I read it years ago but still remember it.
When MC asks when she will return, there is a panel with her sad face in a dark frame, then she suddenly changes theme and asks will he go with her.
It's pretty obvious that she didn't answer his question because she knows she will never come back.
I guess MC also understood it but thought she would have better life with someone near her age and stuff.
