Last thread just got archived and ended in woes over the fact that in the Spear Gaiden spin off
Naofumi never meets Raphtalia in that universe because Motoyasu never knew where he bought her from. Motoyasu didn't think it was important, though, since he always remember her as strong and confident.
How does that makes you feel, /a/?
>Raphtalia was also among those cases.
>In the beginning, they considered making her into a servant. A well-buffed noble bought her and tried teaching her multiple things.
>But the coughing was trouble enough, and she also shrieked like a banshee at night on top of that.
>Thus, she was promptly refunded back to the tent the next day.
>The next buyer also attempted to teach Raphtalia various stuff, but again she was immediately returned the following day.
>The owner before me was the cruelest buyer of them all.
>They purchased her one evening, whipped her throughout the entire night, and resold her, tattered and torn, the very next morning.
She will be bought, beaten, and abandoned continuously until she inevitable succumbs to the suffering and dies feeling worthless. Also, slave trader will just throw her corpse to his other demons for food or some shit.
?Conditions for the Curse Series fully unlocked?
One of the girls in Naofumi's harem gets burned into a crisp and dies asking Naofumi to seriously consider the feelings the women around him have for him. Her final request was that he take her corpse into his shield so that they could be together forever.
Whip hero caused her death, along with many others. When the heroes were escaping from him the first time, Raphtalia almost got left behind, but another companion sacrificed their self to help her escape. Naofumi was worried that Raphtalia could have gotten tortured to death. Or mind raped (then raped) and turned into a sex slave. Either or was possible, since Malty was with the whip hero at that time.
Shhhhhhh. Let the pain settle in first.
Licia (Ricia?) looked much older than I imagined. I thought she was just supposed to be a 14 year old girl.
The LN has already gone past her introduction, though.
Someone just hasn't gotten around to scanning her pics yet, if she has any. She should have come in at volume 6, since she arrives
after Naofumi gets his own town and starts gathering slaves to populate it.
It doesn't. It unlocked the Blessed Series of shields which turned all of Naofumi's shields into Blessed versions and locked away the Cursed Series. Naofumi unlocks everything after he turns into a god.
Considering we only recently got pics from volume 2 and 4? We might have to wait for a bit for volume 6 ones.
I've only seen a few volume 6 images as it is.
I got a message on my blog asking for a higher res of the shield wallpaper and for a moment I thought it was one of you guys due to the way it was worded.
its SAMPLE/wallpaper anon here, btw. I came here just to say that
I actually cried when this happened. Kudos to the author, because I hadn't cried since the first time I watched LOGH.
No, he unlocks the rest of the slave series shields, the entire line of subhuman shields, and the entire line of comrade shields in one go. She also purifies the curse series and lifts the curse of that skill that always lowers his stats when he uses it. Her shield is a special shield in its own series called the breath series and its name is Shield of Mercy. It's special ability is that it automatically grants all other shields the same stats as it (and it stacks) so even his piss weak shields always have high defense. It also had some other cool skill, but I forget what it was.
Wait, did you think Iron Maiden was his strongest move? Because the other move (the steel bear trap) was much more powerful. It killed the spirit turtle in one hit.
>I actually cried when this happened. Kudos to the author, because I hadn't cried since the first time I watched LOGH.
Yeah. Me too.
I was crossing my fingers for a miracle and hoping she'd become the finger hero and recover. But nope. Then when she came back, I was like. Oooooh man. My heart. I was annoyed with the bitch being the only one who got TWO revivals.
When I was reading it I thought "why the fuck is it called breath?" but I guess breath and bless are pretty much the same pronunciation. Bless does fit better if you consider that it purified the curse series.
When he went evil, he made trees that could grow bread and crepes, healed the sick, and created a race of chibi monsters that resembled Raphtalia. The other heroes became a thief lord, a public nuisance, and attempted to take over the kingdom respectively when they went crazy.
