Chapters that aren't on BT yet:

Someone should ask Vanant if he plans on actually doing the chapters he's registered for. >>112560000 >>112558251
If he unregisters I have a feeling onii-sama anon might be able to close the gap in chapters that prevents most of us from continuing to read.
>I'm just doing whatever I feel like. That likely includes volume 20. I'll stop when we get to a boring chapter (or when RL throws me into a pit of spikey assignments).
>However, I won't be allowing uploads to BT proper, so someone else can do the TL for BT. As for why, it's because I'm petty. I've stopped actually being upset about the Deadgye thing (it wasn't a huge deal), but that doesn't mean I've stopped hating him, so I'll be doing petty things like this for a bit longer.
>by Dormouse (aka Vanant) Today, 04:01
>Thanks Vanant, and I'll also make sure to check any vol.20 scripts to make sure it's not a copy of your.

>yfw Mushoku Tensei is causing the rise of machine translations
There's been a lot of drama about machine translations becoming acceptable on BT. It seems a lot of translators are absconding and taking their projects to their own websites. What does /a/ make of this?

As long as the machine translations are adequate enough and listed as a preview, there isn't a problem. However in a lot of cases they're not listed as previews, see volumes 18 and 19.
>can't really do shit about it unless someone else promises to do Vol 14.
We could ask CN anon nicely to do 139 and 142 since it seems Vanant hasn't even started those. And then maybe we could ask him to do 138 and 141 as well since Vanant is being a bitch.
>"Succeeded in ancient magic but hand was lost in reaction."
Adding on to this:
>I report to those that helped how I lost to Orsted and joined his camp.
>By the way, Peruguis seemed the most relieved out of everyone.
>Heh, I guess nobody really want to make enemy out of someone like him.
So I started reading Arifureta after it was recommended here
And I liked it a lot better, you can feel the character progressions and "training arcs", with real adversaries and battles. Definitely have a greater RPG feeling to it
Anything else similar I should look into?
Just hit volume 13 earlier this day. Does it take long for BT to get chapters up?
Should I wait till the missing chapters go on BT, or just continue right this secondness reading from the pastebins?
dammit, sylphy a best wife.
I am reading it too while I work on
IXand not translating MT.Right now I am on Vol. 3 Ch. 10.
It's better than Re:Monster, but again falls into cliche developments really really quick.
Another 17 year old boy, who is regarded as an underdog, suddenly managed through good fortune to get his hands on power similar to Re:Monster MC's [Absorption].
He's more or less over-powered by the time he gets out of the Orcus dungeon, which makes for very boring fights.
I don't hate MC's "I don't give a fuck" attitude, but I find it terribly shallow and an overused element.
It'd be better if the author could stop comparing only two viewpoints: MC's naivete vs MC's indifference.
If his goal is to get home, putting aside Yue, he should be manipulating the bunny girl to do so.
I have a feeling MC is going to end up being the last boss of the series and Kouki actually ends up the hero the world deserves.
Think about what Kouki suffers through, he's the perfect candidate of a hero.
In the eyes of humanity at least he's the demon that's trying to rip the gods from power, the humans and demons are going to unite to try to kill him.
They're all going to fail
Does he still want to return to Japan later on? Makes no sense to me why he want to forfeit his current power just to go back to his pathetic old self.
and potentially loss his waifus in the process.
Reading Vol. 4 now.
Seriously, the whole section of Hajime training the Haulia is ripped straight from FMP Fumoffu.
Please. Even though Fumoffu may not be the first, Arifureta draws way too much parallelism for that to be a chance.
“Hear me! Everyone from Haulia tribe! Every one of you brave and resolute warriors! Today, you’re graduated from being shitty maggots! You are no longer the worthless existence to be weeded out! Crush unjustness with power, hold down those hostilities with wisdom! O strongest warriors! Teach those bears “bleep” for inciting our resentment by bringing us to our current situation! Those guys are nothing but redundant stepping stones! They are only “bleep”! Build mountains with their corpses, and rivers with their blood, as proof! The proof of your rebirth! The proof to everyone in the Sea of Trees, to show that the Haulia tribe is reborn!”
“””””””””” Sir, yes, Sir!!””””””””””
“Answer me! Everyone! The greatest and strongest warriors! What is it that you wish for!”
“””””””””” Kill them!! Kill them! Kill them!!””””””””””
“What is your specialty!”
“””””””””” Kill!! Kill!! Kill!!””””””””””
“If there are enemies what will you do!”
“””””””””” Kill them all!! Kill them all!! Kill them all!!””””””””””
“That’s right! Kill them all! You can do it! Take the right to live with your own hands!”
“””””””””” Aye, aye, Sir!!””””””””””
“That’s the spirit! Everyone of the Haulia tribe! I only have one order! Search & destroy! Go!!”
Here's the Fumoffu equivalent:
His plan is to return to Japan but he wouldn't be forfeiting his power or anything. Hell he even made a promise to one day let his kind of adopted daughter come visit Japan. I mean if he gets the power to travel home, he has to power to travel between the two worlds basically.
probably about the size of this turtle.
I like Ark but it really has a problem with Korean nationalism.
Like that he doesn't have an underdog class or anything like that since way too many mmo series have the characters act like underdogs when they can stomp everyone's teeth in, instead he gets the best solo dungeoneering class in the game.
