Kill la Kill thread
Kamui book is out, we need translators
Why didn't Trigger end up giving Ryuko these beautiful and thick eyebrows?
But they gave her thick eyebrows one time.
The episode before the reveal.
Some info about the OVA
I wonder if they'll fix that
Sushio hasn't posted anything on Twitter about it, and he's already passed that episode since the last few things he posted were facial fixes(and making Satsuki less QUALITY) in episodes 21 and 24.
I guess that would be considered a minor fix though.
>less than 100 days remaining
the fuck am I going to do with the 3 Ryuuko figures I ordered? I have nowhere to put them.
Oh man those were horrible times. That fucking retarded theory of her being a hybrid.
Buy a shelf. Put them on your desk, I don't know.
Paint one in Junketsu colors, and have them reenact Ryuko's moral dilemmas.
>Oh man those were horrible times. That fucking retarded theory of her being a hybrid.
>implying it was that bad
Might have made the ending a whole lot better if it turned out true.
This picture should have had the Ryuko in the middle be naked and not wearing Senketsu, there's the dilemma.
There is no worse theory than the 7 scissors of the rainbow.
It's because Nui's scissors were purple, and the one in the flashback were blue, so people assumed she was lying about killing Isshin and instead there had to be 7 different scissors, and Ryuko would have to find them all.
Why couldn't they have had Aikuro at least mention "oh shit Soichiro my genius scientist relative who died suspiciously in a car accident was Isshin?!"
The last few episodes were animated by the seat of their pants, it's actually not particularly relevant information, it gives some motive to Aikuro but it's not exactly doing the main story any favors. I think Trigger actually made the right call, the only real wastes of time were Hallelujahs which I'd imagine are overwhelmingly more popular from the perspective of someone understanding all the puns being made.
Well actually according to twitter talk about the Kamui book, since nobody's actually translating it right now, and it's big goddam book it could be anywhere.
The other twitter kamui book spoiler was that Senketsu was made from Kinue.
That was a rumor before the book came out and hasn't been found in the Kamui book, actually we can probably guess that it isn't true because if it was Japan would be reacting to it since you know, they can actually read the book.
>Monkey never got his rematch
>Ryuko wasn't the one to slash the life fibers from his eyelids
Ragyo told her when she was in Bakemono mode
Ep 23 was amazing for him so I'm not mad.
Holy shit that actually makes sense.
>Who is this strange man talking to me?
>His hair reminds me of my imouto
>I love my imouto.
Don't worry Satsukifreind, I've got your back.
Now it's the best one though.
He gets to rebuild the world with his heterosexual bro, what could be better than that?
Too bad about his sister though.
tfw he was pointing a gun at the last remnants of Kinue in episode 5
He already got the best he could hope for:
Somehow not dying even though he did the same retarded thing over and over against a basically invincible enemy.
>Women as sharp as sharpened blades clash and scatter sparks. The girl who took up the Half-Scissor to find her father's murderer -- Matoi Ryuuko. The girl who drew Bakuzan to pierce her destiny -- Kiryuuin Satsuki. And their mother, who stands before them -- Kiryuuin Ragyou. Kill la Kill's story revolves around their burning battle.
>At first, Ryuuko was alone. She was a dangerous girl who attacked anyone who might know of her father's murder and threatened them with the Scissor sword. But strange and odd characters begin to gather around this unstable element. Mankanshoku Mako, Mikisugi Aikuro, Kinagase Tsugumu... people who would come barging into your heart. Before long, they would understand Ryuuko and embrace her battle-scarred form. It wasn't mere friendship, something much more profound supported Ryuuko.
>The totalitarian ruler of Honnouji Academy, Satsuki, stands in Ryuuko's way. The Four Deva dead-loyal to Satsuki and Honnouji's students challenge Ryuuko as if to prepare her for something.
>For what? And for whom?
>What on earth is Ragyou planning?
>Something inexplicable and odd connects the characters and produces waves. And those waves change the world. It's a paean that accepts people for who they are. Kill la Kill is a dramatic story of women that slice apart the world and sew it back together.
Should I translate the character shit too
I think he might have had little chance with her if she wasn't so in love with her sister and so focused on her mission and resolve.
I mean, he's not a goof, he's good looking, his haircut is probably a plus for her-- who knows?
It's from some couple walking in the rain, the guy says "I love waking in the rain with my lover, it gives me a special feeling" or something like that, and the girl he's walking with is embarrassed. Shipperfags took that and ran with it.