Got your Back ShieldBrother
Dude, you forgot his floating plant castle fortress which he landed on Sadina's island and then erected towers all around it to project an infinitely regenerating barrier made out of one of his shield skills
Very plump. One presented its stomach to Naofumi to use as a pillow. He fondled it for a while before Raphtalia caught him and forbid him from petting the little tanukis. He does it secretly when she's not watching anyway.
based shield bro
>The other heroes became a thief lord, a public nuisance, and attempted to take over the kingdom respectively when they went crazy
Read it again you might have miss it since clearly due to Mad Scientist ShieldBro over synthesizing evolution process and trading def to knowledge, he was able to make the plants evolve into humanoid, heck he is even the king
Oh, I'm just listing the things that made him differ from the others. Even if he became a 'demon king', he was surprisingly very benevolent compared to the other heroes. You know. Aside from his plan to kill everyone and only let the 'worthy' live. But he put that plan on hold for Raphtalia.
I know he made plant golems. Which chapter is this in? Is it before or after he punishes Sadina after finding out about her subterfuge?
Read the ln, haven't seen a
tiger girl yet, and it's up to the part where they disable the spirit turtle. Ln handles this differently, and we have Keele, girl in pink, and some old hag high level monk joining the group at this point
The translations on BT aren't that far ahead yet. This is around the 200-300 range.
Ah, the final part of the siege. I can't remember if these 'loli plants' showed up afterward, though? If they were only around for that battle, that may be why I can't remember them since the only minions Naofumi created who survived after that were the tiny tanukis and the healed sub-humans who were given stronger mutant forms.
Are you saying they joined when they attacked the turtle? Did Licia receive her training from the grandma yet?
I think the only reason why the chinks didn't like the near ending of the Web Novel because
of course you would hate it, EVERYONE DIED and Melty that fucking bitch live. and it didn't resolve quite quickly
Anon who started re-typesetting the chapter two days ago and then disappeared here:
Sorry about that ;_;
My home internet died a bit after my last post and hasn't been back up since; I'm at a cafe right now.
I hope you managed to fix up the chapter since then anyway.
so apparently after the siege arc where Shieldbro gets cured of his mad scientist ego, and after that we see Bitch princess dead, and Tanuki just casually walk on bitchs dead corpse(she got fucked by the plant army) and then when the chap was over, the chinks felt it was a good ending, Naofumi confessed, Firo is daughteru,........and then the author gets crazy and revived the bitch princess as the last boss, first to die was queen and they form a party with trash king included and fought the bitch, but it was enviable they got fucked over by the bitch goddess, ShieldBro and tanuki was sent to shieldbro's old word while others heroes died, except for Spearfag(timeloop).
It clearly made a bad taste on the chinks when the bitch revived
I face Firo and go over this multiple times.
“Firo, what is your job?”
“Uhmm, Firo’s job is to pull the carriage to wherever master wants to go.”
“And to kick that spear guy if I ever see him.”
But....bitch princess DIED before Naofumi's mad scientist arc.
Bitch led an army of brainwashed people, tried to brainwash Raphtalia, got defeated, then ordered the brainwashed people to attack Raphtalia but ended up getting attacked herself when Raphtalia switched their appearances with an illusion spell. Bitch never fought the plant army. She was already dead (sent to the Foburei king) before Naofumi became crazy.
Also, bitch didn't revive at that point yet. Whip hero killed the queen, then got defeated. Then Naofumi made an alliance with Gurasu's (Glass?) people and tried to prevent the final wave from arriving, but failed. THAT was the point the bitch came back as a goddess.
Heroes are bitching about Shield Hero being a cheater after they get their ass kicked by Glass, the scythe dude and his girlfriend at the island so the queen has them go get some training aside from power leveling.
Queen introduces them to the pink girl, whatever her name is, and grandma (and somewhere during this, Keele also joins up and is leveling up with Firo).
The other heroes think this is a waste of time after trying out some of the Ki training initially (and yeah, Licia gets her rudimentary training there) so they drop out from the training sessions, then boom, spirit turtle awakens.
So Shield Hero's party, including grandma, pink girl, and Licia at this point eventually stop the spirit turtle, which according to the summary for volume 7 hasn't really been stopped.
