Hey all you Christm/a/s-goers! Santa Loli back again for another week of collection, trying to get all of you in our Secret S/a/nta yearly event! Not so much to say this week, I hope you're all enjoying October, maybe already carving your pumpkins and such. Or if you live in the states Daylight Savings Time comes soon for some of you! Hopefully it won't affect your anime schedule too much. Well that's just about it. Feel free to discuss all your crafting and gifting needs! I'm sure other anons will help you out if you're having any troubles. It's nice to see little updates, I think it's inspiring. That's all this girl has to say for now, so let's move on to collecting some more emails! I can answer any questions not in the FAQ, but taking a look at previous threads in the archive wouldn't hurt either.
Hey! Who used my picture? I wanted to post it ;_;

Can you ship internationally? :
Are you able/wish to send out X-mas cards (Specify amount)? :
Wishlist (Don’t be afraid to post links like MAL, or say you like a character or series. You can be as specific or as vague as you want here, this is ultimately to help the other /a/non in selecting a gift for you. Please don't just put "Surprise me.") :
[NEW] Card wishlist: This is what will be sent to everyone who gets assigned to send a card to you. Try to keep it relatively short; A favorite character or waifu/husbando, a couple of your favorite shows, etc.
[NEW] Are you willing to send extra gifts to anons who get grinched (do not receive a gift), Y/N?
Woops! I keep forgetting the Wiki link. Sorry friends, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_%28geography%29
>Q: What is Secret S/a/nta?
A chance to give and receive gifts from other /a/nons locally, nationally, or even globally with a bit of X-mas spirit!
>Q: Who is hosting this event?
Your friendly hosts are santafaggot, SantaShota, and SantaLoli. We are the same people who ran it last year.
>Q: Why should I participate? How can I trust anyone?
That’s for you to decide, in the past there have been multiple successful /ss/’s in the past, and all of this is greatly in the spirit of giving. Many /a/nons are hard at work every year on their cards and gifts, and is evidently shown in many of the threads. Be warned that sometimes you may not receive anything at all, and has happened. We try our best to prevent this from happening though. We somewhat urge you to use your real name to a degree; sometimes shipping messes up without it, especially internationally.
Also, sorry for quite a late thread this weekend, we didn't plan on it being like this. But, we try our best to space them out a little so that everyone can get an opportunity to participate or see it.
November 1st will be the cut off date, expect 2 to 3 more threads at most before that date! Assignments should be handed out within a week of that date.
Sounds great anon! Personal handiwork always feels the most heartwarming to anons I'm sure.
It goes around like a circle, your gift goes to someone, and then a different person sends you a gift. We'll be happy to see you participating this year!>>115569655
You can specifically send us an email by replying again to us from our confirmation and such. We can communicate with your s/a/nta to try to make sure everything can come at a greater convenience to you.
Is there an ssjr group this time around? I was part of that last time, and would like to stay loyal to them again if possible this time. If not though I'll gladly partake in the normal ss.
ssjr? I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but there was a separate group hosting a later Secret S/a/nta if that's what you meant, it was generally for everyone who didn't get to sign up on time. We didn't have anything to do with that, we just manage this earlier one, just like last year. You can partake in both if you wish! So that's all I have to say on this.
I don't know the exact calculations at the moment, it's just that 95% received their gifts. Santafaggot should have the data, but I'm sorry I can't exactly answer that. Just pick the bracket that you'd like to participate in is all the advice I can give.
Probably the same 10-25 bracket, but stop getting your panties in a twist over the chance of not getting a gift you autist. If you don't believe in your santa, you deserve a grinch. Be a good boy and have faith.
On that note, friendly reminder: the last day for standard shipping to be guaranteed to make it to your domestic US recipient is the 18th of December IIRC. You need your package in before the last pickup of the day though, so you should shoot for the 17th at the latest.
My main concern is with both getting grinched, and sending something to a grinch
dont want to spend $100 and give it to some faggot from /jp/ who doesnt send shit in the $100 bracket, then not receive anything in return ontop of that
The bottom line is that you can't control whether you get grinched or not, so just roll with the punches and hope for the best. I'm also assuming that previous grinches have been blacklisted anyway by the organizers anyway, so keep that in mind as well.
The hardest part of this is finding a good gift for your Anon and making cards. The second hardest is making a good wishlist so you get something good. At least the first one is fun to do, but somehow making a wishlist for yourself seems like work.
>just a few more weeks until we get our assignments
I hope my /ss/ has good taste or something I'm at least familiar with. Picking out the gifts is the fun part.
>I hope my /ss/ has good taste or something I'm at least familiar with.
You're providing information to help, right? I'm always worried that whoever sees my MAL will think I'm a faggot, but I hand it out anyway.
This! You can go for just cards if you'd like, as long as you do a gift or cards, the other is optional. Though, most people like to do a little of both.
How do you explain the season of giving?
Say that again motherfucker, I dare you.
Ignore him. He's just a being of evil that lives to disrupt providence in this world.
It's okay anon! I'm sure they enjoyed it nonetheless ;_;
Santa is real /a/non!
Yep! At a 1:1 ratio so each card sent is a card sent to you.
Damn! I can't participate this year because I have to finish my thesis, or at least just send a card.
And II was planning on doing some Damascene stuff to send this year... Well there's always valentine's
I love getting cards so I really want to sign up for more than one, but I'm so busy around the holidays I know I'll barely have time to make one as it is. This sucks.
