Keep on NADE-NADE: http://digimon-adventure.net/
We're 228,000 away from breaking this egg and revealing more information about Adventure 2005.
People do that? That's fucking stupid.
Did you beat Digimon World?
At any rate, since I'm here, got any cute digimon requests?
Royal Knights worshiping Norn (loli Yggdrasil)?
>With as many sue traits as Hikari or Takeru, and their Angel Digimon that got shafted in favor for Wallace and Daisuke.
Cool, this confirms my theory: the movie is hated because it's focused in 02's chracters.
Ie: fan butthurt
Inb4 "Daisuke and Miyako sucks" despite them being likable in the movies.
> That repeatedly tried to kill him and ended up kidnapping seven of the original chosen children.
So? The Digimon got infected but Wallace didn't knew how to fix this. Are you saying that he should have killed his friend?
> shit nigger, he's got a golden Digimental going for him
> Glad you understand.
You seem to care about the world tour stuff. Or is just creating logical fallacies and pretending that they are flaws.
The story is no more shallow or more complex than the Diaboromon movies.
> Since the first season? Sure it wasn't complex, but Adventure sure had solid character development
It had stock character development.
Tamers is the only Digimon series with better-than-stock character development but this only starts kicking in the second part of the series.
Best and strongest Digimon coming through. ZeedMillenniumon ain't got shit on this.
Six episodes left of Tamers to watch.
Shit man I missed out on some good shit having only seen a few episodes of it as a kid.
Because that shit is pre-determined.
I never said that it had BAD character development. I said that Tamers improved over the stocky development during the second half of the story.
I still find that hot. I know I shouldn't, but the eyes to things to me.
>Cool, this confirms my theory: the movie is hated because it's focused in 02's chracters.
I'm going to be real with you. I enjoyed 02 and what it offered. I didn't enjoy Hurricane Touchdown because between it and the Revenge of Diablomon, at the very least, having a corrupt Digimon being born on the internet that causes mass destruction by hijacking phone lines and missiles makes more sense than having an unknown virus infect a Digital Entity in the real world, where the movie takes place. The Diablomon movies gave us Omegamon, and that's infinitely better than what Hurricane Touchdown had to offer.
Wallace, overall, doesn't really do much as a character. The plot of Hurricane Touchdown overall was boring and was shoddily put together, by comparison the Diablomon's movies. I'm only saying that because you're bringing that up for comparison. Wallace, as a protagonist, while realistic as you put, ultimately is boring.
I agree to disagree with you anon. Now let's not shit up the thread.
I think he means it was generic. It went through the same plot motions that most things in the shonen demographic do:
>Red versus Blue rivalry
Does /m/ still have an eternal Digimon general? At least on /a/ and /v/ Digimon is on-topic.
I had the same reaction I had as a kid when I re-watched it
Honestly when it comes to 02 I just find the whole thing completely flawed no matter what it is.
Well DSP was alrigh
>Does /m/ still have an eternal Digimon general?
>At least on /a/ and /v/ Digimon is on-topic.
Digimon is hella /m/. /m/ was having 24/7 generals since Xros Wars. It was like the only board to talk about it when it was airing.
Back then we would only have like one thread a week on here. On /m/, it was tons of fun
is nade-nade really predetermined? how can you know?
>Lee, who above all condoned violence of any sort, evolved with his Terriermon into SaintGargomon. This digimon is decked out in missiles and other type weapons. However, Lee developed into the sort of character who stood up for himself and others so he could protect the ones he loves.
>Rika, the tomboy who pushed away her feminine side, developed into someone who was comfortable with herself in the end. With Renamon, they evolve into Sakuyamon. This digimon is feminine and is the manifestation of Rika accepting not only her femininity, but also of herself in general.
>Takato's development is intricate. What began as an adventure became into a struggle to protect the ones he loves. He needed to become stronger and he wanted to save the ones he loves. With Guilmon, they evolve into Dukemon. They literally become a knight in shining armor.
