Late night manga thread.
What'cha waiting on?
What are you hoping gets scanlated?
>artists that need more attention
Pictured is Takahashi Yousuke. Hox is working on some oneshots by him, so he might get more of a readership in the English community.
Caught up with the latest Apocalypse no Toride chapter. Was going to start reading some Black Knight Story, which Hox did a little while back.
Waiting for more Mob I suppose.
Hoping for some more Jiro Taniguchi. I wonder if my local library is going to have the last volume of Summit of the Gods anytime soon. My Father's Almanac needs someone working on it as well. I'd love to see some more Susumu Katsumata in English. He has some other stuff published in French I think, but no scanlations certainly.
reading 7 seeds.
hoping Cupid no Itazura Nijidama is actually picked up this time and not another 700 day tease.
Just released c2-3. Link is (https://www.sendspace.com/file/ch0fh0) for those interested.
Oh great,an manga theard!
Sumomomo Momomo. Just started it,might be a good read?
>What'cha waiting on?
Manzen Maou Shoujo Ena-sama so i can at least read them raw.Even thought there was chinese chapter releasing slowly.
>What are you hoping gets scanlated?
100 - Handred ,which i had scanned. it is kind of wasted to see the story left untrasnlated.
I really need to catch up on dorohedoro, i'm like 10 chapters behind, has it been good? Should i wait for the end?
Picked up Otomen since I'm trying to read more shoujo. I'm somewhere between a third and halfway through.
It's not bad, but it stretches itself too thin. Instead of developing existing characters, the mangaka just keeps introducing new otomen and while the concept wasn't bad in the beginning, now it feels stale and redundant.
There's no romance, since the main couple is a couple in name only, and the single potential secondary couple that showed up only got a single appearance so far. I hoped that with the multitude male characters it would have a lot of background romance, which is something I'm really fond of, but instead it's just a sausagefest.
Also, to be honest, it feels rather hypocritical - it's okay if you're an otomen, and have girly hobbies or whatever - but ONLY if you're ALSO strong and tall and manly at the same time. The only otomen who didn't have those qualities is not only pretty much a joke character, he ends up getting NTRed, too. I guess it's realistic, but still, bitches and whores, man. I hope it doesn't continue in that vein.
Well, the bitches and whores bit was more in jest and about the mangaka rather than the girls in this. Well, other than the protagonist's mother, that one is a manipulative bitch of the highest caliber.
But yeah, if you're reading it for the girls you'll be disappointed - the main girl has some great moments, but even she doesn't appear much, and the other ones are completely forgettable side characters that barely show up.
Maybe it will change in the second part, we'll see.
That said, for shoujo it's not exactly bad - I can't bring myself to even read bad shoujo pas a volume or two, while this was reasonably entertaining.
Don't let it die, guys.
It's not an hidden gem but tomorrow Shurayukihime will finally get released in my country and I'm so fucking excited. Can't wait.
Speaking about Kamimura, do you still plan to release some of his stuff sometimes in the future, Hox?
I picked up a couple long shounen series to tide me over during the Fukumoto drought. I'm really liking all of them so far. Also, volume 4 of What Did You Eat Yesterday just arrived in the mail, so I'm looking forward to some more cute gay shit.
I really want to see more scans of Jin. It sucks since EGScans is a very consistent group, but they're too busy working on webtoons to release chapters more than about once a month.
I don't think I've ever seen Little Forest mentioned on /a/.
Maybe for the best, because it might trick hapless anons into moving out to the countryside and becoming farmers.
Taniguchi got a lot of releases in Italy. No wonder since he took great inspiration from Vittorio Giardino.
We got Chichi no Koyomi too but I still have to read it. I wish I wasn't a poor neet.
For now I only have Garouden, Tokyo Killers and Benkei in New York.
All this Taniguchi talk made me check what else he has published in my country(I already own Fuyu no Doubutsuen) and apparently Kodoku no Gourmet is coming out in a couple months. Definitely going to buy that, since I wanted to read it for a long time.
Started Ateya no Tsubaki again since it got picked up by a new group. Really funny that it got from Batoto on the grounds of being "borderline hentai", yet you don't see any genitals and the sex scenes aren't the focus, the psychosexual violence that follows them and the subsequent investigation by the MCs is. Shit, even I'm not that prudish, this is ridiculous.
