Do you listen to your anime audio in high-fidelity, /a/?
those are the K701's
i have the Q's
What headphones do you use for anime?
I use a pair of Sony MDR-CD900ST or MDR-V6
Green Panasonic RP-HTX7
/hpg/ is nearly always loli.
far superior ones
>buying a v6/7506 ripoff for double the price not to mention the shitty beyer build quality - notice how its made form all plastic - buy if you want to spend a shit ton of money for bad headphones.
>implying Sennheiser needs to shill their products for people to buy them like beyers.
No Sennheiser customers continue buying Sennheiser because they are neutral with good build quality.
The only real fragile thing on them is the yokes (which is easy to fix with gorilla glue/20 dollars spent on ebay). Flexible metal band runs through the headband.
They ARE pretty pricey, however. Get them for under 160 and you'll come out ahead.
The price point is
No, K701s are white, they are what Mio wears in K-ON. Do you mean the Q701?
I use AKG k240's
Not the best but I guess they're ok for the price
Aren't those the /g/ approved headphones? I was gonna grab them last Christmas but completely forgot about it.
Are HE-500's a good buy for my first pair of decent cans or are there better alternatives for the same price range? I'd probably be using them for the next 5+ years.
It adds a dip in the midbass and lower midrange. MDR-7506 already has a dip there so that worsens it.
It's okay but the comfort is pretty poor. I would suggest dynamics or electrostatics for daily general use.
Stellar if you can live with the weight and comfort. Using them right now myself but they are so heavy and the headband isn't comfy at all so I tend to switch to HD 650s after a while. Or I just use speakers.
>They are the beats of /g/.
Pretty much every place where they talk about headphones recommends those, from Reddit to Amazon to youtube headphone people.
They aren't a /g/ meme. Just the most recommended headphone on the Internet.
CG trolls what ever he he thinks will upset /hpg/ the most. If someone likes Beyer, he spams treble rape, if someone likes, Etymotic, he spams ear dildos, if someone likes Sennheiser, he spams mud, if someone likes AKG, he spams weebshit.
It depends. They're great value for money, they have good build quality and will last for years. They sound good too, being fairly balanced with a tight punchy bass that isn't over bearing, The treble is boosted and can be sibilant, you can easily EQ this down with equaliser APO in Windows. Ask /hpg/ about it. The pleather pads supplied by Sony will also crack and flake after a year, these can be replaced with cheaper ones available from Amazon or Ebay. You can also use Beyer DT250 velour pads or Auray sheepskin pads.
>I honestly did not notice a drop in bass when switching.
It actually makes the sub-bass clearer but the sibilance gets worse. Also electric guitars sound thinner. Haven't you noticed it?
They're the most recommended because the general population likes nigra bass by dr nigrabass and the ATH-M50 is just a less expensive, less retarded version of the beats but still sounds terribly bassy.
In that case I'd recommend the GMP 8.35. Excellent all-rounder closed monitor cans, speedy and easier to drive compared to most Beyers (and this comes from a former fan of them).
>partially deaf in one ear
>wearing headphones becomes the most annoying thing on earth
Can you even buy premium headphones at stores or at least get to try them out? I don't have any stores that carry it near me so it feels like a gamble when ordering online. Sure you can still return but it's a hassle at times.
What's the point of listening to music with expensive headphones when you aren't a classically trained musician?
You don't even know anything about music so it's not like you can even appreciate it.
If you can't even identify the key a piece is being played in, then it doesn't matter if you use good or bad headphones.
3/10 made me reply.
You don't have to understand the theory behind music to appreciate the difference in quality of a piece of music between good headphones and shit headphones.
1/10 had me looking for a reaction image
Who Etymotic Master Race here?
Well it depends how expensive we're talking about. And it's not like you need to have a lifetime of training to appreciate neutral headphones.
I went from Panasonic HTX7 to MDR-V6 to MA900 and the difference was pretty fucking massive for every jump.
But I agree that the diminishing returns and placebo are very real.
Experiencing sound in different ways is fun.
Me, hf5 owner here.
Judging from reactions on head fi with the tenores quality control seems to vary quite widely. I was somewhat intrigued by them. But fuck that if I might get burned on a pair and have no way of getting a refund.
M50s get trolled on /g/ because they're popular and have slightly emphasized bass. They're nowhere near as bass-heavy as beats are.
For $100 they're fine if you're looking for closed headphones.