In comparison to the incredibly linear development in Adventure in which their development is spelled out to them with their fucking crests and in some cases didn't even make any sense with certain characters ( Yamato learns to being a better "friend" by being a self absorbed prick crying because everyone else is growing but him, Sora's "love" was her just saying it rather than just showing it) I think the only character in which it actually worked was Taichi, he learned the difference between Courage and Recklessness and became a better leader as a result, hard to believe that throughout the last arc he was the only one that realized the seriousness of the situation.
Oh no, I didn't mean it was off-topic on /m/...I was thinking about the Digimon threads on /co/.
Is that the only piece of character development Wallace actually has? I haven't seen Hurricane Touchdown, but I suppose the debate over him is whether he's a bland or bad character.
I'm not going to put your points down but I feel like you're selling Adventure's character development aspects short. I mean, it may feel linear or whatever, but it still worked. It still made everybody interested in the characters, it still balanced the characters relatively evenly and remember that for a mons-type show, that sort of thing is really rare. Hell, it's honestly still pretty rare today
I also wanted an excuse to post this image
I wonder why when it comes to talking about digi-sluts nobody brings up the canonical slut here
Do you think seeing her brother naked gets Hikari all hot and bothered?
>Red versus Blue rivalry
Oh, I see. Understandable.
But honestly, in my opinion, the execution was ok and satisfactory. Even though as a series it only brought another type of Monster battle show.
Zero Two on tne other hand, it felt rushed. I remember when I was a kid I grew up with the Latin American dub and after having watched the last episode of Adventure, I got surprised when I saw the preview of Zero Two after the credits.
Then I learned years later that Zero Two began a week later Adventure ended. They made the milking way too obvious with Zero Two by putting aside what made Adventure a solid series.
Good thing that Konaka and the producer of Tamers got back with the idea to treat the show as more than only a 23 min ad.
I dunno. She thought he was cute or some shit.
On that note, I think they forgot about this girl and her being angry-tsundere at Tagiru
Do you think they still take baths together?
I think it was clearly they were pushing (and by pushing, I mean, subtly made hints at it every 15 episodes or so) Izumi liking Takuya. Of course that library scene is the last we see of it
Does anyone else feel like Daisuke kinda got the short stick in 02.
Since he was introduced as a new MC I hoped he would get decent character development, but I feel they overplayed the whole "I'm an idiot that makes mistakes but means well" angle of his character. After inheriting Tai's legacy I hoped he would eventually become competent but he turned into more of a running joke.
And I know Takeru was kinda paired with Hikari in adventure, but him constantly being jealous cause they were close was pretty annoying too. I feel like they easily could of made him likable but fucked up pretty hard
As an outsider coming into the group with a crush on Hikari he could of been easy character to relate to, why was he so annoying always?
>Does anyone else feel like Daisuke kinda got the short stick in 02.
And then some
>As an outsider coming into the group with a crush on Hikari
Remember how they totally dropped this like as soon as Ken came into the picture?
He was a deliberate static character that overshadowed everyone else with his antics that gets special powers because "leader".
What's the difference between Daisuke in ep.1 and Daisuke in ep. 45? Nothing.
Do the same with Tai and you can see the difference.
Since we're talking about 02, the faults in characterization and such are practically endless. There were just so many dropped balls and plot holes, shit really couldn't hold itself together.
02 made no sense but the worldwide Digikids arc was one fucking fun fanservice arc.
Terriermon and patamon being cute together
But we all know who does
That was why I said it was fanservice tier, probably because of how popular it was worldwide. But I liked it anyway, fun things are fun.
Stage greeting for the 2nd 02 movie. It's on the DVD.
This one is from the 2nd tamers mocie. THe one with Doreme is from the first Tamers movie.
Damn I have weird taste
Daisuke is piss easy to make a semi-likable character. Just drop all the being obnoxious shit and make him some wide-eyed idealist looking for adventure, eager to learn more about Digimon from Takeru or some shit. Instantly makes him an easy audience surrogate to get introduced into the Digital World.
It's Miyako that's the nightmare to fix up. There's so little shit to go off of in the first place, so you have to try something new like try to make her the "big sister" of the group or something, and then you run the risk of it no longer "feeling" like Miyako.
