Akatsuki is perfect. Prove me wrong
IRL Akatsuki > In-game Akatsuki.
>how do you even fight with two giant slabs of metal strapped to your arms
not if henrietta decides to enter the race
>Being a commoner
>Being so common your love interest doesn't even bully you
I wanted to try and prove you wrong but I couldn't find anything.
She's boring, one-dimensional, generic, has a forced romance, and is written as good as a Sword Art Online character.
So yeah she's pretty shitty.
Between the silent scenes with Akatsuki and Shiroe and the sudden death of our hero, this was easily the best episode of the season. Maybe even the whole series.
Not as expected, DEEN. You did good.
Lots of people posting the wrong girl in this thread.
Holy fucking shit. I haven't been in the threads for a few days, so I gotta ask:
Is this real life?
I think I like Smooth Jazz Nyanta better than Jouji Nakata, full stop
Fuck you, IRL Akatsuki is a miracle of the universe. And her fashion sense is impeccable:
>short one piece dress
>heavy winter coat
>those sexy red shoes with no socks or stockings in winter
Then explain why best girl is stacked you plebs.
I actually kind of dig that they made Naotsugu and Nyanta so over the top. Smooth chocolate Nyanta and 100% dudebro Naotsugu really makes a lot of sense, and is absolutely hilarious.
I can't believe how awful her character design is now. Was that the fault of the LNs or DEEN? Her qt reasonably proportioned S1 design with the hat was so much better.
not deens fault mamare is into cowtits
Might just be the perspective, but those breasts look significantly smaller than the ones on the show. Each individual one on the show is like the size of her head.
Big tits =/= cowtits.
I fucking love Kanami. I love the idea that she remade the exact same character on another realm, went "Ehhh...it's missing something...", then turned the boob slider all the way up to maximum and yelled "PERFECT!"
Then she meets the Uber NPC Hero and treated him the way all RPG players treat overpowered Super-Cool NPC's: as a minion capable of carrying some of her excess stuff.
Kanami is an OG straight out of /tg/.
Why is Misa the best adjutant?
Akatsuki was an ERPer.
For those of you that remember, her original avatar was her ideal man.
"But that doesn't make sense" you may think. She's obviously straight. Why would she make a male character to ERP with? The answer is fujoshi. Her gig was to try to find gay males to trick into ERP. Of course this would often be another fujoshi rather than a gay male. Some of you may be familiar with the phenomena (famously the two lesbians in EQ who got married and found out they were both guys).
Shiroe was a guy she was scouting out to have rotten relationships with. She was hoping he would have a gay side. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. She then fell in real love with him. She imagined a family, real hetero relations, the whole nine yards. He cured her rottenness.
So wish come true, she got a shape change potion and she gets to be with Shiroe all the time now. There's one major problem though, that shape change potion doesn't actually change your gender. She just made herself extremely feminine looking and short, basically her real body except for her giant-fujoshi-powered cum-spewing cock. Karma right?
Every day Akatsuki sits around doing nothing rubbing one out in frustration. She is extremely disturbed at the actual implications of being a male herself! She knows Shiroe will never accept her disgusting, rotten smelling, and constantly leaking cock.
Now this middle school slut has come out of no where. This slut is upping the ante and gunning for her man, and she's actually talented at the game and useful. There is only one outcome of course. Akatsuki is going to rape Minorin. Minori may have more talent, but she's naive and trusting and a lower level. An assassin like Akatsuki will have no problem luring her outside of town and relieving herself in Minori's soft young ass.
Unable to drown out the situation she'll join in Minori's chorus of frenzied crying. Every thrust will come with an apology. But she won't stop.
>you will never hold her hand
How much are they going to adapt?
The OP is full of stuff that can be seen on volume 8 illustrations, are they going further than that?
He's a frat boy transitioning into the real world. That's why he works a day job as a salaryman, but still comes home to play video games until 3:00 am.
I wish they had included Misa's weapon acting up in an earlier episode, so it didn't feel so sudden when Disaster finally occurred.
RIP Krusty; a fate worse than death.
>Akatsuki was an ERPer
>Her gig was to try to find gay males to trick into ERP
>She then fell in real love with him
>her giant-fujoshi-powered cum-spewing cock
>Akatsuki is going to rape Minorin
>Implying Krusty isn't going to become the final boss
He's wielding the Demon-Axe of Fresh Blood, the Berserker's Bangle, and Einherjar armor worn by warriors going to Valhalla. He's going to become a deranged bloodthirsty villain. Shit, it's already begun. Remember how much fun he had killing those gobbos?
Players are much more fun to kill than goblins...
>Remember how much fun he had killing those gobbos?
That's exactly why some adventure in the China server with Kanami will be good for him. He was getting bored curbstomping gobbos with an unstoppable army, so now he gets to adventure his way across a continent with a small party to return home.
Although, he's probably going to be saved by Raynesia because that's how these things go.
As an "interesting coincidence", remember the decorative set of armor they made Raynesia wear for that speech?
Valkyrie Armor. Valkyries being the ones who took the Einherjar to Valhalla. Krusty is wearing Einherjar Armor.
Have you been adjusting your glasses correctly?
He's not "bored". Berserkers were basically drug addicts. They were torpid and seemingly not in their skulls most of the time, but once their blood was up (and their drugs were taken), they were raging engines of destruction that couldn't be stopped until killed.
The more time passes since the Apocalypse, the more real the flavor text becomes, the more Krusty is starting to feel both sides of that coin. Every minute he isn't beating someone to death is just so much wasted time.
He's a blood knight in the making.
