>Still no anime about moe planes
Don't hate, the plots would be perfect as an anime.
Opening scene. Did you know... there are three kinds of aces? Those who seek strength. Those who live for pride. And those who can read the tide of battle. Those are the three.
An Ace Combat based anime would be pretty cool.
You guys do know of Ace Combat 3, yeah? And you do know that there was a VHS release with cut scenes spliced to make it look like a documentary, right? Or are you one of those people who think ace combat started with 4 (or even worse, 5)
It's not a "real" animu I suppose, but it's close enough. And AC3 was basically an anime in itself anyway.
Looks like they won't have any good planes for a while.
Reminder that Dassault girls are the best.
Also, the Rafale is the most purest planefu.
Considering the Rafale's past troubles of getting an export contract, I'd said her contract with India(still pending apparently) is pretty good. But yeah, it's referencing it.
Now I'm curious. What is /a/'s planefu?
>implying you'd get a say in the matter!
CAS aircraft are the best.
I dunno man, there are some goddamn sexy air superiority fighters.
>people liked 5 a lot and its the most popular so im going to talk shit
eat a fucking dick
i've played belkan war 4, 5, and 6... and assault horizon..
then i played a namco plane game at this japanese arcade called round 1 and it was on rails fucking filth that was literally dog fight mode the entire game .. they can die now
ill still love the old ace combat though
We have series with jets, tanks, and warships turned into cute little girls, what about helicopters?
Why don't Japan/Korea love helicopters?
Best plane coming through all other planes a shit
Saw it in person at the US Air Force Museum. Most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
So, basically, they just ploted a coordinates in that canyon that if they stick inside them they can just say "fuck that shit" and fly a straight line withouth danger, preferably with both feet crossed over the command console and the hands behind the head, sunglasses on, and smoking a cigar?
That's taking the "ace pilot" concpt to a new level.
Unless the scene is meant to mean something else...
the sea flanker is a god damned work of art.
But the canyon is not straight line, you had to turn left and right.
In Lethal skies they have same scene, but in lethal skies you will also control your plane to be not blown out by winds, I literally take trying 12 times to finish that mission.
Too fast you crash, too slow you blown by the wind and crash.
But folding wings decrease stealth.
In slow mode the wing has to be spanned, and recon mission requires to fly slower than 250 KM/Hr.
You need plane that able to stay at current alti without using it's flaps to get into slow speed.
The MC's gotta be a Jap plane fueled by YAMATO DAMASHII
>Scroll through thread
F-15 is the best, and you can't say otherwise.
What kind of secret jet aircraft programs do you think the US has going on now?
>Minimum radar signature
>Enclosed engine for minimum heat signature
So, rather than evading the detection of radar this plane is created with evading Missile both guide by radar and heat in mind.
the sea vixen is so sexy
A-sat weapons are ok if the orbit is more or less static. Something maneuverable at hypersonic or even orbital speeds is a different story.
Interception isn't easy at those velocities.
>aircraft girls flare when they're surprised
>Ah... it's hitting my exhaust nozzle~~ No, not the afterburner!!
>My airbrake is opening~!
How the hell has this not been posted yet?
Reminder that the obsolete A-10 is compromising the F-35's IOC deadline by taking away personnel that could be better spent being trained for F-35 maintenance. Also with LRIP 8 the cost is cheaper than ever; lower than the Eurofighter.
They saw an Osprey, found it cool, and copied the general idea.
Few shows actually bother with the fine points of realism, and even those who do tend to be stretchy with 'em. (See GuP for instance)
well, they were shown being realistically mowed down with ease
the Knights' planes (which at least had a MG that could be fired directly forward) were shown to be able to at least have a fighting chance, but still were clearly inferior - you'll notice most seem to have been wiped out by the end of the last battle.
I always impress myself how Armed Forces and /a/ walk
holding hands,Why can't we have a good WW2 simulator game? Do this, you spawn 3km from the target, the opposing force has another airport at 6km away, don't ask me why we didn't forced the troops to kill them yet shit is so boring.
I just wanted to play as a spotter flying through the coast for hours and reporting to mission control about how everything is fine.
That's from The Pilot's Love Song, actually. That series is not a coninuation of the movie, it's just set in the same world (and we get a very brief cameo or two).
Any word on the sequel?
hahahaha who the fuck thought that was a good idea
>let's take a plane that can't glide
>and a helicopter that can't autorotate
>that has no lift balancing if it loses one of its incredibly hot and exposed engines
>and stick it into close air support
>a role that's getting so dangerous they're trying to force a plane that had the words "titanium bathtub" written in its design document out of service early
>because it transition from flight to hover
>the most dangerous part of its flight envelope
>so it can park its incredibly large, loud ass out in front of the world and fire rockets at muslims in pickup trucks
>You will never down Yellow 13
>You will never paralyze an entire country in fear at the sight of your ribbon marking
My face when they were blowing up Bf 109s. But by god were the girls sex in the last episode.
sorry here's another picture that expresses first my interest and then my disgust
>Nothing wrong with F-18
>US since past WW-2 have less and less carrier capable ship
>Replaced by LPD and LST Assault ship
They want a fighter jet that able to land there just like harrier but have stealth as it's feature.