I just want Daisuke to do something cool, or flirt with Ken it's a little confusing. Just give him a scene where he whiffs at the soccer ball like Kyon, then make him less incompetent in other areas.
Miyako. I feel like if they just give 50% of her lines to Hawkmon, then in the first couple of episodes destroys her helmet, she might be less abrasive. Then push her into a 'glasses girl' type maybe?
>these faggots who are so smug about the fact that they know the other reason it was called 02 was because it took place in 2002 (common knowledge), that they forgo all logic and call the new season something that makes no sense at this point in time just to show how much smarter they are.
The third Adventure season isn't going to be called 05, 2005 or 03, you jackasses.
Actually, with Miyako, I'd just make Hawkmon's perfect/mega form Ornismon (who, to be fair, may not have been a concept yet during 02). Have her deal with them family issues throughout the season, Ornismon's overbearing size drawing an obvious metaphor for her desire to out-compete or being overshadowed by her siblings.
She is trapped inside the D-Reaper and is suicidal because the D-Reaper has been feeding off her negative emotions (while also jacking them up).
In that scenario she's talking about how everyone would be better off if she just died and is harming herself.
I approve. Needs lots of shota abuse though.
Maybe it's just cause I'm spoiled with all my overpowered main characters, but I wanted him to save the day more with the power of courage and friendship.
Is this NTR?
>eager to learn more about Digimon from Takeru or some shit.
Another problem with the character was precisely his one-sided beef with Takeru. When one of your few stock recurring actions is being an ass towards a guy whom the audience has known for longer than you and is mostly portrayed as being chill and likeable, that is not putting you in the fast track towards fan appeal.
Generally, it seemed the writers just jumped over the whole "writing" bit and just dumped powerups on his ass in the hopes of getting kids to like him because he was strong. Which in turn backfired even worse because the audience just saw a a guy being rewarded for jack shit in opposition with the development the previous kids needed to undergo to get their evolutions.
Well, he constantly saves the day with the power of "Oh shit the arc's ending and we didn't develop shit. Quick, asspull some bullshit for a new evolution, we gotta sell more toys" instead.
Yeah, that was really rampant.
>Digi-Armor, it's all about Digi-Armor
>Wait, fuck no, it's all about getting actual evolutions, actual evolutions!
>Shit, we need to show-off Jogress: MAKE IT ABOUT JOGRESS!
>People liked Omegamon, do something like Omegamon!
He even brought Ken home to meet his parents.
Worst is that they never once managed to find a good excuse for it. Magnamon was just the worst.
>Takeru: All our digimon are fucking exhausted and Kaiser can't even control Chimeramon anymore. Let's retreat and regroup.
>Daisuke: No! We may be in the middle of fucking nowhere, but we still need to end this thing right now because reasons!
>Takeru: Even though I was there when retreating against Etemon and letting him burn the Koromon village was ultimately the right choice, and later saw how horribly forcing his digimon to fight backfired on Tai, I seem to have suffered a momentary aneurysm and somehow will agree to not stop you on this.
>Writer: Here, have a literal Miracle to asspull this into not being a stupid suicide.
>Everyone: Wow, that sure was a good character moment for Daisuke and totally not a ridiculous pile of bullshit.
The cards were stacked in Daisuke's favor.
He even got the girl in the end as icing on the cake.
>not ladydevimon for maximum "onii-chan" from Hikari
At least I have some fanart of that though
Oh she drugged him alright. Drugged with him passion and carnal love.
and cosplay sex
I can't choose. Fuck.
Also, request for Patamon and Terriermon doing something cute is done.
Even his parents shit on him
It was shit like this that made him hard to like, there's a time and a place to turn the tide of battle and fight like a badass. Instead there's bad decisions and asspull ex evolutions, all conducted with shit timing/pacing
Have you nade naded today, anons?
>High school Mimi
All of my yes.
>mfw I knew I was a faggot even at nine years old
>mfw the first ship I ever had was a straight ship: Jyoumi
>mfw 02 ending and even at that young age I knew Mimi got with fucking Michael
And from that moment on I vowed to never ship a hetero pairing ever again unless canon.