The left channel died within the first five months of my m50's. Sent them back and ordered the Sony's. Haven't been disappointed. Plus I hated the nigra bass. I can see why some people would enjoy it I guess.
Yes. I'm pretty sure most studios in Japan use them.
They both have extremely good build quality. If you break an M50 you're probably a retard.
V6s/7506's are brighter headphones, which people who are just starting with the hobby might not like. It's safer to recommend a slightly bass-emphasized headphone than a treble-emphasized headphone.
Grabbed it from google but how do you hang/display/etc your headphones while not in use?
tfw never saw my headphones on episodes
tfw only artwork
I take it you meant the CD900ST
Apparently ZA cut down on the QC issues in 2014. No source for that. Try your luck.
I have a CBasso and it's great when I first got it but recently I've started to begin hating amplified bass so I don't appreciate it as much as I should. I might be getting the tenores but in a later year, hopefully when the QC issues have been more ironed out. That's if a better IEM hasn't taken its place yet.
If it's anything like the CB I suspect it'd be less bassy and much more detailed. In fact, I might just buy one soon anyway. The bassyness of the CB is really starting to get to me. It's so bassy. Too bassy. Basso indeed.
Yeah, they're poorfag tier, but with expensive ones I'd have to bother with DACs, amps, impendance and all other placebo shit.
Sennheiser PXC450s, HD595s and a Schiit Modi+Vali stack.
you fucking idiot the k702's have removeable cables,
also who FitEar monet master race?
Cost me 20$ and the sound is fucking great and neutral.
Get shit on niggas.
>how do you hang/display/etc your headphones while not in use?
I put it down on the desk. Why the fuck would I want it to hang from somewhere, it's not like I need deskspace when sleeping and if I'm awake at the desk then the cans are on my ears.
My HD595s came with a nice desk-clamp hanger that I use for the PXC450s now. My HD595s are hanging on a discrete math textbook on my bookshelf as it sticks out well beyond the other books.
If it wasn't for the clamping force I'd be all over them. GermanMaestro is good alternative to Beyer on the studio monitors line.
Holy fuck all these people talking about headphones. You sad that you can't blast the stereo like me? Surround sound with subwoofers and adjusted settings to perfectly fit my dick. I just let it scream.
It's not bassy because it's open, silly anon. Have you even heard open headphones?
I've been really tempted by the DT990s for a long time but some people say they have a harsh treble, it puts me off. What is the treble like? Does have a noticable texture?
I have speakers but I don't want my neighbours to know that I watch cartoons about little girls.
I had the same issue. I fixed the problem in 2 minutes. The earpads touch each other at stock, I simply bent the headband carefully so that they don't touch each other anymore.
I live in a house that could be rebuilt into a fucking farm. No neighbors, no trouble. Even if you live in an apartment, do you really need to have the volume up to the point where they can hear through the walls?
>Sennheiser because they are neutral with good build quality.
>reading FR without understanding acoustics
Okay mr. closedcans I see can why you're gravely misunderstanding.
It's not harsh at all. Your ears may vary but I've actually heard harsh treble which is painful and irritating so I know what that's like. People just like to misread FR charts or listen to music at super loud volumes. If you're not part of the latter, you'll find the 990's treble is very agreeable.
You'd have to be really fucking stupid to cause any of those to happen.
Even my HD595s, which I've admittedly treated like shit at times, only have a very small crack on the side, and that was because my imouto treated them even worse than I did.
I have a large pair of vintage Trio/Kenwoods, playing them quietly is difficult.
Good to know. I like the look of the Premium Edition and I have an amp to drive them.
I use €10 Philips earpieces on a shitty Acer laptop from 2008, and VLC as media player.
HS rips only, too.
Not even kidding.
ATTENTION, FLACEBO FAGGOTS.
Most anime don't even have high quality sound production. Not utter shit, obviously, but nothing hi-fi either.
You don't watch anime with sound encoding past ACC, using anything past PortaPro. Even something like Audio Technica ATH70 is an overkill.
>not listening to Baroque and Classical
>trying to justify 3d music
I love harpsichord and organ, I could listen to Baroque all day long and often do. Bach, Purcell, Telemann, Vivaldi, Pachelbel, Handel and more, it's my favourite era.
but this is a containment board have you seen the shitty waifu and haruhi threads? they post the same shit and the buy fag shit isn't even animu anymore its consumerism I bet people dont even watch anime they just read the summaries of wiki and shitpost on /a/
Sounds like you're just a bit mad that you can't play the pieces, anon
Here's a random page out of nise, you should be able to read this by now
akgs for anime and i use the krakens for when gaming
I was just joking around. What you're doing right now if pretty cringy to me actually.
