Villains with admirable motives
Croutons was kinda dumb but Saaz had better motive than anyone else in the show.
"You fight with the resolve to lose? I do not understand. You fight for the human race? If so, know that my actions are in fact for their benefit. For example, in human society, lands are divided by national borders, much like territorial marking. On the right side of the border, children may starve to death. While on the left, scum who do nothing have everything they need. Absolute madness. I shall destroy all of that, and create a world so fair the very concept of inequality will be forgotten."
He just wanted to give give humanity supreme happiness.
I fucking love Meruem, he was such a good villain
Lio did nothing a normal human being wouldn't have done if it wasn't for the laws.
He just wanted his people to live happy in his country
No, that was the reason for invading earth in the first place. And it happened on order of the emperor. His reason was "my wife died in a war we started so I got butt-hurt" and nothing more.
Johan was a faggot and Tenma was a dick for not killing that asshole after he tried to get everyone killed via burning to death.
His motive is literally he wants to watch the world burn so there is nobody left and his bullshit about "true freedom with a world without names" is completely asinine bullshit.
>He could have saved us from the horror of Ao if we had just let him. Instead we let some punk hippies kill him because muh feels
Oh Dewey, if only we knew then what we know now
>believes in Democracy
>watches democracy burn itself to the ground in the wake of the Imperial Galactic Empire
>still believes in democracy
He wasn't a villain, but his inaction and moral rigidity killed more humans than ever in the history of the world.
Though if they gave him a single cruiser and infinite time he'd probably be able to overthrow the Kaiser
I don't see how killing himself in the past being an admirable motive.
I just notice this but isn't the symbol on his left shoulder the same as the Tails'?
Fucking Twirl confirmed for keikaku doori mastermind.
It was a dream almost captured.
If she was just cockblocking the siblings because incest is shit I'd agree but she's just cockblocking them so she can have sibling A for herself.
Therefore she does not have admirable motives.
What the fuck did you just say you spineless cock sucking maggot?
>Protect your clothes from staining
>Save you from burns and hot oil
>Look fly as FUCK
And most importantly they make my dick hard
Not much you can do, really
High fantasy pretty much means 1-dimensonal villain.
If you want someone to not lose interest, then the villain has to have at least one not-evil aspect, one redeeming quality
This is more of a personal idea i have, but there are hundreds of stories were the good guy is pretty bad, but since he is the protag of his story, we like him and his actions
I've always wanted a story were you see from the villains POV in the start. The villain is on what he thinks is the path of justice, while the real protagonist acts as the antagonist who wants to stop his goal at all costs.
Then at some point, let the POV switch, and let the reader decide which one is truly righteous
You shouldn't really ask this in /a/ by the way.
Says a pleb who has, and will forever be provided with, everything he needs to survive in this world because he was born into one of those land denominations ol'Commieum described. This is while public water supplies are bought and the public dies for lack of water.
Yeap, the third world gives a fuck what you have to say.
Yes, please force a system that involves culling the majority of the human population onto the entire world for the people in poor countries.
Even ignoring whether communism was a good idea or not, what Meruem wanted still involved mass murder/genocide.
Make a story in which the high fantasy villain never existed, but was a mythos.
Insert your regular shounen pro tag except add a bit more moral-relativism to his ideology so that he justifies some of his actions against the idol of the imaginary villain. Give him just enough information throughout the series to account for a pseudo-logical justification for the sacrifices/evil-choices he makes along the way. Then have him discover that there was no great boogeyman, and that the life he carved out for himself was decided by him alone.
How can you hate him?
"Generic high fantasy" is pretty broad.
Do you mean you want to write a simple short story? Or do you want to write a full book? Or a series? Is it directed at children or adults? Men or women? Or is it meant to have broad appeal? Do you want to go full generic or do you want to shake things up? What do you want the main character to be? How about romance, do you want to include romance? There are tons of other shit to ask about too.
You might think writing is easy but even writing something like a short story is difficult and time consuming.
He just wanted something interesting to happen.
I haven't done any writing outside of some writing prompts they make you do in high school years back, so I wanna start small with a short story. I haven't put much thought into the audience or romance. But I do know that I want it to be fun to read and hopefully non-generic as possible. I'm playing around with the idea of a hero with a non-conventional weapon like string manipulation (think Walter from Hellsing) or a summoner which is rare in the story's universe since most summoners are looked down on for being weak fagets who need to summon others to do shit for them. Again, mostly just ideas I've been throwing around, and it took me 2 days to write a simple short story back in high school so I can see how much harder it would be to write a full scale series, or even just one book
Aizen did nothing wrong.