Ok /a/, let's talk about the inevitable new digidestined that will be joining in adventure 2015 (or whatever you want to call it).
Most likely it will be new boy, new girl, so character traits, digimon partners
who gets to fuck who from the original 8?
Okay i'm about to watch this series for the first time ever.
Can someone tell me or give me a link to something that explains what seasons and movies im supposed to watch in order? I looked online and theres shit like
>watch the first season then the third before the second, and make sure to watch half of the first season before watching the first movie
and all that shit. can someone here just tell me?
It's a fanart of them in HS though, the supposed 05 setting. They're all like 13-14 (With Jou as exception because he was entering HS) in 02.
Mimi's pink hair was fucking terrible though, good thing Diaboron Strikes Back fixed it.
>Hikari will never change her hairstyle ever
>a new canon to completely retcon the events in 02
Don't watch it.
Digimon anime is shit. It aged like shit too.
Don't waste your time, we are all here just because of nostalgia. If you didn't watch it as a kid then there is no reason for you to watch it now.
Digimon Adventure the movie, Digimon Adventure the series, Digimon Our war game, Digimon Adventure 02 (highly avoidable because it's mostly shit), Diaboron Strikes Back.
All subs, ever.
If I wrote adventure 2015 I would simply include the characters from adventure, but this series needs to sell, so we need new faces and new digimans, so yeah, it is inevitable, but look at it from the bright side, at least there is a chance of a new waifu for taichi, among other things.
>Ok /a/, let's talk about the inevitable new digidestined that will be joining in adventure 2015 (or whatever you want to call it).
I don't know... I mean, I won't throw aways the really high possibility that we'll get new characters, but do you think they will hog the spotlight from the original digidestined?
Personally, I just want more of the Yagami siblings, Takeru and Mimi.
That puppet becomes less cute when you realize the idea behind it was that Juri used it to amuse her younger sibling at night while her parents were out running/working a prostitution ring.
Watch the Adventure pilot first, then Adventure.
Then ask youself, do you enjoy trainwrecks?
If the answer is yes, you watch 02 and under no circumstances do you drop it, no matter what.
Then you watch Tamers.
Watching everything else is optional, but I recommend picking up Savers.
As for movies: Our War Game right after Adventure.
Diablomon Strikes Back after 02, or after OWG in case you don't want to watch 02
X-Evolution any time.
The Island of the Lost Digimon (only if you watched frontier, watch it around episode 21 or so)..
Ultimate Power Activated right after Savers ep. 38.
If you want to, watch the Runaway Digimon Express after finishing Tamers, but do keep in mind it's all non-canon shit, only the 2 Adventure movies and DSB have any plot relevance at all.
Who's "we"? speak for yourself, faggot. even forgetting everything from back then and re-watching it now, Digimon is still good without nostalgia.
It easily has likable characters and a bunch of feelsy moments like Taichi returning home for example.
My game had a bug which made the Agumon at Ogremon's fortress' entrance not trigger any conversation at all. That meant I couldn't get Ogremon, Shellmon, Whamon, that MetalMamemon egg, or unlock the factory area. It was painful.
I played that game so much the pirate CDs wouldn't last long, so I bought the game three times as a kid and always faced the same bug. Only two years ago I discovered that the Agumon was glitched. I downloaded the game to my laptop and finally beat it. Phoenixmon a best
>If you want to, watch the Runaway Digimon Express after finishing Tamers, but do keep in mind it's all non-canon shit, only the 2 Adventure movies and DSB have any plot relevance at all.
Nobody cares about plot relevance.
Digimon is for fun.
At first I just thought it was my boner talking, but scenes like these make it all the more plausible.
I'd kill for a doujin where Daisuke uses instant ramen in a variety of kinky ways to seduce Ken and turn him into a trap.
Does anybody know why Daisuke got ExVeemon instead of Veedramon? Because I was really looking forward to Veedramon as a child, and was super-disappointed when we got BlueDragonite (I'll confess, I like Paildramon. 10/10 Jogress design).
