Your opinion on Boku no Hero Academia so far?
i love the art design for some reason
MC is pretty cliche but at least he can man up
Infinity girl is fucking cute as hell
There's a lot of character variety which is good
In short, i like it and hope it does good.
the end of the first chapter got me super hype.
Good but its nothing special. considering the pace, I fear it will break and end kinda soon
the author seem talented though so probably for his artistic growth its better this way.
also you know already the problem with the fanbase here. there is no need to make more threads.
It can go anywhere from here. Too soon to accurately grade it.
I like it so far but I think it's too early to decide
I like the contrasting art styles for heroes and villains
Character design and interaction are done pretty well
But the threads are fucking terrible and will probably become worse with time
This, with it's current popularity and staying in the top 5 for now it seems to have passed the initial hurdle and should at least go for a year, it's up to the author to really define what kind of manga he wants it to be.
That said I like All Might's contrasting art style, and it's potential to be like Mx0 where every character in the class is a "Main Character", but the fights didn't really interest me. Also will be interest to see the other freshman class when they are eventually revealed.
It has potential but it remains to be seen if it can live up to it.
The main character runs the risk of becoming too "helpless" in order to fuel the yaoi.
Kind of like Tsuna who always stayed a wimp regardless of how strong he got.
It only had a few chapters out, pretty hard to judge something from that. As for something getting more attention after nartuo ending, it still only has 13 chapters out in English, with twenty in Portuguese, a series getting a surge of popularity this quickly after it has come out can't really be tied to something else that easily, due to lack of previous exposure.
That said the threads so far have been terrible and filled with trolls, shitposters, newfags, and even shippers.
>Learning a second language
>Deku is likable
>cute unique girls
>the art is pretty cool
>it's about superheroes
>villains seem pretty badass
So far I have no problems with it, I like where it's headed.
Can't decide between frog and gravity they're both so good
grapes number 1 though
He's pretty much irrelevant. As are half of the class, unfortunately.
Here's my honest opinion, it's very meh. I do not see why people keep saying this might be the next big thing. There's really nothing special about this series at all. Maybe down the line as it keeps getting better, but right now it's so bland, I'll keep reading but I don't if I'll ever develop a love for it and I don't think it will blow up like many people are saying.
The manga started getting attention on /a/ after the first volume came out and it became one of the best selling first volumes of a WSJ series in years. Naruto ending didn't have much to do with it.
I like it well enough. The concept is fun but the main character's ability is kinda bland. The main female character is also really flat thus far; the relationship between the main character and his rival is way more compelling.
aside of the fact of naruto becoming hokage, its ending was awful, and the whole series developement sucked
Anything that fuels more frog doujins is fine with me.
He will die eventually, but I'm thinking the author is going to keep him around for some time.
Deku is still not good enough to stand on his own. I'd say we have one or two arcs with him stil.
The latest chapters scanned
in hue speakare pretty amazing. All Might and all the villains are great. I love how both the villains and students don't act dumb and actually put some strategy into their fighting.
Personally I think it has a lot of cliches and is incredibly generic in it's set-up and concept, it's execution is solid and well done though, All-Might is probably one of the better characters and is really likeable because he is sympathetic as a character, he is both weak yet powerful and comes off as vulnerable but comedic, similar to Vash.
The art is expressive which is good, there's never a page where a character's expression doesn't match the emotion of the text and it makes the characters themselves "pop" they all look different enough and you don't get a lot of same-face that you get in other battle manga.
It had an earnest and good start in my opinion a good highlight would be Deku's scream atop the pile of garbage, it has a very "invigorating" feeling with it's scenes, similar to Big-O how it can engross you in a scenario if you let it. That being said it has charm but that will only go so far, the plot seems rather aimless as of now and can go anywhere. I'd like to see it do well, but something tells me this author is going to crack under the pressure or run out of ideas fairly quickly.
