Does anyone here watch anime on a 1440p monitor?
No, but it's apparent you're a pedophile.
Wouldn't you want to watch it on a secondary 1080p monitor instead?
Most anime are barely animated in 720p, so if anything 1440p will just make it looks like ass.
Because 1440p scales like shit
2880x1800 get on my level
I watch my chinese cartoons on this. Need 1440p monitor. I upgraded some of the hardware recently too.
Hey OP, nice Dominators.
Canon home printer, not good for business use, quite slow. Decent quality prints though ink is expensive. Doesn't look like a multifunction so you missing out on the ability to scan your work.
Small table, small tablet, with keyboard on a pull out. Pretty bad for hotkeying and ergonomics.
3/10. Only good thing about that is a dell monitor. Usually incurs some lag but I doubt you are a hardcore gamer.
I posted this at /g/'s gut threads a few times and feedback was mostly positive. I became bored after seeing the same builds over and over, though.
r8 my station
also why is the vita camera so great
I have a 1440p korean monitor that I watch anime and play games on.
It's okay I guess. 1440p is nice though sometimes since you can watch four anime at once and get stuff over with.
Other monitor is Dell U2312HM 1080p
also r8 muh battlestation
Q701s aren't that uncomfortable, they just feel kind of awkward.
I often use mine for staring at my desktop, which is nowdays photos that I have taken, which are always taken above 1080, which is why having monitors 1080 and below is so disappointing.
1440p is shit investment it will be new 720 dirt fucken cheap or 4k will be new 720p and we'll get 8k
either way you get fucked.there will better cheaper 2k that will come out and be cheap or 2k will be obscure shit
Oh. Don't worry, you'll get there someday! One day you'll have more disposable income than you know what to do with, and will have to look for excuses to upgrade.
>far more organized.
I used to use battlestation threads as motivation to tidy up my desk. Maybe other people are naturally tidy, but everyone has to start somewhere!
Really? I'm more critical of the composition of my photos, resolution doesn't matter as much when I'm staring at pictures I took (I'm guessing you're implying you took the photos in the attached screenshot).
Yea Elin butts look better in 2560x1440
Also the extra screen real estate works great for programming as well.
A lot of websites are scaled to only use 720 horizontal pixels so I can view two full web pages at once comfortably instead of having maybe some of it cut off. Being able to watch an episode of anime and still have 3/4 of your screen usable is nice as well.
Overall it's a pretty nice experience. Once you go 2560x1440, normal 1080 just seems small
You're probably right, but I feel like the 1440p 27" monitor is in a good place at the moment. It's just the extra screen size provides so much more than a typical 23 or 24 inch. However if you've ever used a 27 inch 1080p it's just a terrible experience as everything just seems unnecessary big. The extra pixels really help.
I don't think 4k is really viable at the moment though for the average consumer. It would provide additional clarity , but at the cost of additional graphics and operating system support. I have a laptop with a 2k display, and a lot of stuff is broken even in Windows 8.1. Stuff like Adobe flash games don't scale right, and legacy programs are unreadable. We'll have to wait a bit for people to really create stuff for 4k before it can really take off. I would rather take a 4k display over my 1440p for the same price, but at the moment I can't say I'd be willing to pay that much for it.
I can watch 2 animes at the same time.
I've always felt a bit guilty about using my own photographs as desktop material; it always seems a bit narcissistic. Though I'll admit I still do it.
What kind of camera / lens setup do you have?
For me it is part for remembrance and part motivation to go back to Japan.
I have a Nikon D7100 and mostly use a Tokina 11-16mm, Sigma 50mm 1.4 and 105mm 2.8 and the cheap Nikkor 35mm 1.8 which is really quite good for its price.
And I'm not saying my gear is top end good, I have a friend who has a D4, D810, the Nikon 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, the 85mm 1.4 and is looking at buying the Zeiss 55mm Otus (he would have bought it in Japan but they weren't going to have any in stock for another month), so I can appreciate the level my gear is at compared to what is above and below it.
Ah. That makes sense. I suppose I do garner a sense of motivation from my own travel photos (especially of Japan).
Fancy. or at least fancy enough to impress me. I've opted for a mirrorless setup, personally.
>The chromatic aberration is usually pretty whack if you look at text / lineart.
I think you're talking about 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. Some TVs provide 4:4:4
You need to view this image without resizing to check.
That means you have a 4:2:2 TV.
Displays used on computers should be 4:4:4 due to subpixel-exact text rendering and sharp edges that would bleed colors.