Hey, don't you just flip me off like that, you stupid blondie!
Are you talking about real-world berserkers, or rules specific to LH?
I don't see any reason for Crusty to meet up with Kanami if he's just going to turn into a major villain.
Real-world berserkers. Both in fiction and in cases were people have entered a berserk state, what follows is emotional numbness and torpor. Berserkers thus experience the extreme ends of the spectrum; there isn't much in-between for them.
I love how these guys went from dickass PKers to lovable recurring minor characters. Based Shirou redeeming even the least worthy of adventurers into great characters.
It's a bit much to expect an MMO berserker to behave like a quasi-mythological Norse warrior archetype, don't you think? A far better and more likely comparison would be to the D&D idea of the Conanesque barbarian, where you love fighting and fly into berserk rages in combat, but can still be a perfectly decent and sane person.
You know, pretty much exactly like what Krusty has been doing.
>Yeah, cuz Elder Tales isn't reflecting the real world at all.
Oh please, that argument is crap and you know it.
If Elder Tales, and Log Horizon by extension, is influenced by any real-world "berserker" archetype, it's almost certainly the archetype propagated by RPGs and fantasy novels, not the mostly misunderstood historical example you've seized on.
>implying they weren't lovable from the beginning
There is nothing that says it's reflecting the real world. You are just interpreting shit that way.
People being able to make salads isn't the real world creeping in. it's people accidentally grinding their cooking skill on entry level cooking recipes like adding salt or using their forks and knives.
The only thing remotely suspect that could support your opinion but is invalidated by absolutely no corroborating evidence (like magic ceasing to exist or any of the other changes giving an ounce of "realism") is the world expanding as time goes on.
DATABASE is a bit of a dumb song, but as an OP, it works wonderfully well.
I'm so glad that they listened to fans and brought DATABASE back for S2. Shows dropping a great and potentially iconic OP is a huge pet peeve of mine. I have perhaps an unhealthy level of investment in theme songs.
>I'm anon, and I think that the best OP ever created should not be reused
A different, superior ED was used for S2. Why not use that same logic for the opening? Something COULD have surpassed Database if you fucking autists would shut the fuck up and give it a chance.
>A new season should have a brand new theme.
Nah, fuck that. I much prefer the Western approach where one song becomes iconic for the entire show and you just change up the animation. It's just not the same for me when I have 4-5 songs each competing to represent the show in my mind.
The kid has a whole life ahead of her and she's smart, if she fails to attract any males being herself, she'll eventually go full predator on a younger boy at some point.
Henrietta is an easy girl just begging to be a drunken lay at a pub one night, probably an easy conquest for some college douchebag with a huge ego and small cock.
Akatsuki is the only truly, exceptionally hopeless one, but even could probably get some fat otaku dick at a LARP meetup. There's a breakpoint with autism where it doubles back on itself and scoring becomes easy again, because you've become so strange that you open up the entire vast and hopelessly desperate subculture you obsess over as possible partners, and all of their standards are as low as yours.
>I much prefer the Western approach where one song becomes iconic for the entire show and you just change up the animation
So like I said, you're autistic and can't stand change.
>It's just not the same for me when I have 4-5 songs each competing to represent the show in my mind.
They represent different parts of it.
I get what you're trying to say, but there are also times where I'd say a bunch of songs were done right. Monogatari had at least 10 OPs, and all of them were good, and seem to represent the show equally (EG: Hakkin Disco makes me think of Nisio just as much as Renai Circulation)
>So like I said, you're autistic
Wow, really? That sure is a buzzword these days, huh. Great argument, anon!
>They represent different parts of it.
Sure, but the end result is that nothing stands out as really iconic to me, compared to shows that stick with a single OP.
Ultimately, I just don't see any reason to change a well-loved, great OP.
I don't have anything against the idea in principle, particularly when the change results in a better OP. I simply don't care for it when the existing OP is already perfect for the show, as was the case for DATABASE.
>Wow, really? That sure is a buzzword these days, huh. Great argument, anon!
There's nothing to argue about. You don't like change, you specifically say "B-but it makes it more iconic!". It's autism, plain and simple.
> I simply don't care for it when the existing OP is already perfect for the show, as was the case for DATABASE
It's only good for the first season. The second is a blight, and I skip it every single time.
I'm glad our debate didn't turn into a shouting contest
>You don't like change, you specifically say "B-but it makes it more iconic!".
Humor me, anon: what's any better about wanting change for change's sake?
Me too, anon.
I think the use of both and the transition was quite appropriate.
ED1 was more fitting at first since it was a phase where Akatsuki still was not certain about what it was she felt or wanted.
ED2 now fits more that Akatsuki wants to open up to the world, so-to-speak, and has established reachable goals for herself.
SAO is definitely way more accessible to normalfags thanks to higher-budget animation, lots of action, and a brooding, dark MC, though.
I have trouble believing that the majority of Toonami's audience could appreciate the wonder of air glasses. There's also the issue that Log Horizon does indulge in what normalfags will see as "weird Japanese" cliches like Naotsugu endlessly cracking panty jokes and getting kicked in the face. Even I got a little fed up with that, and I'm definitely not the average Toonami viewer.
Ultimately, LH's low budget and sparse action would probably be the largest issue, as >>116737989 noted.
>Even I got a little fed up with that
I know what you mean. It could've been fine, like a whack in the back of the head or something liket hat, but they dedicated too much time on each instance of each joke.
Yeah, that was definitely humor aimed at the younger audience. Can't blame them for that, since we're not the target audience after all, but that's not going to play well on Toonami at all.