Frogposters are a shit and the threads tend to attract shitposters and shipperfags so they're pure cancer.
In short, good read, shit threads.
The shitposters are annoying, but they get bored and leave pretty quickly, usually.
I just like a well executed shonen and the fights haven't fallen into the usual cliches yet. Hopefully the author can keep it together and not get this series canceled like his previous two works.
I like it, Some of the powers are generic but its to be expected, I like the design of some of the characters though.
All Might is just too based for this world, Anime by Madhouse never.
The mom is just so cute and sweet
It must've been hard for her to see her son grow up without a quirk, she didn't know how to support him.
He ends up passing and man you can see it in her face she isn't lying she just sees her son's efforts pay off, all his belief. I also like the fact that she started out a hottie and just became a normal mom
The artist who did these pics is awesome.
Well chapter one said that 80% have a quirk, so 20% must not have one, and I'm pretty sure there are suitable jobs for people who don't have quirks and for those whose quirks just suck. He wasn't really retarded he just had no chance of doing what he lived for.
>mfw she can control gravity as she wishes
>mfw more training will allow her power to fucking destroy the planet if she wishes to
THIS is deliciously fat.
I mean, fuck look at that.
The scanlations are going so slow I doubt we'll catch up with the japanese releases any soon.
English scans were being released a chapter every other day but they've slowed down recently for some reason. We can always read the BR scans.
>Yaoyorozu Momo Quirk: Creation
>I'm more concerned about the others.
>We gotta join them quickly.
>Hey, your clothes are all ripped...
>You gotta recreate them!
>Can create anything, as long as it is organic. That is possible thatnks to her knowledge in controling every kind of matter and particles!
I hope the quirk description is correct
>Kaminari Denki quirk Conductor
as in a material that conducts electricity, not as a driver...
>If the electric voltage exceeds the limit, he might end up burning his own brain, making him temporarily a complete idiot.
I am not a fan of his uniform if they made his ears smaller, Lose the bulky the teeth. And show his mouth. That will be cool, Also lose that rubber things around his legs. It just look ugly on him.
>everyone here is a dirty american
>wacky and fun costume designs
>a lot of hue contrast so crazy designs don't become a mess to draw or look at
>shounen MC has a nice way of powering-up that isn't entirely loaded with ass-pulls; requires (off-the-cuff) planning and teamwork
>characters, while superficial, have well-enough defined personalities and goals to provide interesting character interaction and plot development
>COME ON AND SLAM ULTIMATE SPACE FOR JAMS
>source of conflict is esoteric powers that don't seem to be bound by any sort of in-universe laws or balancing system
Double edged sword: it could provide longevity for the series if the author wants to expand on powers by giving them new ways to control/apply them or giving them outright strength power-ups, but doing so can easily exacerbate to DBZ power-level syndrome. The other issue is just the fact that new characters can be introduced with crazy-ass powers just as a way to drive conflict--which brings us to the next point:
>a lot of characters already; easy to see mass character introductions in the future
Bleach syndrome. Too many fucking characters. It becomes impossible not to either just write a bunch of them off or outright seem to forget that some ever existed. Characters become a means to an end, which is a shitty way to write characters.
The other issue with a lot of characters is one that is more universal among long-running shounen: "story arc" format. Each story arc is like a separate story within the story. This happens when the main cast vanquishes its conflict and needs more characters and environments in which to encounter more conflict. Flashbacks and exposition everywhere. It can drag.
I don't actually know what's wrong with the fanbase, but enough of you faggots cry about it, so there may be some merit. I haven't paid attention to this shit. I'm just reading it because it's enjoyable so far. If you want to drop some specifics on me about the fanbase, go ahead.
>implying you can't get stronger on a shounen
>know enough Spanish to know what they're saying
I should really just learn Portuguese anyway, though. Can't be that bad. I got enough hang of it just listening to people speak it around me for 5 weeks but that was forever ago.