The series itself is interesting mainly both due to the atypical MC who is a semi-misogynistic and borderline asexual shunga artist, aand the historical Edo period setting. The female MC is also nice, she's not archetypical and has an existence that doesn't depend on the MC. While the subject matter is bleak, lighter moments also exist so it balances out.
Only complaint I have is the character design for the females. Every single one of them has big tits and asses but we all know that this isn't the case in any country, let alone old Japan. The character interactions and the atmosphere feel natural but those designs sot of degrade that.
Hopefully new chapters won't take long.
Are you Italian too, by chance? We have the normal edition, the "collector" edition (or whatever it is called and then the Kanzenban, for wich I'm pretty sure Hagiwara is redrawing the old volumes.
Reread YKK, shit's depressing. 10/10
waiting on natsu no zenjitsu & sakurasaku syndrome
Well, that's just from my personal experience. He hardly even posts in the IRC, and Ika scanlations are mostly autonomous (TL is posted whenever it's done, editors get to work whenever they feel like it, and the chapters are posted).
I caught up to Berserk last night. I'm also trying to push myself through SZS but I'm having a really hard time getting interested in it. I don't want to spoil myself on the ending though. I've managed to avoid them since the manga ended.
Other than that I picked the series that are getting anime next season.
>mfw webcomic reader updated for bato.to
Thank fuck. I was worried for a couple days.
SZS kinda requires you to at least care about Japanese culture, if not necessarily be knowledgeable about it - basically, you have to be THIS weeaboo to get on this ride. Unless you're just in it for the girls.
Watch the rest of the anime, it's all good and I think easier to get into than the manga - you can then skip the manga chapters covered by the anime and read the rest if you still care.
>last update: 2 weeks ago
>scanlator asks to wait patiently
right when i pick this up
I started reading Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san. It's fucking cute as shit. Pure diabetes.
Oh shit new chapter out? Is it monthly or biweekly or what? Aiki's not as good as it used to be tho.
That's only half of the problem. Other half is 60 second posting cooldown. Fuck, I still remember when 4chan X suddenly broke in the middle of my story time thread when faggot implemented this shit. That's the main reason why they started to die off.
Once anon was dumping all 3 volumes of Oyaji for straight 7 or so hours with short breaks. That was really awesome, but we won't see this anyore unless OP has a jewpass.
That's sad. Around 95% of links around the web are fucked off by DMCA already.
I decided to archive some complete magazine scans yesterday, but it was nothing but pain and suffering to obtain them. And in the end, it didn't even worth is since everything I got was speedscans without any bonus pages and even the cover.
I was mostly referring to complete magazine scans. Raw-zip and rawcs are updating their links once new volume is out.
Both PD and Share don't want to work on my ISP, unfortunately.
Well, that one anon has been doing storytime like every other day for the past year, i'd say he got his $10 worth (pass has been on sale a few times)
Unfortunately if you want guaranteed complete scans for a magazine you might have to buy it yourself or ask someone else to scan it
Anyone interested in working on Joshi Kausei? It's a free web manga that Crunchy decided to jew, so the current scanlator dropped it. Web raws, 2150px png, very little text to translate and it looks easy to edit.
>or ask someone else to scan it
Haha, yeah, like there'll be someone who'd willingly and properly scan ~800 pages of shit paper monthly.
Hell knows when I'll learn moon good enough, so for now it's beggars can't be choosers.
It rips everything as it comes out. Every hour. It even was sneaky enough to get Onikirimaru before it got paylocked not long after. I just wrote some php that runs on a free server.
>People tell me to read 1/11.
I've heard good things too, it's on my backlog.
It sounds more like classical sports drama. Nothing against this, but I've read a lot of that stuff already.
Not that guy, but it looks like it. Onikirimaru rips are up there.
Is there a download manager that works with the FTP? I don't want to download 500 files at once, I just don't want to click on links for an hour.
Yeah, I didn't want to put it anywhere else otherwise the directories might move around or something. Just don't want it to break randomly cause setting everything up is a pain.
I just came across android device, and the app stores all images out in the open, but they're encrypted. Wondered if there's an easy way to decrypt them.
