It's overhyped but not bad.
I'm more into happy-family-of-bishoujos like Strike Witches than angry-bullying-bishoujos like Freezing, but it's hasn't lost me yet. Will see how it goes.
I tried listening to her UN speech because of your post.
She claims there is no one country in the world where women get paid the same amount as men, are respected, and can choose what happens to their body.
But this is insane. In the 1st world, If a man and a women both have the same job they will be paid the same. Women aren't disrespected because of their gender. Women can choose to take a pill which prevents them from getting knocked up.
Some of the things she says are reasonable, but she seems poorly informed about reality. As expected from someone who has been rich since childhood (Just like Ange!).
I hope she goes back to her trashcan to retrieve the pudding only to find it's no longer there.
Next lunchtime, in an effort to repay Koko, she discovers the delicious pleasure of pudding.
I wanted something like her being restrained by red and her gang as red proceeds to cut her hair off as she cries complete with a flashback of her days as a child back when her mother was around to caress her hair everynight before going to sleep. She then goes back to her room and proceeds to stuff herself with the pudding in the trashcan and cry some more.
I'm expecting it to be her own choice.
She seems to be a good person; it's just that her denial and Norma-aren't-human mindset are in the way.
Now that I think of it, she saw with her own eyes that Norma actually have blood running through them (and even have feelings).
If she's not crying about Koko in ep 3, this bitch needs more bullying.
Don't you ever get tired? Please go IRC.
Or real SJW or whoever you are. No one is going to be swayed to your cause. No one takes this show seriously, it's just entertainment, and if you don't like it you should just watch something else.
If you are just IRCfags, then congrats, you have rustled at least one pair of jimmies. Fuck this is annoying. You people are ruining the threads for this show to the extent that it's impossible to discuss it, and some of us who aren't offended at every little thing actually find it entertaining.
FOR FUCK'S SAKE, CHILDREN. ENOUGH
WE COULD HAVE HAD A GOOD THREAD. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN FUN LIKE THE VALVRAVE DAYS, BUT YOU FUCKERS AND ALL YOUR CARE HAVE TURNED IT TO SHIT.
REAL LIFE POLITICS AND OTHER 3D WORLD BULLSHIT IS FOR OTHER BOARDS. FUCK OFF
That's not even the problem.
The real problem is the "hurr durr it's shitty it's a trainwreck" people. If it's so bad why would you expect anyone to care about the quality of the thread if you think it's so bad? Hell, if it's so bad then why are you watching it?
Didn't you see that one movie about the 14 year old girl that was raped by another woman? Some feminist later described it as a "good rape".
Rape is only okay when women do it to other women and men aren't involved. Any presence of masculinity is rape.
Cross Ange rape isn't rape because they all enjoy it, but are just too stubborn to surrender themselves to the pleasure of an alpha female forcing that pleasure on to them.
There's nothing you can do about shitposters except endure/ignore them and keep talking about the show. The worst thing that you can let happen is let what the shitposters are talking about become the thread's main topic.
I speak from experience in the threads I've made that will remain unnamed for obvious reasons.
Look : I was just want to see a girl have romantic and consensual sex with a Dragon
Will Cross Agne deliver?
No it fucking didn't.
Shirou did not fuck the dragon or get fucked by the dragon.
Shirou's not even a girl.
So who unleashes the Dragons?
Seriously, where do the dragons even come from?
Knowing Fukada and how he's painting the Humans and Norma as fucking Blue Cosmos tier assholes, magic is probably fucking over the Dragon's dimension somehow and Agne is going to have a realization that magic is actually evil.
I am still betting that the Dragons ascend upon their world because humanity has gathered and or are using too much mana.
And that Norma, instead of being the devolution of humanity, are actually the natural step in evolution to survive in that era of heightened mana.
Or something along those lines.
Anon, you've got it all wrong
They're not Dragons. They're DRAGONs.
The prince probably. But really. Out of the characters presented there hasn't really been any mary sues.
