There were some nifty scifi short stories on there. Like the one where humans finally go out among the stars, but everywhere we find life its already dead and gone after sort of going mad and self destructing. And then the one time we do find a living race, they're really primitive and half crazy and we don't bother making contact.

Then humans finally build this huge ship to jump a really big reach of space, and when we finally get across it we encounter a sort of alien outpost but thanks to some garbled transmissions we sound horrifying to them and nobody wants to mess with us. In the end it turns out that earth exists in kind of a Bermuda triangle of space where there is some kind of radiation that makes sentient life crazy and humans happen to be a little immune, which is why every other race out there is terrified of us after we appeared across the gap.

Pretty much, even if you turned Jupiter into a black hole, it wouldn't be any more of a problem to something in the vicinity than Jupiter itself since the mass and gravitation would be largely unchanged on the orbital scale (there would be some frame dragging but that wouldn't be a problem unless you were inside the radii of the original Jupiter).

The gypsy one was interesting. Basically they were a race of merchants and traders who were kind of looked down on by the rest of the galaxies races. And when they made contact with humans, they basically started trading us outdated tech for resources. Other races didn't bother with humans and saw us as kind of the gypsies favorite pets. The gypsies themselves thought we were a bit gullible, but liked that we could actually barter and debate with them. Then in the background there is this huge war against this one race, with the winning side forming the galactic alliance. Because they chose not to take part in the war, the gypsies are left out, and one of the planets that was allotted to this one race of the alliance was one the gypsies were using as kind of a second homeworld. They were basically told to get out and weren't given enough time to do it. So humans came to their aid to help them. And were slaughtered. Human forces had very little victories but kept trying anyways. In the end, we were basically ready to get more of our own forces killed then the enemy was, so the enemy backed down and came to the negotiating table.

Despite the fact Gunbuster was executed better Diebuster still won in terms of animation quality and characters. Its main issue was it felt like they tried to squeeze an entire TV series worth of content into 6 episodes.

That was the best part for me; if it was the same stuff referencing its first season it'd just be boring. Plain. Unworthy. A continuation was impossible from the get go, any try for one would just feel shoehorned and be bad. This was the optimal variant, and it worked brilliantly.