If there's no easy way, then I guess I'll continue using you ripper.
Looks like a different encryption scheme than the online reader. It looks doable, and it might give better images even, but I probably won't have time to work on it for a while.
The file's already given me more than enough info. It looks practically the same as the online reader, except they've applied one extra step on top I think. It's more a matter of breaking apart the android app to see how it applies the encryption.
meh started Reading through I am a Hero because i've heard High Reviews and the series is pretty great so far
in addition i've started picking up on some LN's finally because i don't want to wait a month to actually get places with RE:Monster and things like that, but i'm also keeping up with the manga forms of those as well.
>What'cha waiting on?
The rest of Boys on the Run
>2 new chapters in like July
>Daniels site has been down for like a month
>Still isn't back
>Not even his twitter has anything on it since July
mcfucking kill me
I just read Scientia by Toda Seiji. Nice collection of short stories. The character designs remind me of another mangaka, but I can't place who. Toyoda Tetsuya maybe?
Finally got round to the latest chapter of I Am a Hero
; what the fuck is going on with all these strange zombie variants?
I finished SZS last night, took my time with it and somehow avoided spoilers as much as I could. The OPs make so much fucking sense now. There was a lot of fluff in the 30 volumes but it was an overall nice read.
Catching up on Voynich Hotel right now
anyone got something they generally recommend to read? Troll rec or notMost of the things in my backlog are looking every unappealing as of now.
Rule of thumb, check the thread and see if there's anything that interests you.
Got to love farming manga. Too bad there isn't more. What have we got? Gin no Saji, Moyashimon, Vinland. There was Nasu.
It especially kills me for some of the artists from ages ago. Some of the old gekiga guys. Wish someone would finish more of Tsuge's works and finish Munou no Hito. And I wish there was some more Susumu Katsumata. At least Red Snow was scanned.
Habanero Scans, but they already have a long list of stuff that was requested so you might have to be willing to pay for it yourself ($6~ or so) via Paypal. He scans it for free though.
Jesus, are we back finally? Flood of traffic/DDoS has gotten bad. Gone for 20+ minutes.
A manga thread that hasn't already 404'd by the time I reach it.
I've been reading Sangokushi, about to start watching the 2010 series. I'm guessing Ravages of Time is the only other series that has scanlations.
Anyone reading Bakuon? Cute girls on motorcycles.
Catching up with the latest chapter of UDDUP. I just wish it could end. I remember loving the heck out of this series, but it's just been going for so long now. Really kills the excitement.
Yasashii Sekai no Tsukurikata. Stupid lovey-dovey shit. It's awesome.
What'cha waiting on?
More Yasashii Sekai no Tsukurikata.
What are you hoping gets scanlated?
I'm on a YSnT binge right now.
This manga doesn't seem to have too many followers. Anyone else reading/read it?
>doesn't seem to have many followers
Are you kidding me? It's like in the top 100 most read series on MU and other manga reading sites surprisingly. I found it on /a/ and there are threads for the new chapters every so often.
Well apparently I was wrong. Good to know there are other people out there with good taste.
I don't know who I want to win all the girls are so perfect I can't fucking decide, but I know it's most likely going to be Aoi.
Would you be able to get the links for chapters 2-4 of this?
The URLs don't look like you can simply replace the chapter number to access hidden chapters.
Will do. The traffic on /a/ is pretty killer right now.
I don't really mind who wins either. Although I didn't really like sensei, I think I'm somewhat over that now.
Finished Fukuyadou Honpo, i was a lot better than i expected, it's not melodramatic at all, and the characters were fantastic.
Started reading gantz today and so far so good.
Is the ending really as bad as they make it out to be?
I suspected that, but the first chapter is blade140430_shimo.
Unless that can somehow translate into a date. The consecutive chapters might follow the same format as the fifth chapter, though.
it goes off the rails but i still fracking loved the ending, so much cool stuff happens.
Began reading Ookiku Furikabutte, i'm really liking the character, but wish the art was better, is even hard to distinguish characters due same face.