They should have built the YF-23, you mean.
reminder that the gun-type uranium bomb cost about a quarter as much as the V2 program and the only reason the manhattan project is even remembered as expensive is because the US had the money and manpower to pursue a second, completely insane bomb type simultaneously
Even carriers themselves are become less important as they're a big juicy target and the Navy has lets its ASW ability go to absolute shit. Ultra quiet diesel submarines have been proven able to penetrate the ring of defense and make simulated attack runs on it multiple times (Swedes did it).
Not to mention the potential to be swarmed by tons of small vessels on suicide runs.
>Hey guys tactical victory will someday win over strategical victory right?
Did you know why US build so many bases around the world? To compensate the lack of carrier to cover all of those location.
>Hey I able to destroy this, thus able to defend my country.
Again, wrong, only US, Chinese, and Russians have ability to launch a missile that can reach 1000KM in atmosphere, meanwhile aircraft can be refueled to travel more far than that.
>Carriers stays 1250KM from your shore
>Launch all fighters
>Destroy your strategic location undetected because stealth
>The end you can't resist enemy landing group.
This is why strategical advantages will always over the tactical advantages.
Carriers also present the political pressure to where they stay, example is your post, many country start developing missile that able to pass the carrier battlegroup and hit the Carrier while ignoring CIWS.
No, your missile will be too large to reach more than 1000KM, also you need supersonic missile to evade the CIWS from the battlegroup.
>Being alone without battlegroup
>Not using cruiser that have superior sonar capabilities
millennium challenge 2002 was a ridiculous clownshow. the guy running red force decided that anything that didn't have rules explicitly written out didn't matter, so he was conducting his shit aided by faster than light motorcycle couriers, handheld radios without maximum distances, perfect encryption that caused no confusion or delay in receiving orders, and fishing boats that weren't swamped by firing one ton antiship missiles off their decks
he got BTFO for wasting everyone's money and wrote a book about his anal devastation over it
>>Being alone without battlegroup
>>Not using cruiser that have superior sonar capabilities
What part of the Swedish diesel sub penetrated though the battlegroup's layer of defense and was able to make attack runs at the carrier don't you understand?
Only if superior Macross YF/VF-19 fighters do as well.
>The "Torpedo 613" is an incredibly powerful anti surface ship weapon, packing a range of about 12 miles, an engagement speed of 40kts and a massive high-explosive warhead weighing in at nearly about 650lbs.
man torpedoes haven't improved much since ww2, that's shorter and slower than the jap type 93 and with half the warhead
probably a lot quieter and more stable though
All of the current diesel-electric subs can murder carrier battlegroups.
I remember the Dutch destroying the Theodore Roosevelt + a load of other ships during one exercise and slipping away unharmed.
The Mighty B-52.
Also, obligatory inclusion of this song: http://youtu.be/zzI3-73ELxw
who 5th gen here
Still showing the youngin's how to thumb their noses at the commies properly.
Me and my kids were the ones who made the hammers break and the sicles fold. F-22 and F-35 are the only ones not old enough to remember that.
It's a ruse, she's only pretending to be retarded moe while in reality she's recording all your communications and emissions. SIGINT bear-chan will be the one who has the last laugh when your radars get jammed and your ECM doesn't work.
"J...J... JAM IT IN!", airplane-style!
DEPENDS HOW IT WAS FUSED
A CONTACT FUSE WOULD HAVE DETONATED, MINIMUM SAFE DISTANCE LOCKOUT COULD BE DISABLED
CANT WAIT TILL TOM CRUISE PUTS 100 MILLION INTO THE YUKIKAZE LIVE ACTION, ANIME STUDIOS WISH THEY HAD HOLLYWOOD BUDGETS
THE PLANE WAS SET BACK IN THE HANGAR FAR ENOUGH AWAY TO ESCAPE THE EXPLOSION, ALSO ITS A MOVIE
THAT YUKIKAZE GIF IS OLDER THAN THE INTERNET
BUT YOU CAN REMAKE IT WITH EXPENSIVE CGI
HOLLYWOOD'S ALL YOU NEED IS KILL ADAPTATION WAS AWESOME, BY FAR THE BEST VERSION OF THAT MATERIAL. HOLLYWOOD MOVIE > LN > MANGA
Since this is the closest we have now for an /ak/ thread...
Momo, if you're reading thisi thread, we'd need TL of pic related to properly upload the omakes+extras
>The entire hanger was crowded full of planes.
When I was there they had the YF-12 right next to the Valkyrie.
[s]Streets of Fire 2[/s] Blue Uru?
Heres your Stratos 4. Shit hasn't moved in months, and these are the only torrents for it.
>planes = war
>war = bad
>bad = no good message about friendship, peace, and hard work in society
We ain't gonna see plane or military animu until the chinks go full china will grow larger.
>tfw the age of rotors is over for planes
Muh propulsion rotors, gotta say it's cool as fuck.
These threads are borderline /d/ sometimes, it's scary.
This thread is now a no-fly zone.
SAVING PRIVATE RYAN: PSYCHIC ALIUMS EDITION
EDGE OF TOMORROW, ITS A HOLLYWOOD ADAPTATION OF THE JAPANESE LN ALL YOU NEED IS KILL
Wind blowing smoke the the left - except for the smoke made by aircraft going down at that moment. To their credit, the smoke:fire ratio is pretty accurate, but that direction clash...
>always impress myself how Armed Forces and /a/ walk holding hands
/ak/ have been the OTP for a while and the US Army is full of weebs.
