Nope, I download the FLAC rips of the OSTs and convert them to 128 kbs mp3s.

Yes. With broadcast filter that makes it sound like authentic analogic stereo.

The only real fragile thing on them is the yokes (which is easy to fix with gorilla glue/20 dollars spent on ebay). Flexible metal band runs through the headband.

Those are the /g/ memephones, nobody really approves of them. They are the beats of /g/.
>>
>>110962610
They are but you don't need just /g/'s approval. They're essentially well recommended anywhere.
>>
>>110962565
It adds a dip in the midbass and lower midrange. MDR-7506 already has a dip there so that worsens it.

>>110962624
It's okay but the comfort is pretty poor. I would suggest dynamics or electrostatics for daily general use.
>>
>>110962610
its no longer /g/ approved it has no soundstage with way too much bass. Also there are some people who find them painful to wear after 1 - 2 hours

Stellar if you can live with the weight and comfort. Using them right now myself but they are so heavy and the headband isn't comfy at all so I tend to switch to HD 650s after a while. Or I just use speakers.
>>
>>110962673
>They are the beats of /g/.
Pretty much every place where they talk about headphones recommends those, from Reddit to Amazon to youtube headphone people.

They aren't a /g/ meme. Just the most recommended headphone on the Internet.

CG trolls what ever he he thinks will upset /hpg/ the most. If someone likes Beyer, he spams treble rape, if someone likes, Etymotic, he spams ear dildos, if someone likes Sennheiser, he spams mud, if someone likes AKG, he spams weebshit.

>>110962350
It depends. They're great value for money, they have good build quality and will last for years. They sound good too, being fairly balanced with a tight punchy bass that isn't over bearing, The treble is boosted and can be sibilant, you can easily EQ this down with equaliser APO in Windows. Ask /hpg/ about it. The pleather pads supplied by Sony will also crack and flake after a year, these can be replaced with cheaper ones available from Amazon or Ebay. You can also use Beyer DT250 velour pads or Auray sheepskin pads.
>>

>>
>>110962729
>I honestly did not notice a drop in bass when switching.
It actually makes the sub-bass clearer but the sibilance gets worse. Also electric guitars sound thinner. Haven't you noticed it?
>>
>>110962624
You could try HE-560, not sure about the price of them. But they got better headband and are significantly lighter.
>>
>>110962760
They're the most recommended because the general population likes nigra bass by dr nigrabass and the ATH-M50 is just a less expensive, less retarded version of the beats but still sounds terribly bassy.
>>
>>110962773
oh a vocal actor using 7506 instead of cd900st?
>>
>>110961483

In that case I'd recommend the GMP 8.35. Excellent all-rounder closed monitor cans, speedy and easier to drive compared to most Beyers (and this comes from a former fan of them).

What's the point of listening to music with expensive headphones when you aren't a classically trained musician?

You don't even know anything about music so it's not like you can even appreciate it.
If you can't even identify the key a piece is being played in, then it doesn't matter if you use good or bad headphones.

Apparently ZA cut down on the QC issues in 2014. No source for that. Try your luck.

I have a CBasso and it's great when I first got it but recently I've started to begin hating amplified bass so I don't appreciate it as much as I should. I might be getting the tenores but in a later year, hopefully when the QC issues have been more ironed out. That's if a better IEM hasn't taken its place yet.

If it's anything like the CB I suspect it'd be less bassy and much more detailed. In fact, I might just buy one soon anyway. The bassyness of the CB is really starting to get to me. It's so bassy. Too bassy. Basso indeed.

Okay mr. closedcans I see can why you're gravely misunderstanding.

>>110965014
It's not harsh at all. Your ears may vary but I've actually heard harsh treble which is painful and irritating so I know what that's like. People just like to misread FR charts or listen to music at super loud volumes. If you're not part of the latter, you'll find the 990's treble is very agreeable.

For the price they're good, they're comfy and they fit well. I've always had them for 3 years with no sign of wear and tear, and they're good for producing because of their pretty flat response. Some people say they're "too bassy" but I find them pretty okay. I do notice when I'm EQing lower end it is hard to determine how high the bass really is though, which is why I've been planning on getting some new headphones. But these have just been too reliable to get rid of.

Learn too equalize. The only reason GAYMUR headphones have "more" bass is because they normally have a hardware EQ on board along with the DAC.

They still need to be broken in some more, there wasn't much noticeable difference between my 428s. Then again I've used my 428s every day for the past 4 years and hardly have any time with my 660s.

I would say the bass is good, but every time I wear them I get a headache because my head is kind of wide.

Basically, some soundcards don't output enough volume to make the music sound loud enough or good enough for high-quality headphones to maximize their potential. Amps both improve the volume as well as the sound itself (depending on the amp) so that the sound meshes well with your headphones.
>>
>>110972890
Some metal bands specifically use shitty equipment to make the music sound terrible.
>>
>>110972904
I'd been looking into buying one, but don't really want to drop 100 plus on it. Also, are there any headphones that have built in amps? Curious, not looking to buy one but it seems like it would make sense to.

some headphones require more power to play music no only to boost the music but also to make it sound better by removing distortion (you can look it up it. Its pretty much sound changing because of not enough power) amps dont make headphones sound better. It is used to supply the power phones or computers are not capable of. That is why most people want audibly transparent amps.
>>

>to make the music sound terrible.
But, considering it's black metal, they really didn't need to use poor equipment to achieve that.

They're great, good for the price. Some people complain about bass, but while they have more than some other headphones they are still very neutral. Some complain about the lack of soundstage... can't say they're wrong, but it's not too bad unless you want to use them to play games. Some complain that they aren't comfy, I guess it's because they have a rather strong clamp but I have a small head so they are fine for me. I tried every other option in that price range and there was always something wrong, then again I wanted to wear them in the metro so open backs and non-portable phone were out of the question. It's a well spent 130$. I'm kind of lucky that the store I went to was selling the version with detachable cable for the same prce as the regular one, I've seen it around 180$.

The fags who call them memephones and shit are just troll/hipster who hate on anything popular/ don't like them and are tired of hearing people talking about them.

Unless you are listening to a bluray rip that properly encoded the audio, you are wasting your time with high end audio. Most audio has sub par mastering that negates any reason to use headphones or speakers with proper soundstage.

And yet it still doesn't sit atop the head. So directional sounds probably sound wrong. You might not notice it if you haven't worn proper headphones.

A waste of money regardless.
Ambient noise (which there will be) will remove whatever advantage you had in the first place when it comes to SNR.

The only possible excuse is a portable desktop rig for hotel-bound businessmen and even then that particular stack is pointless. A single amp if you have high impedence phones is really all you need.

Is my headphone amp even any good?
I wanted to make sure I got the most out of my Senn HD380, but I couldn't tell a difference between my computer's sound card and this amp.

Higher quality or not, Its super nifty for adjusting volume or hooking up multiple headphones

Weird, never had a problem getting a seal with the lambdas myself. The 009 is super comfy though.