Unless you would like to make a highly convoluted argument claiming that Angelise is one.
Sorry, there are no dragons in Cross Ange. Only DRAGONs.
This show is most definitely a trainwreck. It's not 100% an explosive train wreck like Mahouka, nor is it as entertaining as Valvrave was. Sometimes it's laughably dark, sometimes it's favorably dark, and sometimes there are huge fuck ups like shooting fucking DRAGONs with a machine gun while riding a mech/air-motorcycle hybrid that is also shooting the same DRAGON with a different, moderately larger machine gun. This show is shit, but I really want to see Ange's
I don't want her to die ;_;
>huge fuck ups like shooting fucking DRAGONs with a machine gun while riding a mech/air-motorcycle hybrid that is also shooting the same DRAGON with a different, moderately larger machine gun
>huge fuck ups
Nigger, that part was hilarious and it sealed the deal for me there and then.
DRAGONs are not dragons. Dragons are fire-breathing creature from ancient mythology. DRAGONs are Dimensional Rift Attuned Gargantuan Organic Neotypes.
So what does /a/ think that DRAGONs actually are? Time travelling mana-using future humans who are trying to end the world from being destroyed? Male Norma coming in to mate with all the females?
Flaws or not. I am actually somewhat interested in Cross Ange on its own merits. Not a for it being a supposed "trainwreck" mess, or a "social justice catastrophe", but because no matter its flaws I still find it interesting.
Angelise caught me off guard. I did not expect the show to be so straight faced with how inhumane the monarchy, including its princess was, and by extension their society at large.
When the show then took Angelise as being a Norma herself, and took this development seriously, not just glazing over it. I was pleasantly surprised again.
And while they have only been in one episode so far, I was a bit impressed the rest of the Norma got enough focus to showcase distinct personalities each, even when balancing screentime among eachother.
By no means a master piece or an extraordinarily spectacular show. But I am really thinking the show looks interesting enough for me to like it on its own merits. Kind of makes me wish this social justice shit had never laid its eyes on the show, and I also guess just about anything has got to be "epic trainwrecks" nowadays.
Anyone expecting the dragons to tentacle rape the girls?
I just started watching, and it's already hilarious.
I wonder if all Norma has accepted that they only have the option to go full lesbian or live a life of celibacy.
Though now I realize that most of them have probably never even seen a man. Being brought up as Norma from infancy. With the magical world outside being nothing more than mythical stories like that of legends.
They may have all grown up, into and past puberty without ever having seen the opposite sex.
They seem to be more interested in guro.
Perhaps if a subset of the dragons are more intelligent than the others.
Because otherwise, the way they go full picture related before evens howing their heads. Makes me doubt they will have much of any interaction with the girls not involving rip&tear.
This is a legitimate concern. So far i don't see who was supposed to be sympathetic in this show, the kingdom is full of racist dicks, the Normas are self-racist a-holes themselves and our heroine is a spoiled bitch being disciplined into becoming another self-racist douche.
The only way this could turn interesting is if Ange does change but in a way unexpected to the other Normas and end up motivating them into being better people. Spreading the chain of abuse will only prolongue the misery.
Cross Ange just takes a salad bowl of tropes and bravely slaps them into a two-episode time span. Holy shit, I've already seen this anime before in so many different forms, I'm really just wondering how many more cliches they can plow through. Despite all its excessive melodrama, this show still causes me to feel things. My penis also feels things.
Well at least this episode also had something funny but it was still bad. When is Jesus going to show up?
The DRAGONS are the heroes.
>Implying that poor DRAGON wasn't just getting revenge for friends slaughtered by the filthy Norma and their magic using masters
The DRAGON's are the victims.
So it's that one Netflix show but with mechs and dragons?
>the Normas are self-racist a-holes
Nope, that's just Ange.
I hate this show knowing ange will go through that hypocritical "I was wrong" treatment. She's such a shit. And just look at her in the first episode opening: still smug, still keeps doing what she likes, still breaking formation, still angry like she's been wronged.