Still like LMS more though since his real world to video game skillset is way better done
Reading LMS and at volume 17 right now, also read Arifureta up to the point it gets retard and the author has no general outline of what he wants to write all while waiting for more Mushoku. What have the /a/nons been recommending recently on the threads I missed?
That's why people call MuTen a wish-fulfillment self-inserting shit even though it's actually a wish-fulfillment self-inserting good novel with well made characters and great development all around, to the point you can read 15 volumes and still be waiting for the next one as if you only got the premise now.
not him but I was pretty disappointed with Mujaki no Rakuen because it is purely just loli sex. Where's the skipping grades or investing stocks in Google or something? Though I don't imagine that sort of story would stay interesting very long without some silly twist like avoiding some murder.
in my delusions. i wouldn't go so far you could correctly call it brainwashing. Rudy took it to extremes (plotting a kidnap, ulterior motives with Sylphie)
But I think Sylphie would end up being too dependent even if Rudy wasn't trying.
Still, how would you tame Eris without the whole kidnapping thing? I guess lure her with Ghislaine's story?
>Still, how would you tame Eris without the whole kidnapping thing? I guess lure her with Ghislaine's story?
really the kidnapping incident didn't work as well as the Ghisline stories. It was the dance scene that made Eris go full dere though.
No Japtem is hosting it, just ignore the "volumes". They're just something Japtem did out of stupidity. The story is broken up into parts. Part 1 was the first 25 chapters or so.
Not really. Myuu calls Hajime Papa, but all the harem "onee-chan". Then there are issues later because Myuu thinks that "Papa" should get together with "Mama" aka her actual mom.
After the reunion and parting with Aiko and group they go to this one town, think they're gathering information. Hajime goes on a date with Shia, well Yue gave it the ok, and the two of them eventually run into Myuu. Think she's being chased and they save her.
Myuu is like a 4-5 year mermaid girl. They protect her for a bit but she gets grabbed by the slaver group that operates in that town. Hajime and harem then proceed to basically destroy all the group's hideouts and their private auction rescuing her. She then sort of gets a free ride home with the group, though they stop along the way to rescue the "Heroes" in the Orcus dungeon and a few other things.
I like how upfront Hajime is about it.
He told Kaori straight that he is never going to feel that way about her so if she's only coming along to try to get with him then she might as well not come.
Barely few novels are mostly translated. Some LN best sellers aren't even picked up yet
That being said, To aru no index is pretty good as long as you just skip any part where the author got too preachy.
You mean as in like, infodumping? Because if that's it I don't mind, infodumping is cool as long as it coherent with the previous information. One of the reasons I got bored with LMS is because there are continuation errors as well as characters acting certain ways that don't fit their personality just so the story makes sense.
Partially info dumping, partially Touma being a huge moralfag.
That being said, I immensely enjoyed vol 1-14 and some parts of world of 3. Most of early NT (second season) are just massive info dumps that bores me to tears or influx of character perspectives that gets confusing.
I don't think anything explained yet has conflicted with any past information. In fact even now stuff is coming together to make sense of stuff we previously couldn't make sense of.
Not counting some of the side stories, there's 34 full volumes out and translated.
She's decently useful but she feels useless especially when Yue figures out barrier magic from watching her since Yue is such a magic genius.
She requested a better body after what happened at the end of part 4. So Hajime moved her soul to the body of the Apostle of God that he had killed in a fight a few chapters back. So now Kaori has magic manipulation like the rest of the group and also got a huge stat gain. Her actual body is on ice and stored in the treasure ring.
Someone should just register the chapters and then start putting them on there. I'm 90% sure the only "drama" was that the person who put them up before didn't bother to register on the chapter registration page. I don't see any reason they'd reject them if they were registered and it'd be much more convenient for everyone if they were on BT.
Doesn't even have to necessarily be the translator to do this, anyone can register them and copy/paste them to there. Just mark it as a preview and say you're editing it if you want.
No, it's not about translation errors. There are a lot of reasons LMS got boring though.
Grinding became pointless, he stopped getting new skills and you can't even know his damage because the author simply says shit like "this attack does % more than the previous" or "this attack was enough to one shot this monster, while on that monster it didn't even make it flinch".
He falls behind in levels to accomplish quests above his capabilities by summoning creatures that are dumb as hell, he's greedy as fuck but doesn't know how to use his fame/infamy as WarGod to get money, he is supposedly someone who hated parties but 90% of the time he acts with other people around, so on and so forth.
For each line of actual text there are four lines describing how greedy he is and how everybody else thinks he's nota for some reason. Yet these same people that condemn him for being greedy and thinking everybody else is being fooled get fooled by him again time and time again.
Then when he makes an amazing sculpture he asks 1 copper for it and doesn't even name it. He also for some reason thinks that someone feeding him food when he is sick is trying to kill him, and when that person saves his life and speaks for the first time she is actually deceiving him "to make sure she doesn't drop a leather piece of armor"
Then after he wins a war from people trying to fuck his city he doesn't want anything on the negotiation and liberates all prisoners for free.
He literally slaps every opportunity he has to make money away from him unless he has no choice but to make it. "Oh but he is using his left hand to collect loot". Big shit.
>Then after he wins a war from people trying to fuck his city he doesn't want anything on the negotiation and liberates all prisoners for free.
Wasn't that pointed out that instead that will make him a lot more profit in the long run.