There was this one manga i was reading way long ago. It was basically about some dude who was re incarnated from some super mage who disappeared. And he had this hot bitch lusting after at what she thought was the super mage, only to find its MC. Basically i dropped it because apparently there was no hope of it ever getting more scans because of licensing or some shit.
You might get better results trying to break apart the android app. They generally don't expect people to open them up. And even if they do, it doesn't really stop anyone dedicated.
the second i finish typing this out, i find exactly which manga ive been looking for after searching for 3 years+.
How many of you read on a tablet?
My manga reading has increase 10 fold since.
It's worth buying a $100 tablet for a dedicated manga reader. Also nice for fapping in bed and shitposting on /a/.
Just finished up with?koharu no hibi.
Is there any other manga with particularly clingy main girls?
I don't mean yandere, just main girls who are very open about their love and get jealous and clingy easily.
I'm so lonely.
I might finally read Buraiden Gai.
I've been dying for new Akagi or Kaiji chapters though.
We had a pretty good thread a week or so ago.
No. Do not listen to >>113126956
Kissmanga is normally ok, same with Batoto.
However i suggest either downloading them, or reading them directly from the group whos scannings site.
This didn't actually happen.
Gantz is fucking amazing. It's the only manga I've read that has actually made me sweat and made my heart beat faster to tense moments.
Catching up on Liar Game but losing interest in it really quickly.
Tsukoyote New Saga has a very neat premise but could potentially get really boring if the story is just that though.
>What'cha waiting on?
Jitsu Watashi Wa
>What are you hoping gets scanlated?
Amaama to Inazuma, because I love me some single dad manga
Takahashi-san ga Kiite Iru. Seems like hijinks in form similar to Tonari no Seki. Could be funny or shitty.
I don't know, I'm not murrican, I already have everything he published, I'm the italianfag who translated A Joyful Bell, a story of World Apartment Horror.
Fuck, this only reminds me that I still have t translate the rest of it. It's just that seeing the low traffic the thread had my motivation was gone. Why the fuck are people not interested in Kon? It was even an heartwarming short story with a loli, what's more to ask for?
Seriously, fuck /a/.
It was. It's somewhere in the archive. To be fair, there's a lot of 2 pass translations that people don't even know about. Still probably better than those with the worst Japanese.
>better not reading it at all
So you don't read half the scanlated manga as well since they are translated from the french edition or german? Take Dragon Head, for example.
>Was that ever typeset, anyway?
Cool. Upload it to Batoto and rehost it on some blog, get it more attention and motivation for the rest of the translations. I could've sworn that Vertical published it, but I guess not.
Just finished Nozoki Ana.
The ending seemed a bit rushed, and I didn't like it much, but otherwise it was alright.
And call me a faggot, but I thought there was way too much sex in it.
Also consider that in this case I had two italian sources to refer to so the meaning should have been preserved.
I don't think it's possible since it's only a part of a volume.
We have those problems in Italy too. I could go on for an hour about the bullshit we had/have to suffer.
This is probably a good thread to ask:
I am thinking about finishing The World is Mine. The plan is to buy the French volumes, translate them and use jap raws for the scanlation. So far I've obtained raws for all volumes and I am planning on ordering the untranslated in English volumes from Amazon.fr. I am looking for a skilled typesetter who is willing to do all 4 volumes by himself. I am going to do all editing and whatnot, so it's really just placing text in bubbles.
It's piss easy for anyone skilled, especially with the help of tools like Typesetter and Photoshop actions. I'd do it myself but it's tedious and time-consuming, and I just can't be arsed. In the end, I will just take my time and release all four volumes for Christmas.
ebookjapan. Raw would be around 1200~1600 high at least, and not every manga are on the site yet. Tell me the name and i could at least search it.
Kindle raws kind of suck.it is usually around 1200,like this one.
How are you ripping them?
Kindle images in English are pretty reasonable. Although they're a bit variable. Sometimes they have like 99% jpeg, other times like 80 or worse. Older volumes at worst are like this size. They have 1400px wide sometimes. Kobo is about the same. Sometimes slightly better, but very bizarre leveling sometimes, although easily fixed.
Nice,it is on discount, and the resolution is ok too. i might can get that.