>which according to the summary for volume 7 hasn't really been stopped.
You counting in LN volumes? Because the
spirit turtlewas already beaten before the plot proceeded to anything else.
Raph and Firo decapitated it in volume 6 of the LN, Shield Hero's main job was blocking. Didn't even use his cursed shield I think? Summary for volume 7 is that he hears from this girl claiming herself to be a familiar of the spirit turtle is that the spirit turtle is still alive.
To finally kill the turtle in the WN, Raph and Firo were in charge of killing its heart while it was up to Naofumi to crush its head with his cursed shield.
Was the 'spirit turtle familiar' the girl that appears in the background of this cover?
Where can I get the ones before this? Just read up to 8 of the manga and want more, and taking peaks at spoilers makes me REALLY want more.
pls no bully, bt only has up to 24/27 or whatever, if 34 is posted then the rest must be somewhere r-right?
It looks like
It's split up. The fight in volume 6 ends with this part http://ncode.syosetu.com/n3009bk/118/, without the spirit turtle resurrecting on the spot.
As in no encounter with a phoenix has happened as of yet.
I mean the summary up on amazon.
Does the Houou show up, though? Because, honestly, it'd be a shame if Atra didn't even show up on a cover when Eclair and Licia did before she goes bye-bye for a while.
And what's with the file name? Different end?
Please keep these images coming!
LN Image anon, do you have a better copy of this image?
the spirit turtle isn't even actually defeated for real yet just incapacitated, so it'd be a bit too early to show the other beasts, right?
And I'm just hoping for a non-
god endending, so don't worry about it.
Well, you'll just have to cross your fingers and hope the bitch doesn't return as a goddess then and that the whip hero's reincarnating process is given a different explanation.
And huh. Quite the resemblance between Malty and the queen. Compared to Melty and the queen, that is.
The queen has returned. She's punishing the king for discriminating against Naofumi when she gave him explicit instructions to treat the shield hero as well as the others and Malty for being a manipulative bitch. Currently deciding their punishments along with Naofumi.
Yeah. I enjoyed it too.
The heroes were already worshiped as gods anyway. And their method of becoming gods was nice: borrowing the power from the spirits of the weapon and the world.
Well we have to see how volume 7 does. It's been increasing a bit each volume so if volume 7 does like 12-13k first week sales, it should be pretty good.
I still doubt it will get an anime though.
Not going to bother doing anything better than this.
I've mentioned this many times but she's not actually a tanuki, she's a raccoon type beastman. Yes there is a difference, no it doesn't mean anything since anons will just keep using the Tanuki nickname.
It would be better if she was actually a tanuki, though.
The tanuki monsters Naofumi made all are great illusionists and the strongest amongst them can actually physically transform to resemble other people. Then there was the short rivalry between the whip hero's 9-tailed fox and Raphtalia + the hints of Raphtalia not being a normal raccoon type beastman + the 9-tailed fox smelling Raphtalia and thinking she resembles some rival that sealed her in the past.
I don't know anymore. Here have a raccoon/tanuki whatever.
>Spear hero gaiden
>He is now a good guy
>But still make me mad.
Funny thing in the spear hero gaiden.
Melty fell hard for Naofumi and is aggressively trying to seduce him, so Naofumi has to set Motoyasu as his night guard. It's funny how, even in different timelines, Naofumi still needs protection from lusty lolis.
Well. He'll be a good guy in the main story too, actually.
>all these spoilers
I haven't read a thing but you guys are testing my willpower.
>It's a strange sight to see Raphtalia in a semi-crouching position on top of Firo's owl shaped body.
>I look at Firo and see her in human form piggybacking Raphtalia. Raphtalia seems troubled and tried to get my attention while the passer-bys whisper and point at us.
It is so goddamn adorable.
Not necessarily google translate alone. With translation aggregator, it's a simple matter of comparing different translations given by multiple machine translators and cobbling something together with that.
she keeps teaming up with Itsuki since Motoyasu keeps chasing her off whenever she tries to approach him on the night Naofumi 'raped' her. Itsuki was her next choice after him.