>You utterly disappoint me, Matoi!
>Perpetually frowning caterpillar eyebrows bitch!
>I love you, nee-san.
>I love you too.
Just like real sisters

Yeah I forgot it was during the winter, I guess my mind immediately went to Rain because I remembered the umbrella.
It's almost like you're begging for us to start posting.
>Ryuuko and Satsuki
Well that's understandable, I mean they're kinda--
>Ragyo and Nonon
Murder him and fuck the body.
Character Map cont.
>The other main character. As the Student Counci President of Honnouji, she rules with an iron first and the power of Extreme Uniforms. She's calm and cold-blooded. She only reveals her true goal to a select few, and sharpens the claws of ambition. Her battle began over ten years ago.

...So just replace the smartphones with slabs and make the Inu's laptops bigger?
Heh, Inumuta's Uniforms would be bigger than Gama.
>KLK 90's remake
Well, KLK is quite 80's already so what would look like a 90's one?
>Female characters wearing big ass round earrings
>Masami Okui sings the OP or ED
>Takehito Koyasu voices someone
>Megumi Hayashibara voices someone
>The rest is basically the same from the technical point of view
Hey translatorfriend can you also translate this little comic by Sushio?
>The three years of Heaven and Hell while working on Kill la Kill
>[Character Design/Animation Director]
>Animator, Mechanic Sakuga Director for "Aim for the Top 2!", PSG animation director, concept artist for outfits in Momoiro Clover Z's "Z Girl War"
>The Characters were born from Design Teams
>Q: How did you feel when Imaishi first approached you for character designs?
>S: I first heard it was like "Crows", so I thought it was right up my alley. I was like "alright then", and then it turns out the main character is a girl: "b-but I'm not good at drawing bishoujo!" Try as I might, I just couldn't do it.
>Q: It was hard to draw cute girls?
>S: Yes. I knew my drawings aren't "cute", so I thought me doing the designs won't go well.
>Q: I see. I heard that character designs were decided at weekly meetings, starting from 5 in the afternoon and going non-stop until very late at night.
>S: We took a few breaks in-between while talking about random things. I'd be drawing for 7-8 hours. Character designs took a while to get through but the actual meeting was very fun. With the breaks added, it only felt like four hours.
>Q: What were the meetings like?
>S: I just kept drawing and drawing with Koyama Shigeto-san and Waka-sama (Wakabayashi Hiroumi), Amecchi (Ameya Akira), and Imaishi-san. They were all adults unlike me, so sometimes they would rough-sketch stimulating pics for me while saying "You like stuff like this right?"
>By sharing early designs, sometimes we opened doors that I didn't know were there before, or lots of new ideas would get added to a design, so it was exciting.
It looks like they're still fucking around with Konjac.
I wish they had assmousepads for them as well.
>Inu: As expected, the konnyaku cut by Mankanshoku are shaped weird, we can't use them for Smart Konnyaku Phones
>Satsuki: It'd be a waste to throw them away, send them as test products to "that" production team
>S: GUAAA it's cold!
>G: Bear with it, this is for Satsuki-sama
>Satsuki: Get it done by the Summer event!
>Soroi: Yes ma'am
Sounds like a yaoi doujin.
>a bunch of older men ganging up on younger insecure dude, constantly drawing pics of buff naked dudes and teasing him about liking that stuff until eventually the fucking begins
Sushio interview cont.
>S: If it weren't for this team, I don't think the character designs could've made it through.
>Q: You decided on the color schemes as well, correct?
>S: That's right, Waka-sama and Koyama-san would add color to the sketches on the spot. We would discuss which colors work best. We'd decide on the general direction [for that character] at that stage, so it became easier to understand the characters.
>Q: Who was the first character to get finalized?
>S: It took a while for Ryuuko and Satsuki to get completed, so I drew mob characters first.
>Q: You started from there?
>S: Usually when you're watching anime, there isn't a whole lot of love given to the background mobs. And they would be drawn without a lot of attention, so they're not likable. Mob characters represent the show's world, so I spent a lot of time on mob characters and I want anime shows to draw them more carefully from now on.
>Q: You say you're not good at drawing cute girls, but how did you finalize the designs for female characters like Hououmaru or Nui?
>S: Those two were easy to draw. Ishida Keiko-san is an animator who draws cute girls very well, so I pulled out her works. I drew inspiration from the details given to eyes, and the hair curls are also influenced by Ishida-san. Hououmaru was inspired by Itou-san's art from Sailor Moon, so I think her eyes are a bit like a bunny's.
