To shame, anon.

Wouldn't you want to watch it on a secondary 1080p monitor instead?
Most anime are barely animated in 720p, so if anything 1440p will just make it looks like ass.
>>

Yeah, it looks worse.
>>
>>117473123
1440p is 720p double
each pixel will be represented in 4 pixels 2x2.

so it's better to watch 720 on a 1440p than a 1080p

Canon home printer, not good for business use, quite slow. Decent quality prints though ink is expensive. Doesn't look like a multifunction so you missing out on the ability to scan your work.

Small table, small tablet, with keyboard on a pull out. Pretty bad for hotkeying and ergonomics.

3/10. Only good thing about that is a dell monitor. Usually incurs some lag but I doubt you are a hardcore gamer.

>far more organized.
I used to use battlestation threads as motivation to tidy up my desk. Maybe other people are naturally tidy, but everyone has to start somewhere!

>>117475249
Really? I'm more critical of the composition of my photos, resolution doesn't matter as much when I'm staring at pictures I took (I'm guessing you're implying you took the photos in the attached screenshot).
>>
>>117475261
>>117475203
>>117475184
Yea Elin butts look better in 2560x1440

Also the extra screen real estate works great for programming as well.

A lot of websites are scaled to only use 720 horizontal pixels so I can view two full web pages at once comfortably instead of having maybe some of it cut off. Being able to watch an episode of anime and still have 3/4 of your screen usable is nice as well.

Overall it's a pretty nice experience. Once you go 2560x1440, normal 1080 just seems small
>>
What 1440 monitor would /a/ recommend?
Is the idea to just pick whatever throwaway korean name is popular at the moment, in order to get the best deal?
>>
>>117475318
While composition is important when you have a good high resolution sensor and a good lens it is a shame to literally throw away detail in order to display the photo.
>>
>>117475405
Dell 27" rage for any multimedia work.
Any others for general use.

If you play games like Street Fighter any 2560x1440 monitors have less than 5ms but those are really rare
>>
>>117475470
Humm. I guess we have different priorities.
Did you take the photos in your screenshots?
>>
>>117475470
>high resolution sensor
Just like to chime in also the sensor size.
High resolution sensor but with an itty bitty surface area is pretty bad.
>>
>>117475305
You're probably right, but I feel like the 1440p 27" monitor is in a good place at the moment. It's just the extra screen size provides so much more than a typical 23 or 24 inch. However if you've ever used a 27 inch 1080p it's just a terrible experience as everything just seems unnecessary big. The extra pixels really help.

I don't think 4k is really viable at the moment though for the average consumer. It would provide additional clarity , but at the cost of additional graphics and operating system support. I have a laptop with a 2k display, and a lot of stuff is broken even in Windows 8.1. Stuff like Adobe flash games don't scale right, and legacy programs are unreadable. We'll have to wait a bit for people to really create stuff for 4k before it can really take off. I would rather take a 4k display over my 1440p for the same price, but at the moment I can't say I'd be willing to pay that much for it.
>>
>>117475495
Yes.

Yeah. But I wouldn't watch it fullscreen unless it was a 1080p bluray encode.

720p is pretty small on it.

For me it is part for remembrance and part motivation to go back to Japan.

I have a Nikon D7100 and mostly use a Tokina 11-16mm, Sigma 50mm 1.4 and 105mm 2.8 and the cheap Nikkor 35mm 1.8 which is really quite good for its price.

And I'm not saying my gear is top end good, I have a friend who has a D4, D810, the Nikon 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, the 85mm 1.4 and is looking at buying the Zeiss 55mm Otus (he would have bought it in Japan but they weren't going to have any in stock for another month), so I can appreciate the level my gear is at compared to what is above and below it.
>>
>>117475802
Ah. That makes sense. I suppose I do garner a sense of motivation from my own travel photos (especially of Japan).

Fancy. or at least fancy enough to impress me. I've opted for a mirrorless setup, personally.

I think you're talking about 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. Some TVs provide 4:4:4

That means you have a 4:2:2 TV.
Displays used on computers should be 4:4:4 due to subpixel-exact text rendering and sharp edges that would bleed colors.
