I used to think 'GAR' was supposed to be ironic.
I was wrong, /a/.
>Are you gar for archer yet, /a/?
That's stretching it anon.
No, people yell about how awesome and gar he is for what he does in UBW. Except he's doesn't really deserve it. I like Archer well enough, but he pulls some seriously uncool shit in UBW and nobody ever acknowledges this.
Oh yeah, that was pretty bad.
The thing you have to understand though is that Archer was basically breaking that point; both mentally and physically. Like, he couldn't actually do shit to stop Shinji, since he was in no place to stop Gil, and more importantly, it would fuck up his plan to kill Shirou.
He was obsessed at that point. He tried warning him, he tried threatening him, but no matter what he did he couldn't get Shirou to back down from his ideal, which was screwing with his already unstable psyche. He's faced countless horrors being a counter guardian, and here's his younger self, in his mind, walking down the exact same path, and nothing he was doing was diverting him away from it. It was maddening.
It's functionally trespassing on the domain of True Magic. Second Magic, specifically.
The attack strikes you simultaneously by crossing over three different parallel worlds to do it.
Yes, it is as absurd as it sounds.
It doesn't guarantee a hit, but it's hitting you at the same time in three different ways, from three different universes, so you need to have a very high Luck and high Instinct/Eye of the Mind to avoid it.
Does luck really affect it since the attack is literally cornering you from every possible angle to hit you?
Wouldn't wearing something the sword cannot penetrate be a better defense?
>Does luck really affect it since the attack is literally cornering you from every possible angle to hit you?
Saber never manages to avoid a perfect Tsubame Gaeshi in the VN.
Ufotable fucked up
That's the second fight, she uses that gap to defeat Assassin
We didn't really see the first fight during UBW but I think everyone assumes it's supposed to go just like the Fate one, where Assassin uses only two slashes because of the footing
And not filthy backstabber
Rin should realy have ditched Saibah and contracted him
He'd have to wait for some bullshit to kill Berserker offscreen (or just kill Ilya, or just wait for all the other Servants to die so Ilya absorbs their souls and stops functioning) but otherwise it would be pretty easy.
With Gae Bolg and being immune to projectiles he's an even better Gilgamesh counter than Shirou.
Gil has A Luck. Gae Bolg isn't a problem. And Lancer is immune to projectiles only provided they're not powerful NPs. Gil has plenty of those.
>Gil has A Luck. Gae Bolg isn't a problem.
That's not how it works. Even with Saber's Luck it was stated to be a incredibly small chance that Gae Bolg misses and she had to use 2 layers of plot armor Luck and Instinct