A lot of the costumes and designs feel like shout outs. Deku has Kamen Rider's color scheme. Gravity and Frog both have X-Men reminiscent costumes. Iida and his family are standard Toku heroes. All Might is a silver age style hero, etc.
>source of conflict is esoteric powers that don't seem to be bound by any sort of in-universe laws or balancing system
Best case scenario is that they handle it in a jojo-esque fashion, maybe even combining synergizing character powers to counter the antagonist
Basically: Jojo but combined with the power of friendship
There's been some pretty creative power usage. Deku combines with Grapes in a water battle, for example.
I just can't wait until Deku unleashes a falcon punch and doesn't die from it.
It might be because there are like 50 different versions of Castillian--some of which are spoken as if the entire dialect's speaker-base suffers from mouth-cancer. Spanish is sort of long-winded, though. It doesn't flow as fast as Portuguese or Gallego.
Honestly, though, I felt the same way about Portuguese the first time I heard it. I think it's all about just exposing one's self to the language, and subtitles don't hurt if it's possible to get them.
Other BR here, and I feel the opposite from you.
Spanish is somehow fucking hilarious. Even though I can only understand a bit due to some similarity with Portuguese, I can never get over how funny everything sounds.
>remove particles atracttion to each other
>can remove gravitons from atoms and particles
you control gravity you control the universe
Yeah, but everyone over here are a bunch of uneducated cunts who think it's hard, that's why the "easier", learning Spanish and knowing Portuguese while neglecting English is fucking retarded.
Spanish is easier to learn than English if you already know Portuguese. As a native Spanish speaker I had relative ease learning Italian and Portuguese. Maybe I should've worked hard on Japanese instead...
you're right but even if just a small part of the core gets affected by her anti-gravity quirk. the damage is already unimaginable, It might even be more the enough to collapse the planet
Suddenly I want to draw a doujin where gravity girl and the mc are fucking, then the MC uses his quirk to strengthen his penis and Gravity uses her power to move in the air and make the definitive cowgirl.
I can't say whether or not this is true because I'm ignorant of the specific reasoning behind our universe's many physical processes, but this is the sort of "overskilling" that I was worried/excited about when I posted >>117457322. If it is indeed a frictional force, what if Gravity Puff ends up being able to generate crazy amounts of heat to burn of melt touched objects--either in the form of a fire punch or a sustained sear that simply goes into effect after she touches an object and sends it floating.
There was a specific panel about the costumes in which the author hinted at this sort of thing: something about a costume design might be altered based on further discoveries made about the subtitles of a hero's power. There's also the fact that super angry kid's fire power isn't magical fire throwing but rather he just sweats nitroglycerin from his palms and ignites it. It's already getting to JoJo stand level.
Not actually a thing, and if she is manipulating the higgs boson and the higgs field, then she can do some far crazier shit. If she can do that she can warp space, which would be awesome, but also require a huge amount of power.
I hope vest girl with the big tits gets more screen time. unf.
original character designs
We have a sea-slug girl already
>implying the higgs bosson doesn't alterate the electro-magnetic field inside the atoms core generating mass on the particles interaction
>implying that controling gravity doesn't allow you to destroy covalent bonds within atoms or protons attractions to neutrons due to higgs theory
No, that's not how that works at all, electromagnetism has no impact upon gravity. Every particle itself has mass all on it's own, and this mass is not influenced by other factors. Though increasing the energy of a particle increases its mass, that is a factor of energy and mass being relative.
Thank God he changed the designs. All Might is way too flashy, and Deku having one eye covered is really emo.
Considering how different one-shots are from series though, I hope Frog gets an expanded role considering her popularity. Then again, popular characters don't always get the focus their popularity would seem to warrant. Tsuruya...
>Be a BR inferior monkey
>godparents are Japanese and taught me moon
>learned English through games and perfected it on 4chan and VNs
>learning Russian due to all those untranslated novels l love so much
Feels quite good, living in a shithole makes you work extra harder.