He would get more and in short-term if he didn't release them for free. In fact, because of how many prisoners he had and how unstable the forces of the north were after getting buttraped he could just raid their cities and become the lord of all the north of the versailles continent.
Except he ended up with a ton of people indebted to him and Morata ended up just becoming even more the central capital of the north anyway.
He would only make more in the short term, which is a stupid way to think.
No. He would make more in both short-term and long term if he didn't just extend his influence as the lord of the capital but as the lord of the whole region.
And they weren't indebted, the only thing he got from them was a pact of non-aggression from their parts and a contract of selling culture-advisers to them. He could either get their lands or get money from them, he decided to get neither. Just because the author uses another user to try and justify his actions doesn't mean shit. The fact that he uses sculpture life bestowal instead of sculpture destruction is already tells the tale that the author has no intention of letting Weed get too powerful. He makes him lose tons of art stat, fame and levels when he could just destroy a masterpiece and be as strong as all his creatures combined.
Also, the spirits are basically useless. The fact that he extended the contract with the Church of Freya despite not knowing of the threat from the other kingdoms using all his points that he would otherwise spend wisely going on a trip he had no idea would take 23 days to come back isn't just luck either, it's the author putting everything into place conveniently, which is basically gary stu syndrome where the world revolves around the MC.
>If Roxy says something like "I want to ride in a Porsche. A Cayenne." then I'll buy it for her. Though recently, Roxy's been riding an armadillo to and from school, so it's not like we need a ride.
nigga that's hella kawaii
Lord of the north of a barren wasteland. He doesn't even have enough money to develop Morata fully. Alternatively, he could help out the other towns to establish a trade network where he wouldn't have to develop the other areas, while reaping profits from the trade. Most of the profit to be made is from the taxes.
What do you think is more profitable? Getting a ransom and taking over the desolate towns. Or letting them keep their towns, helping them out and letting them spend their own money to improve it, and establishing a trade network?
Destruction is only one day in-game buff.
yeah, the other guilds were vomitting money to pay for those towns
if weed takes over them, he will have no money to pay for upkeep while earning enmity from pretty big people.
"Atofe-sama was really looking forward to that wine and got really angry. She order the private guard from our home country here to investigate and capture her. We don't know how Kishirika looks like, so she gave us this portrait, and have been searching for her ever since..."
>"So that's what happened, I understand."
>I cuffed Kishirika with magic myself.
I'll never understand sane people. I couldn't start something and then put it down for this long. Fuck, I even get angry if someone calls me or I get hungry when reading a book. Shit just having read the first bit of this chapter and not being able to finish it is killing me.
Literally fucking killing me as I wake up every hour to refresh the fucking page. I look like a crack fiend from lack of sleep; my boss asked me if I wanted to go home and rest today. I went home and refreshed the fucking page.
This is all my fault for allowing myself to start volumes before they were complete. Damn me.
Weeds tendency to rip people off and treat his summons like shit actually became quite endearing when he got really overpowered.
He doesn't even need to do it anymore it's just who he is.
>destruction is only one day buff
More than enough for a quest. If I remember right he gets 20x the art stat as strength and agility if he destroys a masterpiece, he loses some fame and stuff but doesn't lose levels. 20x the art stat = about 20.000 strenght and agility. Do you understand how OP that is now?
There is a ton of stupid shit on LMS, like for example how the author says that sculpture shapeshifting doesn't change the stats and the first time he uses it to transform to an orc his stats change.
>Roxy will never moist you over her slim shoulders like a sack of potatoes.
No, when he learned the shapeshifting skill he description said it didn't change stats, when he used the same skill with that description his stats changed. It's a continuation error.
About stats having diminishing return, if that's the case then he's the dumbest person on earth for putting every point he has in strength and agility don't you think?
i wish MT actually had a good mangaka
not sure if it's the fault of the mangaka or the publisher forcing them to rush it though, but it really is a disappointment like everyone else is saying
She sure is short. Considering how Rudy starts to look like Paul, must be a funny comparison of a couple.
She is a combination of a Sage, Christmas Cake and a Loli.
Later she gains the Loli MILF title
>mfw Mother of Learning
That actually turned out to be a pleasant surprise despite being "Grumpy Harry Potter and Spiders in a time loop."
I felt like there could have been more plot development throughout the first arc, but it all went towards world building and SoL instead.
He could've explored the world in his one month travels, learned new magic, fought actually enemies as well for experience and just fucked around to vent.
Not really, his mana reserves are shit. He can't cast all the good stuff more than once or twice then he's out and he's screwed. That's kind of why it's neat to see him go in other directions to fight compared to Zach.
Why do I find Ariel so unlikable?
Compared to other characters, she seems so incompetent. Seriously, she's so proud and yet she can't get anything done by herself. Hell, her only accomplishments are what other people give her.
She has a good eye for people, that's her only redeeming quality. Unfortunately, that only makes it look even more like shes incompetent considering she's full of great people on her side.
He could've still just learned "how" to use more combat magic spells and at least gained some experience in dealing with monsters if he went out to explore.
He could've also bit the bullet and chased for Zach and told him the truth so he'd get the most out of Zach as he taught him magic.
You've got a crazy ass hell buddy who knows his magic and could have helped you out in all your repeats, not using him was a waste.
I found it really cute when she quietly grumbled about how Rudi basically forgot to show his face to her when he came back from saving his mum.
If Rudi was looser when it came to women, it would have been interesting to see him say "fuck it" to wind and fuck around with the future queen.