Below: First rough sketches for Matoi Ryuuko
Bottom: Some 3D Model designer answering questions
>1) I like all the transformation scenes
>2) Matoi Ryuuko, she's exactly my type.
>3) A mob character in the student council, I want to be physically blown away by the battles.
>4) Please make me a Honnouji Academy student too
>N: I wanna see~
>N: The face of a person who gets their life's work destroyed by their own daughter
>N: I really wanna see that~
>H: Nice taste you have there
>N: Ah! Ragyou-sama
>H: Is something the matter?
>so I think her eyes are a bit like a bunny's.
I think he meant Usagi, the main character.
Translator-Kun, Translator-kun, can you please tell me what Senketsu did?
I have to know if it's lewd or cute, it's quite suspenseful.
>Rule 63 Gamako
I'm conflicted. Though I do like the thought of Gamagirly skydiving while laughing maniacally.
>Q: So it's easier to draw cute girls if you think of them as designed by other animators?
>S: Nui and Hououmaru were VERY easy to draw.
>Q: Why exactly did it take so long to finalize Ryuuko and Satsuki?
>S: Something about them didn't quite click for me. There's something off but I don't know what. The rough sketches have a nice feel to them, but there's something missing. For a while I couldn't find the answer and I almost wanted to quit drawing... like that.
>Q: I heard it took a year and a half to finalize the character design for Ryuuko.
>S: It almost drove me mad. Even in daily life, "what to do with Ryuuko" was constantly stuck in my mind. It's like thinking "I gotta study" during entrance exam prep. Ryuuko was on my mind for a long time.
>Q: When did you break out of it?
>S: Completely by coincidence. One day, I drew a pic and thought "huh, maybe this is it". I took it over to Imaishi-san and he OK'd it. I knew my senses were right.
Yes I misread that, sorry
>R: Senketsu, you're a clothing, so (smooch)
>R: it wouldn't show if I kissed you right?
>S: Let's see if it works when I do it
>R: Wouldn't it be impossible with your mouth?
>R: Hyahahaha that tickles (Hee hee)
>S: Hey, stay still
>R: Yow! Your fang nicked me for a sec
>R: I can't see anything but I get the general idea
>It's a big bruise right
>S: Yeah, it looks pretty painful
>R: You're the one who did it!
Ohh, that's both cute and lewd. Thank you, translator-kun.
You shut your fucking mouth.
I sweear, if they don't make a cool make over montage while http://youtu.be/IGVZOLV9SPo?t=1m48s plays, I'll be pissed.
This interivew is 2long
>Energized by the character's words
>Q: After the character designs were finished, I imagine there were more chances to draw Ryuuko and Satsuki once the animation and advertising process started. How did that go?
>S: Whenever I thought "I have to draw them cute!", I felt that I would lock up and be unable to draw Ryuuko and Satsuki anymore. This weird complex would act up every time. "Oh, this doesn't look cute at all, it's shit", like that (laughs). For example, when I drew Ryuuko for a newspaper ad, I did it while being physically and mentally exhausted. I thought "Maybe I can draw something great when I feel ragged". And the cover for BD Volume 1 was drawn when I was especially tired.
>Q: It's almost like ascetic training!
>S: I tried to be dog-tired for Volume 2's Satsuki too. "Oh, I should draw it right now" (laughs). But when I come to work in the mornings, I'm too full of hype and can't draw very well. And I'd end up drawing lots of mob characters again.
>Q: When you were drawing the main story, how did Ryuuko, Satsuki and Mako work?
>S: All three of them were terrible during Episode 1. I thought "I can't do this, I can't!" Even if I did the character designs, I couldn't draw them now. And as the animation director, I was always fixing the mob characters' lines first (laughs). So the quality of mob characters in Volume 1 was especially high.
>Q: So that's how it was. When did you get used to it?
>S: For Mako, it was Episode 4. That cut where she picks up the cheese, I drew her very round-ish. And that experience paid off for Episode 7. She got very flexible after Episode 7. And I had her down by Episode 12.
>Q: We often see rabbits around Mako. Where did they come from?
>S: Oh, the bunnies? Mako keeps them inside her.
>Oh, the bunnies? Mako keeps them inside her.
>Q: Eh!? She keeps them inside her body?
>S: Yes yes. So they appear around her. Sometimes in her clothes, sometimes in her mouth...
