In what way?

The were 7 or so volumes of Chevalier D'eon on MT, I haven't been able to find them anywhere else and MU doesn't have a record of the group who did it.

Anyone, please?

This is just a random ftp server someone set up. The MT archive will be released at some point and a new site is in the works but this has nothing to do with either of them.

K so I'm sorting through Monster Collection to upload it, but I just noticed Volume 6 page 8 seems missing from my original download.

Anyone have it?
What do.
>>
>>110182947
The sole purpose of this retarded chapters before volume shit is to be able to sort series where you don't know which chapters are from what volume and maybe idiotic distinction between tank and magazine scans. Outside of that it's completely pointless.
>>
>>110183119
>The forced distinction between tank and mag scans makes renaming old releases a chore

The forced (mag) is unfortunate, but it must exist to ensure that extra chapters always sort in the right place.

>especially for volume bundles that mix scan sources.

(mix) was added to the spec a while ago for mixed archives like this.

And yeah, renaming old stuff can definitely be a chore, but it's for a good cause.
>>
>>110183119
And that's the reason you can write (mix), instead of (mag) or (vol00). And there's plenty of reasons to make that distinction, the most important ones being redraws and quality.
I don't see how it's a chore, anyway, since it takes less than 10 seconds to rename a file, and if you don't know what you have (it should be obvious if you have covers or not anyway), you could always write (mag) just in case, and keep going.
>>110183253
>Outside of that it's completely pointless.
So... it's not pointless?
>>
>>110183253
No matter what you say, chapters before volumes is the only way to fulfill all the goals of the scheme listed in the document.
>>
>>110183371
One easy way to identify magazine scans (if the overall image quality doesn't give it away instantly) is to look at chapter end pages - if there's a lot of extra crap in the margins, chances are it's a magazine release.
>>

Are you gonna upload them all yourself? I don't think so. If everyone does his part, this shouldn't be that hard. And it's not like you have to do it all on day one, or as if you have to sit down and keep working on it 8 hours a day. Just do what you feel like doing each day, ask for help, and by when it's finished, we'll have one of the best things ever.

>>
>>110183712
Not him, but I can see that being needed for incomplete scans, but for complete scans? If everything's already in the volume packs, then it's redundant as no new chapters will be added at any point.
>>
>>110184027
Get the fuck out.
>>
>>110184016
A single look in Complete folder should tell you why this scheme is stupid and redundant. And to name it properly you will have to go through each of them to add chapter numbers.

I think Daiz should do it himself.
>>
>>110183989
Some trade-offs are inevitable to ensure proper sorting. But at least you can always add the "real" name of any specials as extra information where it won't affect sorting.

>>
>>110184482
If you consider spreading misinformations a good way to work, fine, but some people like to have things organized. You haven't even started thinking from the right end - page naming.

Have you noticed that there are folders for ongoing and complete manga? That's organization that comes as naturally as it can. It's only reasonable to expect that files will be reorganized when series gets completed and then the your naming becomes pain. Why don't you go and fix the names for all the completed manga to prove how superior your idea is?
>>
I'm updating the spreadsheet, and in blade of the immortal, both mangaupdates and MAL list it as having 30 vols, but there's 31 in the folder. Does someone know about this?
>>110184779

>>
>>110184867
>If you consider spreading misinformations a good way to work

How is it spreading misinformation? It's placing the chapter in the right place where it should be, and you can have the "proper" name included as extra information too. I'd consider it a much bigger misinformation issue if it sorted into the wrong place.
>>

Because you guess the numbers to fit the scheme. Not the other way.

>extra information
If you think anybody is going to bother put an extra information there, you're delusional.

And look into the Completed folder, do you see anything sorted wrong? I ask you again, are you going to go through it and rename it or are you expecting others to do it for you and claim success?

>>110182480

>>110185490
>If changing the numbers from official is not on the same level or worse than guessing, I don't know what is.

How about changing the order from official? Again, I would call that a far bigger offense than adjusting the numbers somewhat so that it will always end up being in the right place.
>>
Is uploading 1.3 GB supposed to take 4 and a half hours
>>
>>110185490
How so? Put an example, please, because I'm not seeing it. You use the official numbers if there's any. If there isn't, then you use the chronological order of release. For special chapters, you use the last chapter and add a x1 (kinda like how some chapters are called 15.5, with this scheme, it would be called 15 x1). I don't see any guessing.

