Body parts of Sonoko that are still working:
Her left eye -> Fuu
Her left ear -> Tougou
Her voice -> Itsuki
Her memory -> Tougou
Assuming her sense of taste works as well I think we can see where this is going:
Sonoko will make the ultimate sacrifice and give the girls back everything they have lost, apart from Tougou's legs. Then she'll give her last functioning body part, her brain/mind to the Shinju-sama in a last mankai and become one with the Shinju-sama.
Spoilers from chapter 8:
The hero, Sonoko repeated Mankai and Sange more than 10 times and became unable to lead a normal life.
For that reason, as the trump card, the Taisha is managing her directly.
In regard to Washio Sumi, her only sacrifices to Shinju are the function of her legs and several years of memories.
Since she still can lead a normal life, she will be returned to the front once the Vertices appear again.
By performing a Shikoku, nationwide physical examination, many persons with high aptitude for being a hero were detected
After that, the following plans were decided
Washio Sumi is to be transfered and stationed to the place where the girl who has the highest aptitude in the whole nation lives.
Appropriately, Inubozaki Fuu who possesses a high aptitude will also be sent there as Taisha’s envoy.
Furthermore, the terminal that Minowa Gin used will be recycled.
A person who is fit for this terminal will be sent as powerful reinforcement.
Glorious sacrifice for the survival of the nation.
Hopefully never, what makes this show charming is the suffocating suffering and the struggle against it, if they change for a cheap shock based one where all characters go full retarded I would be disappointed
It was a foolish of me that I've been avoiding to read any LN spoilers and pretending it has no connection prior to the anime, but now it's been revealed there is, I thought I'm missing out some important details about Togo's identity. Hence, I got the urge to learn more about her to a certain extent. Leaving that aside, Yuuna being badass as ever with newly-developed rider kick was simply amazing as well as her duet with Karin, and I hope this show ends with a higher note amidst of the suffering involved to it.
Those things will attack in a huge swarm overpowering the girls in the final battle.
They are too scared to use mankai and get pushed back.
Sonoko appears with her fairy zoo, transforms, single-handedly turns the tide of the battle and uses her last mankai to defeat the final boss, give everyone back what the lost and sacrifices herself finally to the Shinju-sama.
this ep already showed that she hesitated, no even more the pay for power is confirmed.
the other 3 already tasted the pain of it, so its easier to bear it, Karin on the other hand is more likely to be scared on what she might lose
Vegetable chan confirmed lost, both legs, 1 arm, 1 eye, and other 6y things we dont know
maybe hero club either, they think they beat em but only sent em away for a while.
Remember how Tougou was commenting on other constellations and Yuna just talked about random stars instead?
If you look at the OP, you can see hundreds, if not thousands, of tiny white dots that they're being assaulted by. It's safe to assume that all of those dots are those mouth creatures.
This show is going to end with them fighting millions of billions of stars.
Well, considering that while she was a hero the equipment Taisha gave lacked the sealing function. Yeah, it's pretty fucking hard for her to fucking kill the Vertexes when she's literally unable to.
Probably. It doesn't make sense otherwise.
Also I'm quite shocked that she just didn't lose the function of her legs, but literally lost them.
That's not what they said earlier when they talked about "no physical damage".
I mean, Fuu's eye is still there, it's just not working anymore.
I'll read it once all the chapters have been translated. As for the prediction, you guys are like prophets or something when it comes to speculah, so that's to be expected.
What's it like to be loved and held by Yuna?
Well, it was obvious, similar looks, similar battle suits, ranged weapons, same blood group, similar hobbies, the "mi" in Sumi and Mimori written with the same kanji.
Every time I see 'mankai' I think of this.
Later we were also thinking that Karin = Gin.
This turned out to be untrue, but then:
>Furthermore, the terminal that Minowa Gin used will be recycled.
>A person who is fit for this terminal will be sent as powerful reinforcement.
So we weren't completely off, Gin and Karin use the same equipment.
>the girl who has the highest aptitude in the whole nation lives
so that's yuki yuna
>the terminal that Minowa Gin used will be recycled.
>A person who is fit for this terminal will be sent as powerful reinforcement
so that's karin
Ok, I get it, a flower blooms and it falls. But listen to this, okay, a flower... pollinates another flower, they get to be okay and Taisha gets the chance to breed super flowers. They need to do some research, maybe hire Hiashi and done.
