Finally a reason to take a picture
Some of these series in your guys' collection is really mediocre. Why do you guys bother to buy them? If it is because you think that it was a good series/worth a try then I don't mean to offend.
I wonder if there's anyone that has a complete collection of
Incomplete and old because I'm a flip poorfag.
Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly. Fuck I'm jelly.
I hope it becomes available here too.
shit like that it tempting till i remember that Viz uses Zolo, and other strange translations for early one piece.
Also I wish both of the series i am collecting will get off their hiatus really soon, not shown in the picture MW, Ode to Kirihito, and Apollo's Song by Ozamu Tezuka
I only have pictures of my desk with my mango on it oh well rip I'm not going to bother posting it. Mainly I have entry level stuff. Like Uzumaki, D-gray man, then I have bezerk and some of the alt stories of meduka and 1 punch man. Also some cowboy bebop
Hmm, looks like I don't quite pass muster.
>want to into physical manga
>everything I want to read is either OOP, unlicensed or unfinished in english
h-how hard is it to read moon
patiently waiting for that one guy to come in and post that picture of the full stack of every currently available kyoukai senjou no horizon novel and manga volume.
also yes i'm fucking jelly as fuck of that guy. i wish i had the money to own all of them...
I really only buy manga to support the series. I prefer reading it on my nex7 anyway.
It's not impossible. As for manga, there's plenty of stuff with furigana that makes for easier reading.
2005 as fuck.
Is that when you started getting into anime more? We usually have a soft spot for some of our first series and some of those bring back some nice memories.
Or I could be way off. Either way, cool stuff.
I'm pretty jealous of that collection, even though all I've actually read a little bit of out of all of that are Bakuon, Moko, and Neptunia. Might pick up some of those other titles.
>kagerou days manga coming out april 21st 2015
I swear to fucking god it was supposed to come out on January 11th. At least the LN is in February.
Also waiting for Noragami, Witchcraft works, and no game no life manga releases
Definitely try ??????????. It's my favorite ongoing series
that is never discussed on /a/.
>It boggles my mind why it hasn't gotten an English release yet
Do people actually buy the titles? Or is it mostly libraries across the country that are major buyers of the english-translated manga? In my area, manga doesn't last long at the library because people pirate it right away and thus no one ever gets to check it out after that.
>not supporting the series you like
You are a fucking idiot, Anon.
what method do you employ to read on your N7? website? app? pls respond, I want to read on mine but I'm not sure what the best way is.
might post my shitty unfinished shounen collection later.
Well that explains why. I'll check it out assuming it isn't too high level, I'm admittedly a really slow reader.
I use perfect viewer. I have a folder called manga and then I just throw everything in that. I changed the settings to only use swiping for changing pages.
I really prefer having whatever I'm reading pre-downloaded instead of using online reader sites.
need more shelves so I don't have to put everything under my bed in boxes. And I'm considering tossing the bed frame for more shelves.
Most of the conversation is pretty straightforward, but be prepared for delicious kansai dialects spoken by some of the characters. Sometimes glasses girl gets a little wordy with her explanations of the various boardgames they play, but she speaks 'standard' Japanese most of the time. It's got furigana though, so that should help too.
TWGOK. The galge jargon and jokes shouldn't be that difficult to translate at all
i just started buying jp manga,
I already had some shonen jump magazines, and the first volume of the gentleman alliance cross, and one of ichigo 100% and one from video girl ai
sorry about the quality of the picture, i will try get a better picture
I sold most of my collection from middle school and high school (FMA, D.Gray-man, Rosario + Vampire, and more), but here is what I have now.
>wasted years and money on buying localized manga
>just realized a little while ago that buying the Japanese version would be better
I feel ashamed of myself, but I guess it's better than nothing. Still appears kinda pathetic that I only have six Japanese volumes at the moment while my shelf is full of localized stuff. Fortunately there's some new stuff on it's way.
Posted this in the thread a few days ago
How'd I do /a/
Gave this box to a friend since I was moving.
That pic is actually pretty recent. And I realized my library is all over the place in terms of genres.
>this whole thread
Man do I feel small time.
Since we're in a manga collector thread. I have a question. How does /a/ like to order their manga series? ABC, Author, Genre, Themes? I personally Like to order mine by which series I like best, or am most proud of owning in combination of themes (So Romance in one spot, monster girls another, and etc.), and each series is ordered numerically from left to right.
Same series go together, from left to right, wherever's space left on the shelves.
I tried the thematic approach once but since my stuff's all over the place it was too much of a hassle.
I should start getting some copies of that and Bride's Story. There's a Kinokuniya uptown so there's no excuse
Also, is there a way to prevent the pages from fading/yellowing? I get the feeling the heat of my room has something to do with it
Personally, for localized/english volumes. Amazon, quick shipping and it's usually 2-4 dollars off the cover price you'd pay if you walked into a Barnes and Noble. So like 8 dollars instead of 6 in Japan but awesome. Unless you get the large volume/omnibus volumes of a series. Like blood lad or Gunslinger girl then you're looking at, at least 12- 15+ dollars a volume. Still cheaper usually then cover price though.
Tried looking for raw scans, but couldn't find them anywhere. There goes that plan
Where at? All the Asians here are Vietnamese, Japanese people practically don't exist in the area.
Wait, on the left is that the loli Egypt Ero Manga, where MC acquires loli manga and Neo Ancient Egypt using lost secret ancient tech talks over the world. MC proceeds to become pharoh and have all the cute brown lolis and Egyptians he can? Damn I forgot about that series, hope Panda still has it on there!
I ought to get another Billy to reduce the double-stacked nature. Except I'm not sure where to put it without rebuilding something else.
I'll get a bookcase for these hopefully next month. Also not pictured is the boxset for Bakuman.
Interesting. It's always nice when authors actually like the subject they're drawing about and try to be accurate.
Well might pick it up next time I'm looking for a new series. Thanks for the info!
Tokyopop went bellyup ages ago.
They kinda live on as print-on-demand, pushing Hetalia because fujoshi money. I reckon some manner of kickstarter-like funding scheme could work if you could get enough people to rattle their coffin.