>COME ON AND SLAM ULTIMATE SPACE FOR JAMS
But anon, if we had fewer people with quirks it would be less reasonable to have so damned many villains running around. I mean they mostly just seem like common crooks but for their quirks.
>gravrity look like a trap
>all might look like a god mailman
>bakou still someone an edgy deliquent with pants low
a side one-shot story of a human with no quirk that is a hero in this universe would be good
But with less villains there wouldn't be enough reason to have schools dedicated to teaching people to be heros. Think of it from the point of view of the story. As well I think the 80% may be a bit low, and that the younger generations may have a higher quirk to quirkless ratio, because Deku was the only quirkless kid in his class, rather than one of 3-5.
>surprisingly competent, holds off all of the henchmen while all might shows up 10 minutes late to take down the big bad (at this point All Might is discovering that he can't use his quirk as well)
>dies in obscurity, not even the quirkless can remember "Basic: The Hero Without a Quirk"
>godparents are Japanese and taught me moon
Just like my mom's side was norteño and taught me Mexican Castillian. Going to grandma's house with mom wasn't really work.
>learned English from media
I'd probably know Portuguese if the entire world often communicated in that language and Brazil exported a hyper-marketable culture across the world. Constant exposure while doing something that you enjoy isn't necessarily work. It is clever, though.
>learned Russian because he wanted to read untranslated novels
Good job. That's fucking nice.
Sasuke pulls an itachi, where he's secretly fighting to bring down the real big bads
Naruto uses rage and goes out of control, but sasuke pulls a 4th hokage and calms him down
Sakura becomes competent and uses jutsu that aren't just healing and punching (ie increased speed/reaction, ninjustu, maybe even a genjutsu based skill)
Kakashi fights on par with Naruto and Sakura, until Naruto gets his final power up
I'm fairly certain that a quirkless villain similar to Syndrome is going to show up eventually.
Yeah, but they tend to be shit.
I agree totally agree, which is why the fact that her hair is actually brown annoys me even more. Not only is her hair brown which doesn't look nearly as good with her costume's color scheme, she doesn't look brown in the manga itself.
Same reason as Superman, he's the definition of a hero. Saves the day, makes sure people feel safe, and even encourages people to be better.
>Hermes All Might
>Really brunette Gravity
Aside maybe from the color of Gravity's hair, I'm glad that Kohei chanced their desig-
>Kacchan is almost the same
I'm ok with this.
I love this series. The art style is very light hearted so far and I like it a lot. It's not the best but its good. It reminds a lot of One Punch Man though. I would have liked to see the MC go about with no powers longer. It made it a little more interesting that way. I would like to see him beat people with creativity and his own strength. Learning to use the enemies powers against them or something. I don't want to see him just punch somebody and win in one hit. We already get that in OPM, and I rather not have that element to this series.
Anon that is a terrible sword because it is a terrible way to make a sword. There are far better organic materials, technically there are organic compounds that aren't incredibly different from steel. Various insects have shells that are enhanced with metal or are otherwise actually compatible to metal in toughness and sharpness. I don't know exactly what the limits of her ability are, but a sword isn't a big deal even if she has to limit it to materials found in the human body.
i'm not sure about fapping to super hero doujins
I bet grapehero does it everyday.
Seriously, what is this guy's fucking deal?
>I don't want to see him just punch somebody and win in one hit.
He only did that once and it was to a robot. It might have taken years for All Might to reach the level of control he has, so once Deku starts to learn to control his powers he might forgo using them at all since even a partially controlled hit might kill someone thanks to his inexperience
I wish doujin artists were more well versed with western comics. I guess I just live in a world where there will never be good porn of Mera
This was hot as fuck
He's just doing what any of us would do when surrounded by cute girls in latex.