I got a guy last year that listed one series he liked and then said he didn't care for much else. It was still fun working on the card for him and if nothing else he was happy with what I got him. It's not so bad.
You don't always have to send cards /a/non! A nice small anime related trinket is great too, you could buy a few and send those out with a short note attached.
Sorry to hear that! A card would be great too, it's a nice way to celebrate.
>A nice small anime related trinket is great too
That's actually not a bad idea. I'm a little puzzled as to what I would get or from where though. Guess I'll have to think about it.
Why not just find a creative way to call them a faggot? Draw them a pony or something.
You can still write in what shows you like somewhere or drop a link to your MAL or whatever. That's technically not a wishlist at all, right?
>If i see someone with N/A in their wishlist I'm going to draw the edgiest shit i can think of in the card
Really? Because I would draw the lewdest shit ever. Like, the font cover would be a Hallmark semi upper class type card, and the inside would be a very detailed gang rape.
The bitch is forced to hold hands with 10 different guys
Just enter N/A or leave it blank, both are fine. But make sure you put something in the card wishlist anon!
If you're in the UK, you're going to have your door busted down in a few minutes for that.
Just a warning to all normalfags and retards that may be lurking, if you put casual shit as your favorite series I'm going to draw pictures of your waifu getting raped.
If she's not imaginary then she can be raped by an intrepid Anon with Google.
I've always been a fan of the Mexican halfbreed bit. Nothing says "fuck you" like a knocked up waifu.
Whatever I say is shit is shit. I am the law
Just put what you like, man. I'd rather buy you something from your favorite series than one you put just because it'd be easier to find.
A good S/a/nta will watch one or two shows to get a feel for them in that case. A decent S/a/nta will read up on any shows they haven't seen. Only a shitty Santa or normalfag would just guess. It's the internet, pirating and learning shit isn't hard. Besides, what's to say your Santa doesn't have a higher powerlevel than you? Are you looking down on me, asshole?
So I went for the $10 - 25 bracket, now I'm worried I wont be able to find anything nice to gift on that price range.
Would it be wrong to give a second hand nendo if I can get one?
Sorry but have you seen the alexa for 4chan? Summer hit us hard this year thanks to /v/'s faggotry, I actually linked to some 'safe,' amazon stuff just so my possible newfag santa wouldn't get scared by the scary erotic figmas and grinch me.
>Are you looking down on me, asshole?
I'm just assuming you don't have shit taste as I do anon chan~
I put everything I like, but also mixed it some well known shows just to be sure, I'll be happy anyways.
On a side note, we won't be able to respond to many emails tonight. Guaranteed we'll get to them within at most two days, okay guys? Santa is a little busy at the moment, but we'll be sure to read and respond to y'all!
Don't worry, I'm sure it should be okay. You'll find something nice for them I guarantee! A nice heartwarming card wouldn't hurt too if you can't find anything in time.
Let's say PLENTY! It's a very good amount.
>have you seen the alexa for 4chan?
I seem to remember those website statistic gatherers saying we're underaged faggots for years now. Yes it's getting worse, but this is still /a/. If you're posting links anyway there's no need to worry since you already spoonfed a gift and presumably on an English language site at that. you solved your own problem without needing to go normalfag. Posting a MAL (or your Notepad/Excel sheet you elitist prick) including the normalfag shit you watched would also work in a similar manner. It's not that big a thing.
My taste is both the shittiest and the best. I am the alpha and the omega, the omnifan.
I don't think you need to worry about that so long as it hasn't been glued. You DO need to worry about people getting offended because of a secondhand gift, but that'll depend on the person. The trick for you is going to be just gettting creative. Find some sales. You'll be fine.
I'm sorry, didn't read that far yet.
I want to do this, but I'm having a hard time being trusting.
I wish I could participate but being poorer than dirt makes that hard.
Out of curiosity, in past secret santas were most of the gifts, uhh, sufficiently normal and innocent? Too many /g/ crossboarders here for comfort.
This is why I'm afraid to do it. I also don't want to give my address out. Does PO BOXs work? I hear UPS and FedEx don't deliver to them.
I wanted to send someone a Sayaka statue.
Oh, I guess that's fine. What if the package doesn't fit in the box?
You and Hawk are tied for "obnoxious faggots i hate the most" right now
I'll send you a box filled with 1000 prints of Sayaka guro
>How's amazon for figurines, dakis, and wall scrolls?
There are usually better options with smaller likelihood of being Chinese Bootlegs. Just find what you want on MFC, list it, and let your S/a/nta figure out the rest.
The only time I dealt with the post office I got one of my Sayaka statues that apparently couldn't be left at my house. I try to avoid the post office as much as possible. People are usually so mean there.
I just want to be friends, you know?
Damn. I'm currently NEET status and would like to send an anon a nice gift without purchasing in yen. Cards are great, but I suck dick at drawing so it'd end up looking like stick figures of their waifus with realistic dicks.
I'm assuming he meant either /h/ or /d/
Everyone who's first name is Kevin, sorry, but you're getting grinched. Wouldn't want to accidentally reward a crossboarding tripshit for attention whoring.
That's really not right.
>Cards are great, but I suck dick at drawing so it'd end up looking like stick figures of their waifus with realistic dicks.
Even shitty cards are heartwarming. I made my giftee a Yukkuri card for V/a/lentines and she still loved it. It's more about the heart than anything, even if amazing art does help.
>People are usually so mean there.
You probably earn it. Be sure to read about the ID documents required to get the box too, they're kind of annoying.
There is sometimes a small charge for the conversion. It shouldn't really be that significant, just another drop in the bucket if you're already buying a gift and shipping it.