Sorry, but if you name files with decimal chapter numbers or non-numbers, you're never, ever going to cover all the corner cases and will end up with incorrect sorting. This is a fact. The scheme might require adjusting things like "chapter 15.5" into c015 x1, but it does guarantee that things will always sort properly and end up in the right place.

There are no corner cases that lasts forever with old scheme and any corner case can be dealt with using same rules as you propose. The main difference is that when series is complete, it goes away if you use volume numbers like everybody ever.

You're dumb. And, yeah, proving you're wrong is as easy as that. And we're working on it. Just because you're a lazy faggot that doesn't want to cooperate doesn't mean everyone is.

>there's nothing that I hate more than when there's a chapter wrong sorted in a manga, and I realize it when I finish it
You don't notice when plot gets broken? I think you have a bigger problem that naming.

It's not problem of naming anyway, it's caused because people can't organize shit they release or upload somewhere and that's won't get fixed by any scheme.

>Yeah, your "system" works in the end
Just for your information, it's not "my" system. Ordering releases in volume archives with volume number first is something that has been used consistently by every group and archival site since forever.

>Just because you're a lazy faggot that doesn't want to cooperate doesn't mean everyone is.

Because all stories have linear storytelling, right?

And that's the reason why we're trying to convince a few that they do it, so our work is lighter later, while you're completely unproductive.
>it's not "my" system
Ok, I should have said "the system you're talking about". Still, my point stands. The system is not good enough for this kind of site, no matter how long it has been used or by whom.
>You will realize sooner or later that it's not about laziness , but how many corner cases you will have to resolve and what will you end up with.

I am a /y/girl so if there's something else a bit rare that you're looking for I might have it, it would just take a while to upload.

I do. I read a bunch of manga from the rec charts like that. Only recently were some of them scanned, like A Single Match, Red Snow, Drifting Life. There's still lots of other manga like Ax that hasn't been scanned.
>>
>>110209400
So what, shit is out of print, and it was published by Tokyopop, so no reprints would be made. Are you saying stealing it to scan and upload to public is bad and only a few faggots who would actually check it up in library are worthy to read it?
>>
>>110209400
>>110209465
stop

>>110209465
>Are you saying stealing it to scan and upload to public is bad and only a few faggots who would actually check it up in library are worthy to read it?
Of course not. But why would you steal the book instead of just borrow it for scan or buy it if it's a second-hand store ?
>>
>>110209619
Because you'd have to debind it, in case when it's in the library.
>>
>>110209663

You got a point, didn't thought about that. Still don't like the idea though.

Sweed Jesus guise, I uploaded 20 gigs of h-manga yesterday and it's all gone now, what the fuck? Why? Who did this?
What's going on?
>>

I'm sorry, the server (and I) are both in Europe. I'm not comfortable with having loli out in the open like that.

Did you make a non-FTP backup at least?

The folder is still there with everything in it, I just turned up the permissions.

It's not rare, first thousand of english loli galleries on n-hentai
It's just that n-hentai could go down any day now

Just upload it to Mediafire or Mega, 50 gigs per account.

The book being out of prind doesn't mean it's impossible to find, you just don't want to pay more for it, your problem. And it doesn't give you the right to decide if it's right to steal it from a library.
Are you stupid?

I know, I mirror Ex locally as well, though free downloads from n-hentai are way faster

Different anon here. If we're still talking about Tokyopop release, no, some of them really are almost impossible to find, willing to pay or not.

I don't believe you. Search better, search in more sites than just Amazon and go to fucking cons, do they even have old comics at cons there, what the fuck are cons for otherwise?

>>
>>110211224
Where I am from cons started to be able find old comics, then came all the merchandising shit, publishers stand with new releases and catalogue and finally the cosplay cancer.
>>
>>110211196
I've tried tracking down the complete set of Lupin 3rd manga before. E-bay, Amazon, etc. Only scattered volumes here and there.

Orfina too. And a bunch of other Tokyopop titles that I can't remember right now. Feel free to not believe or you can try searching them yourself.

