They're actually making a continuation of that piece of shit?
Will it be able to top the perfection that was Tamako Love Story?
Someone's mad their favorite anime doesn't get any new material.
Right of course. Silly me for forgetting the amazing sales it got.
My favourite shit taste anime will be back. But I hope a whole new season will be made after the movie, but that's being too ambitious.
I really fucking love this series. Based Ishidate delivers
Also, will we get another Izumi-nee?
That trailer was amazing, Yui Horie just shit-talking the SHAFT head tilt like they don't pay her shit-tons of money to voice Hanekawa
I know, right? As long as you know how BTFO Monogatari got by all those amazing sales Kyoukai had then I think we'll be alright.
Just give me some of that sweet Kigami and Ishidate sakuga. Also, it should be interesting to see if that freelance animator job listing by KyoAni a while back does turn out to be for the movie.
It's like KyoAni wants to force this down the throats of everone.
That's when the shitposters do their song and dance. /a/ is extremely polarizing so if something isn't definitely good, it's shit. Same thing happened to the Kyousogiga threads.
>a studio throwing millions into a movie to "force it down our throats"
Just because you didn't enjoy it doesn't mean it was bad or a commercial failure.
The TV series Kyoukai no Kanata, which aired starting in October 2013, will be made into movies!
Focusing on the heroine Mirai Kuriyama, "Past Arc" returns to the events of the TV series.
And then "Future Arc", an original tale, depicts what happens to the group one year later.
What will the "future" that they choose, overcoming their own conflicts.....?
From the past into the future....
These two works, a tale of "bonds and love" presented by Kyoto Animation, will both open next spring!!
Past Arc: 3/14
Future Arc: 4/25
Tagline: "For me to be myself"
>returns to the events of the TV series
>I fucking hope they explain how mirai came back
No, that's how she manifested in his dream.
Mirai was absorbed by Beyond, then Akihito absorbed Beyond. Take note that youmu spawn from tons of strong (often negative) emotions, and all it took for Mirai to come back is Akihito's feelings, i.e. love.
>KnK's movie will be out before Kizu
I wonder how people would seriously deal with a movie where Mayaka explains she was never really interested in Satoshi and always loved Oreki from their childhood (not that she pretended to like Satoshi to get close, or whatever those old fake translations used to say). At least in the books, it's not even a triangle really. It's a story of how Oreki was in love with the idea of Chitanda, and missed Mayaka right in front of him, but then realizes it at the end. I think it could work really well as a movie.
>Knk doesn't deserve the hate it gets on here
I love Mirai!
>I REALLY wouldn't use iqdb on that pic
>mfw I did it anyways
Translation for the PV:
*(Note that the text appearing on the screen matches the spoken words throughout the trailer.)*
0:03 - This is where I am right now.
0:08 - This world, where I lived with you.
0:13 - Those are my memories of the beyond.
0:19 - I will decide this future.
0:24 - Kyoukai no Kanata: The Movie. "I'll Be Here."
Movies need to at least sell 30k to be deemed successful especially if their box office draws are pitiful which Tamako was. Mouretsu was a similar case in which it's box office and BD sales were dismal.
Translation: I have no idea what I'm talking about
The movie is going to be really good like Tamako Market and then we'll get a Hyouka movie next year.
Do not think about having sex with teenaged girls.
>we have no idea what to do with our time and money
>the episodes without her sweater
>people keep posting lame high school girls instead of those god-tier Christmas Cakes
well this is all I got then unless you wanted a webm or something
movie budgets mean movie budget designs, same thing happened with Tamako Lovestory. Though I wonder what you can do to make KnK even more budget.
well Amagi is projected to do 10k through the power of armpits. Not a mega hit I suppose but it's a good start.
They only got lucky with K-ON. Clannad, Kanon and Air were guaranteed sellers from the beginning. Haruhi and Hyouka never because lazy authors. They shot themselves in the foot with Chuu2 S2. Tamako Market and KnK were very subpar. They are ignoring FMP and and we'll see with Amagi. Only the fujoshi can save them.
>movie Tamako is fluffier than anime Tamako
movie Mirai is going to give me a fluff attack
Its a succeeded with its purpose at least
LN sold over 100,000 copies in the past few weeks. Even kadokawa celebrated it by releasing some shit
obviously Kadokawa had low expectations for the series
>mfw they're ignoring Amagi for their future IP franchises
I quite enjoyed this show, I'm not sure why it gets so much hate.
It was pretty disappointing. Wanted to be serious and SOL comedy at the same time so the characterization and plot just ended up being a clusterfuck. Deviated too much from the source material. And the old LN commercial made it look like an adaptation would be way cooler than it was.
>Wanted to be serious and SOL comedy at the same time so the characterization and plot just ended up being a clusterfuck.