So do you match people up into pairs, or just randomize it? For example, if people A, B, and C are all part of it, would A and B exchange gifts, or could A give B a gift, and B give C a gift?
Alright, I'll lurk some of the buyfag threads. I liked the christmas day threads from last year.
Also, I've never shipped internationally. Are the rates hella high? I don't mind shipping to out of the US, but I'd rather buy something more expensive if the shipping is going to be more than the 10-25$ range.
I'm white. It'll only make me stronger.
>You probably earn it.
No, I'm very polite in real life. They just hate their jobs and I don't really blame them.
I got so much ID that it's not even funny. I have at least 3 forms of legal ID that I carry on me at all times. I still need to get a passport.
Man, you're killing me. I'll be gone soon, okay? The way you asked it too nice for me and I feel bad continuing.
I hope you don't do it anonymously because I'm actually intrigued at the thought of what the worst possible gift an /a/non could manage to send to someone
unless it's something actually bio-hazardous, that's a lot less funny.
have a pick of it still?
This was your choice, and it was entirely avoidable. This is the third thread, and I hadn't seen you once. You couldn't take the trip off for one fucking thread, and now you've ruined christmas.
>Also, I've never shipped internationally. Are the rates hella high?
Yes. I went from CA to Canada and dropped about $25.
Who did what last year now? It's been a long year, all I remember is someone ripping up a card.
What if they didn't hate me and they weren't an edgy fuck? They might actually send me something JUSTICE related or a cute card saying they love me.
I did the same thing last year, but I didn't put in for fear of people coming to my house.
May I ask you what board? Also I remember one of the santas telling it was a hell of a job.
Did he dox people because of the SS or just because he was upset?
Nice try BlondeDude, I'm going to wait until someone posts a card they got from BlondeDude and ask them for the return address and confirm if I got you. If I did, you get a box of shit.
Drop shipping is kind of a dick move though. Where's the wrapping? Where's the cute drawing of a dragon dildo? It's certainly effective, but it lacks a certain charm, even if you send those things separately.
You know you can get arrested for that, right?
A lot of people post their recipients' initials and states so they know to expect cards. He posted his recipients' first names and states. One of the guys got pissed off because his name is uncommon.
He threw a tantrum because one of the cards he received hurt his feelings (tore the card up) and then he ended up getting grinched anyway.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF TAKING OFF THE TRIP IF YOU'RE STILL GOING TO AVATARFAG?
I REALLY hope I get you.
Whatever he posted I remember allowed the person to be found just by googling it. He's a fucking whiny dickhead.
Guys, calm down a little, we're here to spread Christmas CHEER not Christmas FEAR!
Well, I don't know how well it would go across on other boards. I think /toy/ does something. We've been doing it for a while already here. What we do is we full loop it to where it goes A to B to C to D until it closes the loop.
That's why I'm going to use a fake name. Why would I use my real name and real address?
Because I like posting cute Sayaka pictures for everyone?
These threads have been around for more years than you have, filthy newfags. They are a /a/ bloodied tampon holiday tradition. That makes them more related to /a/ than you. It is time for you to leave.
Sadly I'll probably do that if I get someone from USA. There is no way I could afford two international shippings, let alone two fast ones to make it in time for Christmas. I'm planing to send a nice card at the same time.
I don't want to get grinched like last year, but I do kind of want to join. It's a really hard choice
Oh, I see. Wish you the best of luck then!
I would probably send you a nice card if I get you, but that's because I don't care about that stuff.
Your card better be cute as fuck
first week of november
hope you guys have some good success, probably a lot of hand made stuff
fear spreads cheer after christmas though, I distinctly remember during a /k/ christmas exchange someone got a red double ended dildo with scope rings.
it's all in good fun
unless someone sends someone plastic wrapped sponge soaked in blood
second times a charm anon
What's the point of Christmas? All you get is things you don't want and all you give are things others wouldn't want. If you had wanted it, you'd have gotten it yourself. Nothing lasts long when it's just given to you. How many of you are just going to put the present in your closet somewhere and forget about it like your other presents? Gifts sound fun at first, but all they really give is nothing but despair in the end.
I would probably go straight to the Postal Police.
Unless it was from a qt girl's tampon.
>Received something I wanted
>Gave something my recipient wanted
>Look at most of my gifts every day
>they're still around and in good shape
Grinch pls go, this is a happy thread for happy people except for Blondude and Kevin.
>How many of you are just going to put the present in your closet somewhere and forget about it like your other presents?
I still have my gift on display, the only thing I can't display are the cards because they are seasonal, but soon, it will be Winter.
Because you're an autistic edgelord that doesn't understand the feeling of joy someone gets when they receive a gift from another person. It was something that someone took the time and energy to think of and decide to send you. It's not so meaningless as just an object! There are feeling embodied into that object and that's what the important thing is.
That's the point of it, to get something you wouldn't buy yourself and each time you see it you know somewhere anon took time and effort to choose it and get it for you. That's also the reason of why so many anons signed up for sending a bunch of cards.
>there is no way I can't afford their price range.
There is a zero dollar price range, Anon. As a uni student you must have access to a freaking printer and maybe two dollars for a stamp and envelope.
Christmas spirit and surprise. It's more of an emotional decision than economical. Lots of people do end up spending outside of their brackets though.
>What the hell are we starting Christmas for?
Go to retail store, Anon. It's Christmas. Also, these things take time to plan, organize, consider and ship. Too much time is better than too little.