With only Taichi confirmed from the trailer (and maybe Hikari who knows) the rest of the main 8 might not appear or have short cameos, for me i would love for everyone to come back, but that is just wishful thinking.
That's why I asked, instead of being sad for those who might not be in adventure 2015, we could speculate about the posibility of new digidestined and new digimons.
Don't let her touch you, she's not a licensed doctor!
Tamers actually has a plot and characters people care about. That becomes a problem when the movie isn't written by the guy behind everything else and it's really obvious because a main character suddenly develops daddy issues.
u wot, ExVeemon isn't exactly what I'd call Dragonite. It's lacking the beer belly for one thing. Anyway, ExVeemon has wings. No wings for Veedramon until AeroVeedramon.
Yes, but Tamer's characters are the same thing in the movies.
> it's really obvious because a main character suddenly develops daddy issues.
Ruki? Her daddy issues were always obvious.
Thats so heartbreaking. What soulless creator would fuckin NTR their hero like that. I thought they only teased at the idea create drama and fill up screen time only for them to get together in the end, but i just looked up on the wiki and that slut has two kids with his best friend? what the fuck man
>It's also an anime series that is largely meant to sell toys to kids.
Which it gets incredibly obvious in Zero Two.
At least Adventure and Tamers had the decency to properly use product placement without shitting on the story and character progression.
Except it isn't NTR, the only people who think that are pathetic neckbeards who can't handle that their imaginary interactions between two characters, who have always been portrayed as being just good friends, didn't come true.
>mfw it would be against the rules to have all four Holy Beasts + Fanglongmon as your partners
My brother grinded for years playing Digimon World 2 to try and get the three Megas. The disc crapped out right before he would have gotten either Diaboramon or Baihumon. It was a bad day.
Duly noted. I'll make an updated version at some point.
The point is that it's never mentioned in Tamers, and she never acts as though not having a father is any big deal. Her family is complete with Renamon, her mother and her grandmother, and her development as a character is in coming to accept her role as part of that family rather than trying to be a stand-offish loner. Inserting the father into that equation makes no sense, especially coming off of her development over the course of the series proper.
I figured you were referencing to the movie already. No worries.w
I know that feel. I tried to raise an UlforceVeedramon on Decode after I beat the game, only to realize I couldn't raise one until I was on NG+.
It was rather devastating to see my digimon never evolve past perfect.
Yeah but in the episode where dobermon delivers them the power to evolve to ultimate in the real world, both Ruki and Jian have major character traits explained by incidents the audience never knew of before.
Ruki was cold because she was afraid to care about others, she was scared of losing somebody she loved again, like her dad
Jian always restrained himself because he was scared of hurting anybody, like when he got in a fight with some kid when he was little
>The point is that it's never mentioned in Tamers, and she never acts as though not having a father is any big deal.
She mentions it when the Matrix Evolutions get unlocked in the real world and all three kids have a short introspective moment. About how she wonders if she was a boy her father would have stayed.
> I don't remember her or anyone of her family (or even Konaka) bringing up her father anywhere in the series, though.
> The point is that it's never mentioned in Tamers, and she never acts as though not having a father is any big deal.
The writer should have addressed this. The movie did and it fits the character well, so what's the problem?
> Her family is complete with Renamon, her mother and her grandmother,
But none of them are male figures.
> Inserting the father into that equation makes no sense, especially coming off of her development over the course of the series proper.
C'mon, Ruki feels totaly like a fatherless tomboy. I always associated part of her personality to this, even before watching the movie.
>it doesn't even have a gender
>The movie did it and it fits the character well
The movie was made after the rest of the series, so it wasn't an issue for the character until then. Ruki's deal was that she had stunted emotional connections, not that she had a big father-daughter complex.
I'm trying to navigate it now, I think it's the third DS game after Digimon World DS and Dawn+Dusk.
Might just say fuck it and emulate Card Battle, but I want to know more about Chronomon.
>Mimi surprised that Koshiro being that tall
I could never figure out how to train them well.
The Gym sucked.
Fighting sucked because I was weak.
I was retrying earlier today.
What digimon should I try to get?