And if Karin loses function of one of her legs, Sonoko won't be able to give that back to her.
Daily reminder that Yuki Yuna is secretly a possessive yandere.
>Like Togo because she can't run away from her
>Literally pushes Togo around and thinks she is the one suppose to be doing so
>Likes Togo in a wheelchair so much she makes her stay in one even in the hot springs
>Tries to change Togo's hairstyle so she wouldn't wear Sonoko's ribbon
>Did above as revenge for Togo not raising her hand when she asked if anyone was in love
>Trains fists for future domestic violence
>Used her highest hero aptitude powers to be summoned along with Togo when Sonoko wanted to see Washii
>Kept Sonoko talking about Mankai so she wouldn't make Togo remember her
>Used her highest hero aptitude powers to be summoned along with Togo when Sonoko wanted to see Washii
I know you're joking but I wanted to point out that Yuuna probably ended up going along because Togo was holding her hand when she was summoned.
I'd like to see Yuna pollinate Togo
>By performing a Shikoku, nationwide physical examination, many persons with high aptitude for being a hero were detected
How do they even screen for high hero aptitude when it's something as abstract as "purity of the soul"?
Damn it Japan, even they fail at correct transcription to romaji.
Find the cutest lesbians of the nation.
I want Yuuna to hold me.
Is Sonoko at risk now from that whole "damage while fighting leads to real world damage" thing? She seems like the only thing they have introduced of significance that could potentially be at risk from future random damage. Well besides the Hero Club's project for the festival.
>10. Bonds of Love
These sound homo as fuck. I hope theyll just be Tougo and Yuuna confessing their eternal gay love for each other and forgetting their suffering through copious amounts of lesbian sex.
What the fuck man, i didnt sign up for this. Also whats with the bridge? Im guessing the place was the result of the last battle?
>Aren't they supposed to be inmortal?
No. All they say is that thanks to mankai they won't get killed. That doesn't mean they're immortals. Besides, Gin didn't even have mankai since the system didn't exist at the time.
So why does the cutest girl suffers the most? I mean Itsuki can't speak at all while others lost either half of the ability or lost something rather insignificant.
>mfw Itsuki was completely silent during her transformation
Is Tougou's ass megalopolis as well?
What I mean is that here >>117564535 we see Wasshi with a bow. In second episode she shows off all of her three weapons, but none of them was a bow. Did she get her fairies replaced or something?
Will one of them end up like Johnny?
By throwing cute girls into the ocean. Thanks god we now have smartphones.
Well, the old system was weaker than the current one so the girls themselves had to be strong enough to compensate for it. There're only three of them and they're also younger and so, physically weaker than the anime bunch.
goddamnit it kamui, is that you too?
Human sacrifices, there is an app for that.
They're dropping too many hints that she is frustrated with her ineffectiveness in battle.
She will probably overcompensate and mankai 10 times or something and end up blowing her body to pieces.
But she had previous experience fighting Vertex, right?
How did that one running vertex survived anyway? Or can the enemy just recreate them? If so, they are in for endless suffering.
Who's the enemy anyway? Is this all a plot by Shinju-sama so the human kind keep sacrificing pure little girls to the gods?
Not all ancient civilization were retarded enough to believe girls were more pure of better sacrifices though. The Japanese culture have always fetichisized young girls though.
>Sonoko will make the ultimate sacrifice and give the girls back everything they have lost
What if it's the other way around? What if every time the girls mankai and get a disability, Sonoko recovers something?
I like you when you are quiet because it is as though you are absent,
and you hear me from far away, and my voice does not touch you.
It looks as though your eyes had flown away
and it looks as if a kiss had sealed your mouth.
>To make the suffering suffer more.
How low could you fucking go.
Yeah, it was Gemini, so that was just the other twin.
When the first one appeared I was wondering what about it was Gemini, because every vertex has one feature that fits its name.
>But she had previous experience fighting Vertex, right?
I don't think so. Her family was related to Taisha, it seems, so that's probably why she receives orders directly from them. But I don't think she has fought before. She probably did some training though, like Sumi and her friends.
What really bugs me: How did they get the first fairy? That can’t be just a simple system upgrade. I think Sonoko didn’t go mankai to sacrifice herself for Shinju-sama, she sacrificed herself for those hardware upgrades for the other heroes.