You're being delusional. Getting something from some stranger as a random gift is no different than getting it from a store clerk. I would think that buying would feel better because then there would be no one really to blame if it turns out to be crummy.
I have been doing well. My family couldn't visit because of a flat tire meaning I could do nothing all day, although this nice day would have been great if you were here lovelove <3 <3
Fine, whatever. Get the fuck out if you're not interested in participating, you're clearly too autistic for this if you can't comprehend why purple would feel good doing this.
I think it's cute. Like what you would see in an old JRPG.
I'm sorry to hear that. Where are you that it's hard for your family to do that? I could see my Mother doing that to me, but not my Father. He'd get that stuff fixed and wouldn't let it deter him. Then again it's amazing the stuff he'll do for me that I never realized when I was younger. Life is strange that way.
>suck at drawing
>not much money
>tfw you just want to make an anon happy, but are too afraid too because of your shit drawing or gift
Maybe one day I'll have enough money to reall participate hope everything goes well for you guys sending and receiving things
I did sign up for this one, a gift and a bunch of cards too! I meant for the /k/ one. It's written with a /k/ in the middle.
You are overreacting anon, let's keep going please.
I've got Christmas decorations hanging from the ceiling in mine. I've been told Sears is doing the same. Yes, they straight up skipped Halloween AND Thanksgiving and jumped to Christmas. Thank god there's no music playing yet.
Oh. Right. Send someone a box of .22, I'm sure they'll love it. What are the brackets over there though?
Not offense but that excuse is posted like ten times per thread.
No one cares about you sucking at drawing, and doing/sending a card is cheap as fucks too, if you really want to do something man the fuck up.
>a box of .22
You better be kidding, I'll better be sending sold gold .45s
About the brackets, sincerely I don't remember, but I didn't sign up because of it.
Not him but what the heck are you mad about?
Don't be sorry, today was good! I don't get along very well with my father and having a day to do basically nothing for once was relaxing. It has been great talking to you again but I don't like to disrupt threads that actually deserve to exist, so I'll talk to you later anon-kun lovelove <3<3
>Where the hell do you live, the North Pole?
California, so I think that puts me closer to hell. On that note, did everywhere else start Black Friday on Thanksgiving night, or was it just us?
>No one cares about you sucking at drawing, and doing/sending a card is cheap as fucks too
I don't want to do a card because I don't want to just go buy one because that's shit. I want to make something special, but I suck shit at that kind of stuff.
It's not just random. They aren't going to a dart board and throwing a dart to see what they get you. They are looking at a vague list you made and then deciding what you would like based off the hints you gave them and their ideas on what a fellow /a/non would find amusing. There is thought and human emotion infused with that gift. A store clerk doesn't give two shits about you and you're the one choosing, not the store clerk.
Even if it turns out to be crummy, it's still a gift. For example, this stupid Sumo. I hated this thing when my Mom got it for me all those years ago. It was just a random present I got for Christmas that I was repulsed by. I think I was in Middle School and I thought it was ugly as sin. Yet, I still have it. It's still here with me. It's moved around to 4 different homes and I've kept track it far better than most other things I've purchased for myself. Even when a friend was about to destroy it, I saved it.
It's just different. Someone thought of me when they bought this and that adds a whole new value on it even though it's a shitty thing.
not him but fuck you everyone loves 22lr
especially now where getting 22 means 10+ cents a round if you're not lucky
shit that's right i have a ton of 22lr i could give away but that's more of a /k/ thing
How about fuck you and fuck Christmas and fuck this not anime shit then? Most of you are a bunch of cocksuckers that will probably just send me a card shitting on my waifu and stale cookies with no sugar. So fuck you.
>afraid of sounding too demanding or restrictive in my wishlist
>afraid that if I mention something specifically it'll just be entirely it and ruin the surprise
Yeah that's what I meant. Heck .22 it's damn hard to find right now.
Now that you mention it, it would make an awesome Christmas present.
>It's completely psychological.
Of course it's fucking psychological, autismo.
We're fucking humans. We have attachments to items. We have emotions. We value things over other things because of our memories. Humans do this all the time to inanimate objects. It's why people like a desk more if they made it then if they bought it.
We're fucking human. Obviously autistic people don't understand this concept.
I can't draw for shit, and I haven't tried in over half a decade. But I'll trace or make a collage or something. It really doesn't take long.
This isn't /jp/
Some of us do work or study.
Besides, anon said he doesn't 'have the time', so I was wrong anyway.
Weirdly enough, that kind of post are very recurrent. Like "I want to send cards but I don't have money/can draw".
This is gonna sound rude, but I think it's better to agree with them into not singing up instead of trying to forcing them to, they are mostly the reason of why anons get wrinched / receive shitty cards, not because money but because they don't put effort on in and don't take it seriously.
I don't know if you remember me, I sent you the popura figures and the daki cover. I never got to fully send you the rest of your gift due to financial issues and my house getting broken into. Spoiler, it was suppose to be the finisher, the daki pillow. I feel terrible, and honestly I don't want to enter in this year since I never got to fully take responsibility of my obligations as your respective secret santa. If you can get this message, let me know if you got one on your own. If not, let me at least return the favor and get you the pillow since I'm about a year off. That or some other respective item. Regardless, my spirit is with you.
I was able to get you that CD you wanted last year and I'm glad you were able to get what you wanted. I still owe you a gratitude gift, although like the post above, It's been a rough year. It's hard to find Saya no Uta merch without it being fake, and/or exceeding $150+ because of rarity. I'll send you something regardless for the spirit.