I can imagine Orsted saying, "The fuck were you thinking? I doubt even the human god predict this would happen."
The translator took them down because he was tired of Baka-tsuki lowering it's standards and starting to allow what amounts to just straight machine translations on the site without any attempt at editing.
I know, but it's so aggravating. I mean, so far she's only really been able to recruit fodder by herself.
When it comes to anyone else who's higher up, it's literally all Rudeus, and that's only because she managed to make friends with Sylphy.
Now that I think about it, what on earth did she smoke to make her think it was a good idea to aim for the throne in the first place? Her cards were so weak in the beginning that she might as well have sent herself to be executed then and there.
In vol 17,
Orsted reveals that she was supposed to become Queen in the "original" timeline with the help of Derrick, the mage that died due to the Metastasis event. He was supposed to be the one who convinced Perugius to join her side. But without that guy, she wasn't able to convince Perugius.
I'd do the same thing myself if I was translating a novel too, I wouldn't mind them linking them to my site through the affiliates box, but I sure as hell wouldn't release anything on BT.
I don't know shit about their rules and whatnot but I bet there is some cocksuking and bias in a site as large as BT.
Count my ass out.
This is the list I've got.
There might be more.
Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari
Play to Live (Alterworld and The Clan)
Mother of Learning
Arifureta (for the first dungeon then it turns to shit)
Re:Monster (wish fulfillment to the max)
Barely / Shittily Translated:
Master of Monster
Slave harem in the Labyrinth of the Otherworld
Tsukuyote New Saga (has a manga)
World Customize Creator
Ore to Kawazu-san no Isekai Hourouki
To aru Ossan no VRMMO katsudouki
All this talk about Re:Monster and Arifureta made me curious about them. At this point I can't say I care too much about a series being harem wish-fullfilment material but I have to wonder: Are they entertaining? I'm talking about cool battles, witty plans, interesting plot-twists, decent drama instead of easy battles and pages and pages of magic manuals I don't care. Anyway, maybe I will pick up one of them while waiting for MT 136's
For Re:Monster, read the manga it's a lot better than the novel. Of course you're not going to have a ton of content but it tells the story a lot better.
Arifureta is alright. Personally I think it's fine through part 3, Part 4 I felt like way too much happened in such a short time.
Hajime and group complete 3 dungeons in like 15 chapters while also at the end fighting this big battle with the Church with the demons also getting involved. Just way too much stuff got breezed over there.
He asked her what quality is most suited for a King and she gave the wrong answer. Yet the answer reminded him of the Asura King he knew in the past so he decided to support her.
Something like that.
Retarded power level, best part is seeing how MC, the bane of all joke, surviving from his shit class and shit stats. But after the first dungeon, he basically laughed on stats, not like it matters much in the first place, with how vague the stats are. I mean despite having 5 digits of vitality, MC still need to dodge from every single attack instead of laughing at them and despite having 5 digits of magic, he can't use magic for shit
The author in Arifureta just makes it up as he goes along. It felt like he had a sort of definite idea of what he was doing with the story at the start but it sort of fades out a bit as the story goes.
Like the rest of the class
never manages to do anything and Hajime just ends up saving them twice and now in the most recent part the members of the class that are still alive are basically following behind him now. It feels like such a huge waste of even having the class around if only Hajime is ever going to do anything.
No, I'm sorry but that was a spoiler. On the original timeline she becomes Queen without Sylphy or Rudeus. In Sylphys place the one that is by her side is Eris.
We don't know that, she has a strong fate to become Queen.
>despite having 5 digits of magic, he can't use magic for shit
Magic in Arifureta has a lot to do with aptitudes, so no matter how high your stat is, if you don't have an aptitude for fire magic, then you're never really ever going to be able to cast fire magic. Hajime's only aptitude is in the alchemy / synthesis magic so that's all he can do.
Yue on the other hand is omni talented in magic, which is what makes
Kaori upset since Yue, once she figures out how to cast barrier magic, can cast barriers stronger than Kaori. Kaori has a huge inferiority complex compared to the rest of the group.
Shia gets more development compared to the other members of the group.
I thought it was cute that she was happy about being called a monster by the Demon guy, since she thought it meant she was finally closer to Hajime and Yue.
Let me put it this way, the powers the classmates get have a lot to do with their personalities. So
if a person has a power that would normally be considered an evil power, odds are they're actually evil. If you're not getting the hints, it's the necromancer girl, she's yandere as fuck for Kouki.
It doesn't. I'm not the one you've been quoting up until now, I'm only saying it because the chainquote leads to the post saying an anon doesn't understand why he can't like Ariel, and I'm just nitpicking by saying that she can actually do shit by herself, except not against Hitogami or OP people.
Charmander = Squirtle > Bulbasaur
You mean just wishing certain chapters would come out faster? I don't think anyone is bitching at them specifically to hurry up, just bitching in general that they wish it would hurry up. The only tl who seems to have thrown a hissy fit, was because another tl came along, did one that was taking him forever to do, and someone else put it up on baka.
For that Shield series, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, can someone give a couple details?
The synopsis only says
>Iwatani Naofumi was summoned into a parallel world along with 3 other people to become the world's Heroes. Each of the heroes were respectively equipped with their own legendary equipment when summoned. Naofumi coincidentally received the Legendary Shield as his weapon. Due to Naofumi's lack of charisma and experience, he ended up with only a single teammate while others have several. Unfortunately, on his third day Naofumi was betrayed, falsely accused, and robbed by the said teammate. Shunned by everyone from king to peasants, Naofumi's thoughts were filled with nothing but vengeance and hatred. Thus, his destiny in a parallel World begins...