After attaining god powers, the spirits of the weapon asked Naofumi what he wanted as a reward (return to Earth and get good luck, return to Earth with a companion, stay in their world were the normal choices), but since Naofumi and Raphtalia were pretty much gods, they decided to copy the bitch goddess and created, well, copies of themselves. A copy of them went to Earth. A different copy stayed on that world. And even more went out into the multi-verse to fight against evil gods.
On Earth, Naofumi becomes successful and marries Raphtalia. Their wedding is interrupted by Atra, the tiger loli, who came along with Naofumi since she spiritually attached herself to him. She got a flesh body too.
In the fantasy world, Naofumi ends up marrying and impregnating most of his harem. Raphtalia was his first wife. He had the most children with Sadina, the 'older sister' figure. His children with Melty became rulers and his village expanded from being a village to being an empire.
Ok quick summary of the ending.
Naofumi and Raphtalia are Gods doing God things, protecting worlds and the like. They can leave behind mortal copies of themselves on the worlds they visit, they left behind mortal copies on Naofumi's Earth and Fantasy world. Eventually their copies on Fantasy world die and they go back to visit and Firo who is immortal wants to come along on their god adventuring and that's basically it.
Harem end with Raphtalia, Firo and Alta.
You'll have to wait for scans. They'll probably show up in volume 7 of the LN? Assuming the affair with the
spirit turtle familiar and the whip hero appearing earlier than usualdoesn't last the entire volume, Naofumi should be able to start his village in that volume and begin buying slaves to fill it, which is when Sadina and Atra are recruited. It should also be the time when Keele (is that really her name? I assumed it was Kiru) is bought, but she apparently got recruited earlier before the spirit turtle battle. Probably so that she could feature more as a prominent character? She's pretty great.
Eclair. She was the daughter of the original lord of Raphtalia's village. When the wave came, her parents died and Eclair was imprisoned by the 3 Hero Church for supporting sub-human rights. When the pope of the church is killed by Naofumi, she's released and was appointed as an assistant for Naofumi's territory since he chose Raphtalia's village from which to build his base. She was a pretty minor character in her introduction like Keele (Kiru?) but, like her, she gradually became more of an important minor character. Not sure how she's introduced in the LN, though.
What are some other good
or at least not completely shitLNs to read while I wait for Shieldbro translations?
I'm already reading:
Mother of Learning
Dungeon ni Deai blahblahblah
Only Sense Online
I actually wanted Naofumi just to end up with Raphtalia initially, but after
Atra diedand the little speech she gave to him, I was like. Fuck. Harem end engage. That scene was just painful to go through, especially because of how much Atra established herself as a main character by that point.
Tsuyokete New Saga
No Game No Life
A bunch of stuff that has varying amounts of translations but rarely more than 5 chapters yet, I can link them if interested.
New characters introduced during the
Cal Mira island arc. That and the spirit turtle arcseem to be the major changes so far between the WN and LN. Aside from Fitoria changing into human form and, presumably, speaking.
Dawnbringer: The Story of the Machine God
Hikaru ga Chikyuu ni Itakoro......
Hyouketsu Kyoukai no Eden
A Simple Survey
Rokka no Yuusha
Kino no Tabi
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon
Madan no Ou to Vanadis
Owari no Chronicle
The Circumstances Leading to Waltraute's Marriage
Tsukumodo Antique Shop
The Zashiki Warashi of Intellectual Village
Tenkyou no Alderamin
This should be all, I think.
Keele gets introduced in the main story in the light novels in volume 4 while they're on the run from Motoyasu. There's some sadistic noble who takes Melty to his mansion with the intention of returning her to the cult and while they're breaking in to take back Melty, they also find a badly tortured Keele there and rescue her. There's a fight, he loses, he unleashes a t-rex dragon, and queen chocobo arrives, beating up the t-rex, and teleporting the party minus Keele, who split from the group earlier under the care of a friendly noble. Then Keele comes back in volume 6 making a full recovery and wanting to become strong like Raph and fight against the wave.
So yes, it looks like it's quite different?
Yep. I enjoyed their dynamic.