I never did send out my xmas cards, so I'll be doing them now.I'm mainly admitting this now to get it out of the way and spread my dues.
That and I got jewed out of Valentines day, but then I wasn't able to send my gift either. (So I'll be handling that out this year for Xmas.)
Losing your job is suffering.
Christmas Kanon, out.
Shut the fuck up. You're the last person here who should be calling others autistic when you need to create a username on an anonymous site to validate your worthless existence.
If you can't draw, buy something.
>"b-but i'm poor
Look, guys, I've been on welfare my whole life and I make sure I buy a figure for an anon every year. Just manage your fucking money better.
Nice comeback. Sounds real adult.
>Look, guys, I've been on welfare my whole life and I make sure I buy a figure for an anon every year. Just manage your fucking money better.
Oh look. Now I don't need to buy an Anon anything because my tax dollars are going to Japanese figures instead of helping people who really need it.
>It's why people like a desk more if they made it then if they bought it.
That's very different from getting something from someone else. Making something by hand takes time and energy, and that turns into memories that stay with that object. But buying and getting gifts are really no different from one another. All you're doing here is telling someone else to buy something for you. It doesn't matter if it's from a big list that you thought up because in the end, you effectively just told that person to buy that thing for you. It would have been nicer if you just went and bought it yourself instead of being a lazy cunt making other people buy things for you.
No, you're giving them a list of items you would like. Not too many people are writing on their lists:
Buy me a Puella Magi Madoka Magica SQ Figure Miki Sayaka from Amazon.
They are just giving ideas and the Anons decide what they want to give. It's not really that hard to understand. Someone is taking the time to get you something and/or make you something.
You're the type to throw away something a family member gave you because you couldn't use it despite them thinking you'd love it.
>trip comes off
trip comes on
How the fuck can one person be such a concentration of cancer? You avatarfag for no reason when you have the trip OFF, and then you put it back on randomly and do the same thing. Go try to derail some other thread, you faggot.
You are literally defending a person who hates the entire idea of this and Christmas because the person arguing with him is a tripfag. Your blind hate is wonderful.
>Implying you can't get a part time job year round.
>autistic people don't obsess over items
Well Kevin, do I have some news for you
please stop being so feisty you're ruining christmas
There's no real point in going out of the list, though. You told them you wanted that, right? So something outside that list would just be a disappointment in comparison because you expected to get what you wanted but you got something different instead. In all honesty, you'd probably be better off just buying it anyway since you'll know for a fact that you'll be getting what you want.
Yes, yes. I meant something about feelings and stuff. Not being autistic because the item is an autism magnets. You know, like magnets.
I see it now too. I don't want that figure anymore.
So why did you interject yourself into it?
And then say,
>Shut the fuck up. You're the last person here who should be calling others autistic when you need to create a username on an anonymous site to validate your worthless existence.
Yeah, that's not it at all. Blind hate, man.
Jesus Christ anon. If I sign up for the $20 bracket, and go to the flea market and buy something for $20, that's normally worth $50, it still works for the bracket.
Who gives a shit about retail or secondary. Look at your receipt, is the amount you spent within the bracket?
And you better not fucking send something you got lying around you fucking jew.
As long as they don't send me something biohazardous, I don't care. As long as it's something filled with love for a fellow /a/non, what does it matter? I could buy anything I want. However, I'd like to see what an Anon would get/write for me and I'm sure they're interested in what I would do in return.
It's not just about the item.
Been saving from my part-time job for my secret anons. Planing to spend ~$12 on each card and about $60 on the gift, that for 5 cards and a [10-25] gift.
It actually feels nice saving money when you know what it will be for.
Kevin, I'm saying regardless of the context, you have no right to call anyone else autistic or retarded when you've deluded yourself into thinking ANYTHING you say holds any weight and that you need to let people know that you're better than the average anon.
I would hope you gift someone actually interested in gundam or plamo a PG. But yes, I wouldn't recommend it but even a beginner can do a PG if they have the patience, they don't need any paint or even lining to make it look good out of the box.
Doing a little of both is best if you can swing it. Something they asked for and something totally unexpected. My Santa last year got me several cheaper items I asked for and a Nendo I never would've thought to ask for that I ended up loving. It's that extra mile.
I don't thing gundam kits are difficult to build, now if you plan to send one of those scale model kits that needs painting, well that depends of you anon.
Do you really think that's why I have a trip? Do you really think that little of people that you honestly think that's all a tripfag does when they decide to take a trip?
You might have a case if this was a Madoka thread or something I would call myself an expert in, but it's not. It's just an internet imageboard in which you're all allowed to make your own opinion and then post it with whatever qt anime girl you like.
There's no trolling or expectation that you'll see my trip and suddenly bow to my infinite wisdom. Stop thinking so low of other people.
>you're giving them a list of items you would like.
Anons do this? I though the idea was to put what shows you liked, maybe your waifu if you have one and that's it. I feel it kinda lose the magic otherwise.
You're getting something from a stranger. In the most likely case, they're just doing it because everyone else in this thread is doing it. There's no real love in it. They're just flowing with the crowd, buying something based off of a list of items to a faceless person. It's like as if Amazon gave you a present based off your recommended items. They're aren't going to care past Christmas that they gave something to a stranger.
You're misunderstanding me. There's no reason for you to have a trip at all, much less so in this thread, because nobody cares who you are. All you bring is derailment when you avatarfag almost every fucking post and leave your goddamn trip on.
That's what I meant. I didn't mean it to come out differently.