>Q: I had no idea. That's quite a surprise (laughs). How about Ryuuko?
>S: I got the hang of drawing Ryuuko in Episode 7. When Mako is about to eat a croquette with Jack Naito's knife, I drew Ryuuko with this really great expression. "Oh, so Ryuuko's face works like this!" When I caught the moment she relaxed around Mako, I understood her personality. But I fell into a rut again in Episode 10. There was a moment where I forgot how to draw her.
>Q: Oh no, really?
>S: After that, Ryuuko entered this sulking/brooding period, and her Go Nagai expressions were easy to draw. Then... I finally remembered how to draw her in Episode 24. "Ahh, yes, that's it."
>Q: In the finale (laughs).
>S: So Episode 24 is a completion of all the agonizing I went through.
>Q: On your Twitter account, you mentioned the "sense of Ryuuko jumping out of the page" while working on Episode 24. What did that mean?
>S: On the cut where Ryuuko was screaming "Humans are humans, and clothes are clothes", I was profoundly moved even if it was just a sketch. I felt like I was drawing something amazing.
Bottom: an animator answers the same questions as before
>1) The exchange between Satsuki and Soroi in Episode 17.
>2) Satsuki, because she's cute.
>3) Swim Club, because I like swimming
>4) I did my best.
He looks disgusted. Poor guy.
I assume the questions are:
>1) what is your favorite scene
>2) who's your favorite character
>3) what kind of student would you be in Honnouji academy
>4) no fucking idea
>Oh, the bunnies? Mako keeps them inside her.
Well, that's kinda creepy, yet oddly cute in weird way.
She definitely has western cartoon characteristics.
>I felt like I was drawing something amazing.
It's too bad he wasn't. The worst part about these things is how proud trigger is of them. It's like that cripple who thinks he won something and nobody wants to be the guy who points out that he's an eternal failure.
Show me what you can make under limited time and budget. C'mon buddy.
Show me why you know what you know. Show me your experience.
>Q: So that's how it went. You also once mentioned getting encouraged by Ryuuko's words, when did that happen?
>S: That was from Episode 15. Ryuuko shouted "This is how I survive!", and until then I was physically and mentally drained. I couldn't even put in fixes as the animation director. And just as I felt that I couldn't protect the quality of art any more, those words came to me, and I thought I could keep going once I got past this hurdle. There were several tough moments like that.
>Q: I see. Tell me about Satsuki too; when did she click for you?
>S: I completed Satsuki in Episode 24 too (laughs). Satsuki was even harder than Ryuuko to draw. I left it all up to Yoneyama Mai-san, I was running away from her (laughs). But I had to draw her myself in Episode 24, as the animation director, and when I drew her standing with the others nude, I thought she had a nice expression. Took me long enough, you might say (laughs). I thought I really mastered Satsuki in that close-up to her face after she saved Ryuuko.
>The rise of young talent and Tsurumark genes
>Q: What kind of animation were you initially aiming for in KLK?
>S: At first I wanted to follow the mood in "Lupin III: Plot of the Fuma Clan" and "Lupin III: Lupin vs Mystery of Mamo". There's a car chase scene that Tanaka-san drew in Fuma Clan, and it's an action scene, but a humorous one too.
>I mean, he's not a goof, he's good looking, his haircut is probably a plus for her-- who knows
I assume Ryuko doesn't like him and wouldn't approve.
>I thought she had a nice expression. Took me long enough, you might say (laughs). I thought I really mastered Satsuki in that close-up to her face after she saved Ryuuko.
As much I hate the finale and hate Satsuki after 18, I can't really find fault with that. That was a really, really well-drawn face.
The Sushio march continues
>S: There are plenty of cool action scenes, but humorous action is relatively rare, I think. Doesn't it feel great to laugh? I think laughing at something leaves a stronger impression than just being impressed by how cool it is. So from the start, I wanted to make the animation fun and humorous. And I felt confident that I could do this after looking at Imaishi-san's prep for Episode 1. Leave the gag scenes to me!
>Q: Episode 1... would that be the deep-fried humans?
>S: Yes. The Fried People jump on the rim of the oil tub, but they slip and fall in. I put a lot of time into details and layout like that. I almost put off the Ryuuko scene fixes for later. And the Fried People animation was done by Sakamoto Masaru.
>Q: The gag expert (laughs).