Based on this info, did the MC also get robbed of that legendary shield as well? Is this one of those crafty revenge heroes, or hardwork/genius heroes?
It's not something I would go out of my way to recommend to others, but I don't regret reading it. The dialogue was pretty clunky at times since the author insists on info-dumping, but I can appreciate all the little bits of foreshadowing.
If you call this info-dumping you should read more book. This book is fucking light, all the information are too summarized and explained in an amateurish way that I thought I was reading a summary with bullet points explanation when the author tried to 'info-dump'.
All the long passage was mostly Rudy's narrative, which also mostly consist of him giving smart-ass comments.
Anyone interested in a translation of Knight & Magic LN?
It is already evening, the glaring sun is slowly setting beyond the horizon, the dark shadows expand its territory. The roads absorb lots of heat in the day, and is releasing it back into the air now. This will be another night that is too warm to sleep comfortably.
This is K city K district, a city where the above scene is commonplace.
The city station is surrounded by skyscrapers, hosting a myriad of companies. 'K software' situated on the 4th floor is a mid size software development company.
In the cool air-conditioned office, several men stares silently at their monitor screens. The atmosphere is intense. They are the employees of K software. For a mid size company, their daily workload is heavy, but the load today is extremely tedious today.
"We have 3 days left to complete it..."
A man sitting at one end of the office mumbles with a hint of despair. He is currently battling with a bomb that is moving towards explosion with every second, also known as a deadline. With the downturn of the national economy, the anxious sales team accepted the case grudgingly, even though the demands are unreasonable. Even during the planning stage, the project managed by him has few rooms for error. Repeated failures makes it even more perilous, the situation can only be described as 'hellish'. And there are even more pressing issues.
"Nakai section chief, Sato is down! He's not reacting even when we splash him with water!"
"Nakai section chief, we won't make it in time if we don't finish the program today."
"...Nakai-san, Takeda's desk has an resignation letter on it..."
"Ah-- Shut up! How can we meet the deadline with things like this--!"
The man who was pressed into a corner-- section chief Nakai received a string of bad news, finally breaking down. He hug his head and rest it on his table.
He knows there is no time to waste, but he can't finish the task and is short on manpower... The deadline is looming, but he can't find any solutions, pushing his psyche to the boiling point.
"What is it now!?"
He raised his head after hearing someone address him, a man with a gentle smile appears before his eyes.
"I have finished the case on my side, and is ready to assist you."
"Oh... Kurata... Are you fine joining in?"
The pain on Nakai's face was swept away, like a man who saw a ray of light in the midst of despair.
"I browsed through the specification manual and has gotten the gist of the situation. Can you let me handle the progress management?"
"Of... Of course, I might as well give you my password, you can flip through the management folders too. Take care of all that please."
"Eh, Nakai-san, I can't manage all that... Erm, the programming parts is holding back progress, let me settle this..."
The man speaking with Nakai-- Kurata Tsubasa, sat down on the chair prepared by a colleague and started working immediately. He type in codes on a word processer, read the progress reports while flipping through the specification manual as he gave instructions to the colleagues around him.
"Ensure the testing machine is operational, test analyst take this opportunity to rest. Erm, we will begin intensive testing after 12. For coding... Tatsu-san, can you complete 2 modules? Yes, I will do the other 10. Kiba, there are some weird parts in the specification manual, please amend it and resume testing."
He is 28 years old, considered the younger generation within the workplace, but no one is questioning his instructions. This is because of the track records he have built up after joining this company. After his recruitment, he instills life into the half dead workers who carry out his instructions quickly. Kurata has a unique nickname, since he is on the case, it means the ending of the job is in sight. Humans are realistic creatures, if they can see the ending, they can endure it no matter how tough it is.
"Alright, that should do it. I will start coding."
"Hey, Kurata, will you be fine? 10 modules... This is no laughing matter."
"Nakai-san, did you forgot? My actual duty is being a software engineer."
Kurata with his eyes half closed gives a fearless smile on his gentle face. He put his fingers on the keyboard, and all 10 fingers dance at a frightening speed. He type in codes on several word processors that is open on his screen, going through the data like a torrent. The matured man sitting opposite him -- Tatsu, throw himself into his work when he hear the amazing typing sound.
"As expected of the last line of defense for the company, he has been handling all the troubling cases so far... I have to keep up."
Everyone put their heart into their work, the sluggish battle improves dramatically.
The radio broadcast announce the time. The clock on the wall indicates it is 5:15pm -- time to get off work. According to company policy, working hours have ended, but Kurata simply stretch his back and rotate his tired shoulders.
He have been salvaging the case for 3 days. Today is the dreaded deadline, but the atmosphere is no longer dead like it was 3 days prior. The case was thought to be hopeless by everyone before, but it was rescued under his expert hands.
Thanks to him finishing the programming in one day, and the team members testing and recoding without rest, they managed to barely finish the product before the deadline. Although Kurata finished so much work in such a short amount of time, but he managed each part perfectly, a miraculous talent beyond comprehension. Sadly, his skills was outstanding because he was always handed the troubling cases.
