I would say that French is a language for educated people. Most French can't even handle their native language very well themselves so it wouldn't be unusual that we would tend to trust an English amateur team rather than a French one, since those are having an easier time doing their job assuming that both have an equal level.

Ils sont très difficiles à mettre pour moi, je suis Italien et donc je suis habitué à dire ce que je lis sans me branler sur la prononciation comme en anglais ou en français.
Parfois utiliser les accents pour mieux noter la prononciation est plus intelligent mais je ne me rappellerai jamais de les mettre (et donc je suis très heureux de l'existence du spell check).