>Sonoko Mankai'd 10 times
>Sumi Mankai'd twice
I bet Tougou was pissing herself for most of the fight while Sonoko had to do all the work, just like in the beginning of the anime. She already had good reason for developing PTSD.
And they wouldn’t even be lying, just omitting some information.
That’s rather abstract.
>And they wouldn’t even be lying, just omitting some information.
Think about it. Yuuna and the others got their first fairy for free. But when Sumi and her friends became heroes for the first time, fairies didn't exist yet. That's why, the moment Taisha created them, Sumi and Sonoko got them for free.
Basically, the first fairy is always free of charge.
>It is entirely possible that another hero had to be sacrificed for Sumi and Sonoko to get theirs
Why? It makes no sense. If it was like that, it would the same for Yuuna, Fuu and the others.
>What if they already lost something but are not aware of it?
Thing is, they only lose bodily functions as a result of mankai, but the first fairy doesn't have nothing to do with mankai, since they get it before they go mankai for the first time.
I have a solution.
They still have to sacrifice body functions. But in the end they get to use their powers outside the barrier to make up for it.
Alien invaders from another dimension. Or alternatively since we haven't seen any other countries. On the earth there may be multiple 'gods' like Taisha and they try to kill each other to become the one true god.
Don't mind me, I'm just a fairy
The flower symbols are too generic to mean much, only Itsuki’s is really distinctive.
I do find it interesting that Yuuna’s new fairy switches colors. Doesn’t quite seem intentional though.
At least we know they can't die now. That's good, right?
And they will. They will.
Yuuna's daijoubu lines this episode hurt more than ever.
Please be daijoubu, Yuuna.
That is a smart one.
But there is a dark truth about WEG threads,
They are actually thinly veiled recommendation threadsso we would need something that would bait watchers for this show
>All the doujins that will have Yuna eating jizz and shit
>Not a single vanilla yuri doujin ever scanned or translated
This. It's not like I talk much anyway. I'll be fine if I can still type.
Not being able to enjoy tasty food ever again sounds much worse, especially since I can't even stop eating so I'd have to eat tasteless grub for the rest of my life.
I like the series, but the direction lacks vision and didn't left a good taste after all this. People didn't wanna hear when anons said they'd start pulling the leg of the cast and now they lost the touch of things.
Sonoko must be pretty powerful. I don't know why people give her crap when her group had half as many people, they were younger, and they couldn't seal the baddies away. If they were able to keep them baddies away like that, they must be pretty powerful since they don't have easy mode like the current group. She could probably destroy any of the current girls in a fight.
Not him, but 2-3 images are passable, as long as it's not a total clusterfuck. While 1 image almost always looks better, sometimes you need to use 2-3 to actually express what you expected/got.
>I don't like it = Bad direction
He means that he doesn't like what's happening in the show, but is trying to sound intelligent about it by beating around the bush.
That would be a great tweeeest if it ever happened. Sonoko would probably be mindbroken beyond repair to even attempt such a measure though, something I doubt the series is gunning for.
This is I think the first show I have watched- and certainly the first anime- where I actually hope a character will have a death scene.
Hopefully Togo and Yuki will come back for Sonoko and liberate her from the hospital and she will finally be allowed to die in Togo's lap while Yuki pushes them along the beach.
that's 28 constellations in traditional Chinese astrology. And the International Astronomical Union recognizes 88 named constellations- though 12 of them are now dead in this story.
That is unlikely to happen. Sonoko is not something special, she's just a hero of war treated with the utmost respect. Yes, she had offered almost half of her body to Shinju-sama, but that doesn't make her goddess.
And anyway if she got her left eye from Fuu, voice from Itsuki, hearing from Togo when they used mankai, what was she like before that? And I think it would be really cruel from Shinju-sama to accept everything but guts and brain, and as we know he is not cruel so he would rather accept her life as whole than leave her as a meatbag with brain.
I just rewatched ep8 after reading this.
>tfw she was calling for wasshi
>tfw wasshi has no memory
>tfw she just went minori-chan eh
>tfw the ribbon is probably from sonoko
So where is the third member if they cant die?
We'be all been fooled. The one who was writting the Hero diary is Sonoko, not Simi.
When they were a group of three, they didn't have faeries.
Thus, they had no defense against the Vertices and had low attack power.
During one such Vertex attack, Sumi and Sonoko lost their consciousness and Gin had to defeat the enemy herself.