After a series of battles, empty cans of coffee and energy drinks piled up like gravestones on his desk. Looking to his sides, he can see the warriors (test analyst) who finished the hard battle smiling peacefully, collapsing on the beds made out of chairs. Kurata has compressed his sleeping hours to the minimum, and he feels that it is time to rest up.
"Alright, the client acknowledge receipt of the product! We are done! Great news everyone, now we can rest easy!"
Kurata woke from his half asleep state and saw the elated Nakai in a victory pose. He thought about going home to rest, but decided to nap for a while. When he was ready to go home, it was already time for the last train.
Several days after the death march, the end of the month is here. Speaking of end of the month, people will think of -- that's right, the gospel of all working adults, payday.
Kurata turned off the computer and prepared to leave in a hurry. He was not alone. His colleagues also started to leave. Following popular trends, companies have cut down the working hours of office workers. Especially on payday, the company have the obligation to let their staff leave on time. Although it is an obligation, this rule is often overlooked when things get hectic. But compared to the hellish time they had just a few days before, it is much more relaxed now.
Today is a happy Friday. Some are rushing to meet their family, others are gathering with their friends, getting ready to splurge their salary. There are some who just want to rest at home, everybody is different, but for those getting their salary, the day they look forward to coinciding with the weekend makes them happy.
Kurata is the same too. Several colleagues who went through the death march gathered at his side.
"Kurata, want to get a drink? You were a big help, the first one is on me."
Nakai made a drinking gesture, with people related to the case such as Tatsu and Kiba stood behind him. Kurata was about to join them, but he remembered his planned schedule and hesitated.
"Ah-- Sorry Nakai-san, I have an engagement, maybe next time."
"Nakai-san, today is the day, Kurata's hobby..."
"Oh... That. Can't be helped, don't skip out next time."
Kurata watched the group leave, and heads toward his destination as well. The young, talented man known as the last line of defense, depended on by everyone in the company. His unique hobby was well known within the company.
On this weekend, the streets are humid in the summer heat, crowded with office workers knocking off work. The way to the station is jammed with people. After walking some distance away, the traffic gets smoother.
"Over. Time. Pay! Get!"
A man --which is Kurata yelled in front of the ATM. If he did that in front of a manned counter, he would probably be reported to the police for acting suspiciously.
His emotion stemmed from the cold figures displayed on the ATM screen. The case he handled are usually red alert and dangerous, his efforts are paid off in the form of overtime pay, so his savings increase steadily.
Kurata can't stop smiling, withdrew some cash and hurried towards his destination. His movement has no hesitation, a sign that he has gone through this route many times. A building appears in front of him shortly. That is a major electronics shopping center near the train station. On the 3rd floor is a huge toys department-- his goal.
A few hours later, a man left the toys department with the music that plays when the store is closing.
"As expected of the month end sale. This is great."
The man carried 2 full bags in each hand, doubled layered to prevent it from tearing. His backpack is also stuffed into a strange shape. His bags are filled with plastic models, in other words, he is a 'model nerd'.
"Cement, paint, tools have been resupplied... the modeling festival shall begin..."
For his hectic lifestyle, the shopping spree on payday and the modeling festival are his biggest joy. Maybe the dull and normal lifestyle is taking a toll on him, the amount of models he purchased are increasing every year. It finally became a monthly habit, he is totally addicted.
He wears his silly smile, walking home with his bags happily. The apartment he stays in is some distance away from the company, the station is between his residence and the company. He needs to make a detour when he visits the electronics shopping center, but it is not a big deal since he got what he is after. Kurata makes his way past the quiet residential zone, humming joyfully. The traffic is very light at this hour.
He heard the sound of an engine breaking the silence, the oncoming headlights restricting his vision. The lights from the distance blinded him, and he hurried to the side of the road. The road is relatively wide, but it will be bad if it breaks the bag. Kurata frowns at the usage of high beams while driving in the residential area, but he pay it no mind and continued walking.
The dazzling head lights made his reaction fatally slow. The car went straight at him with no sign of slowing and shows no intention in avoiding him. Before he realized, it was too close for him to avoid it.
The roar of the engine reverberate in his ears, his vision was drown out by the lights. He felt a chill down his back.
He can't get out of the way and collided with the car while hugging his bag. At the moment of impact, he heard his body made a frightening sound. As his body flew through the air, the moment before he lost conscious because of the immense pain, all sorts of emotion flash through his mind. But he did not see his life flash before his eyes, or cursing his luck in meeting this accident.
(Ah, I can't make the models I just brought and the series of models that will be release next month, such a shame...!)
In his mind was the passion he had for the models he can't assemble anymore.
"-- this just in.
Around 10pm tonight, a man collided with a car in K city S district. The victim was an office worker residing in the area, Kurata Tsubasa(28). An ambulance was dispatched after a resident made a report, but they failed to resuscitate the victim. According to the police investigation, the suspect was driving under the influence--"
Man I don't get just throwing stuff into GT and treating as actual translations. It's not even worth editing. At least use dictionaries and rely on TLCs if you aren't the best at the language. Why does BT even allow those on the site to begin with?
MC stops powering up from the first dungeon.
Author raised him to max stats, and there are still seven dungeons left. Author made his god ore thing stop wetting itself so MC can't absorb anymore, much to the author's delight who ran out of ideas on power-ups.
