The TV presenter mentioned how it was Nagate and Hoshijiro's return after three weeks.
She also mentions how they were adrift for 11 days.

If the Guardian team went after the pair immediately after the battle, it's kind of difficult to think it taking an entire 11 days, even with the continuous momentum by N & H.
I would imagine they had some argument for a few days back in Sidonia over whether they should go out there or not, then boosted out, leaving trails of small relaying elements along the way.

And since Sidonia kept moving on and adding distance, the return trip ended up taking longer, lasting 10 days.
Imagine getting crammed in a guardian cockpit for 21 days, of which 10 with Tsuruuchi.