When they regained consciousness, they found her corpse in the middle of a road.
The next Vertex attack happened during her funeral.
No anon, the suffering is necesary, you need to suffer with the girls.
That way once Yuuna punches God in the face to fix the system, you will be screamming in pure hotblood in unison with her At least /m/ told me punching God in the face always works
What if the Vertex are really the good guys?
I mean, the Taisha sacrifices people, and the Vertex want to destroy the Taisha. Maybe the whole "destroy the world" thing means that the religious lunatics will just lose all crazy powers, and they will just be a cult afterwards?
Depends on if the virus that was supposedly the reason for Shinju-sama sealing Shikoku off from the rest of the world really existed and if so if it is still present in the outside world. If both of those are true, then regardless of the status of the Vertices what Taisha is doing is ultimately for the good of the people.
We have already had reports of damage inflicted by the Vertex, they are definitely on the bad side here.
Furthermore despite all the suffering this show still focus on heroism after all, I find that if the Taisha is the actual evil it would just betray the purpose of the series
>It is said that the soldiers were afraid to cross the bridge to confront him, and all that did met swift death at the hands of the gigantic man, who killed in excess of 300 fully trained soldiers. Long after the battle should have been over, the soldiers noticed that the arrow-riddled, wound-covered Benkei was standing still. When the soldiers dared to cross the bridge and look more closely, the giant fell to the ground, having died in a standing position. This is known as the "Standing Death of Benkei" (弁慶の立往生, Benkei no Tachi Ōjō).
>fight at a bridge
>tons of enemies
>left behind by his allies
>died in a standing position
Whoa, fits perfectly.
I'm kind of hoping for a 'no-one is truly evil' outcome, and not in a kyubei way either.
I'm clinging to the impression that the Taisha and Shinju-sama really are trying to get the best for everyone, and though it's still iffy, they do seem to at least be trying to ease the burden on the girls.
Not sure about the Vertex, do we have a reason for their attacks? Maybe if they're mindless and are just following their nature rather than any malicious intent.
Being Karin is suffering.
>The Ushi-Oni (牛鬼?, Ox Oni (demon)), or gyūki, is a creature which appears in the folklore of Japan. [...] Yet another ushi-oni is depicted as a statue on the grounds of the Negoroji temple in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture*. It is a bipedal monster with huge tusks, spurred wrists, and membranes like a flying squirrel. A sign nearby explains that this creature terrorized the area about four-hundred years ago, and was slain by a skilled archer by the name of Yamada Kurando Takakiyo (山田蔵人高清). He dedicated its horns to the temple, and they can still be seen to this day.
*that's the prefecture the Yuushas live in.
I'd still feed him beef jerky.
Yeah, at least it's been show that the worked to improve the systems with Sumi and co. I don't think they lied when they said they were working on finding a way to cure them but so far that system is the best they could come with for them to not die.
They were pretty blatantly lying when they said "Oh, don't worry, it's just a temporary thing, nothing to do with Mankai" even though they had clear evidence from Sonoko and Sumi's cases to the point of giving the consequences a name.
That's what she gets for having the highest base stats.
More game 'scans'.
And even Sonoko said they did that to 'ease them into their burden'
So yeah, Taisha has their back to the wall. Not faultless, mind you, but I see no wicked conspiracy like with Kyuubey, just a nasty truth to face.
There's two archers in this show that could do the job.
But I'm betting on the "Sumi regains her memories and shoots Gyuuki to free Yuuna from the Taisha brainwashing"-route.
That's was kind of confusing: The PC Visual Novel is a series of events during the anime. The Vita Game (as it does has action sequences) looks to be a re-take on the anime but with more events and with the player taking limited control on it.
i missed you too! anime weed brofist for old times sake
Someone tried translating all of the hero diaries again, without the blanks filled in by guesses this time.
When I heard that we were chosen by the Shinju-sama, I thought that was an amazing thing, but exactly how it was amazing, I didn't really realize.
Just that, once I heard that the enemies that were coming would destroy the world, I thought, I must fight.
In the beginning, I lost myself in that feeling.
At that time, that I would end up fighting on, ■■■ turned into ■■■, it never even occurred to me in my dreams.
Hero Record 298.4.25
When I first saw Minowa Gin, I had the feeling that I would have trouble dealing with her.
She was loud, strong-willed, overpowering.
But as we felt each other out I thought she was a really nice girl.