>S: Other than that, I focused on simple but effective movements. For Episode 4, we had a lot of "fluttering". How the wind blows, and waving/bending depending on the situation. The wind you get from dust clouds and sudden gales have different "waves" too. But most animators didn't notice that. They all make the "flutters" one-patterned, and that's not very fun. I wanted them to be more observant.
>Q: As episodes progressed, I'm sure the younger animators at Trigger were rearing their heads more on-site. Looking back, what do you think of their growth?
Best Girl will always be 63 Gamagori.
>Side character that got little to no character development
Yeah no, i love Nonon but i need a little more than Nani Sore and a nice ass to call someone "best girl".
Best Girl is Sankats
I'll admit i only like it for the cuteness of the character, i never even knew about the nani sore may may, still her fucking Nudist Beach uniform, and that regalia:Finale was delicious.
>S: The young animators who worked on Little Witch Academia all joined Trigger. After they'd finished their first project, I thought they had gotten better. So when I looked at their actual skills, I initially thought "this ain't going to be good". If I don't knuckle down and train them properly, it wouldn't end well for me either.
>Q: So it was more of a struggle in the beginning.
>S: Definitely. But the ones with more talent/innate sense got better with each episode. And it was very nice to see them get better. I taught them more and more things.
>Q: How did you teach them?
>S: I grilled/fixed mistakes on the spot, and did that over and over again. And if they had questions, I would suggest things like "think of how soft Yasuhiko Yoshikazu draws his characters' feet". Or show them Otokogumi.
>Q: In the end, the newcomers Yoneyama-san, Iwasaki Shouta-san, Sakamoto-san, and Handa(?) Shuuhei-san were on-site.
>S: They were a great help for the latter half of the series. I had Yoneyama-san draw Satsuki, and Iwasaki-san handled Mikisugi. They drew a lot of great expressions for Satsuki and Mikisugi in the episodes they were in charge of. And finally, they'd take over the characters completely. They really supported the work site.
>Q: Would you say that was stimulating for you too?
>S: Absolutely. I'm the type that wants to make every art my style when I'm in charge... (cont)
She didn't turn to shit and nobody complains about her. That's enough to qualify her for best girl status here.
>It gives me a feeling snow complicated
Misaka translated some KLK interviews in the past, also a real-life buddy
We both have finals coming up soon though, so I may not be able to cover later scans until mid-June
>How does it stay on
So it seems that the main reason they had difficulties with the animation was because almost all of them were amateurs?
Sushio pretty much said the same as Yoshinari said in LWA. It was kinda difficult to teach them since they had a lot of points to correct over and over again. They weren't joking when they said that traditional animators are almost extinct in the business.
The good thing is that these young animators have aquired more experience now.
Does that make Ragyo DIO?
And Satsuki Joseph?
Thank you, best namefag
>(cut off)...plenty of that, and there wasn't time to worry over it. And I was pretty much at my limit, so it was a relief to have competent people take over. In the end, I was able to rely on others and accept the talent in my kouhai's work. I would think, "oh if I hand this pic to the photographer it would end up fine", and trust other staff members to handle cuts. I feel like I've matured a bit in that respect. I would've never thought I could become a person like that.
>Q: So newcomers and veterans mature alike.
>S: And I've discovered a few new things about myself in the process. I think both Imaishi-san and I have Tsurumaki Kazuya's genes. The way we present layouts and get rid of unnecessary motions - even if our genres are different, our forms of presenting are alike.
>Q: Ohh, is that right?
>S: I've talked about this with Imaishi-san too. The Tsurumaki genes are amazing! We were both taught by Tsurumaki-san, and I suppose we inherited his sense as well. So I was able to look back on my roots while working on KLK.
>The fans' cheers from the Internet
>Q: So Kill la Kill has been completed. How were the past three years?
>S: Heaven and hell. Sometimes it was paradise, and sometimes literal hell (laughs).
That's a good point though.
"Oh guys, we're rushing to get the final episode out this week!!!!"
>obvious rushed ending
Unless it took 3 years to settle on characters and the plot of the first cour, then they decided, "We're ready to launch the anime! We'll figure out the rest as we go."
Nah. Joseph seems more appropriate. Think about it.
>former badass turned chump in order to show off the new protagonist
>is incapacitated and out of the picture during the final battle
And finally, Satsuki hates MILFs. She's no Kakyoin.
Sushi sounds delicious
>S: As for the final product, (cut off)
>S: (cut off) ...and I'm quite satisfied. But the workload was far too brutal. It was fun when I was drawing, but every time I got up to head to the bathroom, I'd think "this is grueling" (laughs).