You're biting off more than you can chew.
The thing with short stories is that you're EXTREMELY limited in what you can actually do, which is why good short stories focus on one thing, usually some kind of humor or moral lesson. You're also going to be limited in your characterization, as a you still need to do exposition, describe settings, and develop plot. That is going to really limit the amount of space to make a non-generic protagonist, particularly for high fantasy.
I'd recommend looking around online for guides on writing, and reading some short stories yourself to get an idea of the kinds of things you'll have to learn about.
Of course, if you aren't trying to be an actual writer and just want to write for yourself, you can write whatever you want. You just probably won't make it professionally unless you happen to be a genius writer.
This guy hands down win this thread.
Mods can close this now.
I'm more of a film guy, but short stories are basically like short movies, EVERYTHING unnecesary is cut out.
That's why the guy is right, you're trying way too many different things while being inexperienced.
Try learning more about writing first, take it slow and learn before creating your magnum opus
>doesn't give a fuck about the universe
>just wants to live life the way he likes
What anon quoted only described destroying the existing social concepts and creating a world where the concept of inequality has been forgotten.
That is perfectly applicable to communism, you fucking faggot.
>Force instrumentality on the souls of all humans
>To be with his wife
>His wife used freewill to move her soul
People that don't see the irony and think he's admirable are stupid
More like chaotic neutral.
This dude just had a bad temper.
>wanted to make the colonies independent without resorting to war or the facism every other spacenoid faction
>if he had succesful there would be no crossbone vanguard or Zanscare Empire
Full Frontal did nothing wrong
No motive is terrible, that doesn't even make sense
"I do this because bacon" is perfectly fine
Just because your morality system doesn't match his doesn't mean you're right and he's wrong.
>it's bad because the ants eat humans
Then humans are bad because they eat everything, poison the land with radiation and chemicals, cause hundreds of thousands of species to go extinct, and destroy entire ecosystems
Funny how your morality bullshit breaks down the moment you reach humans
Yes, please do tell me how the initial idea of communism and the way it's been advertised wasn't based around equality through the abolishing of private property. I really am fucking interested in your take on it.
I'm not the guy you replied to.
>Funny how your morality bullshit breaks down the moment you reach humans
That's why Meruem is such a great character. Just like humans, he mostly cares about his species. All he wants to do is create the perfect world for ants, and there's nothing wrong with it at all. He's only a villain because we see him from the human perspective. He's doing the same thing humans do, but he's doing it to humans.
I'm not even a commie but is that still what Amurrican education teaches kids these days?
The basic idea of communism is making the means of production into public domain. Which is completely different from "abolishing private property". Which is still impossible so far, and that's also why none of the countries you Murricans usually refer to as communism were actually communism. They were in fact socialism.
I agreed with his reasoning 100%. Why Akane worked so hard to keep up the status quo I will never understand.
Sheeple. All of them.
I'm from Eastern Europe you faggot.
Nem mintha számítana bármi amit mondok, ti szarládák úgysem fogadjátok el a valós érveket ha valamit egyszer a fejetekbe vesztek.
>The Manifesto explains that the reason the bourgeois exist and exploit the proletariat with low wages is private property
Regardless of the specifics, communism aimed to get rid of the gap between the "haves" and "have-nots" (can't believe this is what they're called in English) would be to make them equal in a sense, through making the means of production and other necessary items shared, thus not being privately owned.
You really can't point to any of Yang's actions as decisively wrong. If he had overthrown Truniht or defied his orders and killed Reinhard, it probably would have led to a better outcome for the FPA in the short run, but in the long run?
I want him to have a happy ending.
Not his fault he was apparently born a psychopath.
It's all his fault for being born a shit he is.
Then he forced his shit on everyone. For 100 years. Holy shit what a gigantic insane faggot.
I hope he is blown into oblivion and never be able to meet his waifu again.
Fun Fact: EVERY MARXIST IDEOLOGIST TOLD LENIN SOVIET RUSSIA WAS A BAD IDEA.
no industrialisation=no unified proletariat=everything goes to hell
I'm not even a communist.
