Agreed, localized releases are less interesting, have less content, and even have lower video/audio quality often, especially for DVD since they cut costs by packing more episodes per disc and one time. The first and last localized release DVD I bought had compressed Japanese audio in order to fit higher bitrate English audio, and had absolutely disgusting compression.

The only reason I'd buy a localized release is if it had subtitles and somehow was never uploaded anywhere, which I've yet to see.