She'll never change and will continue to think she's a special privileged snowflake. I hope someone impales a DRAGON dildo in her before the show's over.
That selfish bitch must receive the punishment of the Pudding Ghost!
Not gonna argue agaisnt that. Ange is a horrible person but so are her captors, if she accepts their ways without question she'll just turn into a different kind of jerk. One with actual power to impose the same mindset on weaker beings.
They discipline her into accepting her life as ahuman being is over. That she has to accept her only life from now on is to fight for people that hates her against her will and that her life is worthless aside of that, and that she must be a-okay with that. the normas are accepting the discrimination from society and spreading the stereotype among all new ones that come to them. Ange needs to suffer and mature for sure but she also has to surpass the views of those trying to turn her into a self-accepting slave.
While I agree it's a nice touch, the fact that she turned into a blood pinata at all is silly to me.
Not that I would really expect anything else.
>Despite all its excessive melodrama, this show still causes me to feel things. My penis also feels things.
a show having a lot of cliches and tropes is not inherently a bad thing because every other show out there is subject to tropes. what matters is execution. if the show caused you to feel things, it has already succeeded.
Why can't they all just be walking naked since they're all girls and they probably have been brought up in there anyway.
Shame probably would be the least of their worries.
In all honesty, when are we gonna see that golden Vilkiss mode in this series?
They probably cover themselves up to not make everyone gush and wet themselves all the time. As much as they may want to do nothing but orgies all the time, they need to fight DRAGONs, and they can't do that on weak legs.
How did she die anyway? Did the portal go through her body or something?
I don't usually watch ecchi shows so everything about this episode made me want to turn it off. But I'm probably going to keep watching anyway. Dammit Sunrise.
>How did she die anyway?
If you watch the prologue of the first episode again, you should notice that the dragons shoot lasers or whatever it is.
I want to be her boy toy.
Ah good point.
Didn't notice this and now I can't unsee it. What the fuck is even happening here. She's holding herself up with one arm which is fairly normal but there's no ways her knees would be long enough to reach the bed.
all she needs is an eye patch and a horn
So is this show going to be Muv Luv but with Dragons? Cause this whole scene was copy and paste from the first episode of Total Eclipse.
he's talking about Freezing dude. Series is so much like a clusterfuck and MC is hilariously useless.
And for the most part, MC won't be relevant except for the last part going "I'm saving the day despite the fact I did jack shit through most of it".
Normas are the true humans.
They are not limited by slave morality, and comforts of society that privileged class enjoys.
Lack of wars, poverty, inequality, hunger and political strife only make humans weaker in their conditions.
Magic creates un-evolving society that stagnates on it`s ideas and sciences.
Only when this ridiculous society is destroyed can human condition thrive us towards self-improvement.
>It's a trainwreck
Everyone always throws this term around.
It's been 2 episodes guys, something can't be a trainwreck from the very start. If it's a mess of a show from the very start then that's not a trainwreck, that's just a mess of a show.
A show has to have several episodes of good content and promise followed by a slippery slope of retardese, asspulls, inconsistencies and overall completely idiotic storytelling before it can be labelled as a trainwreck. Geass, Flamenco, Vulvarape kinda; those are trainwrecks, hell if you look up trainwreck anime the FIRST result is Flamenco.
If you like the show then just say you like the show, no need to say "OH NO! IT'S JUST A TRAINWRECK! THAT'S WHY I'M WATCHING IT" because if you're calling it that from the first episode than it aint no trainwreck.
That's SKULLFUCK, you mentally stunted freak of nature!
This time there's actual attempted rape
I was actually surprisingly enthralled by the character interactions this episode. I knew I was in for some kind of retarded rolller coaster ride, but I was wiling to roll with it anyway,
But it goes even further in trying to shit all over everything. It has embodied the worst of all Sunrise, in a kind of negative Flanderization. I'll admit that we haven't gotten the full picture yet but damn if I don't feel slightly alienated at this time.
