Japan creates the most animation out of any country. They're perceived to have some of the most creative minds in their field. Millions of yen gets poured into funding animators, voice actors, writers.

If this is the case, why is so much of it garbage? I know good shows shine through the cracks and can be enjoyable. But so much of it seems to pandering self insert trash. If you don't believe me look at your catalog. Right now most threads are obsessing over girls. Waifu circlejerks, ass threads, etc. Any discussion has seemingly been completely exhausted. They exist but are more often completely overshadowed and are pushed to 404 by threads that read like "post best girls of their respective shows" and "this is your girlfriend tonight!". The only threads that have some level of discussion have either a very vocal fanbase or a cute girl character to obsess over on the side

There's nothing wrong with liking it but there's no counterbalance. Where are the shows that rival Pixar? The shows that take a more mature approach to animated storytelling without being seen as edgy?

Why aren't there more unique shows? I know there's a culture barrier but it seems that there's a pattern when it comes to creating these shows. Almost to a production line like quality that churns out what they know what will sell to otakus. Look at the picture. Notice any patterns? I do.

This little piece of shit ruins the entire show for me

No, he is not a ero-sensei, he is a douche, not only stealing underwear but he grabs every girl in sight ( this may even count as rape ) every single time, and he uses his powers only for self-benefit, unlike Jiraya or Roshi, they would use their non-dangerous powers to leave a rough situation, while Happosai uses his most dangerous powers without giving a shit to anybody else

And since he is the powerful char in ranma 1/2 he is never punished by it

No, its not funnt, he is in WAY TOO MANY EPISODES, ranma 1/2 got stale, but if they didn't have this piece of shit they would've been more successful and watchable

Near and Mello - Death Note

They only purpose was to finish off what L started ( and give new chars for the new season ) but here is the thing

1 - They didn't have to work as hard as L
2 - Near and Mello are both shitty characters not only in design but in personality ( one if the child-version of L, and the other is a angsty teenager )
3 - Was Mello actually smart? like I know not every single kid in the orphanage was smart, they had a bunch of dumb normal people in there, but the anime implies that Mello was the second choice to be the next L

Like seriously? Mello never gave for 1 second vibe as a intelligent person, he neither made a genius plan

They can't be a little late?

I can arrive at any time in my job, and also leave any time I want, it is all good as long as by the end of the month I meet the total quota.

I can only imagine the writer or director knows very little about the world and can just imagine things around their living experiences. So they can't arrive late to their job, this is so lame.

Also something caught my attention from the first episode, it seems they control how many times someone goes to the toilet.

So I can only guess animators can't go to the toilet very often.

I can go to the toilet as many times as I want, if I wanted I could spend the entire day there and no one would care, as long as I finished my stuff in due time.

*I work as a software developer. I don't even know why I have to go to the company in person as I would be able to work from home, accessing my computer there remotely without any problem.
