I feel like you are being too harsh on the story anon. Simple isn't always bad and for a 1 cour it's giving us more than enough meat to chew on. Honestly they couldn't handled the setting much better in my opinion, they found a way to get the most out of the mixed pantheon while not falling into the traps of having too many focus points or flashy characters without substance.

Yeah I mean the apparition. It appears demonic in nature. Azazel appeared to recognize it. It bares some resemblance to the demon in the first fight against Bahamut. It most likely is not the clown demon (or else Azazel would have said something about that when they met).
Perhaps it shines with a golden hue because holy magic was used to seal satan?
In my opinion it didn't appear under Michael's forced transformation because it can appear whenever it damn well pleases. (if its something like zues or satan this would make sense.)

Still just my theory but I'm not seeing any reason to abandon it yet.

The apparition is indeed demonic but Amira is in possession of the God Key exclusively. She has Zeus' soul which is a different entity from the one protecting her. But since she's both angel and a demon such mixture can probably exist in her body without harming her. We don't know yet if Martinet works alone but he's certainly working against Lucifer under his nose and probably not alone.