All I know is
that they beat up the other 3 heroes easily, then fight against Naofumi who presumably wins. Not sure if they stayed with Naofumi afterward, but if not, they'll probably come up again in the future. Maybe once Naofumi becomes a landlord?
A much more striking character introduction. Much more appropriate.
Hopefully, the author
expands Sadina's character more in the LN too and on the peculiarities of Raphtalia's race. Since when Sadina brought it up in the WN, Naofumi shut down her storytime and we never got to learn more about what Raphtalia's real race is.
Ren repented after he was defeated and admitted to Naofumi that he was a conceited person and left it to him to warn him if he ever got arrogant again. He becomes a pretty reliable subordinate after that and the hero Naofumi usually partners up with.
not really. So far this one has be more unpredictable since the beginning. Though now its easily starting to get predictable.
try watching the anime if you can. By good that was bad. All the LN fags said the LN was better. No, it really wasn't. Just more detailed and more boring.
Tate Yuusha is as generic as it gets and the writing goes to the shitter really fucking fast, all it's good for is wish fulfillment, it's barely above Arifureta and the like.
The fact that you think your standard thrown into another world+rpg mechanics setting isn't generic is hilarious beyond all belief.
I didn't say generic. Just about everything is nowadays. I was referring to the predicability. I think this is one of the few who start out the way it did, and how the MC went about things (borderline evil). I know its generic as all get out but at least it isn't boriing like Tokyo ravens where the females are dry, predicable and annoying, the MC is more dense than a neutron star and is loved by everyone simply because MC is sasuga.
Well. It wouldn't happen if someone didn't reply to him.
Generic is the stock insult where anon never ever explains why something is generic. Then outright ignore any responses to the contrary.
Wish fulfillment is the stock insult anon uses whenever an MC gets into an advantageous position. Apparently, the perfect manga for them is where the MC is always the underdog. Until suddenly, they're not due to rapid power-ups caused by willpower.
And here the MC is hated simply because he's the MC with pretty much everyone that hates him being shallow non-entities whose main purpose as far as the plot goes is to make him suffer.
I haven't seen anyone said that.
I did, however, say that Motoyasu got pretty close with Naofumi in the spear hero spin-off. In the main story, Naofumi's pretty annoyed by Motoyasu, but not especially hostile.
You're working on some flawed information.
"Everyone" hates him because of the religion of the country he was summoned in. In other countries, he'd be much more well-treated. He naturally gained the confidence of the laypeople by his own efforts + having a 'divine bird' peddle with him (the people are religious and recognize philorea queens/kings as sacred symbols). By chapter 70 or so, no one 'hates' him anymore and he's treated appropriately as a hero.
The problem is when the story is just going through the motions. The interactions between characters are just stock quotes of friendship or such. The battles mostly composed of the character exchanging signature moves with the new moves of a new enemy before suddenly figuring out some trick to beating the enemy or overpowering them with willpower. Stuff like that.
Gunpla otaku/programmer gets run over by a truck and ends up reincarnating into a world where magical robots are a thing, suffice to say he goes nuts at that point. He's also a trap.
Motherfucker, did you just call Tanuki a slut?
>MC gets harem
>every single other hero either becomes villain or useless, while he becomes the true hero of the kingdom
Yet another LN with great start but horrible ending. Why can't japs be consistent in quality?
>monster milf chapter delayed
I like the rise in popularity that monster girls are getting as of late. Hopefully we will get some more "severe cases" of demi-humans and not just ears and tails.
Thoug I can enjoy that too.
Oh, some of the sub-humans can transform to look more animal-ish. It's a special skill. Keele, for example, can transform into a dog. Fouru (Atra's older brother) into a tiger. Sadina into a orca (and, later, a walrus when crazy Naofumi punished her for giving away secret information on the vulnerabilities of his fortress' defenses).
>cat girls are the only kind of monster girls
dragon girls are objectively the best demi-humans
>Can't resist the spoilers
>Find out there's a
I feel inclined to drop this now if there's no good reason for this...
Oh man this manga is really doing things for my slave fetish.
