What's the best shonen and why is it Gash?
>>114952130
It's great, but not the best.
>>114952130
Shit man, I remember watching this when I was like 9 or 10 when waiting for Dragonball.
Is it a good read? I've heard good things about the manga.
>>114952130
Yu Yu Hakusho is the best but Gash is pretty far up there.
>>114952130
It's Rurourin Kenshin.
It's not even Raiku's best shounen, let alone the best shounen.
Yotsubato! is the best shounen you scrubs.
>>114952383
I didn't realize that was its demographic.
The ending made me cry like bitch.
Really good ending for Gash.
>>114952522
Man, Raiku's not subtle, but he's damned good at hitting all the emotional triggers. Every fucking chapter's like a hammer hitting you in the face.
>>114952624
That last arc was golden. Lots of emotion was put into it.
>>114952130
For once OP isn't a fag.
>>114952733
Agreed. There may be better shounen out there, but at least Gash ended well. That's so rare.
Who Hippo here?
>>114952852
Folgore is top tier.
The anime was pretty comfy to watch.
It was a nice read, might not be the best but it's top 5.
>>114952244
Anime sucked compared to the manga, aside from the songs.
Manga was 9/10
The Manga was so good
Gash ended well, but Doubutsu no Kuni ended perfectly. Was there any way he could have improved on that climax?
>>114952130
Gash was great manga wise. Too bad the anime fucked up but there wasn't much they could do since Raiku broke his hand. They had to change Gash's VA but that wasn't that hard.
Dobutsu no Kuni was better. Wish it got an anime series or even just an OVA
>>114955364
A movie for each stage of his life

If Jyuu died
>>114955564
>this incredibly shit taste
>>114955619
There is literally nothing good about Jyuu
>>114955944
>Kanchome and Folgore's final battle
>Both were based
Shit was amazing
>>114956905
I'm always entertained by the fact that Raiku's only character notes when creating Folgore were "Invincible Italian Man"
>>114957188
>Invincible Italian Man
>That has two songs about being invincible and grabbing tits.
I'm surprised he made it work as well as it did
>>114957557
Seriously, no GTO yet?
>>114957670
It's mostly been a gash thread. It's not a serious dickwaving contest until one of the Big 3 has been thrown out there.
Gash Bell is the best fuckin shonen ever..
>>114952327
Please get that shit out of here it turned to crap in the final time skip and it was riddled with plot holes and lack of proper character development/characterization for characters of plot relevance, i.e. Jyuu.
Raiku should be ashamed of that manga and you should too.
Eating fish was such a bailout.
>people actually thinking DnK was superior to Gash Bell
You people must be fucking trolling or retarded or possibly both. Triple Giller is probably up there with Clear in being one of the worst shonen villains ever. He belongs more in Kishimoto series then a fucking Raiku series.
>>114957994
>>114958153
Gash had a far less satisfying final fight. It also felt way more like an asspull than Doubutsu.
Kiyomaru was such an amazing shounen MC.
I love that most battles involved both tactics and pure power.
I like that Kiyomaro lost his bullshit power when he no longer had to fight a bullshit opponent.
>>114958376
>asspull
An ancient weapons weren't an asspull? Aren't you mad that the premise of the story is 5 children from the past are sent to the future to rebuild humanity and we know next to nothing about one of these kids? Literally we don't know why Jyuu was an edge lord or why someone like Olivia followed him. Raiku couldn't have fucking showed us how they met or how he acquired the weapons but didn't.
>>114958797
>Raiku couldn't have fucking showed us how they met or how he acquired the weapons
I sort of liked that.
It wasn't his story and it wasn't necessary to know what adventures he had off-screen. He was the hero of another story.
>>114958797
Jyuu wasn't the main character. I'm sure he had an interesting story, but I wasn't confused by any of it. Ancient weapons weren't an asspull, because they were part of the setup of the story that we were given. Kiyomaru's superpowers felt completely out of the blue when they were introduced, because the world we were given was supposed to be like our own except for the partners. Not to mention the random ability for all of the knocked out participants to lend their power to Gash at the end. I'm not saying that wasn't powerful, or expected as a shounen trope, but it didn't feel justified either.
So, yes, I'd like to see more Jyuu's story, but it's not necessary as part of the story that Raiku wanted to tell, while Gash ended with a powerup that felt completely unjustified.
>>114958961
So what is Raiku up to nowadays?
>>114959029
Fighting off the spectre of diabetes
One thing I fucked loved in Gash was the naming system that was used for spells.
When you looked into that stuff that a lot could be derived from a spell by analyzing its name.
Why was Sunbeam so damn Groovy?
>>114959310
Because his partner is so moe.
>>114959219
I don't know why, but I keep coming back to this page. I love the idea of taking a spell that we're all intimately familiar with and changing it just slightly at the most important moment.
Italian is good
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
This is probably an unnecessary comparison but I got to say it...Konjiki no Gash kicks the everloving SHIT out of Shaman King as a shounen battle manga and Takei isn't half the writer that Raiku is.
Who's the best Mamodo and why is it Victoreem?
>>114968909
>Mamodo
>>114968955
It's all the same shit.
Best demon was Barry.
Best partner was Sherry.
Best girl was Leila.
I ain't arguin this.