That she would ■■, and ■■■ was......

1 + 1 + 1 does not equal 3, but becomes 10.
If it was us, we thought we could do it. We had to think that way.
The enemies are called Vertexes. Abominations born from the center of viruses.
We are to repel them.
But, to such existences, to give them the name Vertexes...a word meaning the highest point, why...?
At that time, the fact that Vertexes were things ■■ by ■■ was something we still did not know.

It's an interesting word somehow, and I liked it.

I feel them close to me.

The Shinju-sama is god itself.
Therefore, I prayed.
That I didn't want to be separated from my friends.
That was, in a way, something that would continue to be granted to me.
In exchange for the sacrifice of a comrade, we gained the ■■■'s ■■.

I received a lot of gifts sent from the Taisha.
My family also gained more power in the Taisha it seems.
This special treatment surprised me then.
But, after looking into it, it wasn't anything special.
In any era, ■■■■■ receive kindnesses.

It was after ■■■ became ■■ that I learned.
That in the past, it wasn't ■■■■■■ that inflicted pain onto ■■■ but ■■■■■■■■.
And that the origin for that was ■■■ from the start.
It's a bit similar to the story of ■■■■'s ■■, I thought.

Did you now that HELL has become part of /jp/'s popular culture? if you didn't drop your role so soon, you could have been part of something spectacular.
but you're just a little, little man.
Did anyone notice this scene?
Yuna and Tougou try to input a password and unlock the screen.
Yuna's password 0408
Tougou's password 0321
Would be amusing if she didn't know where she is getting those parts, some extra drama when she finds out.
Or something along like she gives them back and merges/deposes Shinju-sama in final episode.
Unless Takahiro wants to go full sadist mode and actually makes her wanting to regain her body by piecing it together from Tougou's friends and expects Tougou to return to her side.
Damn, you'd need some high resolution night vision Yuri goggles to catch that.
Might work if Yuuna and co. confront her about where she got her body parts from and she tries to escape by merging with Shinju-sama because she can't bear Tougou to learn the truth.
Thus they have to beat the whole system as result.
Who reads 2ch? That requires knowing Japanese, which most 4channers don't.
We Sailor Moon now
She really is a cutie, too bad we couldn't protect her
she will still have children
togo sees japan's declining birthrate as a problem
>>At that time, the fact that Vertexes were things (made) by (humans) was something we still did not know.
This could be interpreted as the Vertex made by humans outside of the barrier to attack the Tree or as the Vertex themselves made by (infected) human bodies. The later has some sense to it given how the Vertex core releases thousands of little colored lights when they are killed.
A number of virus-infected humans fusion into a single Vertex that is composed of matter (the human bodies) that fights and a core (human mind/souls) that powers it-> They risk it by going through the barrier to attack the Tree -> If they win it's over but losing to the Heroes means losing the very [Core] that powers them to the Tree.
So, by defeating Vertex by Vertex the Heroes release the [Souls] of the people that were infected by the virus into the Tree.
Was there an ad for the game during the broadcast?
I keep finding these but don't know where they're from.
One of my favorite stories. I love the whole Minamoto Yoshitsune and Benkei legend/history. I immediately recognized it when I saw the pictures from the LN of Gin's standing death.
Fits really well with the whole nationalistic theme of the series as well. All that Genpei War era stuff is so deeply ingrained in Japanese history. That's why the colors of their flag, (and the colors of those banners they hang at festivals, and the colors of the ribbons used to differentiate the two plyers in a kendo match, etc etc) are red and white. Those were the Minamoto and Taira clan colors.
>Yuna and Tougou decide to keep the truth to themselves
>and next time Karin goes mankai 10 times in a row
I think there was a new Vita game ad, yes. And I'm curious about it as well, because I believe you could see one of the Yuushas fighting half a dozen of small flying things there for a second. I wonder what that was about.
I am not sure. Seeing all this suffering is sad, but it's the kind of sadness that also feels good somewhere inside.
Guess I will do the 8th one.
While my body is _______ to Shinju-sama, I continued fighting.
Seems like that was a really cool thing...
So much that my parents was crying.
Wasshii... is _____-san now huh?
I'm glad that hers is lighter than me.
What will Itsuki's dream be now?
The hair and eye colors in the show and the LN change a lot depending on the lighting, and those character sheets for the LN yuushas generally seem to be a bit off in terms of coloring.