I had asked gvim to add support for the site since the other one wasn't too good.It aslo fixed the niconico webcomic issue:
amazon support=kindle i guess, that since most of the digital manga sold on amazon are on ebookjapan too there wasn't quite a good point for that site yet.
Allmost forgot, that imai kami artbook is on the ftp now,go grap them if you like!
Once between a blackout a flooding and many failed captchas I remained 8 hours to post what seemed like a short story within 2 threads...worth it but I dont think I'll ever do it again.
Is this the one? I had found sequel too however it is quite expensive for me
Aslo, the resolution is even worse as it is only around 1024 height.
Thanks for recommendation but i didn't think i will like it.
Taken from Mangafox:
>Rank: 12th, it has 5,752,682 monthly views.
So well there. Actually more popular than I was expecting. I think it's cause Mangafox blocked a whole bunch of manga so it managed to get to the top.
I swear this is getting annoying. Why are you correcting your spelling when everyone already understands the faulty sentence?
Spend more time checking your spelling or stop correcting after your post.
Since 4dawgz is now dead I guess the same applies to Gisèle Alain, which is a shame. Anyone who knows how to contact the translator (salsk I think) or wants to translate it, I'm willing to do the edits.
Just learn Italian.
Is it good? Might read the scanlation.
If I was learning a language to read stuff, it'd probably be Chinese.
I actually do it sometimes to bump a thread. But yeah, mostly I do it when it's like 3AM and it's gibberish.
Art is good but what about the story? Is it interesting? That's the most important part.
Because I still have to read things like Aria, YKK,
Yotsubaetc. and I'd read those before Gisele Alain if it's a sol.
But Italian is a nice language, you could read Dante, Petrarca, Boccaccio, Leopardi, Machiavelli. And all the released manga.
Depends on your priorities, I guess.
Thank god. I was getting nowhere trying to update it myself by adding the new domain name and messing with the settings.
Are there any other scripts/apps that prefetches images like that? I need a backup plan in case such a disaster occurs again.
It's SoL but it's also way more eventful than Aria and the likes. It is relaxing at times but also has its plenty share of drama and romance even. Gisele is a really likeable MC.
Thanks. I can see how it's similar. It's more like kissmanga instead of webcomic reader in that it appends the next image to the bottom instead of pre-buffering them for instant transition.
I'll remember this for future disasters.
Went on a horror binge last night and am currently on volume 4 of this. Enjoying it so far.
Yeah, DH is fucking good. Too bad for the translation and the scans.
Read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and watch Apocalypse Now if you like it, it seems to me that Mochizuki took great inspiration from those.
The advantage is that it's just generic. It auto-pagerizes lots of things and so breaking it should be unlikely. Ideal backup probably. I remember using it years ago.
Some people really don't like the end. I thought it was alright, although it's really out there.
I think my favourite from him is still Samehada-Otoko to Momojiri-Onna. Zashiki Onna just lacked something.
Wow,found a good one.Anyone wan low res raw of this one?
Same artist of Tsugumomo.
I got so far out of loop with this one. /a/ never really talks about it. Shame considering it's such a good read. At least up to the point I got to. Ended up dropping it after the scans came in in whole volumes. I need to reread it just to understand all the crazy shit going on.
I recently got around to reading mangas and giving anime a break. Thought it would be more tedious than enjoyable but fuck I was wrong. Sorry to be that guy but shit do I have to download chapters individually or am I just fucking up? If thats the case reading them online seems better at least until caught up, no?
Honestly, just do whatever convenient. Since Mangatraders went down, there's not really a general purpose low-barrier site anymore. Which also managed to repackage a whole lot of manga into volumes over the years.
BakaBT is generally reasonable for completed series, but yeah, ongoing ones just won't be there mostly. I always find that catching up is always better when it's downloaded cause of page lag and unreliable servers.
There's FMD and other online reader rippers, I haven't used any of them in ages and last time I checked FMD was broken for a lot of people.
Amazon Japan Kindle stuff is region locked in that you can't buy it without the right IP address. Certain other ones are too (Bookwalker?) or they won't take non-Japanese credit cards.
What's fine: ebookjapan, papyless, neowing, honto
I could just as easily switch to American even though I like halfway around the world. Seems a little odd. I mean, what qualifies as a Japanese credit card anyways? How do they tell? I generally just use prepay cards.
