What is the best & fastest way to model this game asset? I have a couple ideas in mind but I would like to hear from more experienced users.

fastest way would be to download that and retopo it.

they're just a bunch of squares
Make a path along the vertices at the top of each row of faces, model one square, and then use an array to make them follow the path all the way around
