That and I don't think the explanations the series gave were quite that terrible. They do leave more open to interpretation, but it's always been a story of adventure and weird shit is par for the course, so I didn't have much difficulty accepting it. We know where the Demon corps comes from and they establish the multiverse stuff earlier, even if we don't really see their world. (If that's what you mean. Because I'm not entirely sure if it is.)

I've rewatched it plenty - I'm not solely talking from nostalgia. I loved the characterization of the antagonists (and if Adventure has one weakness its one-dimensional villains - while Oikawa's a truly great character and the others aren't bad either.) I loved having international chosen children and a Lovecraft episode and a multiverse and giving the struggle a global dimension, I loved Ken's story of redemption. I think BelialVamdemon's defeat was thematically appropriate even if as a kid I wanted to see more of an epic battle. I think most of the flaws people complain about are overblown.

Tohma and Yoshino are relatively forgettable - digimon series have tended to have real ensemble casts, and Savers has a truly dominant MC - but it had its share of very strong moments and I liked it more than Frontier, Xros Wars, or even Tamers.