Christ, so Varant, Kaito and basically almost everyone working on MT is relying on machine tools to translate? Shit. I provided some edits on Kaito's blog releases before and suspected that, but I didn't think the whole team was literally MT users... Do they even use the correct tools like online dictionaries and Translator Aggergator + Mecab + Jparser so they actually know what the phrases mean?
These guys talk so much about putting in time and effort into coming up with translations, but seriously if they're at this level they're basically shitting their time away.
And some of them are jackasses that time they should be worshiped for the shit they put up, the whores.
>Random question. Do you guys mind I monetize my shit? Just adfly... totally harmless I swear.
>Adfly goal: $0.24795 / 1.00 - 24.8%
>What's this for? I need to buy myself some beer.
>Oh and whoever's interested in earning with adfly, be a dear and use my referral please.
who the fuck does this guy think he is
I'm learning very slowly, but I'd guess it's probably the word distinctions when japanese doesn't have that structure. Also pronunciation or whatever? Romanji stunts your growth, don't bother dipping into it basically.
Ok dickshit, you know nothing at all about eastern languages with that comment. 1 kanji can have several different meanings depending on the kanji beside it. Just reading romaji without knowing the variables is like reading a sentence like this "I slept with my sister" without knowing the context.
They know the kranji from the context, and that's why they spent 16 years learning the damn language. Some asshole who uses machine to read the romaji thinking its like english would fuck up.
And also, that's why there tons of wordplay in the Japanese language, precisely because of this fact. That's also why they have word games like Kurata and stuff.
Know the fucking culture.
Here's an example: ??????
Romaji: oobuneninotta, translation I boarded a large ship.
Contextual meaning: it's reliable / you can trust me
Fucking MT translators would give you a line about big ships.
>Any misunderstandings will arise from spoken phrases(romaji in a sense) with more than one meaning, not kanji mismatching.
You're not very bright, are you? 'Romaji phrases with more than one meaning' is mismatching kanji, you twit. ??, ??, ??, and ?? are all pronounced the same way but mean very different things.
Which is the whole fucking point of the post. Those asshats MT users are reading using romanji and thinking that means they know the language without actually being familiar with it.
Which you can't pick up on when speaking. You mean to tell me you've got a VR app that helps you subtitle your interactions with real people?
Misunderstandings with your kanji usage would only occur on textual writings.
>Misunderstandings with your kanji usage would only occur on textual writings.
No, misunderstandings are from lack of understanding context.
It's like how you're not going to fuck up what someone means when they say 'Die/Dye/Die (Dice)' because those are only used in specific contexts. Japanese, however, has a vague way of speaking for casual conversations and the distinctions wouldn't be apparent for someone who overheard them or jumped into the conversation in the middle.
The arsehole we are taking about only runs it through a romanji converter and calls it a day after looking at a machine translate.
Hey, you think I would be this pissed if I weren't one? Fuck this shit where people think MTs is better than actually knowing what you are doing. You all can eat shit and like it, up to you.
>Think MT is better
So, who said MT is better? Do enlighten us.
>Hey, you think I would be this pissed if I weren't one?
Yes, I acknowledged that you are a translator, I a just asking what motivates you.
And btw, that program messes up the kranji catching, so you get wrong meanings 20% of the time.
Tell that to all the cocksuckers who are posting on the thread and the blogs. If you think it's "Good enough", then enjoy.
You're digressing from the point now. I never said anything about context, and yes context is an important element in why misunderstandings happen.
I'll return to the main point. Misunderstandings in romcoms are not because of kanji.
If someone else wanted to give us a better translation I'd read that one instead. But if it's between not getting it at all or having to try to slog through a machine assisted translation, I'll take the latter. Rather than hassling the people making bad translations why don't you try to find more people to make good translations thereby rendering them obsolete?
>I a just asking what motivates you
Now? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Before? Actually having people know how good some stories are. Which gets butchered by MTs. Like cooking, unless the chef knows what's he's doing, the quality of the enjoyment is vastly different.
That new translator (saihafire) is a faggot like nearly all others on Mushoku.
With the pretense of being a "learner" they throw out horrible machine translations.
That supervisor should stop being a dick and accept anon's translation for these two chapters already.
it has already been deleted twice from the page, it was put up as a PREVIEW after vanant removed his registration and before saihafire registered, and the supervisor still deleted it because he is a big cock sucking faggot
>Misunderstandings in romcoms are not because of kanji.
I know. They're from the ability of both parties involved in the conversation to not talk well whatsoever.
My initial problem was you saying words with multiple meanings but same pronunciation (aka fucking kanji) will cause misunderstandings, yet claiming they're not kanji.
>Any misunderstandings will arise from spoken phrases(romaji in a sense) with more than one meaning, not kanji mismatching.
Because no one with any sense of self-respect or standards would associate themselves with this project anymore, since it puts them in the MT group of faggots.
You guys are stuck with shit cause of your 'tolerance'.
>pick a series you like that isn't being translated
>make a blog or whatever
>translate in a steady schedule
there you go, you are letting people enjoy the series without having to bother with MT
from the beginning it was kaito etc. translating it since no one else was going to
the problem is them quitting, not these inexistent translators that like to sit on their asses, whine about everything and expect their dicks to get sucked
Translating is not an obligation, so they have the right to quit if they are unhappy.
But it is irritating when the translator who quit keep raging on about how much better they are than the current lot.
Just let go.
