ITT: The most likable "bad guy" of their respective series.
Lordgenome is one heroic motherfucker.
>throws out his daughter for no reason
>promotes inhumane slaughter and oppression
>arrogant in all the wrong ways
He only helped out the good guys in the end because he had nothing else to do. Almost every other bad guy was more likable, Spiral King a shit.
>implying you didn't cry when you watched his Parallel Works
>Throws out daughter for no reason
Except she was part Anti-Spiral
>Promotes inhumane slaughter and oppression
It was either suppress humans or the universe dies because too much spiral energy
>arrogant in all the wrong ways
Well he took out basically all of the gunmen of Earth and became the king of earth. I'd be pretty cocky too.
I thought the anit-spirals kept infecting them or whatever and that was why he sealed them away. He played the evil son of a bitch card really well because he needed to to keep the planet (and it's population) down.
>Later, Lordgenome ordered Guame to monitor the "Beauty Village," a village made up of young, beautiful girls abducted from other villages that Lordgenome deduced as having the highest chance of producing humans with an artificial dummy gene, which, upon detection of high amounts of spiral energy, would trigger a transformation into an Anti-Spiral scout. Over the years, he would select girls from this village to sexually satisfy him, producing thousands of children who he summarily executed before they could mature into a powerful enemy. This purpose was kept a personal secret so that even Guame misunderstood the meaning; he had thought Lordgenome killed his children out of a disgust for self-awareness.
While I love Lorgenome not just for his character, I've got to point out he didn't know Nia was an antispiral. At least I'm pretty sure he didn't. Also, he was arrogant as shit because he was the strongest being in the galaxy for like a thousand years, but after getting his ass kicked and realizing he was wrong, he humbled himself and fought alongside Team Gurren not as a king, but a warrior among his comrades and even sacrificed himself for them and the universe without hesitation. He wasn't perfect, but in the end he was a hero.
I'm pretty sure his entire reason for choosing those girls was because they would end up as anti-spirals. It was pretty fucking evil, but there was at least a solid reason for it, not just hurr durr I want to fuck and then murder because animal. I can't remember where this is from, but I know it's not just from a random wiki page.
The way he lives, the way he dies, the way he's seen as the villain through the lenses of the viewer's camera...
The show coming out in 2007.
Mistborn came out in 2007.
Lordgenome is Rashek
I <3 wrath
That isn't Viral.
Sure, Lordgenome was fucking great, but when it comes to likeability, come on.
nigga Wrath is hot yes homo homo all over his booty
This fucker is a bad guy, not even in quotes, he's a bad dude. But to see that it has to be forced so bad for him to be hated makes him seem in this situation like an extremely likeable character
Face it: he seemed like a secret good guy for at least the first 2/3 of the first series.
He put up with so much crap but was still a pretty cool guy.
Guy just wanted to show people how to live and save them from the fate of the surface world.
Except Char isn't a "bad guy" in Zeta
He is in 0079 though. In which he is based as fuck.
This fucking guy.
Also a good option.
He isn't even a bad guy in 0079, he fought against the real bad guys (Zabi family) just like the main character. He was just Amuro's rival because he happened to be on the other side.
That fucking scene... THAT FUCKING SCENE! Oh there's Yoko fantasizing about all the men she has and will blow in the universe
There's Leeron and friends working as engineers
All these desire driven possibilities of life, I wonder what Viral desires most?
>oh, this is a dream..
HE DOESN'T EVEN GET SNAPPED OUT OF IT OR W/E, HE KNOWS!
No, Char's a badguy in that he's a huge fag who tries to destroy the Earth on flimsy circumstantial evidence and for petty revenge.
Oh, I guess he is just like Lord Genome then.
Literally the son of Zeon wasn't he?
Wasn't his real name Casval?
Actually, right part of your pic is.
Goddamnit she is so fucking cute.
For some reason, Kittan's death always hits me hardest. The lead up to Kamina going is worse than the event itself, and I'm always too furious about Nia going to be sad about it. But Kittan's final kiss, final speech and final everything just gets me every time.
Thanks you assholes, it's been years since i last watched TTGL and you just made me remember how every single good character in the show was killed or had to live forever alone while that traitorous cunt Rossio was made president of the goddamn universe.
The only thing that saved the show from being absolute shit.
Zeon isn't a bad guy though. The Zabi family is what made the nation of Zeon something that needed to be destroyed, if Zeon was still alive and leading, the Earth Federation would have been the bad guys (If they fought Zeon).
he's made even more likable by the fact that he did nothing wrong at all
Oh I know that.
Zeon himself just wanted humanity to progress, and he had a vision of a world full of newtypes that would work together and understand each other.
Char kind of became the torch bearer of that dream, whereas the Zabis tried to corrupt it, using the newtypes abilities to dominate others rather than to coexist with them.
I was just saying that Char was definitely in line with the Zeonist ideals, though in their pure form, not in their Zabi-ism manifestation.
Awesome guy. Did they ever say if he was related to the
Alienin some way?
Meh, I always liked him for what he was. His backstory could have been anything really. Of course, it could have been something that would have made me like him more, but as is it doesn't really change anything.
No mention of Ragyo? Im disappointed /a/, its like you dont praise strength and swag.
Bad as mofo, oberstien was good as well