>cons
Those are the worst place to get stuffs from. The local comic book stores are marginally better but again, those stuffs are out of prints. If it was that easy I would have gotten them a long time ago.
>>
>/a/ - drawing the fine line on what counts as stealing
>>
>>110211340
>old comics
Doesn't directly mean rare. They're OUT OF PRINTS. Get it into your head.
>>
>>110211340
Tokyopop is fucking dead, no one would just take 12 year old publication of out-of-print manga to the con.
>>
>>110211364
Search in the market threads of Forums etc., for fuck's sake.
>>110211396
Don't make me laugh, you guys got manga in the 00's we got them in the 90's, we have a lot of out of print series, shit even a lot of new series don't get reprints. It's clear you don't know what you're talking about.
>>110211401
A lot of people do that here. Seems like you live in a shitty place.
>>
>>110211474
Why do I have the feeling that you live in France?
>>
>>110206970
Sure, if you like horse porn.
>>
>>110211474
>It's clear you don't know what you're talking about.
Sorry, but it sounds like it's you.
>>
>>110211491
Nah, even better, Italy.
>>
It's not like this argument is going to stop anyone. If I had to choose between a $500 OOP copy on Amazon, or a $30 fine from a library that probably would've tossed the book in the garbage when they became overstocked, so that more people can read it, I'd go with the library option. Hell, they might even sell you the book if you just ask.
>>
>>110211527
The old out of print series I got at the last con I went say you're wrong. Why can't you accept reality?
>>
>>110211535
I always forget which country has great manga market, France or Italy. Seems like it was Italy after all. That being said, because you're from Italy, you don't get to say anything in this. It's diffirent in countries other than Italy.
>>
>>110211552
The problem is when people don't scan it and keep it for themselves. Which is exactly what happens.
>>
>>110211474
>>110211578
>Search in the market threads of Forums etc
I dare bet with you that I've been buying manga much longer and have searched for more shit than you. Some of them simply aren't for sale. They just aren't. I can start listing all the action sites, obscure local comic book stores in my area and it won't matter.

>>110211578
So you found 1. Big deal. My original post was that you can't get the complete collection. You can't get ALL. I never said you can't get any. I managed to get some. But not ALL. That you managed to get 1 means jack shit.

Again, prove me wrong, show me an auction site or combination of sites, or whatever that sells all the complete Lupin III. Go on, I'm waiting. The last few volumes of Lupin, in particular.
>>
>>110211646
Would you scan them, by the way?
>>
>>110211591
No, it's either Taiwan or China. Not only more official releases, they're faster too.
>>
>>110211535
Are you the bro who was going to sing for us in another thread?
Still waiting for it.
>>
>>110211591
>I always forget which country has great manga market, France or Italy.
Definitely France and Belgium. But Italy have good licences too.
>>
>>110211591
Probably the market (number of licensed stuff) is better in France but we're close behind. We have some stuff they don't have too. Like Historie.
Anyway old out of print shit is the same everywhere and, fuck, Murrica got like 5 times more population than Italy, can't believe no one is willing to sell some manga.
>>110211646
Usually it's more easy to find entire collections than single volumes. It seems like the mindset of people is different, between the two countries.
>>110211684
It was a joke.
>>
>>110211713
France/Italy had Mankatsu DVD release. I'm still jelly. I have these fucking DVDs on my HDD and I don't understand a single word.
>>
Before the thread 404's, just want to say that I'd be willing to buy and scan Lupin III, but some of the Most Wanted volumes are expensive as hell.
>>
>>110211823
How can we get in contact with you?
>>
Is it an idea to maybe include a text file in every directory with information on the manga, like the author, artist, etc? I might have a fun idea.
>>
Can we set up an irc channel or something?
>>
>>110211836

Why would you need to? Unless you're sending me money or a Lupin volume that you found. I'll post on /a/ if I ever get around to scanning them.
>>
>>110211401
The comic shop I go to has a bunch of old Tokyopop manga, including the entirety of Mars which has had a few OOP volumes for a while. And I've bought some other OOP stuff there like Four Shoujo Stories, Five Star Stories, Swan, Eroica, Domu, Ginga Legend Weed, ect. Honestly if anyone here is super desperate for Lupin drop your e-mail and I'll message you if I go there and see any volumes. They bring all their stock to cons so I can't guarantee they have as much as they used to, plus they're at one this weekend.
>>
>>110211310
Sent you a message about the issue.
>>
>>110211823
Just ask a Italianfag, we got the series over here too and it doesn't cost that much. I can't do that because I'm a neet and already have to buy other stuff.
>>
>>110211878
I mean, lurking archive for all "Lupin III" threads would be dreary.
>>
>>110204926
Town of Evening Calm, I if you could.
>>
>>110211951
Get TP releases or TL from Italian to English? If it's the latter, do note that TP's translations aren't exactly the most reliable to begin with.

Guys, please create a new thread, this one will die within minutes.