"organic" is a dumb classification anyway. I mean, if you dehydrate a bunch of blood and collect the iron you could technically make a blade out of it and it would still be organic.
i once read a doujin about spiderman, i couldn't even make it to the third page, i just love super heroes too much
depends on how her invisibility works
If its work like a force field around her that make things invisible, you wont see it.
If it works making her body, parts, organs, etc invisible, then you will see your dick
take it as really good anatomy class
I'm not gonna argue that
Man fuck Wondie and her hate of necks
We don't need to recreate something to prove it, you retard.
If we can define the laws that something(gravity) works on, and then test those laws to ascertain whether or not they are true(we have), then we have proved it's existence.
I'm pretty sure she makes everything inside her invisible as well. We don't see her lunch floating around, for example.
Overrated series, especially when there's not a lot of content to compare.
If I wanted a series that had people with super strength, I'd rather read HnK or Toriko
She's an exhibitionist and she probably does get cold.
Nope, she's always invisible. She is shown in uniform a few times, though.
>implying invisible isn't wearing suit made by pic related
One more time here. We haven't seen her turn it off yet and she might not be able to like other quirks that change your actual body.
>Come back to thread expecting the worse
>Gets physics and biology discussions
These threads are usually fine if shitposter-kun doesn't show up. Maybe a little too much waifu posting, but there's not that much material to go off of yet.
naruto was shit, and this is comfy and fun
>MC is based as fuck
>he has friends, and theres no drama asspull
>rival is a hothead but doesn't go with all that darkness faggotry
>all girls are best girls
Give it time. Explosive-kun will turn into a villain, friends are gonna abandon him when they found out he isn't really super, and several girls are shit, like the zombie-looking one, whatever the fuck her deal is.
If the author is a weak writer he'll go be a villain
If not he'll be a vegeta and just keep trying even harder to be the best.
Deku and Explosions are completely different, almost complete opposites.
Deku had no luck, no skills, no support. But has the heart of a true hero
Kaachan has skills, drive, luck, power, and battle sense,, but deep down inside he gets scared like everyone else.
Only thing Kacchan has going for him is his decent quirk and battle sense, he actually recognizes that, making him insecure.
I'm purely speaking from a prologue standpoint.
Before All Might named him the successor. Deku was scrawny and lacked confidence in anything but his dream..
Kacchan hates Deku because he views help from anyone as weakness on his part, and it's even worse because it's the baby retard of his class. Now the runt is powerful, has friends, and is showing a whole lot of spunk. Also he technically beat you during training so you have a loss now
>Hey anon how come you've chosen English instead of Spanish?
>Because it's fucking easier?
>NOOOOOOO WAY, everyone knows how to speak spanish "me hablas espanhol jajajaja" see?
Gravity girl is pretty broken tho
>touch an oponent.
>Small push to send him flying up
>opponent free fall to death
she could have beat teh 0 pointer from the admission exam
>unless the size of what she is making float affects its power
It's easy to learn to speck, but getting the confusing mess that's the written part can be a real bitch. Every natural language will have exceptions to it's grammar rules, English has exceptions to it's exceptions to it's exceptions. Comes from our habit of stealing every word that we think looks nice at the moment.
I think size, or at least amount of stuff she's affecting, and duration affect her power limiter. she got sick after floating that pice of the giant bot high enough to save deku, but the column chunk for a few seconds she had no problem with.
She still collapsed after floating herself and the column
Her wooziness could be caused by her accidentally making her stomach contents, or something similar, weightless. The more she uses her power for larger/multiple things, the more things she accidentally makes weightless. In that case, fixing the risk is having better control of her power. This would also explain why she was trying to concentrate before the entrance exam.
I personally love it thus far. The characters are nice and fun, the story and setting is interesting and open to many possibilities. Can't wait to read the next chapters and learn more about the abilities of the class/teachers/villains. I wouldn't be surprised if it got an anime adaptation in 1-2 years from now.
Well, this translation is just shit.
