On a further note, I just finished the Fate route yesterday, holy hell were those sex scenes shitty and forced as all hell. Starting UBW route tonight, both of these routes are non-canon as I hear since Ataraxia goes with Heaven's Feel being the canon one, I hope this is true, since I really dislike all sorts of "Alternate dimensions" and "all timelines can be true at once" bullshit since it makes things extremely confusing. And I know Rin fucks time up in Ataraxia, it's a nice way to make them remember the previous routes, but it doesn't mean they happened in that universe.

Are different "routes" a common thing in Visual Novels? I have never read(?)/played(?) one and people say that VNs are so much better than their adaptions (due to being the original content which I agree with).

I like to sit back and enjoy the story or hate it for what it is, for what the author intended. The moment some button pops up and asks ME what to do really kills it. I would choose what I think the person who actually has to make the decision would do. In that regard the author might aswell just give me correct answer instead of making the think.