>S: I'd think "I can't handle this shit!" And when I'm sitting on the toilet, I think to myself that I'm practically a slave.
>Q: What an immense contrast.
>S: I say to myself "This is too much! I'm gonna quit anime!" But once I get back to my seat and resume drawing, it's fun.
>Q: Thank you for your hard work.
>S: But this time around, feeling the intense enthusiasm and passion from the fans on Twitter really helped me. If I tweeted, "can you give me a cool song that gets you excited", they'd all give me suggestions. They're so nice.
>Q: They really helped, huh?
>S: Thanks to them, I looked at the completed art for Ryuuko at peace in the finale and thought, "this isn't right", and actually went back to redraw the whole thing.
>S: I was super tired, but there was something nagging at me. "Something's off." When I listened to some music and got my groove on, I began to see it. It was finalized and approved art, but I took it back to my seat and redrew it from the bottom up. And I felt in sync with Ami Koshimizu-san, who was the VA for Ryuuko. I drew something really good, and took it over to Yoneyama-san to ask his opinion on it.
>Q: Showing off to your kouhai, I see (laughs). And the art leveled up.
>S: Also, I was really happy about the fan art on Pixiv. A lot of the so-called "great" art on Pixiv are mainly characters just sitting or standing, just those two poses, and I thought they didn't have very much movement. But I feel the artists for KLK illustrations were trying to make them move and come to life. I was really happy about that.
>Q: Especially that "Scissor Relay" someone started online, that really had the characters moving.
to be cont.
I'd brave anything for pure vampire waifu with cool older woman voice.
>"Oh guys, we're rushing to get the final episode out this week!!!!"
They meant the animation when they said that. Do you really think they made the script and got all the VAs to record everything in a fucking week?
Do you think Ryuko faked flying off to the naked sun and just flew back to fuck with Nui after Ragyo left?
>S: Oh yes. Poses where the character(s) is reaching out with their hands are wonderful. It doesn't matter if the pic isn't very good, or distorted. As an animator, their efforts to make something move was very gratifying to see. That was amazing...
>Q: The Scissor Relay really heated up with fans from all over the world.
>S: I was moved by the fact that people who obviously hadn't drawn much in their life contributed too. Wouldn't that mean we moved them too? That's something huge.
>Q: Prior to the finale airing, I was astonished at how something like that could happen.
>S: I agree. Thanks to Twitter, [this show] connected with that kind of drive. It really got me fired up.
I believe that's it... unless you fags want the encyclopedia too >>107874182
Translator dude just called me a fag.
Hey Translator dude, why do you think Nui is shit?
Not to argue or anything, I just want to know your reasoning is all.
>Satsuki shouldn't accepted that loser back even after he blinded himself.
Well now they can be losers together. Her, Monkey, and Tsumugu.
monkey a shit
a big, steaming shit
Satsuki shouldn't have accepted that loser back even after he blinded himself.
I mean even with his mind's eye power up he was unable to defeat Takarada's fodder.
I doubt he would have made it through the natural's election without his three star uniform.
And he's a shitty leader too, considering how well his sports clubs fared.
>Father of Kiryuuin Satsuki and Matoi Ryuuko. After he failed to assimilate Life Fibers and humans by experimenting on his two daughters, he vows to foil Ragyou's plans. When he told Satsuki that Kamui Junketsu was her bridal gown, he also told her about the Life Fibers, COVERS, and Kiryuuin Ragyou's ambition. Though "killed" by the Kiryuuin Family's head butler Kuroido, he faked his death via fireproof suit and escaped. He changed his name and appearance to Matoi Isshin, and founded Nudist Beach while raising Ryuuko. He began the Anti-Life Fibers Movement.
I just came back from fanime, shit ton of snk stuff,
I was so apathetic there was literately only 2 kill la kill wall scrolls there, luckily i found this one.
fucking huge too, I hope next year they will have more kill la kill swag to buy.
The closest he ever came to not losing was his rematch with Ryuuko but up managed to fuck that up too.
To tell the truth, I actually really liked Nui in her first appearance
But her appearances were ill timed and became too frequent over time, she devolved from a menacing unpredictable force to an annoying second-rate villain.
Despite that I don't really hate her, just indifferent
I'm sure most of /a/ don't seriously hate an anime girl
Most of her fans were absolute cancer though, so my trip is an act of protest, then again the Takaradafags were the worst of the worst so idk
Yeah I'm going to San Japan and hoping there's some decent KLK merch. I need a new wallscroll to replace an embarrassing one anyway.
