other than to meet the force and pray he wins in the tug of war, something Ichigo and Kenpachi both excel at with similar asspulls.
Ichigo giving Yhwach the "I'm so strong this fight is boring me" act that he gave Aizen is one of the few things I am looking forward to in this series, except for improbable events like Gin or Ulquiorra showing up again.
Quincy literally get hunted by Hollows because massive reiatsu which is delicious.
Turn reiatsu into attacks to kill monsters.
Shinigami show up and tell them to stop that shit because lolbalance. Don't offer an alternative.
Quincy continue because Shinigami don't offer them a place in Soul Society as guests or whatever.
Shinigami decide to genocide them because lol.
Quincy fight back.
Shinigami lay the smack down and kill 99% of Quincy. Leave Uryuu's lineage and Ywatch alive with a few other potentials by accident.
Ywatch wants revenge against the guys who wiped out his entire clan.
I can't fucking blame him personally. Shinigami had the chance to solve shit but they were dicks. Stick a few decent shinigami as full time guardians of the Quincy and give them the option to be peaceful instead of going ' Let them eat you or we will kill your shit' as the sole ultimatum.
Aizen was just being a douche but the Quincy probably didn't even consider a war with Soul Society and were just surviving.
Gremmy was constantly under assault from Kenpachi. He couldn't even reliable imagine himself as invulnerable against Kenpachi, let alone apply his imagination against him. Also remember his imagination backfired quite often. He couldn't imagine things he didn't know about and stuff like acid monsters and nukes would also most likely kill him if he didn't imagine them perfectly right. They all said Gremmy was literally the strongest amongst them and he would probably shit all over anyone else apart from Kenpachi since noone else was even close to aggressive enough to pressure his mind or have the resilience to survive lava or all the other shit that paniced Gremmy into backing off.
>Soul king is king of Soul Society
>Soul Society fucked you
>want ultimate revenge
>fuck you Soul King
Whats hard to understand? He wants his revenge against Soul Society as a whole. Not against specific beings. If it was just specific guys, he would have already achieved it in his initial assault.
Better than you apparently.
YHWH accepted the name he was given, and everything that comes with it.
He sees everyone as a tool for his ascendance to true power, because everything belongs to him. All power and all things.
He is the one who chooses who lives and who dies, as proven by the Auswahlen and the fact the Sternritter live and die for him.
Its not that complicated. He arose, tried to achieve it all much like Aizen (whatever Aizen's actual motivations) and was struck down a 1000 years prior.
He rebuilt his forces over nine years, comes back and does it all over again.
All that was told, shown and explained.
The only thing in the dark is why he would choose to have a heir when he is apparently immortal. But seeing as he grows older, he probably intends to bodyswap.
Another peripheral thing is Uryuu's lineage and its specifics, seeing as Kirge was surprised that his power surpassed Uryuu's as observed by Ichigo.
But that's still peripheric to him, his character and motivation.
The Quincys were slaughtered 200 years before Bleach, when YHWH was put down 1000 before. Its unlikely the motivations are one and the same.
Yhwach and his powers are just a social commentary. He's like a bank. He gives out loans and takes them back with interest. You can try getting interest from him but the interest he gives you is always lower than the inflation that he artificially produces so he always wins in the end.
You don't need to reiterate everything we know about him anon, I read the manga too.
The only part of your post where you touched on anything to do with his character or motivations is when you said
>He sees everyone as a tool for his ascendance to true power, because everything belongs to him. All power and all things.
and I guess this
>He is the one who chooses who lives and who dies, as proven by the Auswahlen and the fact the Sternritter live and die for him.
That's all well and good.
The thing is, this is all very vague. All we have is that he is pursuing godhood and he thinks everything and everyone belongs to him.
I'm waiting for that to be expanded upon is all.
Since when did we get proper motivation for people anyway? It's still not clear what Aizen wants to do as the Soul King, and both Gin and Tousen were muh revenge, I'm honestly not surprised if Yhwach wants to wreck shinigami and the SK just because he now can.
Aizen's motivations were left intentionally mysterious I think. The thing is Aizen also had the charisma and presence so that he was entertaining enough without it.
I personally think Yhwach is pretty cool, but his personality is just a generic stoic badass. All I'm saying is some added depth could really help him out.
Yhwach has yet to be shown absorbing pure bloods, we know from As Nodt's case that he has no qualms with taking in mixed bloods into the sternritter, so from that we can deduce that a good portion of the sternritter are in fact mixed bloods. Because pure bloods were all but extinct 9 years ago when he used Auswahlen we don't know if he can't absorb them, or if he simply chose not to.
Also it hasn't been explained yet why the Kurosaki siblings were untouched. Yuzu and Karin being left alone might be out of convenience, so that more Quincies can be born in the future. They are first generation mixed bloods and the hollow agent is kept in check, moreover they are immune to its corruption, which is very beneficial to the Quincy bloodline. The twins are the perfect next gen Quincy breeding sows.
The problem is, this is Bleach.
What you see is what you get. Thematically, YHWH is fairly close to Aizen's stated motivations. There is little more one can get from that, aside from megalomania.