In the first few lines is described: before araragi leaves, tsukihi wants to ask him one more thing, she asks if he quarreled/had a fight with karen lately.
LNs with anime adaptions are very much /a/ related
You were amazing, you also get a kitten. Although that's not ??that's ?
I've made the mistake of buying a Razer product in the past too. It's nothing to kill yourself over. Thankfully it was just a mouse. I wasn't stupid enough to buy a blackwidow or anything like that.
only bought the headphones because my ath 700s cable fucked up and i was without headphones for like a month so i just bought those. i dont mind them im not fussed about the quality.
I want those headphones so badly.
I have HD650s, but most of the time I use my AudioEngine A5 speakers. Headphones are nice, but they're just not as comfortable.
Previous owned SR60s, SR80s, ATH-M50, Denon D2000s, and AKG K701s.
They aren't bad if you buy refurb. I grabbed a Mamba off Woot for like $30. Definitely not worth the $120 MSRP but for $30 it's a solid mouse.
Can't say the same about the Lycosa, though. The firmware on it sucks and it'll just randomly get stuck keys to the point you have to unplug it and plug it back in again.
well now you can for only $1000
I bought the goliathus mousepad but it never arrived thanks to the company I was buying it from could only start to see shipping errors this June.
And thanks to my Chinese headphones and my lack of music knowledge it's not like I can tell the audio quality of what I'm hearing,
like my OP/ED rips
>$60 Panasonic Headphones
Because of the poor construction and my complete disregard they consist more of super glue and duct tape then their original material. Bass is still pretty good but I need more.
or $34 for some shitty cloth ones
like i said i use the headset for gaming. if you owned the akgs youd know they arent as good for gaming the bass isnt as good as the krakens. anyways i said it in my original post the akgs i use for anime and movies when theyre actually useful.
For the price they're good, they're comfy and they fit well. I've always had them for 3 years with no sign of wear and tear, and they're good for producing because of their pretty flat response. Some people say they're "too bassy" but I find them pretty okay. I do notice when I'm EQing lower end it is hard to determine how high the bass really is though, which is why I've been planning on getting some new headphones. But these have just been too reliable to get rid of.
>the bass isnt as good as the krakens
Learn too equalize. The only reason GAYMUR headphones have "more" bass is because they normally have a hardware EQ on board along with the DAC.
They still need to be broken in some more, there wasn't much noticeable difference between my 428s. Then again I've used my 428s every day for the past 4 years and hardly have any time with my 660s.
I would say the bass is good, but every time I wear them I get a headache because my head is kind of wide.
I bought this thing and installed it right next to my bed.
>SC doesn't sound that terrible
when i opened the package i realized its literally just a piece of plastic with foam in the middle thought it mightve been metal or something but nah. not gonna lie was a bit of a let down but the headphones were what mattered more so meh.
I think I'll stick with my banana holder.
Same. In white with lime green stitching and cable.
You could get a pair of CX200/300s or many other IEMs from way better brands for the same price, and they blow SC away. Even the OEM headset that came with my Galaxy S4 kicks the shit out of any SC phones I've ever tried.
>K701s straight out of a portable CD player
Basically, some soundcards don't output enough volume to make the music sound loud enough or good enough for high-quality headphones to maximize their potential. Amps both improve the volume as well as the sound itself (depending on the amp) so that the sound meshes well with your headphones.
I'd been looking into buying one, but don't really want to drop 100 plus on it. Also, are there any headphones that have built in amps? Curious, not looking to buy one but it seems like it would make sense to.
some headphones require more power to play music no only to boost the music but also to make it sound better by removing distortion (you can look it up it. Its pretty much sound changing because of not enough power) amps dont make headphones sound better. It is used to supply the power phones or computers are not capable of. That is why most people want audibly transparent amps.
If it was the Deathadder then you didn't fuck up at all, since it uses flawless optical sensor and has decent glide on feet. But if you don't play FPS games you've wasted your money. I hope you didn't buy some ''laser tracking over 9000 dpi'' shit.
AKG K550 over here. I can't stand anything below 320kbps. Assuming it's not accompanied by a video or something.
>not listening to your waifu with high quality headphones
I ordered these and they should be here by next week. Am I a cool kid now?
>not having headphones and speakers
I have these and it's probably one of the best purchases I've made. Headphones are great but good speakers are something else when listening to music.
