Eh, I suppose that you need to keep the status quo intact. That might be the problem with a harem anime with an alpha protagonist: You won't be able to sustain the sexual tension, because a guy like that would make up his mind quickly. And once he does, things get a lot more boring because everyone else is an outlier. (There are exceptions, of course. Unbreakable Machine Doll's protagonist just wants to get on with the avenging already, and to get away from all the clingy bitches around him.)
