I think they are both good in their own ways. I think the reason that the Dub is good is because they have put some effort into making the character's voices fit properly rather than just getting random english speakers to voice them. Dandy's English voice really suits him and I think a couple of times the minor script changes in the English version are nice (like the narrator going "he wants to be a rockstar, how original").

It's the kind of episode I would usually hate but the comedy elements were sufficiently decent enough to make up for the musical numbers (I've never enjoyed musical numbers in anything for as long as I can remember).

I wasn't a big fan of either episode 3 or 5. 3 had some really amazing animation though, but I think I didn't like it because I think Daisuke Namikawa is shit most of the time.

Every episode is plot, you just need to look hard enough. But you cant really connect threads until season 2, as the first episode is entirely about that. 'Cosmic strings' which are invisible usually and link everything together. Several episodes of season 1 tie into season 2 and can be considered having plot as a result.

Half the point of space dandy is that time and space aren't Linear, so the show itself isn't.