Also, there is the problem of this being a weekly. The reader has to want to know more.
As far as it gets, YHWH is the Demiurge who wishes to wreste control away from God by bringing an enlightment of the material rather than the immaterial, when Aizen was closer perhaps to Lucifer (thematically) who wishes to bring enlightment of the soul. Aizen is the Ubermensch, not one who bends in front of great power, but one strives for more, for the expression of free will.
And all of that fits into the greater whole of the purpose of the Soul King and what was alluded to. So we will only know the end purpose when the Soul King finally appears in person rather than in a pair of panels.
All in all, I'm not saying there is a lot. What I am saying is we know all we will for the time being, until the greater plot moves forward.
So far, YHWH is a megalomaniac who wishes to achieve what the people see in his capabilities. And he is effective as a villain because he is just that. A villain.
Aizen alluded to more, and he may or may not come back. Either way, the plot will only move forward once YHWH reaches the Soul King.
I agree Aizen was far more entertaining than Yhwach, I'm just not convinced we'll get a much better reason than explained. Trying to wipe out my entire race and people would've made me mad too.
Masaki was a pure blood. But she had been touched by White, so she was not pure in the strictest sense.
Also, I think YHWH purged the mixed blood and took the best powers for himself out of the pure blooded he did purge, in Masaki's case her Blut Vene, the strongest of all Quincy IIRC.
I guess she was either a mistake or purged of the contamination. As far as the Kurosaki siblings go, the twins were not awakened, and neither was Ichigo. YHWH picked the useful powers out of the lot.
random theory time: Kurosaki means black cape, and YHWH always wears one, including as Zangetsu. He called Ichigo his son, born in the darkness. It may be that Masaki was a true descendant.
Yeah, I get all the symbolic stuff surrounding Bach. I don't think he's bad a character or even a boring one, but I do think he could definitely use more stuff going for him on a personal level. Some sort of conflict in his past that gives us more info about what kind of person he is. I was originally responding the anon who said Yhwach was boring, and I suggested something that I thought could help make his character more interesting.
>Also, I think YHWH purged the mixed blood and took the best powers for himself out of the pure blooded he did purge
At the time of the Auswahlen 9 years ago there were only two remaining purebloods that we know of, Souken and Ryuken Ishida and they both survived. The only known pureblood in his army was Quilge and he was given a special position to match his pedigree. Worthy of note is that Quilge was old, he had either died during the last Quincy war 200 years ago, or at least some time before the Auswahlen since he was privvy to the traditionalist faction.
>the strongest of all Quincy IIRC.
Not the strongest, just exceptionally strong.
>As far as the Kurosaki siblings go, the twins were not awakened, and neither was Ichigo.
Ichigo was active to some level and most likely so is Karin, the only one who is ambiguous is Yuzu, but even she has some measure of power. And the awakening is irrelevant in this case, since Uryu wasn't awakened either and he still became a target of Auswahlen according to Ywhach (but he survived).
>Kurosaki means black cape
Cape in the geographical sense. It means "black lands", which could refer to a whole slew of geographical locations and likely alludes to the place of origin of the Kurosaki branch more than anything (either way I'm convinced that they're descendants of Haschwalth).
Problem is, I actually believe he is boring because of the horrid pacing.
When YHWH was introduced, he moved fast, efficiently, his invasion was a work of art.
And then the pacing went down the drain, with fights lasting for a long time. And the recent fight was good, but is starting to feel stale.
My point is, YHWH is darkness incarnate, the night coming of Soul Society (pretty much always shown during the day, when his fortress is at night and even when days pass, Seireitei is still apparently at night)
But due to the pacing, it kills the effect. He was great because he had no redeeming value. He was there, he killed people, he stood on a level with Old Man Genocide and he tricked him to hell and back. Which was fun, until the action, as usual in Bleach, derived away from him because its spotlight time for the favorite characters and those who did not do much. Hence the powerups and fights for various characters who never do show anything.
This is end time. Sorry for the symbolism rambling, but I believe its all about colour oppositions. Black and White.
YHWH is just there to bring the end in more ways than one, but the pacing fucks him up. He was not boring at the start, but he is becoming so because the sense of urgency of the invasion has disappeared becaus Kubo has to cram as much as he can into this arc.
>Cape in the geographical sense. It means "black lands", which could refer to a whole slew of geographical locations and likely alludes to the place of origin of the Kurosaki branch
Yeah, I felt I was misrembering something here. Nevertheless, there is some sort of visual symbolism, and either way, that was just for the heck of it. Additionally, all Quincys descend from YHWH. So Ichigo descends from him because of course he does (whether directly or not)
As far as the Blut Vene goes, I probably should have said the strongest presently available. And as for the purge, Uryuu is not pure, since his mother was not.
>And as for the purge, Uryuu is not pure, since his mother was not.
Yes, which is why he was targeted.
>Additionally, all Quincys descend from YHWH. So Ichigo descends from him because of course he does (whether directly or not).