Did you get any info on the artist of that?
>then again the Takaradafags were the worst of the worst so idk
I miss them. I'd rather argue with them about Honnouji vs. Osaka and the pros and cons of each one's economy than this bullshit.
She was instrumental to Ryuuko's final victory and won her imouto's love and admiration by the end of the series.
If that's not winning I don't know what is.
Meanwhile monkey is still a moron with a tiny penis who will never get his rematch with Ryuuko that he would inevitably lose anyway.
It would feel very forced. They went out of their way to make everything go back to normal in the last episode, so having all the weird stuff come back for the sake of 24 more episodes would feel pretty unsatisfying.
Official KLK character power rankings:
>Pretty cool dudes
>Mako's cool but fuck Hallelujah scenes balance
>OK but irrelevant
There are other members of the Makanshoku Family?
>Sealed Elder God Zero Tier:
>tfw I missed the livestream for Episode 20 and his glorious comeback
I agree, it would be nice if they moved away from the DOSH shit and talked about how the motherfucker built a fucking aircraft carrier underneath his city, while building a thriving economy as a cover for said ship.
all honesty I got it for nonon.
mfw no pillow waifu of nonon
>She was instrumental to Ryuuko's final victory and won her imouto's love and admiration by the end of the series.
I'm just going to make this quick and do it point-form so we aren't at this all day.
-Satsuki was about as "instrumental" as anyone else. All she did was give her some Life Fibers. That's it. She was useless outside of that.
-She was going to end up with Ryuuko no matter what. Despite the fact that they have virtually no relationship, they end up together. Satsuki literally catches her out of the sky.
-Monkey is a moron and jobber with a tiny penis. Satsuki is a moron and jobber with a tiny haircut.
There, done. That's my opinion. It's always been my opinion. Simply take it as my opinion.
>-Satsuki was about as "instrumental" as anyone else.
Uh, no, because she was the leader. She was pulling everybody's strings, including Ryuuko's.
>-She was going to end up with Ryuuko no matter what.
That's just asinine. They could have easily continued hating each other.
Your homolust for monkey is impeding your rational thought anon.
>mfw people are arguing over the relevance of a side character in a 24 ep anime that was heavily focused around the MC
>You've admitted to being influenced by other people in to this opinion you currently have today.
That was for another thing. I used to enjoy episode 22, and I still find it somewhat of a guilty pleasure. Now I see it as the last watchable thing in the series. By no means any good, but at least watchable.
Monkey? If you're saying that Satsuki is no more than a side character, I agree fully, despite whatever Trigger may say.
Why rationalize not trying? If monkey is such hot shit tell me why. Tell me about all the great things he's done.
And please note that criticizing Satsuki isn't going to make monkey any better.
I want Ragyo and Sukuyo to both try to teach me how to masturbate properly like a good mother should only for them to get into an argument decide to compete to see who I think is the best.
You admitted the other day that your Satsuki act is all bait, but considering how hot and bothered you get when someone replies, I wonder who is the one getting baited.
She is a main character, but she's not a lead character or a deuteragonist.
You really think I give a shit about Monkey? That I'm trying to glorify him? You are new here.
And there you go hyperbolizing again.
She's a main character in the same sense Mako is. Still, it's a pity that we got something so weak and pathetic in the end. It's a greater pity knowing that they'd planned things for her, she just wasn't deemed important enough.
I was talking about Uzu. People don't realize, or don't want to realize, that the Devas were all comedic relief side characters. They all got some cool moments, but in the end, that's what they were.
Sanageyama shows this best. He got some really badass moments, like when he beat the shit out of Ryuko, his fight against Takarada, his eye reveal in ep 23, and he also got wrecked a bunch of times like in episodes 11(or whenever the fuck Nui showed up the first time) and 24.
The same goes for the other 3. Gama got it easy at the end because he had a crush on Trigger's waifu.
He doesn't care about monkey, he's autistic and obsessed with Satsuki. Literally every single time there's a post about her in these threads he has to reply to it.
You admitted to only being slightly disappointed at the finale to now hating the entire show and none of the arguments you use are ones you thought of yourself. You probably can't actually think of an argument yourself.
>You really think I give a shit about Monkey?
You're pretty desperate to defend his honor. You seemed embarrassed to admit this though.
>You are new here.
You think I ought to recognize you, you anonymous retard?