As in, the focus of the series becomes that
MC and his future harem. The premise right now is pretty good, but if the story develops into something like that of a harem series, with MC being surrounded by woman for some reason, and that being the heavy focus.
All i'm saying is that, as long as the story dosn't drop from the whole world building it's fine, but if it goes for what i said on spoilers then i would feel like i was rused on what the story was actually building up to be.
Harems can be enjoyable you know.
I keep forgetting.
For there to be healing there must also be suffering.
Well, read the spoilers again. It happens at the end.
The MC does have women around him. Most of them bought and enslaved. And they do display affection towards him.
Really, this shouldn't be raising up any alarm bells for you. You may as well give up on every story where someone likes another person. Read for yourself and decide whether or not the focus on the romance is too heavy or not, or you just end up sounding judgmental and snooty. Which just annoys other people, like that one anon insulting you for your hasty reaction.
She is a large independent slave who doesn't need no curse after all.
Imagine all that PLOT in the OVA.
I've partially translated some of the wn, I was the one who did the first bits of 33 before leaving it to someone else. As for how I did it, I just put it in Google Translate and spiffied it up like someone else said. Isn't too hard if you have a basic knowledge of Japanese and understanding of Naofumi's narration.
I just read the LN chapter that talks about what happened now, and they semmed to have skiped him using the leftovers of the slave ink on his shield and unlocked the "slaver shield", wich helps raise slave stats and some other stuff.
You must be deaf. Igarashi Hiromi for chocobo-tan.
So how does Raphtalia's Atk stat by the end of the series work? If she's
literally god-tierdoes that mean she can just one-shot anything with a flick of her finger?
Any novels like Re:Monster where the main character becomes another species entirely? I liked it in Re, but the MC's OP eating power makes it kinda off-putting.
Or maybe the opposite of the premise, with a character going into the "real" world, and having to deal with that, and maybe other beings who followed them for more conflict.
Well, it's the circumstance of his corruption. Getting cursed works on what's there, it doesn't add any unrelated traits to the hero's character. So his desire was to make a better world for everyone under (following, that is) him and that's what his curse focused on. As was mentioned, he didn't really have any scruples with killing people. He was just too focused on the immediate needs of his minions and the task of 'resurrecting' Raphtalia.
>with a character going into the "real" world, and having to deal with that, and maybe other beings who followed them for more conflict.
That's basically the demon mcdonald's one, whatever its name was.
It got an anime a couple seasons back.
The whole absorption and monster evolution aspects of Re:Monster seem like good concepts separately but it would've been best if it just focused on one or the other. That way the MC wouldn't be as broken.
I dunno, man. Maybe I'm getting a little tired about stories about the heroic underdog everyone discriminates against from the start - For no real reason.
Like, it's not even HIM that they dislike personally! It's just his title! You'd think that all the heroes would eventually just go batshit with power.
It's fine together. Even if you think it's a bad thing that the MC isn't a constant underdog, that's just your taste rather than any indication of quality. It's as shallow as looking down on Tate no Yuusha for the MC becoming a
godat the end.
It's really obnoxious, the way anons like that just drop in and act like they know better. It isn't really right to demand that all stories adhere to the same formula over and over again. The underdog who trains hard (and turns out to be a prodigy but somehow is still the underdog)? Sometimes you just want to read about the competent, experienced guy who gained his skills from experience and knows how to properly use their abilities.
>Like, it's not even HIM that they dislike personally! It's just his title! You'd think that all the heroes would eventually just go batshit with power.
Well, to be honest I think you read too much manga / LN or watch anime. It's hard to make a very original story nowadays. You need some rest or try genre that you never touched before m8, maybe after that you can enjoy some chinese comic and cartoon just like usual.
Don't know Mahouka.
I don't really care for the character relationships in SAO.
Execution is important. The underdog formula has been done to death. Doesn't mean everything that repeats the scenario is crap, it just means those who can't do it well are glaringly crappy.
I'll go check that out then.