Re-reading hidden gems cause there's nothing else to read.
Waiting on pic related.
(2324d ago) ;_;
Can't into moon (unless it's korean) nor interested in raws so no scanlation hopes.
Does anyone know the name of the manga, where it's about this guy who loves his little sister? He's like a construction worker of some sort.
Ever since MangaTraders went down, I didn't get to track it down.
This looked pretty promising for a first chapter.
I don't know why this isn't more popular, seems like something /a/ would be all over normally.
>5 different groups working on Tokyo Ghoul at the same time
>no groups working on manga that I want to read
That's what I meant, lots of manga gets released in Korean, so I was asking whether you already looked for Korean translation if you can read it.
It's Momoiro Meloik. Thailand seems to be pretty chill place if it got an official release there.
I'm currently reading the last volume of Tomorrow's Joe.
I really need to learn to stop reading manga adaptations of LNs.
They always die after 2 or so arcs.
There were even Metal Gear Rays.
Air Gear and I'm fucking lost, man. This isn't what I signed up for.
>What'cha waiting on?
Re:Monster and One Punch Man to fucking update. And Dungeon ni Deai to update too, once in s blue moon.
>What are you hoping gets scanlated?
I have no clue, man. I just read shit that comes my way every now and again.
As a side note, why the fuck is batoto so fucking slow lately?
I'm trying to read Mahou Tsukai no Yome but something about it bugs me.
The premise and characters are interesting, but it's just not enjoyable to read at all. The translation is rather bad, so it's a bit hard to tell, but the way mangaka goes about telling the story isn't working for me at all. The dialogue seems stiff - and it goes beyond just bad translation, since the very flow of conversation seems broken and mechanical - and the pacing leaves a lot to be desired.
Well, at least Chise is extremely cute.
If it was just a bad manga, I wouldn't really care, but it has a lot of potential, that's so far sadly left unrealized.
I picked it up recently too, it seems like Tonari no Seki-kun but actually good, but I didn't want to bring it up since like
said, I'd feel bad mentioning a series that only just started. Same with the other series Ciel Scans translated with 3 chapters out, Hayachine - it's also good, but since the group doesn't exactly have a good track record when it comes to keeping a steady pace of releases, I didn't want to bring it up until more chapters are out.
Maybe he needed the money and pursued projects that paid the bills. Who knows? Maybe years from now when he's financially stable, he'll pick up where he lift off and finish the damn thing. I'll bet he probably doesn't even realize how big of a thing he potentially had with that series.
Hideshi Hino, Maruo, Kago, Umezu.
Obligatory Usamaru Furuya and Nishioka Kyoudai for weirdness.
Started as a doujinshi. He's finishing it as one as well. CR is apparently publishing one of his series which is a redraw of one of his old ones.
Just finished Saikyou Densetsu Kurosawa.
What's another good manga on the nature of MAN.
Finished all the /m/ classics, so I'm looking for non-/m/ related I guess.
Today I read Scumbag Loser up to where it hasn't been translated, I don't know if I'd call it good but it was definitely interesting enough to keep reading. The bit with the crazy female otaku was really outrageous.
When I got home from work I also found the eighth volume of After School Nightmare with the mail, so I'll have to read that one. I have rest of the series but this volume was difficult to find.
If you use a prepay card, you could just as easily falsify the address. It's probably tied to something else.
I'm pushing CR stuff as it comes in. The admin is autouploading from Batoto and stuff. Although I'm not sure how good it is.
Notice the difference: Korea cares enough to get noticed. Case in point: K-pop. Naver webtoons? Official English site now.
What does China want to do? Be as secretive as possible. Hoarding talent, resources e.g. rare minerals, withholding news.
I would have never learned about Yousuke Takahashi if someone didn't dump The Time Milk Wound the Spring on /a/ a few years ago. I get a bit distressed when I think of all the potentially great artists from the 80's onward that I have no knowledge of, and I can't find via stumbling through MangaUpdates. I wish someone had the money to buy and scan all of Garo / AX's issues. Countless artists and oneshots.
You could ask TSOJ about it or at least see his blog. He scanned some of them, although somewhat poorly. He replied to an email of mine not that long ago when I said some scans were missing in his folder.
