Hey there. Thermae Romae was finally scanned, so I'll be dumping it for those who are unaware (and possibly never even read before). Got a few OVA episodes.
>When Roman architect Lucius is criticized for his "outdated" thermae designs, he retreats to the local bath to collect his thoughts. All Lucius wants is to recapture the Rome of earlier days, when one could enjoy a relaxing bath without the pressure of merchants and roughhousing patrons. Slipping deeper into the warm water, Lucius is suddenly caught in the suction and dragged through the drainage at the bottom of the bath! He emerges coughing and sputtering amid a group of strange-looking foreigners with the most peculiar bathhouse customs...over 1,500 years in the future in modern-day Japan! His contemporaries wanted him to modernize, and so, borrowing the customs of these mysterious bath-loving people, Lucius opens what quickly becomes the most popular new bathhouse in Rome-Thermae Romae!
The author has an adaptation of Steve Jobs' biography in serialization as well. You can find scans of that online if you're interested.
Because of moot's 60 second bullshit, dumping all 1200 pages of this would take me like 20 hours, and each volume will take 1 1/2 threads. I'll post as much as I can. You can get the scans from kitty's blog/ftp.

v2 and v3 are being uploaded.
In other news, a Macross Frontier doujinshi by Dowman Sayman was translated by a kind OKTF.
Obviously, they do. If you like it, buy it, etc. The Thermae Romae releases were pretty nice, but large hardcovers will run you $20 each.
I meant in a way that how the hell their blogs are still not C&Ded after so much manga scanned. This makes me paranoid, so I archive almost everything they do. And I never mention where I get these scans in fear that it'll get more popular and thus get more attention.
I hope he'll get a spot in some other magazine. Can't believe Nickelodeon and Voynich are ending.
Yeah, Dowman's two primary serializations ending so close to each other is pretty disappointing. Especially Nick, an anthology of oneshots by an artist known for oneshots. He said he has plans for a new serialization next year, though, so that's nice. He still has irregular serializations (Oddman 11, Ayame, Suicide Parabellum). He also has a new oneshot out with his current doujinshi circle, but I haven't bought it yet.
As for the blog, no idea. Just keep it on the downlow, but KTK seems fairly well-known by now. Hopefully they keep backups - I might start archiving it myself just in case. I think most of it can be found on BakaBT, though. Keep circulating those torrents.
>Mfw I was half expecting him to show up in a female onsen. Then wacky antics.
Still great tho.
Sim games are best games. I've been leaning more towards grand strategy lately, though.
Grand Strategy is great too but It doesn't give me the satisfaction of building your own city and looking at it as it grows bigger and bigger.
Also try Phroah too If you haven't already
I would like to dump Mizuki Shigeru sometime soon as well, but so little of his stuff is translated. Guess I can post Street of Mysteries.
Pharaoh was years ago for me, but I should replay it.
;_; Maybe someday. I might just commission the chapter that covers the last episode someday.
I'd clean and typeset and shit if we actually had a dedicated translator. But these are rare animal in this place.
My hope was that it would become popular and we get some scanlation ongoing. But we all remember how it ended. Man, those rare threads about new episode subbed by Doremi was one of most happiest times I had here.
Hyouge Mono fans are cool. Surprised it even got 3k downloads per episode.
There were some additional OVAs, like learning about the wonders of an iPhone, but I haven't seen those.
>Monkey came back with him.
>Just fuckin chillin.
This is great. I want more.
I've never heard of this and you'd think the premise, time traveling Roman bath fetishist, would suck - but this is great. I'm actually fascinated by it, very interesting Manga. Thanks for sharing.
>FTP now needs you to fucking register on IRC
>Kitty's blog is so fucking vague it's impossible to find
Great stuff. I was looking forward to reading this given the anime was entertaining a couple of years back, too.
FTP anon was getting hit pretty hard, had to throttle it somehow. Someone posted a link elsewhere and suddenly 2 terabytes were moved in a few days.
It's just a temporary situation for sharing manga. I myself would like some torrents so we're not running some poor anon high bills.
I'd like to scan Excel Saga. Apparently someone else was doing it before, but they disappeared with the scans.
I heard this story, though it was quite vague. Either that particular someone got fucked by Viz and his scans were erased at the speed of light or he just simply disappeared. Dude who was about to do some photos of all 27 volumes so I could transcribe them and typeset on raws disapperead too.
I passed this thread once and skipped it because I thought from the OP pic it's some kind of typical gay manga featuring in rome or something, then I actually got interested when I googled the name.
Apparently it's been made into film several times, anyone know if they are any good ? Or is it the usual 3D disgusting adaptation ?
I've only seen one of the films, but it was pretty good.
Reminds me of the The Love Toilet.
This is how it starts. First it's water squirting on your ass, and then soon enough you fine yourself naked in an alley, acting like a depraved slut, begging for the nearest man to plunge himself deep into your yaoi hole.
Romans had clear glass ~100 CE.
Haven't read it all, just a few pages in the thread, while trying to wait and see if you needed a few pages TL of something/help ITT.
But yeah, translating this seems like a real task, and it doesn't seem shoddy, so commendable.
voucher guy btw, have just been lurking threads while being busy as of late, in case something pops up.
Just finished reading it, pretty gud.
Wasn't a huge fan of the way it turned into a love story in the last volume, but aside from that it's pretty solid.
Plus it's funny that the author is a Jap who married an Italian man.
We had a Thermae romae dump a few months back. I really enjoyed it, as I've never read the full series.
The anon that was posting it stopped at volume two, so I will surely watch these threads and finally read it all.
Ah, yeah, I can tell who you are. Thanks again for your translation. I'll ask someone to typeset it once Batoto is back up. I'm not sure what dead scanlation I could dump next, but if you're looking for something to translate, I have plenty of those short oneshots.
I think the Latin translations were from LAT->JP-ENG, rather than LAT->ENG.
I played through the collection recently, fun times.
I might take a break, or I might just leave it on autodump and take 4 hour naps, only to wake to start a thread anew. Thermae Romae marathon.
Although, since you're here, maybe you can offer a little input on the translation of the piece that you just did.
>Clan Clan's Jar (or Pot)
>? can also mean "target" or "acupuncture point"
However, I have no idea what title I should go with. I'd have to reread it again, but the oneshot didn't really make any sense. It seemed to be a setup for a visual pun.
That's what I was guessing.
Yeah, just said 'voucher guy', since last time I added the trip I forgot to take it off, thus adding a list of off-topic/Non-TL replies to the archives.
I only really add it when making threads or posting a line of TLs that could need it.
Of course I don't use it when helping out in threads, like when Mamare showed up.
Now that you know me I'll just avoid it.
Especially since I don't have much time these days and don't want people to expect things, ha.
As my friend Reggie once said, in his immortal words,
>that bitch is a bitch
Yeah. First page, small title on the bottom.
