What are you reading?

I'm only reading Yahari at the moment. Dropped Kamisu Reina and Shield Bro because the former was a bit lackluster and the latter had a manga which felt like it was better than the WN.

Waiting for the next volume of HakoMari to see where this train wreck is headed.

I also read Gekkou which I wholeheartedly recommend. I suppose that ended up being more than "What are you reading?".

It was foreshadowed from chapter one. Every single damn character had some kind of dark vibe that implied they had a lot more to them than it seemed at first.
Kazuki had by far the most foreshadowing and after rereading the whole thing twice I can assure you that he never changed in the first place. The guy was insane since before the first volume and was simply held back by his attachment to his everyday life and the need to be as "normal" as possible.

Last good thing I read was Imasugu Yametai Ars Magica.
It's about a magical girl who hates being a magical girl and wants to quit after 8 years (she's already about to graduate high school), but can't until a new fairy appears to start a new team.
It's really, really funny.

Currently reading Campione! after DxD left a hole that needed to be filled.

I really hope MC grows some balls soon, Erica teasing him so often and getting away with it is gettting really annoying.

Most volumes are pretty low on content. 3-4 300 page LNs per year are probably around the equivalent of one "Look at how thick my epic fantasy series is" volume in English.

And of course for every author who busts out thousands of pages a year there are those who can't be assed to do anything at all, (IS guy I'm looking at you).

Apart from that I've read SAO to where the Anime is right now. Didn't want to start Alicization since a friend of mine said the fan translations have stopped since it was licensed and the official translations are at the beginning still.

Been reading psychic detective yakumo, so far it's good but then I realized after 2 volumes, all cases ended in similar manner of the stupid girl kept getting herself caught and the MC came to rescue her. Not all of them are side-stories. IIRC the Koisuru novels (4 volumes) are 100% side stories, while Minarai (3 volumes) is a sequel with Konoha and a kouhai girl. There's also one last volume set several years after Tohko's graduation.

They could at least release this last one.

I tried reading Monogatari Killer Killer, but it was fucking boring, and it was nothing like Monogatari, more like Isshuukan Friend the Detective Story. Baccano is kinda interesting, but the prose is not great.

Anyone reading pic related? It's nice having a fantasy story where the MC isn't some otaku from glorious Nippon who re-incarnates/teleports into medieval fantasy times. The military structure and society are built pretty well so far. Also, two volumes in and there doesn't seem to be any real harem hijinks (I'm looking at you, Vanadis). Translations are pretty steady, too.

It is hard to tell because has a lot of elements not well received like game stuff, a "special skill" that makes the MC OP, etc.
That said, it's a nice reading taking in account that the MC's power being OP, is not the top. The cast is large, and their traits make them feel natural.

More than that, I'd recommend you to read the manga first.