There's at least some of the collection issues probably that would be interesting to scan.
I have the full collection of the scans at least. Including some of the missing pages not on the MF folder.
Picked one at random. And huh? It's some Shigeru Mizuki.
The MF folder isn't actually complete. He sent me a link that's hidden, which I should probably rehost myself. Don't want to necessarily waste his bandwidth.
The scan quality is pretty mixed. They're roughly the same size as that page above. Although the edges are somewhat cropped, so the width isn't quite so bad. I wonder what dimensions they actually are.
Do they look debinded? I wonder if he'd be willing to offer better scans. I don't want to ask him about debinding his rare issues though. I guess someone should go ahead and ask if he'd let someone else scan his issues and then return them.
i just finished the first volume of Battle Angel Alita and it was pretty boring. I hear it gets better though, is that true? Is it worth continuing if I didn't like the 1st volume?
That's a good question. They look a bit smaller than present day mags but it's hard to tell without a comparison.
What? people actually read that shit?
What wrong you don't like this masterpiece?
Yes it is. #1 on Mangaupdates in popularity (for a 6 month time span), The Gamer. Before that, it was Tower of God.
#1 on Mangafox currently, Noblesse. Previously, ToG and probably The Gamer.
Do you think I wasn't talking about the internet? Do you think I'm retarded enough to claim it anywhere else?
Also Girls of the Wild has been around number 1 before.
It's even less relevant than mangaupdates, so it doesn't warrant mentioning.
> Do you think I'm retarded enough to claim it anywhere else?
...yes, obviously? This is /a/, after all.
>The Gamer, Tower of God,Noblesse,Girls of the Wild
All are shit, what the fuck man?
Oh wow, this thread is still up.
Their english version of Annarasumanara has some of the most retarded localizations and shitty shoops.
Yeah, I should eventually get around to that, but I'd probably need to pair up with a good dedicated group for that since it needs a fair amount of redraws for decent-looking scans.
Two days yes.
>most retarded localizations
I can imagine. It was physically published wasn't it? I wonder if they're ever going to try market webtoons physically. God that sounds disgusting.
>the chart of the most frequented site for reading manga isn't relevant to indicate if weebtoons are less or more popular than other comics
Holy shit, I want to punch you in the face so bad.
I don't think webtoons have enough of a presence yet in the West to market physical copies. If they were smart about making readily available free scans of their most popular series, then I could see it happening within 2-3 years, but I doubt it with their poor showing so far.
Some of the ones which just do light-hearted 4koma-esque comedies are pretty funny. I don't think any of them get translated though.
No, I'm the poor faggot that keeps asking for them since months, sorry.
But I wouldn't mind reading other stuff too.
If everything goes well, in a couple of hours I'll finally lay my hand on this gem right here >>113094547.
I think illuminati-manga had Lady Snowblood gaiden raws which I might end up helping them with next year if they haven't found a translator for it by then.
>Graduated from the University of Tokyo with a history major and specializes in Turkish history
This makes me smile like a retard and it's exactly why I love nips so much.
Comic artists with an actual background? How does that compare to westerners anyways?
Itou being a dentist. Taiyou Matsumoto being a pro athlete or something just as absurd. Furuya being an actual artist. Tezuka being a doctor. It's interesting.
I wish there were more stuff in the popular media about Turkish history.
Yasu Hirasawa (Kingdom) used to be a systems engineer before switching career.
One thing is having a background, another is specializing in Turkish history and then drawing fiction inspired to Turkish history like that.
Can you find any parallel? Normally you would expect the art to be amateurish, simplified, stylized etc. Take the other artists you cited.
I'm the Italian guy of this other post, actually. >>113184218
Furuya, right? I remember reading something in his commentary of Ningen Shikkaku.
He look exactly like Peco.
He certainly doesn't look like one.
>Normally you would expect the art to be amateurish, simplified, stylized etc.
It is pretty crazy. But then again, that's what happens. Fucking Shigeru Mizuki did it with the wrong hand. As brutal as the profession is, kids still want to be mangaka.
I read I'll give it my all tomorrow recently. That was just way too depressing. It's a odd mentality.
Was supposed to read that recently.
