Carnival Phantasm Aoko was basically given like two scenes, and only for comic relief. Which is pretty much what her Melty appearance was as well.

They're almost two completely different personalities, for anyone who hasn't read Mahoyo.

It's a real shame, because I horribly struggled with dictionaries and asking mai koibito while reading Mahoyo, I wasn't sure what to expect when the Aoko everyone knew was this insanely powerful character in Tsukihime, and pretty much a Secret Character in Melty, filled with Genki Girl characteristics and a carefree attitude.

And then I read Mahoyo and she's a Nasu-girl, so she's aggressive and bold by nature and surprisingly cold and harsh. Not that it's bad, in fact I think the Mahoyo Aoko is really well written and I like her a lot. I have no idea how she turned into the Melty Aoko, but I lost track of what's canon and what isn't.

The worst part is that none of my friends believe me and they all think I'm over-exaggerating.