>Going with the flow.
Going with the flow is me watching this thread and then going to another thread because interacting with people from an Imageboard is weird.
More than likely, the people who are doing it are doing so because they want to feel like they have tomodachis. These people aren't strangers. These are people that you spend years of your life with. I've spent over 3 years of my life with these people. How can I say they are strangers and not my friends?
I have a well known waifu with one hard ot find statue, and little merchandise anymore.
Still put her on my wishlist, but doubt I will get anything for her. Love Live merch is the next thing on my wishlist, and there is plenty of that
It only gets derailed when someone decides to use blind hatred instead of keeping on topic. I didn't come here and start shitposting about random shit nor did I come here to troll the fuck out of people.
You may not see a reason to have a trip, but I do. It's something that I could try and explain, but you'd never understand. I'm sorry for that and I'm sorry for our differences.
I've been here for longer, but Kevin-kun is only 3 years old. !!jXa1xyIyNUh is older than that, but I'm not sure how old. I've been on 4chan for a long, long time, but it's only been the last 3 years where I've had a trip.
>list 3 favorite shows
>point out favorite character from each
>afraid anon will think I have a harem
Please don't mistake people who have multiple favorite characters as having a harem, I know some anons hate that, but they are just misunderstandings.
>you may not see the reason of a trip, but i do
>only i'm intelligent enough to be bestowed with the honor that is a trip
Yeah, no. I can explain it for you real simple. You're a fucking delusional attention whore who needs to feel special because anonymity isn't good enough for you.
It's not really damage control. It's honesty. If you went to the archive, you can see where Kevin-kun started so I can't really lie and say that Kevin-kun has been here for 9 years or so. You'd call bullshit and people would autism out.
How much info do I have to put as a sender when shipping internationally? Anyone knows?
Unless you worded it very wrong I don't think anyone would mind.
would depend on the person you're sending it to, some people enjoy the finicky bits, others would say 'neat' and then somehow lose it under their bed and possibly regift it if they found it by next christmas, which isn't the worst thing in the world but you should still consider the person you're buying it for as well, a lot of us aren't really into mecha.
that picture is adorable
>not loving faceless strangers
I dont have any appropriate pages on hand but you get the idea
pretty much anything that's past a few years and wasn't insanely popular can be hard to find for, if someone manages to get something obscure there is a good chance it's either home made or second hand.
this could be his first day and hes technically still able to be telling the truth
jesus christ kevin stop nobody gives a shit
>only i'm intelligent enough to be bestowed with the honor that is a trip
You took it into an entirely different direction than anything I said. It's not a matter of intelligence, but a matter of opinion. Our opinions obviously clash, right? You wouldn't believe me if I explained the reasons why I keep tripping and you wouldn't accept them. It doesn't make me any better than you. We just have different ideologies.
No, I'm not Hawk. Hawk is someone from Berserk threads, right? I still haven't read Berserk. The only thing I know about it is that this girl is a qt before she cuts her hair after almost getting raped by a demon horse.
>all this tripfaggotry
>all this circlejerking
>all this begging
>all this shitposting
There goes Christmas.
>it's not damage control
>but make sure you read through all my posts to see what a cool guy I am
You're a fucking rectal polyp in /a/ and /r9k/'s assholes, no one fucking cares about you. Just shut the fuck up and either leave the trip on, or take it off, not this every other post bullshit.
I feel like most wouldn't want a gunpla kit cause they tend to be a hassle to make. I gifted a
Valvrave 1 Innocent Modeland I feel like my giftee didn't like it and just said he did to make me feel better. I also messed up on his gift last year so I will be sending him some reparation gifts;
>give a gift to an anon
>never see their smiling face
>never hear how much their enjoying the present
>they probably threw it away as soon as they opened it and just sent me a not to make me feel better
The most suffering time of year has finally come.
Oh I know how fun it is, I love making the more complicated versions, but too some it may be too daunting. The thing about my previous assignment was that he wrote "I like Valvrave and am ok with anything". Too much leeway there for me, I was about to send him a plaster of my
hand so he can hold it at night.
Don't worry I'm sure he is happy with his Valvrave gunpla.
>all these people complaining about tripfaggotry
You are part of the problem. Just ignore or filter them if they bother you so much. This is not the right thread to shitpost in.
Now let's stop posting about it and get back on topic.
Sorry for the late reply, I dozed off just a little, but I'll try to get back to you all on this. Let's try to be a bit more civil, I don't want to argue when I want everyone to be happy. Making everyone happy is why we do events like this! I don't express any opinions, but I will give advice to ignore things you don't like, do it for me please! ;_;
We'll try to help match you up with someone who could want it.
Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun for you anon!
Just specify it, we'll try to make it happen!
Yeah I have my own OC, I'm really thankful to whoever drew it, I could always use more! The other two don't have any yet sadly.
All you have to do is specify you'll do it, and you can exclude some areas or limit it to certain countries if you need to.
it's probably a good idea to do it incase it gets stuck at the border for some reason and gets returned to sender
if someone has no reason to send you something in the mail they wont make use of your address.
only possible thing I guess could be signing you up for free catalogue subscriptions or something minor, but that's what recycling bins are for
We won't be checking any more emails for the night, but even if you didn't get a response, we still got it as I said earlier! So don't sweat it! We like to go through them and sort it as a group effort, but sadly it's only me right now to manage all this. Feel free to continue asking any questions though!
I like using exclamation points.