This is what you're supposed to do with FLAC though. I mean, 320 kps is more common, but FLAC is only for storage and distribution. It's for getting around the whole "Ripping a ripped mp3 that sounds like ass" problem. There's no audible difference between a FLAC and an mp3 rip from that FLAC.
All electrostats need an amp. Point of the baby stax is it's a lot more portable. The SR-002's amp is pretty compact. My SR-003 uses the 5-pin pro connector though.
If you don't mind buying used you can get a deal on a lambda + amp through yahoo.jp auctions and whatnot.
Am I the only one who still has monoprice pieces? Pic related
Une lumiere envoutante, Servante du feu, and Relique abandonnee are my favorites.
Le pont de pierre and Flanerie have amazing passages that you can't appreciate on headphones or small speakers.
The recording quality of the OST is pretty amazing. You can hear the musician's clothing moving on one of the tracks.
Horns sound kind of echoey and harsh to me. These are Polk SDA-SRS 1.2TL. They're way too big for the room so unless I move into a large place I might sell them at some point.
I got a set of B52 Matrix-200s used for dirt cheap a while back, and they're great--for PAs--paired with a decent sub. I need to get some actual bookshelf/studio monitors eventually.
even $3 ones would make a difference
but for laptop you probably want something digital because noise from the analog out due to all the integrated cheap electronics
is there even something like this?
I drive DT770s through a FiiO E7 I bought to patch over the fact that my laptop's headphone port broke a few months ago. Looking to buy a tube amp sometime in the future, but for now I'm satisfied for the most part.
>rating people when nobody asked for your opinion
Always one autist who does this shit
>le happy trashman
That shitty forced meme needs to die.
If you're looking for something on the cheap, the Schiit Vali is a pretty solid beginner tube amp. You can't roll your own tubes because they're soldered in, but it's a good intro if you want to know if the tube sound is right for you.
I also have a really old pair of Sennheiser HD201s I use at work sometimes.
Seriously, how does one hate Kotonoha and Aphex Twin?
My nigga, personally I think Selected Ambient Works 2 is his best album, but they're all good.
I never grow tired of listening to Rhubarb
Oh, the album? Of course it is. I was talking about my wife. Most people hate Ueno because they just don't understand.
That's fucking stupid, why not just get some fucking etymotics for the go? That cannot be easy to carry around all the time.
How much for this plus an amp that can drive them?
Really want to get those.
I'm also a huge ambient buff. Laying in bed while listening to some ambient is also an experience. My favorite part is when I'm listening to something again and I notice layers of the song that I didn't notice the first listen. Or just going into a complete sound coffin and my entire world becomes the song.
Your level of understanding is only half. But lets not discuss this here. We're not in the right thread for it.
Damn, it's so rare to find someone like me on those things nigga. There's nothing like closing yourself on a sound coffin and immersing into some ambient stuff. If you were a 3DPD grill, I would totally call you on a date and
cuddle you tightly
Yep. Audio-Technica ATH-M50x.
I think I've seen her use random earbuds with no identifiable details.
They're great, good for the price. Some people complain about bass, but while they have more than some other headphones they are still very neutral. Some complain about the lack of soundstage... can't say they're wrong, but it's not too bad unless you want to use them to play games. Some complain that they aren't comfy, I guess it's because they have a rather strong clamp but I have a small head so they are fine for me. I tried every other option in that price range and there was always something wrong, then again I wanted to wear them in the metro so open backs and non-portable phone were out of the question. It's a well spent 130$. I'm kind of lucky that the store I went to was selling the version with detachable cable for the same prce as the regular one, I've seen it around 180$.
The fags who call them memephones and shit are just troll/hipster who hate on anything popular/ don't like them and are tired of hearing people talking about them.
>people actually using AND liking the memephones-m50
I'm also love classical style music. One of the big reasons I love downloading OSTs is because the emotional tracks use that kind of style for the most part. Erik Satie makes some amazing piano songs too. Gymnopédies being my favorite.
As an someone who only owns Sennheiser headphones, I really like the M50s, just not enough to but them. I'd like to get my hands on some DT 770s someday for reference.
Except for you middle choice you have good taste. Especially since earphones shouldn't really count.
i feel nothing but pity for you and your eardrums.
Do you know how hard is to find someone who actually feels the music, and not just says:
>I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE "EMOTION"
Damn, I'm all yours nigga. Let's learn some Cello/Piano since I've learned only guitar on Drop C and start a career.