You're reading the line wrongly,
"not kanji mismatching" does not imply kanji won't cause misunderstandings, it's an allusion to a context problem. You have to understand this is spoken dialogue. Kanji plays no role here, although the misunderstandings can be solved with kanji and if the whole damn scenario was someone represented textually.
Beggars can't be choosers after all.
We want quality but aren't allowed it. The only alternative for us is to learn Japanese ourselves and once we do the series still won't be translated since we're selfish pricks.
You are wrong.
If someone Machine Translate you need to hack into their computer and delete their work.
It's your fault for accommodating them.
You must swear allegiance to the good translators only.
Having a MT version out there will make all the good translators leave. It is your duty to kill all MT out there. Not doing so means you support MT.
usually the pattern goes
-bad translators translate
-critics don't translate
-critics make the bad translators ragequit
-series doesn't get translated from now on
If said critics just commandeered the entire series that would be a godsend, too bad it usually doesn't happen, so I'm more worried about whether the series gets translated and how fast it gets translated than the quality of the translations. If a good translators are petty enough to ragequit because MT's dared to translate their series then I can't really rely on them to finish the series (they'll probably translate a quarter than leave the series completely because someone called them a faggot on the internet).
That being said, /a/non translators shouldn't bother with BT just post their translations here, where faggots don't delete their shit.
Thank you, i can read the volume 13 now, big thanks :)
And just a question:
This is machine translator? And if so, with at least a editing ?
It's not a critic, it's just for know, i read anyway ;)
Are there any translations for 138-142?
I mean I know they are reserved for Vanant (and he already did 140) but since the person is busy with vol 20 I can't really say he cares much about those chapters.
lol... I really think you guys (the real translators) shouldn't be bothered by this. just do what you do ;)
I mean, the people that read this shit are like
If they want to read garbage, let them.
They deserve crappy MTL.
The funniest thing about MTlers, is that if they actually took the time to read what they typed while they smoked weed, they could have picked up lines that make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE in the context of the paragraph, and maybe spend more time to think about whether they actually understood the original meaning.
>MTLs translate a LN
>people enjoy it
>other translators who aren't even contributing: "lol what the fuck guys why aren't you sucking our dicks and are enjoying something one of us isn't translating? Fuck you guys, this project is fucking doomed, thanks to you accepting this shit my dick isn't being sucked enough."
>MTLs get sick of the complaining and quit
>"Hah that's what you get for driving the actual translators (who never did shit) away by accepting MTL!"
Why are you guys shit flinging? People were enjoying this series even if it was machine tled. I can't even tell who's machine translating besides the learners. The main TL group (Vanant, FIghter, Skuuizan, DarkKaito) is good enough
Please don't force your elitist standards on me, I have neither the thought or will to learn Japanese. It'll make me sad if TLers stop translating because you guys whine too much.
All my answers to your complaints is "give me translations." If you are not translating my shit then I don't care what you think it's all ramblings of shitposters to me. If you are then please deliver us from these horrible MTs by taking away their series and translating it all yourself.
It would seriously ruin my week if this actually affected TLers, but I doubt they care what we say. I hope.
Anyways, just incase, I'm really thankful to the translatorsan, that tripfag (Ouewhjatever), and the anon who is tling.
I will gladly take a fanfic I enjoy over nothing, thanks.
You people are acting like this was some kind of series being translated by an excellent translator who then quit because of a flood of MTL.
But the reality is, this is a series done by a MTL from the beginning, since actual translators weren't going to translate it.
you make a good point but it doesn't help that the main tl group are being shitlords because of that the group that complained grew even larger and now the whole project may be fucked until someone else picks this up
There was only the drama of Deadgye, and Vanant. The TLing is back to it's original pace since DarkKaito wants to slow down, which is understandable. So everyone is grouchy.
since they aren't getting paid whether they translate or not depends on their feelings.
so compared to the people who are translating and those who aren't, those who aren't have no say in this matter.
no one yet
>Boku dake ga Inai Machi
You guys will probably like this story while you wait for TLs.
It's not focused on pandering though. Just a proper story with getting sucked back to his childhood to prevent a crime or whatever.
>Well looks like the new kid working on 128, Saihafire, has decided to drop the project so 128 and 129 are up for grabs again.
problem with Tenshi discussions is no one is on the right track because of all the translation issues
there's those who know runes who read everything
people who don't who are at Vol 13
and those who are impatient and read ahead to all the translated parts
In LMS why does Weed decide he needs to take the ghost ship to Las Phalanx?
This whole second S level quest is confusing, a bird led him to shore and then he saw the ghost ship from there, then he just took off? How did he find out where he needed to go?
As per the translation: "on. After a couple of days, the Golden Bird flew northeast and arrived at the coast... “So…the culprit behind the destruction of the Niflheim Empire is somewhere beyond here?” Gugugu.."
He was flying and the weather makes the golden bird impossible to fly any further so it landed on the shore. The ghost ship was a coincident so he hijacked it as captain for a free ride. The information you miss is in vol 19 chapter 5,
he dropped off in a bar in the next port/coast and got extra information on a great wizard heading Las Phalanx.
If Eris wanted to shit in Rudy's mouth she would beat him up and do it.
If Roxy wanted to shit in Rudy's mouth he would thank her when she was done.
If Sylphy wanted to shit in Rudy's mouth she would somehow end up with shit in her mouth instead, smiling the entire time.
Some people just don't like passive women.

Why would he put his chink translations right next to his company website? The superannuated web design makes me laugh, though.