Well we'll need your name and address that's for sure. Contact info isn't necessarily just check your email for when you get a reply. Sending internationally is like sending within your area, it just needs a few extra stickers on it, and a specification on the country it's being sent to. Be warned that it might take a little longer, so you'll possibly want to send it early. A return address might be a good idea in case it gets lost somehow, but I for one am not too sure how packages make their way around.
I'd show you my smiling face anon! But I don't think you'd want to see me.
I always wanted to participate in this but every year I shy away.
Unboxing threads were great, though.
Hey, Santaloli. Long time no talk. I made a post earlier. >>115578859
I was wondering if it'd still be okay to enter again this year. I'm already at the point where I understand my limits, so I don't plan to do much but just for one person this year.
Hope things have been good on your end.
yes, you should have joined sooner fag.
I miss Sandy, love Loli and the crew though. Blue nii-san where?
Don't beat yourself up to much man, sometimes stuff happens and we can't control it.
Santa Loli will be leaving soon, she needs to sleep in order to wake up in order to do some things. But I'll still be here a little longer.
Hmmm, drop us an email, and I'm sure we can work it out. We'll all try our best to get everything settled. I think it's likely we will want some sort of confirmation shown, but it's a lot to talk about, so like I said, emails are good! We can help with possibly securing addresses for those that weren't able to receive things, personally it warms my hear that you're trying to still make it happen.
Yeah, that's quite long ago now for Sandy, 3 years is it? Well at least we got some info from him last year, so he's not dead that's for sure! And thanks, I love you too anon. Also, Blue is probably not here because of the timing of the thread, along with scarfanon.
Sign-up deadline is November 1st. You can sign-up and cancel before that date if it all comes down to it. If you have to really push it past that, we'll still be able to re-route everything to make it work, though it's preferable that you know you're SURE that you can participate by that time. You can always opt for cards though anon! Or a small gift in the low bracket at most.
Also, it's partially our fault for always forgetting to throw in the deadline date in the FAQ, it slips by us all the time. I'm going to update it in time for next thread, don't worry guys. It'll have a few more details concerning gifting, dates, etc.
Also, I want to say you can change brackets too, but let us know A S A P as to not make too much confusion and trouble for us Santas!
I'm way too much excited for this.
Last year I got my gift but not my cards (I was supposed to get two of them), I was happy and sad at the same time.
Thanks anon! I know the thread may have had a bit of madness here and there, but we still try to make it as best as we can. Santa says the show must go on!
Ah yes! We did that last year, thanks for the reminder, it really helps us out.
This year should be better! Just always keep looking up.
I think we've hit bump limit? I'm not 100% on what it is anymore, but I think I can call this officially the end of the thread. If you have any questions, emails are entirely welcome, as well as encouraged. Have a good night everyone! Christmas is just around the corner, I swear.
Maybe that's Halloween but nothing is stopping you from dressing up as Santa, is it?
I'll prep up an email. The tracking codes, I have no idea if they still work. But looking back at the archive and contacting previous giftees will be easy since we should still have information from last year. (I assume.)
I want to make it happen because I wasn't able to complete my vision last year. I feel guilty because I wasn't able to give everyone christmas cheer. Technically I did, but I wasn't able to fully deliver the full promise I had in mind.
DDfrom OH SS(Sio)from IN JDfrom PA
Yeah, thanks for reminding me.
Would I be allowed to grinch in any of these scenarios?
My assignment lists only non-weeb /v/ shit, or /co/ shit, or normal clothing, or anything not /a/.
My assignments links to MAL, and their profile says they're underage.
My assignment has a Facebook profile, and they're clearly underage.
My assignment types like a cancerous fuck from lebbit, with emoticons, and excessive exclamation marks, or "ayy lmao"; basically anything that would be unacceptable on /a/.
Or would I just request that they get removed?
I'm not too sure if I want to join, what with a lack of decent shops in Liverpool, and ordering something being out of the question because my landlady visits at random, early in the morning to work on the parto upstairs.
If I did join, I'd buy you something good, anon.
No, it's important. I spent over £200 on last years assignment, and they were a lovely respectable person.
The thought never crossed my mind that little shitbag kids would be involved last year. I didn't really get involved in the threads.
But yes, asking for reassignment seems reasonable. Thanks.
Doesn't just seem reasonable, seems like the only actual proper response.
Grinching is horrible regardless of who's being affected. There's being an /a/non, and there's being a cunt. A line should be drawn.
Troll gifts are another option. Just saying.
If they enter this knowing full well that they shouldn't, then fuck them.
As long as you spend the correct amount of money of course.
I think that's naive, I got grinched at 75-100$ too. It becomes a lot more worth to not send anything the more money you spend.
Thanks but no gift you can give me can heal the wounds of the past.
Are you not allowed to receive packages?
You can also make a nice local package of stuff that's native or unique to Liverpool, I'm sure you have beer or something? Throw in a local card and a self-made card and you have a fine present.
I've only been here a month. You can walk from one side of the city to the other in less than half an hour. As far as I can tell, Liverpool isn't known for having spectacular local produce, it's known for having an abundance of Irish folk. I don't drink, either, so I don't know what beer would be appropriate for anon.
I could probably receive packages, but my landlady would be extremely curious as to what was in them.
Well, then just don't send lewd stuff? There is usually cute stuff of most things In the worst case you can frame a cute picture of whatever your person likes.
Now, I don't know much about Liverpool either, but just check out the wikipedia article. You can find out all kinds of interesting things like
>Liverpool has a large lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender/transsexual population, as well as the UK's only official 'gay quarter'. Despite cities such as Manchester and Brighton being historically more noted for their LGBT communities, Liverpool now has an LGBT comparable per capita to that of San Francisco.
