think there's something important on why the Monk said he was the most despised of the Shinigami, and he was the keeper of their darkness. This may be a long stretch, but I think there is a common reasoning behind:

- Why Shinigami wear black clothes (death in japanese culture is attributed to purple, not black)
- Shinigami that distinguish themselves from the others get to wear a white haori over their clothes
- Kyouraku's zanpakutou ("choose your color")
- Ukitake's bankai
- The Quincy living in a "shadow world".

They foreshadowed that Unohana was stronger than she let on, which had nothing to do with Zaraki at the time; and that Zaraki had a backstory yet to be elaborated on, which had nothing to do with Unohana at the time. Tying two loose ends together after the fact is not the same as having planned for them to merge when they were individually introduced. What was foreshadowed was not the fact that Unohana was Yachiru or the first Kenpachi.

I feel like Kubo has just sectioned it off. He still seems to love it he just doesn't let it run rampant across the whole manga. He clumps all the gore and weirdness around distinctly weird characters, almost like it lets him excuse the gore and weirdness by doing so. Mayuri, Aaroniero, Zomarri, Szayelaporro, Quilge, As Nodt, Super Star, Pepe, etc... because when he's not being gross and weird he defaults to generic same faced attractive characters, the cold broody pretty guy, the wild rough around the edges guy, the spunky loli, the ditzy titty monster, and so on. And he used to show that he could do things other than those two modes but then his font of ugly but interesting looking background characters just dried up. Plausible scenario:

Aizen is one of the shinigami amongst the royal guard cities, probably a researcher of some sort with very high spiritual powers.

He finds out that the Soul King is a hybrid of sorts that rules over all of life, and finds the Soul King as an oddity against shinigami convention and rules about how shinigami should not cross into the domain of hollow to gain a higher dimensional power.

He tries challenging this convention and gets kicked out of royal realm. Frustrated, he begins the development of the Hogyouku so that he can cross boundaries AND ultimately return to the royal realm to overturn the hypocritical convention.

I get what Aizen was trying to do
he was trying to create a way that a shinigami would not have to rely on their zanpakuto in order to harness that power.
So he first invented the hou gyoku, in an attempt to let that power bubble up to the shinigami themselves, rather than into the sword.
Then when that failed (because it just kept making hollows, because the power needed to be kept in by something, and that meant a hollow mask) and urahara whisked it away, he started working on the whites while he waited for Urahara to show himself. All of this was for his eventual goal of using it on himself in order to take his immense power, and use it to adapt his body. That's why he was so happy when Suigetsu crumbled, he thought he was finally achieving that full fusion of his power. Leading into that he kind of was, for he had effectively wrapped himself in his own power (not unlike Ichigo)
The kicker, of course, was that he was still shifting to be more and more hollow like, thus without his keen mind.

No doubt this is all because he figured if he could bring all of his power out, and wrap himself in it, and maintain his abilities (illusions, kidoh, etc) and mind, that he would be a match for the soul king.

Which means that Ichigo hasn't quite reached that perfection yet either, because he's still relying on his powers to be in the blade. However it's possible that Aizen was just misunderstanding, and it takes something like what Ichigo has achieved, having his powers give themselves up to him, to freely use that power like Ichigo does.

We'll see.

This man and all his wasted potential. I was so hyped for him because of his initial introductory fight but Kubo seems to be going turbo mode right now.

My guess is that "N" stood for "Nimble" because of his speed and accuracy.

Still best Quincy was Kirgie since he showed that Quincy could be a threat, unfortunately most of them ended up forgetting their full abilities, or as someone mentioned that Kirgie was possibly a full blooded Quincy since he showed such high level techniques and he awoke Ichigo's latent Quincy abilities.

Yhwach outright says it, but its likely most or all of the new quincy were pure bloods too, just less skilled than him. They're getting their powers straight from the source, sit around in a place with no hollows, and all the old half bloods (except Uryu) were purged so there's no reason any of them would have hollow AIDS.