Well, maybe I should. Maybe you're the same monkeyfag so desperate to defend his husbando every time he's mentioned.
Obviously, but will it feature more Senketsu?
Indeed. The greatest of pity.
It's called mulling it over for a few days. And I love how you can hate me for my work yet refuse to give me any of the credit.
>It's called mulling it over for a few days
No, it's called stealing other peoples arguments and using them as your own. It's obvious because people have stopped making arguments against Satsuki, so you can't use any new material.
Either you're very very easily influenced or you're shitposting, but at least usually when people shitpost they think of their own stuff.
>And I love how you can hate me for my work yet
What work and why would I hate you? You ARE autistic or a very dedicated shitposter. Possibly both. You sit in these threads for hours and reply to people every single time they mention Satsuki. Claim you hate her now if you want, but you are clearly still obsessed with this bitch, nigga.
>He got some really badass moments
>like when he beat the shit out of Ryuko
Just before he failed to defeat her.
>his fight against Takarada,
Just after Satsuki saved him from the cannon fodder. Also he defeated Takarada in what is literally the gayest way possible.
>his eye reveal in ep 23
Yeah, his final power up, which still didn't make him strong enough to harm Ragyo in any way or break the life fiber jammer even with the help of 100 one star students.
Monkey is a joke.
>No, it's called stealing other peoples arguments and using them as your own.
>from an anonymous imageboard
You're adorable, do you know that?
Anyway, does anyone have any new scans, or are we doing this for the rest of the thread?
>I was talking about Uzu. People don't realize, or don't want to realize, that the Devas were all comedic relief side characters. They all got some cool moments, but in the end, that's what they were.
I've been saying this for fucking ages, Kill La Kill has some legitimate problems, but people acting as if a comic relief character getting humiliated is some huge injustice and makes the show shit are probably taking this show way too seriously or are just searching for any "problem" the show might have.
Say what you will, but I honestly doubt I'll stop. These threads stay up for hours on end, sometimes days. I can easily do all sorts of shit while monitoring them.
I'm here to stay until they fix their shit, or KlK disappears from /a/ altogether. So get cozy.
>Just before he failed to defeat her.
Because his power exceeded his Uniform. Rewatch the episode.
>Just after Satsuki saved him from the cannon fodder.
Fair enough, but the other Devas had it way easier than him.
>Also he defeated Takarada in what is literally the gayest way possible.
>Yeah, his final power up, which still didn't make him strong enough to harm Ragyo in any way or break the life fiber jammer even with the help of 100 one star students.
It made him strong enough to give Ragyo that kinda-worried look i posted previously. Sure he wasn't OP, but he was certainly stronger than DiscoMILF thought.
>Monkey is a joke.
Yeah no fucking shit. That's what i said. The Elite 4 were all a joke.
Inumuta gives exposition and provides some comic relief
Gamagori is probably the most "serious" Deva character, so as a result he usually gets the best scenes out of any of them. I have a feeling he was Triggers self insert too.
Monkey is for comic relief and gets some "cool" scenes, such as the time he beat up Ryuko and the end of Episode 23.
Nonon is..eye candy?
>Nonon is..eye candy?
>Please enlighten me, anon. What did Nonon do?
Nonon is, by far, the most important of the Devas. For many, many reasons.
>Because his power exceeded his Uniform.
That doesn't change the fact that he failed, as always.
>It made him strong enough to give Ragyo that kinda-worried look i posted previously.
Yeah not really. And at any rate she soon realized that he was nothing. So much nothing that even with the help of an army he couldn't accomplish what Gama could with his guts spilling out.
>The Elite 4 were all a joke.
No, because they all served some function aside from comedy relief, except for monkey.
>It made him strong enough to give Ragyo that kinda-worried look i posted previously. Sure he wasn't OP, but he was certainly stronger than DiscoMILF thought.
Yeah, that's funny. Not even Satsuki managed to surprise Discomilf.
>Only good for comedy
>Implying his uniforms and theme song weren't the best of the Four Devas
>I can easily do all sorts of shit while monitoring them.
But you don't, do you? There's never a long wait in between your posts
Nui was a wise old gal, love and hate are two sides of the same coin. You don't hate Satsuki you love her, now more than ever considering your obsession.
I think you're just mad because monkey wouldn't have been able to destroy any portion of the Nudist Beach HQ.
He couldn't defeat civilians with guns unless he had help, there's no way he could have taken on a bunch of nudist operatives and their DTRs.