From here on out I'm just speculating, but Ichigo is likely very, very close to what can be considered the royal line. Because he's a close relative of the Ishida family who were the leading family, one with money and power in the Quincy world. Assuming one of Masaki's parents was an Ishida traditionally it would be the female that marries in and adopts the family name, so we have grounds to assume that Ichigo's long dead grandmother was the sister of Souken.
I'd argue that Uryuu was awakened since he was probably already training with Souken so he was a sullied Quincy, but much like many things in Bleach, there will probably never be a definitive answer. So I'll concede to the inconsistency, while saying that my guess is that the N was pure yet definitely purged. So it could go either way (and mechanically, YHWH probably can purge any Quincy) but there is no way to have a true answer.
As for Masaki, the wording in her introduction is awkward. She is the sole remaining member of her clan, but appears to have been taken in as a charity case.
And yet, YHWH marks an interest in her son's existence which goes beyond mere interest a Quincy, even one who survived the Auswahlen. He is tainted in many ways after all. So while not impossible, even likely that his lineage is special, its really not easy to tell.
>you are now aware that before every comeback Yhwach has had so far, The B was with him and said something/stepped in
>you are now aware that every comeback Yhwac has had so far was because The B tilted the scale
You heard it here first.
Kanae Ishida was dead by the time Uryu began training, Ryuken had broken all ties with the remaining quincy ie. his father and expressly forbid Uryu from making contact with his own grandfather.
He did not forsake the Quincies even after failing Masaki so the only explanation is that something after White broke the camel's back. He keeps a picture of his dead wife with him in his study, hanging over his mirror, he clearly loved her very much and her death affected him deeply.
I find it very unlikely that Uryu made contact with Souken before his mother's death and even then there is evidence that suggests that he wasn't awakened, the lack of Blut for one is very telling in my opinion. All descendants of Quincies are born quincy, this seems to be the only consistent thing in this mess, but not all Quincies are awakened to their powers even if they are using them in some way or form (ESP, reishi manipulation).
I'd like that, but the same character just said Yhwach is the Almighty, so it's hard to believe he needs any balancing and that Haschwalth has anything to do with him coming back every time.
As far awakening goes, its kind of uncertain what point makes it real.
Ostensibly, Souken wished to distance the Ishidas from YHWH (when he decided to is anyone's guess) since his Letzt Still is very different from Vollstandig.
Also, Uryuu has so far never used Blut, and has never shown any ability of the Sternritter. Rather, his abilities appear more formal, closer to kidou and kyudo rather than powers derived from the king. Also, their crosses are much closer to asauchi than those of the Sternritter.
Certainly Ryuuken loved his wife. And I believe his choice of denial of YHWH was to abandon all links with the Quincys. I am also reminded of his words to Uryuu telling him he has no talent. Which may fit the theme of Uryuu being taught a different way altogether.
Uryuu being told that he has no talent probably refers to the fact that he wasn't born with Blut already active. Mixed bloods are generally weaker, Ichigo and Uryuu are the exceptions to that rule. Perhaps it is true that Uryuu has no talent as a Quincy, but whatever ability he has surpasses Yhwach. We'll have to wait and see.
Unrelated, but the mangapanda translation for a few chapters were updated. It appears that the soul king is indeed the bearer of the world, the literal lynchpin as Urahara put it. Why would Yhwach, or Aizen possibly want to become this lynchpin when there are only obligations involved?
Uryuu has indeed something if one considers he does not use Blut or related powers.
He uses a different set of powers. A new way of doing things beyond even YHWH. In effect, the first existence since YHWH himself to have power for himself. Speculatively, of course.
As for why one may wish to topple the Soul King: he is the reason for the current system. Upsetting the order requires toppling him, no matter what.
Aizen wished for change. YHWH wishes for a new order with himself at the top, truly immortal as the cycle of life and death feeds him continuously, with no risk that he could ever be toppled himself, since all powers would be his.
Destroying Hollows and Shinigamis, two sides of the same coin, eliminates his natural enemy, thereby insuring his continuous domination.
Really, it makes sense.
>Perhaps it is true that Uryuu has no talent as a Quincy, but whatever ability he has surpasses Yhwach.
The only reason he's part of the Sternritters is because has shown potential to become stronger than Yhwach and this is something that Yhwach says himself.
When Kirge and Ichigo are fighting, there's a moment where Ichigo states that Kirge's ranged attacks are like Ishida's but way stronger. Kirge then laughs and states that's impossible Ishida is weaker than himself.
We can assume Ishida is indeed a naturally talented quincy.
The current order is not so bad. You set three realms on a scale and if there are too many souls on one side the balance breaks and everyone dies. There is little indication of the SK doing more than just protecting the universe, maybe he does something to souls in the after-death, but that was just barely hinted at when Aizen was sealed.

I really liked that scene. Orihime and Chad are mostly irrelevant at this point but hopefully Ishida can have a great moment before the series wraps up. Wouldn't it be great if he shared the spotlight with Ichigo and it was the two of them who took down Yhwach?
I'm not trying to say it's bad, just that those who wish to change it have to go through the same steps in order to do so.
There are huge techical problems since either there is more than one Soul King or only Japan is inhabited in Bleach world, but that's world building. Realisticallly, its not so great still since Rukongai, overflowing as it is, is ne