It's not like I heavily dislike it, it's just that it became too overboard as I read it. I mean, okay, gaining knowledge and (some) powers is fine and all, but later when he just ate random tools, and gained a ton of random powers without side-effects made the ability a bit too silly. I don't know, maybe I'm a bit too picky over that part.
>Like, it's not even HIM that they dislike personally! It's just his title! You'd think that all the heroes would eventually just go batshit with power.
Well. The fact of the matter is that you're not actually reading things right.
He's discriminated against by the church. The normal people discriminate against him because of what they've heard from their king (ie; their trusted leader). Then he makes up for it overtime. Nice and easy progression instead of the instant turn arounds you see sometimes.
I thought it was the whole
human supremist thing, and the Shield Hero's reputation.
I don't actually see anything wrong with fighting for a flawed system, though. Eien No Aselia made the otherworld an awful place, but the focus of the story was on warfare, not who was right or wrong.
It can be fun to be bad. The plucky guy who rebels against the status quo kind of annoys me, sometimes. It's like a Battle Royale setup where the main character is always, always the person who doesn't want to fight: Sometimes, I wish people would just get with the program, so to speak.
I'm probably just jaded, though.
You're too quick in judgement. If you've already decided on something, then you'll stick to that choice stubbornly.
Why is it 'overboard'? Just because he got more power? Don't freak out over the fact that eating a sword makes him better at using sharp weapons and think that's 'too much'. That just doesn't make sense. Consider the scale and at what point the 'power levels' of the story is at first before making any hasty snap judgments like "It's OP!"
>Sometimes, I wish people would just get with the program, so to speak.
Agreed. If it's seinen or horror, it's fine to drag out the hesitation and mental anguish, but when you're going for action and adventure, it's better to cut to the chase most of the time. It's so easy to rub a person the wrong way if the MC is portrayed as too hesitant to answer the call to adventure. That's the problem with repeating tropes; older and more experienced readers just want to skip the hammy parts (but if it's cut too short, it's just lazy characterization).
>I thought it was the whole
human supremist thing, and the Shield Hero's reputation.
Yeah. That's related to the religion.
They used to worship all 4 heroes, but when the past shield hero supported the sub-humans, the 3 heroes church was formed.
The difference is that Naofumi didn't know how to make the best use of his tools at the beginning (because of how out of the loop he was). He'd have had a much easier time if he had
copied the weapons in the first weapon shop he visited like the other heroes. The bashskill would have been really useful, as would the meteor shield.
How behind is the most up to date Anon for this series? I see there's a shitload of material, hopefully this series doesn't go into random stats bullshit. Seems like it's become too long though.
The crime against humanity goes into its last stretch. Today those eyes will perish, and so will I.
I don't remember anyone saying they'd do 35, but 34 was completed by >>113502595
I'd try my hand at partially doing 34, but I'm a bit busy now. Gonna check out what translation aggregator has to offer over Google Translate, though.
Your sacrifice will be honored in the upcoming Tanuki empire.
ever since I saw the first liveTL thread I've picked up on a few other webnovels
according to the spoilers and what else I've read, is it normal for web novels to get absolutely ridiculous? not that I'm complaining, they're pretty fun to read and definitely a different experience from LN or manga
I don't even know the spoilers for this series and I'd take a decent wager this probably does sadly. At least how I view this WN alone anyway, LNs and manga seem stable by their own format. Seems each WN may do things of their own.
A few of the pages in the first version had some nice cleaning, typesetting, redrawing, and page size.
In particular, the two spreads were actually combined and not "mashed" together.
Yes, want to see what happens when a successful author gets to no longer be edited?
Laurell K Hamilton is what happens.
You're right, I mostly used the term in the sense that the composition and publishing are more or less completely informal. The author just writes what they come up with and posts it online. There's typically no second opinion or someone catching their mistakes and keeping them down to earth.

Webnovel in progress
There are about 378 chapters in the main story
Translations seem to be going at about a chapter a day, so if interest remains, the whole WN will be translated in a year.
Of course that's if interest remains.

Something like "Shieldbro forced Tanuki to reapply the seal, but it's okay, Tanuki didn't mind."