Get a little creative and take an interest in the city. Put in some effort!
>no /a/ content
report to santa so they get blacklisted
report to santa so they get blacklisted
ask /a/ for second opinion, then report to santa if /a/ agrees
Two of my card assignments last year were /v/irgins so I sent them shitty meme cards.
I didn't plan on sending lewd things, but on reflection, I could probably sneak animu goods past her.
>interest in the city.
I wandered around the city everyday for three weeks back when I didn't have internet. I've found nothing that I'd feel good about sending to anon. I'd have to make something.
That's interesting, but it's not my thing.
Not really sure about participating this year. I have a bad habit of overspending on my gift and last year I got grinched with cards (sent five, got none). Year before that I got a really subpar gift. At least my anons were happy with their gifts.
Also no idea what to wish for.
this is my first year, I hope to get some nice gifts, although I better not get my hopes too high though! you never know.
in my case, I'll be making illustrations with all my heart for everyone, (pic related) hopefully, I can bring some warm smiles to those who get them.
Don't forget you can also send cookies and stuff like that
wow you are really good at drawing. I'll have to resort to tracing.
good Idea, I know how to bake some mean cookies.
There isn't a right way to do things anon, so tracing isn't a bad option. actually, illustrators use tracing paper often to make different drafts for review.
don't loose hope! I bet there are things you can do that I am not really good at. I only spent most of my life drawing. but! I am sure that if you put your best effort, you can get better for sure. it all depends how much you want to put into it.
if I do get grinched then I wont be disappointed, because I know I did my job and I wasn't expecting anything amazing. it will be a learning experience.
its only a sketch so yes, it is finished. this was meant for the weekend waifu thread this week, but I am afraid I finished it too late so the anon I meant to show it to will have to wait til next weekend.
my plan is to attend every weekend to draw waifus and husbandos for everyone there in exchange for tips or steam codes.
uhm... here is a tip I hope it helps.
whenever I draw I tend to visualize what I am trying to draw in my head before actually attempting to do anything. (I actually did 3 drafts before getting to the version you saw in my previous post.)
the reason why it takes people time to learn how to draw properly is mainly because you have to build an archive of simplified shapes in your mind.
you have to learn how to translate complex visual information in a way that makes it easier for your brain to understand better. you have to break it down, and memorize it. so when you draw it you think about what you are doing instead of hoping for a miracle.
so, for instance, whenever I see my hand, I don't see a hand, I see a rectangle with longer rectangles connected by circles.
also, whenever I see breasts I try to either fondle my own (...I am a guy.) or I try to imagine the consistency and look of a balloon full of water. being observant is a very important skill if you want to learn how to draw better. draw from life. its no lie it helps and it makes a world of difference. and if you think thats boring then good luck.
whatever works for you really, like I said before there is no right or wrong way of doing things, if you aren't getting better at it is probably because you need to find a more suitable method of drawing things.
this not only applies to drawing, this applies to anything really. find something you are good at and be proud of it.
Thanks for the tips.
I've had countless talks with other artists and a lot of them have said about the same thing about learning and what not. I love drawing, I'm just bad at it in general. Part of it is not that it's boring, I just cannot really do it long term because of how fucked my hand starts to act. Even my normal handwriting starts off nice and just eventually looks like shit.
The only thing I'm good at is vidya games.
Will it teach my hands to not shit out after 15 minutes of use?
That was primarily my biggest issue.
Well that and not having the time to invest time to learn it because I had a full time job. NEET mode now though.
not a bad idea, i should send some drawings too. hope you don't get grinched, otherwise ill need to up my christmas shopping just for the unfortunate ones.
Are there going to be /ss/ meetups like previous years? I can't wait to spill spaghetti again.
I got a few extra hours of work in this week, I'll probably put it aside for /ss/ stuff. Last year I went on a trip to NYC and found a really good gift for my anon, I'm not sure if I should go again this year but it's still early to think about.
A Nendo is a nice gift. If it's in good condition then anyone should be happy to receive it as a /ss/ present. Anyone who complains about a gift is an ungrateful faggot anyhow.
No problem, your drawing was very cute.
She's a LN character, the series only has a manga adaptation of LN volume 1. Only art I found were the LN illustrations.
The LN is slowly getting translated though so it's not too bad.
I went into their Book-Off and they had an artbook by an artist who was really well-known in what my Santa was asking for so I bought it for them. I had also sent them a figure from Mandarake but I wasn't really thinking about getting an artbook online because of the shipping prices (which admittedly aren't bad with Amazon Jp anymore since they changed to flat-rate)
If this has been asked before or is common knowledge I apologize, but is it acceptable to enter yourself in multiple price ranges? Like exchange one $200 gift and two $25 gifts with three separate Anons, for example.
Wow, Anon, you're crazy talented. I would be overjoyed to get a card from you. I'm a first-timer too, so I'm a little nervous but hoping warmly for the best for all the /ss/ participants. All the best with your cardmaking!
And I really hope we get matched, because I'd love to see Akashi in your style.
This. I love picking out presents for people. The knowledge that your gift brought a smile to someone's face - especially someone you'll never meet and likely never will - is wonderful.
I don't know. I only use facebook as another means to contact friends if I can't reach them otherwise. The other stuff is just things I stupidly signed up for using my name years ago. I guess it really doesn't matter. Just annoying realizing that I have all this shit attached to my name.