One legit argument out of three isnt bad for /a/ but its still a failing grade
I think the main dissappointment is that that Mizuki,Mirai,Hiroomi and Akikko don't have much to their characters other then their gimmicks. Mizuki likes to suck on lolipops, hiroomi is a hardcore siscon, Mirai is socially awkward because a combination of guilt, being hated and feared and bully moe appeal and finally Akikko's nothing but a glasses loving pervert whose sacked with guilt and a crazy man child of a mother. All of their interactions together seemed stall as fuck because it was just a group of people throwing their quirks at each other. How can they expect people to care about these characters when they don't even act like they can stand being around each other half the time? Then there's Sakura. they build her up and eventually she's brought over and she proceeds to do nothing, say little and remain a non factor for the rest of the series. I don't see why they couldn't let her at least keep her fighting abilities considering that she's an anime only character like Ai the cat.
Basically the show had potenical but piss poor characters and even shittier writing made it forgettable. The only good points were the pretty animation, soundtrack and the interesting background to this madness.
Mitsuki is an "oddball" among Spirit World Warriors caused by being a sheltered child. Although she can somewhat fight, she does not hold the belief that all youmu must be slain, as shown by having Yakiimo as a pet.
Hiroomi is an example of a workaholic who held on to sibling love as a defense mechanism to keep himself from losing his sanity. It's rather obvious that he does not like the heavy responsibilities he has (he fucking shouted at his grandfather at the end), and he's desperate for ways to unwind.
Akihito's a different guy in the past. He doesn't want to get along with anyone and he only saw others as a potential victim or a potential murderer.
You somewhat captured what Mirai is all about.
>Basically the show had potenical but piss poor characters and even shittier writing made it forgettable. The only good points were the pretty animation, soundtrack and the interesting background to this madness.
Or you probably saw this series too shallowly.
>lack of character development between main cast
That was the point though! We find out that Mitsuki and Hiromi were not Akkeys friends, but only there to monitor and observe the KnK which he possessed.
This in turn made Mirai and Akkeys character development all the more better, as they were the only ones who were genuine friends (even if she did try to kill him; Mirai's sacrifice showed how far they'd come)
I really enjoyed the show.
Except Mirai's catchphrase fuck Mirai's catchphrase
>KnK has two movies out before Kizumonogatari even gets a real announcement
maybe it really did kill monogatari
>Tamako Love Story threads
>100 posts asking if they need to watch Tamako Market
Now we can tell them just to watch the recap movie first
I swear, people are fucking stupid. Who watches a direct sequel to an anime and also try to find ways to not watch the anime? It's only 12 episodes.
>possible Horiguchi's return
>Inoue joins the production because he wants to work on the same anime with Kigami again
>he brings Iso in
The future of sakuga right here.
>mfw if it happens
KnK's show already had a much higher budget than Tamako's show.
Well it can hardly get any worse than the TV series, but why the fuck would they focus on Mirai? She was a grumpy cunt for most of the time.
For all its faults, Tamako was a stronger TV show. Nothing amazing, but it served as a better base for them to make the movie from. If they twist the plot of the first movie to set up for something more interesting in movie 2, maybe they could do something great.
Has anyone read the LNs to say whether the plot gets more interesting in that?
So there will be 2 movies?
I guess that explains the lack of Winter (and likely Spring) show from KyoAni in 2015.
It's kind of disappointing they haven't announced anything yet, but they've been making shows back-to-back for quite a long time now. Most years they'd only make 2 at most (how the fuck did they fit the Tamako movie in?).
I really hope they get something else from Kadokawa, but they'd be needing to announce that around now - whereas in house "originals" get last minute announcements.
why is this show so underrated?
>muh monogatari killer
Defeat your inner demon, /a/
>I`d rather watch RDG movies
For a comparable experience, paint your walls and watch them dry.
There was hardly anything to rate about it. It started getting interesting around episode 9, but then it went back to being shit again.
It's been the general assumption on /a/ for ages. Mostly because Ordet did the Lucky Star spin-off; Yamakan not having much else to do; Kyoani (until now) being fully booked and primarily focused on in-house productions.
My sister watched it and loved it to death. Maybe it was really meant for girls.
Only idiots on /a/ get tripped up over things like muh monogatari and "can't decide between serious and comedy" (when bake was the exact same thing).
The animation was great and so was the idol dance.
Hype, this could be good. They really needed to do more with this universe.
Yeah, I don't really think it's particularly bad. If you ignore that Mirai lives, it's a pretty solid story with 10/10 animation. It's just unfortunate that there were so many characters for no reason.
I just finished watching Tamako Love Story and thought it was great.
Kyoani really do have a talent for making movies, so looking forward to this.
Aw yea fuck them haters, based kyoani.
>He tells me that at the earliest stage of the planning process, the slot that eventually became Tamako Market was originally intended for a possible K-On! season three. It was director Yamada Naoko (山田尚子) who pushed for a break from the highly successful franchise in favor of an original work
I guess we have to be happy that at least KnK gets a movie.
>First movie is on March 14th
>Second movie on April 25th
I guess we can all see how the first date was carefully picked on 3.14, a number very close to Pi.
Now look at the second date, 4.25. Nothing special, you think? well think again.
If you take the 4.25 and divide it by 3.14 then multiply it by 2 (because there are two movies) you get, and you probably guessed it already, 2.71. Which is a number very close to Euler's number.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm hooked