>Everyone always throws this term around.
I really wonder why that is. Is this the same as all of that "ironic" anime viewing?
Is it because people are ashamed of admitting that they like something because it doesn't adhere to some kind of established quality standard, even though they find it entertaining?
I can't wait for their reunion. Best girl.
Anyone else feel like there was just so much necessary blood in this scene? Yeah, I know that this isn't the first time any anime has done this but I feel like they never get it right, or at least try to. The human body has about 1.5 gallons of blood, and even if it was split apart would it really spray out everywhere like a water cannon? Arteries and veins use pressure to pump the blood throughout the body but they aren't mini torpedo tubes or some shit.
It was a nice change of pace considering what else is on this season, I'm getting pretty tired of those black boxes or lens flare
They will pilot together like in the past. But I don't want her to die.
>Once a princess, waited on hand and foot by servants
>Now just a generic toy to the state
Yet somehow she's well kept, able to use makeup, and doesn't look like a soldier who was just forced into the role. Remove the lipstick, slap a few scuffs and bruises, maybe one or two scars, and take all hope from her eyes. SHE'S A FUCKING DOG OF THE MILITARY, NOT A PERSON. She shouldn't look the least bit like a fairly treated person.
Or am I misunderstanding the whole "abomination" thing?
>They will pilot together
Sunrise is finally giving us a double seat robot again after they denied us Satomi & Akira? BASED!
If she wants to keep hope of being a decent character she better woman the fuck up and take the punishment like a big girl. That's what separate true badass ladies from weak-minded sluts.
They get paid and have access to pretty good facilities to help them keep it together. A soldier who actually wants to live to see another day is much more useful than a broken husk who may not even fire at the enemy because being dead is not that much worse.
While I feel like an utter asshat for letting this shit get to me as much as it does, I have to admit that this show has angered me more than anything in a very very long time.
With that being said, I completely agree. All I want is for someone to murder the entire cast and let the dragons burninate fucking everything.
Too bad Dilandeau isn't around.
Remember to store your bakemono properly.
The thing that annoys me is that the state is not even interested in possibility of tracking down genetics that cause this issue.
If that were the case the fighting force could be much easierly controlled in their numbers and normas could be artificially created.
Then again, 2 episodes dosen`t really show anything much of what the state does.
we don't even know if they have extensive knowledge of DNA and genetics.
a lot of their technology is derived from the fact that they can use mana so you can't just assume that their technology is more advanced than ours on all fields of expertise.
I wish Ange would stay this way until at least the halfway point of the show
I don't think so, the Normas are not considered human beings so why would you worry about them being raped? I mean, they are already raped, what would change?
The staff is all female because they work a lot with very young girls so they don't want the normas to think there is something else in the world.
She'll cut her hair next episode and be the boss of the Norma institute.
Killing a fellow norma is one thing, killing some smug entitled magic-wielding faggot is a much more pleasurable other.
Also could you guys stop with all the rapist thing? They all clearly enjoyed it, as far as we have been shown.
Normally norma are detected at an early age and they clearly brainwash them from the start. Ange is probably the oldest person to enter the island, since she was so sheltered and had her meido do all Mana lifting for her.
>killing some smug entitled magic-wielding faggot is a much more pleasurable other.
And yet they are not killing nor touching the single female magic user we have seen there.
It's an all female thing because otherwise the Normas would start asking questions, I'm surprised they allowed Ange in instead of simply killing her.
thanks, Mistress Obvious
to think about, mb Zola have not cyber-eye only, but another cyber-thing
eh, I suppose it's possible but would be uncomfortable as fuck. Just try it yourself anon, your torso is straight but everything below is bent to the side.
And maybe red heads legs are more straight than we thought? One thing we know for sure is that there are some long fingers being shoved up there. Excuse my terrible ms paint proportions.