That's not cute Anon that's
I was never a particular fan of their "middleschool" uniforms. Those looked more like Highschool ones anyway.
In fact, all of the old digidestined were acting like senior highschoolers instead of 14 year olds. Granted, Japanese kids, bit still.
12 year old Takeru and Hikari felt sort of bland.
It's probably a grindfest like Dawn/Dusk. I dunno, I grew frustrated with plate repairing and the limits on devolving. Might be worth it if you want to use the holy beasts THAT badly
Not quite what you had in mind, but here's something I found
>Google Girl MC
Yeah, I remember when they anounced it some years ago. Interesting. And refreshing for a change.
The thing is that this one never got am English release and the translation patch was like in 80% done of something.
>the glorious return of Brave Heart, all those new insert and theme songs
>the eventual dub will trash all of it and even manage to be inconsistent with it's own dub of Adventure
Adventure (maybe with 02) and Tamers. The two universes were almost linked to each other, and it'd be interesting to see how Taichi and Takato react to each other's situations.
It makes sense.
>Frontier = Sentai
>Xros = Mecha
>Savers/Data Squad = hot-blooded shonen
Because rules of the internet, there's even pictures of maraquan neopets bound in kelp
>"Oh no, the Devas are wreaking havoc on the city!"
>Masaru punches them in the face
>"Oh no, Beelzebumon's being a dick!"
>Masaru punches him in the face too
>"Zhuquiamon's being an asshole!"
>"Aaahhh the D-Reaper"
>There is no face to punch
>Punch it anyway
Did I just type 01
Masaru would punch Lilithmon right in breasts.
I fugged up and cleared war monzemon too soon and couldn't use monsemon anymore.
As a result I was stuck with tamer level 3 and a numemon so I just abused the infinite cash bug, traded cards for stat chips and cleared with with a maxed out devimon I got from the black wings.
All in all that game pulled some bullshit on me as a child though.
>have to spend time with digimon you don't want or like just to learn moves you won't ever use
>digi gym is largely pointless
>greymon ambush right after you save
>having to go online to find out when piximon is going to show up again
>stat parameters absurdly high just to get ultimates
It was fun, A remastering would be god like.
>Watching English Dub
>Narrator's VA is the same as Angemon's
>Imagine Angemon as an announcer getting overly hyped for the next episode
>This is now stuck in my headcannon.
>Happens again with Ruki's English VA narrating Frontier.
>greymon ambush right after you save
Oh shit, I remember that one! After a lot of training my Digimon needed to go to the bathroom so we tried to rush to File City since it was a screen away, but damn Greymon out of fucking nowhere.
>A remastering would be god like.
I agree, but I doubt it , especially since Re:Digitize has basically the same mechanics.
>I don't do lewd.
Then whats the fucking point? If you cant fuck the monster girls its not a CYOA. Bromont would be disgusted by you.
Well, the point would be to have a Digimon Adventure, wouldn't it anon?
By all means, if you want to fuck monster girls, you can wait for another Digimon drawfag. If I do it, it'll be just for laughs.
Huh, point taken.
Ain't nothing wrong with reusing mechanics if they provide a solid foundation.
This, with no new content and an assload of games that few people have actually played there is no real discussion to be had.
Give it to this girl. She'll solve them with burning passion.
Anon seems butthurt it wouldn't be lewd.
Could be. It ultimately depends.
If I do one, it's going to be an informal one that runs on suggestion. For instance:
>Congratulations /a/. You've been taken to the Digital World. Fortunately for you, there seems to be no one around that wants to murder you on the spot. However, a voice calls out to you.
>That voice belongs to--
And then I'll go shit random and say things like post that ends with 3 gets to decide what happens. Say for instance that post that ends with 3 is Numemon for shits and giggles. I can run with that.
> shit random and say things like post that ends with 3
When you do it like that though you're only gonna get stupid powerful choices
Shoutmon X7 Superior modeor stupid shit like...Numemon. Better off just giving everyone some choices you think are good and letting a vote seal it off
Yeah, I could run with something like this too.
Okay. When should we start, /a/? Considering we're still on topic with Digimon, do you think I'd get shoved off to /tg/?
