Richard Williams' book is a huge meme and nearly useless to anyone just getting into cartooning and animation but the retarded animation mistake examples that are on par with a really bad Chinese animation sweatshop are very comparable with how computers interpolate your animation data. So it might have some use if you wish to recognize when the computer is gonna give you shitty animation before you actually run into those problems.

Yeah stay mad. Survival Kit fags.
If I studied his book instead of Preston Blair's Animation book, I wouldn't even know how to make a sketch of a nice character pose to use as a reference for a CG character. All that book is is inbetweening tricks. The essence of animation is in the keyposes not the inbetweening. Just look at how powerful a well posed animatic can be.
Then again let me reiterate that his inbetweening tricks might have use for CG, especially with messing around with animation curves.

I've supplemented it with other golden age cartooning books I've found on the net to really understand how these cartoonists thought because there is still a lot that is unwritten in the drawing examples they give you. The Preston Blair book still explains stuff the best even though it doesn't go in depth as I would like.