>And yet they are not killing nor touching the single female magic user we have seen there.
that single female magic user is probably the only reason they can get shit to bling out their rape palaces.
it's not surprising at all. just because they have advances on certain fields of technology doesn't mean that they're technologically advanced on all fields.
for example, our electronics develop faster than other fields of technology.
how else would they get nice shit? the mainland magicfags would probably just leave them there with the barest of sustinance. while she does consider them second class citizens, it is a step above monster, so she is probably willing to pull a few strings to keep the natives happy.
Really? you think they get all that shit because a single girl who has authority problems pulls the strings?
They get the luxury because it keeps them happy so they don't revolt.
Is it named "Cross" Ange because Ange is being cross-trained into a new lifestyle and purpose as a 3rd class citizen? As far as the first two episodes go, I've thoroughly enjoyed both of them. They are entertaining, keep a good pace, avoid filler, and have good seques with multiple-interleaved subplots going on. Having multiple subplots means the scriptwriter, animation supervisor, and director were all involved thru the whole design process before animation production began. That means early on a reasonable budget was alloted in expectations of implementing a tightly controlled screenplay.
The animation is crisp and I like how the animation staff is aware of jitter and tries to avoid long jittery pans. I didn't try to count the number of actual different frames of animation used per second, but this show felt like the number of frames varied as needed to maintain smoothness. A lot of other anime shows simply kept the same number of frames and would become more jittery or have to skip frames during trivial things such as pushing (example: shiro at school cafeteria in ep02 fate/stay night unlimited blade works) or important thing such as explosions (ex: one piece due to toei's cheapness).
>A rookie pilot thinks she's hot shit and tries to start trouble
>Ange is standing in a corner and gives her a measuring glare
>all the other pilots shrink away a little
>"What's that bitches problem?!"
>"Man, if you know what's good for you don't CROSS ANGE!"
It's kind of like k-on but with flying mecha bikes.
Blue best girl.
Short-haired Ange >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Long-haired Ange/Angelise Ikaruga Misurugi
So finally we will see the real deal next week.
I want to see Vilkiss-kun already.
I am going to self-insert into this scene.
I like it when I get hit.
>you will never be a cute norma and be forced to sexually serve a dominant lesbian captain
she's alpha as fuck
>Or am I misunderstanding the whole "abomination" thing?
No, you didn't misunderstand. But your understanding and normal logic is _overridden_ by any of the marketing departments of the individual production committee members. For character goods to sell, it is important to have her good looks be maintained. It's also important that main chars not actually be convicted of a crime like desertion since that would trash that char's marketing and licensing opportunities. Thus, logic and plot are of less importance than the needs of marketing.
It's bad enough that they fly in open cockpits without adequate face shields or goggles to protect the eye surfaces from dust, debri, and windburn. Moreover, the wind chill factor at their speeds should cause immediate problems. However, it looks grand having them fly in open cockpits as well as making toys that can accommodate posable figures in an open display.
Picture: windshield as shown is worse than having no shield. It would rip her headgear right off her face or shove its sharp points into her neck. However, it looks good for marketing purposes.
>I wish Ange would stay this way until at least the halfway point of the show
This, I would like to see her get filthy Normas killed by accident or by purpose.
It just doesn't make sense that she'll suddenly fight for them and cut her delicious long hair.
Your attitude is very suitable for a magic user in that society. As a 1st class citizen, you should look down upon the inferior and deign to help them. Helping the inferior only weakens proper society and prosperity.
>It just doesn't make sense that she'll suddenly fight for them and cut her delicious long hair.
Maybe she has some humanity and will regret causing the death of a young girl that admired her.
It doesn't matter if she is Norma or not, that woman was too arrogant from the start until now. I begun to hate her specially when he said to that mother that her daughter wasn't human
I'm gonna assume the captain dragged her out there to make her face the consequences of her actions, and then gets pissed when she keeps denying it. The tears are either from being treated like shit constantly or because she's finally realizing what a shit she's been.
